Hi All, I would like to know how to TSOP a 1.5 xbox without softmodding. Is this possible? Can you point me to a tutorial that can show me how to TSOP directly without softmodding? Any help is apprceciated.

Hi guys, i just bought a softmoded xbox with a 250gb HDD in it, works well but it's a PAL Xbox, wich mean that i don't have HD options, and it's just unwatchable on my 4k Sony TV, who by the way doesn't have component ports, only RCA and HDMI, i'm stuck with the unfindable and expensive HD LINK by Pound, but lucky me, i found a similar cable converter on Amazon for 25€, even with bad reviews i have no choices but to order it and test it. So i solder the points for the TSOP, and also removed the clock capacitor, burned a Hexen DVD (the 2018 one) , launched it, choose the suitable flashing option for my Winbound 1.4 motherboard, and tried to flash the bios, BUT : i have a non official controller! And as i'm sure you know, gentoox is not capable of recognizing no names controller, but only the official one, and of course : i don't have one (but order one on Rakuten), i tried multiple time with every bios that was on the DVD (only the windbounds one of course), but gentoox just don't like cheap controllers no matter how fast i press on the D-Pad Now that you have the context, here's my question : Is there any way to flash the custom bios without the gentoox tool ? I know that we can do it with Unleashx (or Evox i don't remember), but i can't find the bios anywhere (just don't know where to look too besides googling it), and even if i find one, i'm not sure where to put it exactly or if it's safe to do anything without Hexen or Xblast. Hey guys, right now I own a 128mb xbox from n64freak and a 1tb hdd. Unfortunately some of my games do not boot, neither from hdd nor from disk. Others boot but get hung up on the loading screens. I tried different sources for my games on the hdd and they still hang, even with the original disk. Because of that I tried different FTP programs to, but it didn't help. Right now I am running some kind of IND-BIOS refering to my startup screen. I already tried reformating my hdd, but it didn't help, so my guess is that it might be a BIOS problem. The question now is, as i never tried that before (the installed BIOS was flashed by N64FREAK), which bios is the best one for my setup if i want to upgrade to a 2tb hdd? Or might the problem be of some other source? Any help is much appreciated.

This may be of interest to some. It saves having to Soft-Mod to flash the TSOP. I know is low quality video but you should get the idea SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.

Hi! I’ve recently bought and repaired a (very rusty and water damaged) Xbox. After cleaning it up, removing the clock cap and galvanizing, painting and taping the RF shield I chipped it with an Aladdin 4032 mod chip. Now that my wife is sufficiently annoyed with me spending a lot of time on this, is there an easy way to TSOP flash my v1.1 Xbox without removing my mod chip? I want to get it done now in case the mod chip fails in the future. The original hard drive is very much worthless as is the original DVD drive. I booted Hexen using a PC dvd drive just fine after chipping it. I just want to make sure I’ll be able to use any hard drive in it without the mod chip in case it breaks.

Hello everybody , I just tsop my first Xbox works great but its 8 gig Any tips on how to format my 500 gig drive that came from a old hard modded system, If I just drop it in I get a error code 7. so I dropped in hexen 2019 and turned off the system and rebooted got evox and then it just stayed there and did nothing any tips or video you know about? At first I started modding my OG Xbox for fun and preservation. But I really like playing with it. After a Rocky5 softmod (mrmario2011 tutorial), I decided to go TSOP. After tweaking my potention meter, to finally get 1 of the 4 hexen discs to read, and after fixing the dashboard with it. I now have a TSOPPED, 1.0 with 256kb evox m8+ f and g bios and a unleash x dash. In the changelog of the HEXEN2018 disc, it says that every bios is modified to work without disc drive.. But if I disconnect my disk drive, my xbox won't boot into his dash.. So I would like to try to modify my evox m8+ bios myself with evotool to get rid of the dvd check. (to make sure I preserve my og xbox when the drive fails in the future). The only problem is, I can't seem to find the bios files on the internet, and I don't know how to get them off the Hexen dvd.. Anybody got tips. And what is your opinion, should I use ind bios instead? And what's the best way to flash from the hard drive?

I read a lot of inormation and prepared everything (soldered the points on my ST TSOP 1.0), and decided to go for the Hexen 2018 disc and Evox M8 (F+G) bios). After I succesfully modded my xbox, i would like to unlock the stock hdd. I know that after a TSOP mod you can swap in every blank unlocked hdd. But I can't find what kind of utility I need to use to unlock my original stock hdd..

Jargon Buster TSOP - IS THE ONBOARD CHIP THAT BOOTS THE MS BIOS , YOU WILL WANT TO BOOT FROM THIS FOR XBOX LIVE. Hey, As the title suggests i successfully tsopd a 1.2 motherboard with a hynix chip, the flash finished and the box switched off. i powered back up and removed my hexen disc. The bios booted fine and i got to Unleash no problems. This particular hdd did not have any MS dash installed on it, i wanted to install it so put in rockys extras disc as i know it has a stock MS dash on it, clicked launch dvd and the disc started to boot as normal. All of a sudden i lost all output to my TV and the power led went orange. I left it for a few minutes and nothing changed so i powered it off. Upon powering up again i get the 3 reboots and a FRAG!!! Any ideas as to why this has happened? I have installed a known working X3 modchip and still get exactly the same result, seems that this box will not boot a bios form either the tsop or the chip. How can the tsop get fucked from just booting a disc??? Could it be an EEPROM issue? Would that cause a frag??

Is there any way to tsop without the original HDD? If so, can someone please elaborate

If you have read some of my replys to posting's you may have noticed that I am a bit anti softmod. For me If I get a Version 1 to 1.4 (1.5?) I will flash the thing if it's a version 1.6 it get's a chip. Me I use the 007AUF game hack to flash a new xbox and I have seen the compleate kit's popup on Fleebay (The game disk,USB with game save,USB to Xbox lead) it sure beats softmoding to then flash a XBOX especially if your going to do more than 1. I know some people can't solder but with the early box's conductive paint is the go. If you cant solder print the instructions and go and find a electronics tech and ask nicely for help. Go armed with a liquid bribe (Beer/Wine,Etc)helps some times. So here is your chance to convince me to softmod or even the pros and cons of soft modding or do you fit chips in version's 1.0 to 1.4 Cheers All SS Dave

I have the parts to do either a TSOP flash or a DUO X2 GS modship install. Not sure which one is the most beneficial. Also have a 2TB HDD I'll be putting in it for storing my disc images. Just trying to figure out if I should softmod and then flash the TSOP and have the chip as a backup or just go straight for the chip install. Thoughts?

My old eyes and lack of soldering skills has caused a problem. Plan was to TSOP a 1.0 Xbox. Top side bridge R7D3 went fine, but on the bottom of the board at R7R3 I burnt off the pad and the trace lifted up (bottom arrow). Can I solder a wire from the lifted trace to either the pad above it if I can get it to stick or the surface mount resistor above that pad (seen in pic)? Xbox is softmodded and still working. Maybe i should just quit while I am ahead lol

Hi everybody. From what I can understand there is a difference in how to change the default dashboard to anything you want (If you have a tsop, sofmodded or hardmodded box.) In my case, I have a TSOP modded box and I would like to have xbmc4gamers or xbmc emustation as my startup dash. What should I do here? I have read somewhere that I should make a shortcut in a program on my computer to redirect it to where I have the dashfile. Please feel free to fill in the blanks for me to understand this matter better. / David

I dug out my old box (v1.1 PAL) which originally had the x2 4981 bios flashed to it with the intention of getting it all updated (Rocky 5's EmuStation is the goal). Upgraded the HD with an old 320gb IDE, removed the clock cap and then flashed x2 5035 (256k) and all seemed good. Went to turn it on today and somehow the TSOP has reverted back to the x2 4981. Tried reflashing EvoX M8+ (256k), InD5004 (256k) and x2 5035 (256k and 512k) and all of them revert back to 4981 once I reboot (soft and hard). Video is set to PAL60 and Widescreen using the Scart AV pack. I have a composite AV pack as well. Should I restore back to retail (tsop & hdd)? Any other ideas? Currently, have no clue why it's reverting back to the 4981 bios.

Hi Friends, Today I met a special motherboard, it is not version of 1.2 or 1.3... It has an M29F002BT70N1 flash memory in it. So I met this type so many years ago and as I remember, than I can't flash it, I had to use modchip to modding the xbox. Maybe I'm wrong but as I see on the datasheet it has 2MB memory? How can I flash it? I do not find BIOS for it... Any idea? Thank you in advance! BR: SiD

Hey guys! A friend brought me a dead console he found somewhere. I can’t post any pictures at the moment, but it looks to be a 1.5. It... doesn’t have a TSOP chip for some reason. In fact, the pads for it have been removed altogether. Can anything be be done with this? I have an old Xecuter 2.1 lite I could slap in if it’s worth the trouble. The chip’s been laying around for quite a while anyway.

I recently acquired an XBOX Version 1.0. I replaced the Clock Capacitor with a higher quality Nichicon cap. Repasted the GPU and CPU. But I am torn between TSOP or keeping it original. I don't need another TSOP box and was thinking about keeping it original. On the other hand if the original hard drive goes out, well i'm out of luck and it won't do anybody any good. I just can't make up my mind. Anybody got any thoughts on this?

Hey all. i hope you can help. My 'Project Xbox' (V1.4) which i generally tinker with has an Aladdin X2 running IND bios. All my other Xbox's are either soft modded or have Xceuter 2 installed. I've never tsop'd a console and was thinking that i should give it a go and move the Aladdin X2 off too one of my 1.6's that has been soft modded. Can i boot to dash, pull the chip and then flash the tsop? Assume i have already bridged the 1.4 mobo ready for a tsop flash? ( This box, like all my others has a failed DVD that doesn't read discs. so need to do all this from the xbox itself) And... what software should i flash with? Thanks heaps

Hi, so short i tried tsop. Solder points on 1.0 xbox and when i put my hexen 2018 copy it boots but can't flash anything. If i try to install application i just got error code 3 from hexen. If i try to open tsop flash tools it just stuck on loading/copying files. I tried to check with bios checker but it will not boot and xbox boots back to dashboard. So are this is my soldering is bad or what? Added mobo and hexen info (i can add more info latter, sry for not clean photo it's was best i have to see chips)
