Hi. I am introducing myself in the forum. I am trying to bring to the life my xbox 1.6 with Tuscany power supply that looks dead, the xbox do not power on and doesn't do anything when try to power on. No measurement in the famous T2 transistor. There is no corrosion in my board and caps seems to be ok, so ... what is next to test? I would like to see the repairment guide but is not available for me at this point for newbie, so I ask you. Thank you all!

Hello OG Xbox forums, I've worked myself into a pickle again. The short version: I need to get a file off of an HDD that throws an error 16 (won't boot, Corrupted dash) but still works. Can I get it off using a second Xbox and a file manager, or do I need to buy an adapter and use Xpolorer 360 to get it off? The long Version: While preparing to TSOP flash my Xbox, I was copying saves over from the had drive onto a memory card for safe keeping. However when that didn't work with the UnleashX dash I tried to switch over to the default dash. This corrupted the files and now the Xbox throws an error 16 whenever it tries to boot from the HDD. Since it is an error 16 I can't boot from disc since the Xbox preforms the time check before it checks the DVD drive, and since the Xbox was only softmoded I can't just format a new drive and throw it in. From what I've found online I can use CHIMP and my working TSOP'd Xbox to recover the dash files on this second one, however I need the EEPROM.bin file. Can I get it off using a file manager that can detect both drives using the working TSOP'd Xbox, can CHIMP find the EPROM.bin file on the slave HDD and recover from that, or do I need to purchase an IDE adapter to connect my Drive to a PC via XPLORER 360 and then transfer it over to the XBOX? Thanks.

Hello all, I am new to xbox modding. I am just trying to learn more about the software side of modding this console. I have experience modding just about every other console and am now getting into the original xbox. I've installed an openxenium mod chip, and have ordered a 2TB hdd, ide to sata converter, and 80 wire ribbon cable. I'm just trying to get a feel for what the current methods people are using as a lot of information is outdated. Thanks for reading this.

Hello, I have an issue with 2 of my apps where if I reload them or try to load a game from them I get a black screen and nothing loads up after that. When I first start the apps they load fine. I have to reset the system to exit the apps to get back to the dashboard. I have changed directories, Installed both of them under F:\Applications and F:\Games. In both directories I get the same result. The Apps are: CoinOps8Lite and XBMC-EmuStation It is a hardmodded Xbox running Xecuter2 and the EvoX Dashboard. Is there something I have to change to get them to work? Thanks for the help!

Hi All, New member here, first post. I've had an OG Xbox for quite a while but sadly it was collecting dust until recently, it was cleaned up and I got the itch to play a few games. I think it has a modchip but that's up for debate, partly why I'm here and what my next post will be. Well hello from CT and hopefully I can contribute outside of just leeching some answers. DHCP, PC and Xbox are wired ethernet. All devices in the same room. Basically one day it was fine and the next it wasn't. Its so strange. When I ftp to any xbox from my PC, it maxes out around 1mb on FlashFXP. I have tried from Linux using a different client. Also tried 3 different windows clients. I changed out modems and ethernet NIC. If I setup an FTP from one xbox to another, the speeds between them are great/normal like 11mb. I can take files FROM the xboxs to my PC at the same speed. This is not simply just a 1 xbox issue if you cant tell. Any xbox I hook up, same shit happens. I tried 3 different dashboards. Tried different HDDs obv. The only thing I can think of is around the time this started happening, I did the forza multiple screen thing through DHCP. However my setup has completely changed since then, and new xboxs too. I am really lost on what this could be. I feel like i have covered every single base, but problem persists. This has happened to me in the past and 2 things fixed it. One time, I changed the ethernet cable. Tried that this time, didn't work. It specifically happened after a windows update way back so i reverted to an old version and that fixed it. However trying linux I feel has ruled that out. /shrug

Hey all. Sorry if this has been posted, but I searched and couldn't really find anything. I have a 1.0 Xbox that was handed to me by a friend. He said he couldn't remember much about it, but that him and his kid tried to mod it a long time ago, and now it isn't working. Upon opening it, I found a pin header, no modchip, tsop points soldered, and the underside D0 pad ripped off. When I try to start the xbox, it cycles power 3 times then frags out. I'm assuming this is due mainly to the ripped D0 trace. I've tried repairing the trace, and bridging the two pads connected by the green line, but I can't seem to get the solder to stick. Is there any other way to repair this, or is this the only way? Relatively new to xbox modding so any tips would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi guys, So I was given an Xbox 1.0 from a friend that is chipped and has a 120gb HDD. Unfotunately the chip does not have support for HDD larger than 120gb and I am unable to flash the chip's BIOS (evox says it is not flash writeable). I'm basically in a bind to find a guide on how to softmod this box and tsop it from a modchip because I don't know what type of chip it is and how to disable it. Hi all, I joined just over a year ago, and just realized I've never posted before. Thanks to this site and a few others, I TSOP-flashed a v1.0 XBOX and upgraded to a 2TB hard drive. Now I'm in the process of trying to streamline as many of my consoles as possible to use HDMI. Cheers, Cliff

I have a strange problem, have xbox 1.4 with aladdin XS MODCHIP, an older modchip ,but nonetheless it is working, As i want to upgrade to larger HDD, i pot-ed thomson drive, because it was failing, i put the 80 gb hdd, but i get error 13 and/or 16, the problem is that hexen or slayers cant read dvd from the first try,and always it can read from the second,third,etc.Also reads backups and reads hexen and slayers from retail HDD. Orange light is ok,evox sign is in the left-upper corner,it tries to read dvd hexen,but gets me to error 13 or 16 (this is only when i put blank HDD instead of the retail one)? DVD TRIES TO SPIN 2-3 TIMES, BUT NO BOOT TO HEXEN OR SLAYERS DISC,THEN ERRORS FOR MISSSING DASHBOARD Is there any solution to this?would appreciate very much,i could provide any information needed, THANKS IN ADVANCE

Hi all. I´m new here but not to the modding scene. Been modding consoles since the early days started around year 2000. Mostly Ps2 Wii Xbox Xbox360. Have been digging up the chipstorage and done about 20 consolles the last few months.

My Names Kaan, I am a modding enthuiast and have modded things from Xbox's to Ps3, Psp's, Wii's. Really enjoy doing it. Last night I successfully Tsop'd my first OG 1.1 Xbox, Flashed it with Xecutor 2 Bios using x2.5035.bin file with Xblast OS. Upgraded the Hardrive to a 2tb and am in the Process of transfering the Entire library excluding Sports and Maybe Disney games. Transfering Coinops and Ninja Massive ( not sure if both are really needed ) Wondering if there's anything thats a must I can stick on this thing apart from what i've mentioned. Maybe some useful tools?

Hi, was hoping you guys could help. When loading any event on the 'Eastern Bay' tracks in Burnout Revenge, I get a black screen error with text explaining the disc is damaged or dirty. Obviously I'm playing this from the HD, so no optical disc as such, but the error persists. I have tested this on a friends console and also tried downloading another copy of the game and ftping it over to rule out a bad install. No change. Is there some sort of patch for this game, or is it a noted issue? I cant see anything else about it. Both machines were 1.6 boxes with basic Aladdin chips and EvoX M8 bios. I also have here various 1.0, 1.4 and 1.6 xboxes with x3 chips, but i haven't tested this as yet as i don't currently suspect the bios? should i? Hope you can help, Cheers!

Hello I'd like to make some 720p patches for my PAL games but I cannot copy files from Xbox to USB, I dont see operation copy in file managers (Xbmc, Dvd2copy etc.). In the other hand I can copy FROM Usb TO Xbox, any help, please?

Hi peoples. I'm Jay! 35 from Southern Illlinois (15 minutes out of St. Louis, MO) and I have my original xbox 1.0 that I've had since December of 2001. 10 years ago, I softmodded it. Last Tuesday, I swapped the hard drive for a Samsung Spinpoint 160GB HDD, removed the clock capacitor then updated to Rocky5's softmod kit. Currently I'm attempting to obtain the things to see win98 lol. Just because. No real purpose except to just see it done! Take care and happy computing, folks!

Hey guys, finally blew the dust off my old v 1.0 hoping to have some fun and meeting new people.

I have an OpenXenium chip installed in my 1.6 box w/ 2TB Sata HDD; StarTech adapter; Chimeric custom 80 ide cable. I just finished installing the Xenium RGB mod by Nemesis. So I downloaded all of the Xenium OS LED and Skin files. Uploaded them to their own subdirs in a subdir named XeniumOS on E:\ so: E:\XeniumOS\Skins -and- E:\XeniumOS\LEDS when I select Choose LEDs... the only thing that shows up is <Default>, not the list of leds. I thought that was weird so I made sure E:\XeniumOS dir existed w/ sub dir LEDS, yep it does. Still stumped I thought well maybe the chip isn't reading from the HDD for some reason...so I opened Disk Tools from the OS menu and selected Format Partition and choose the Z partition. Selected Master selected Yes all the way through til I was REALLY sure....it said "Failed to format partition!" Did the same for Slave. So I confirmed it's not reading from the HDD...then I thought well i should FTP in and see if I can see the list of directories, they aren't there. I put my orig 8GB IDE HDD in w/ orig IDE cable and tried the same thing....it shows the LED files and Skin files. I'm stumped trying to figure this out. I've made sure the blue end of the IDE cable is connected to the HDD. Tried ALL of the jumper locations on the StarTech adapter; Master, Slave, CS and the other one. I have no idea, I gave up for the evening. FWIW, XBMC loads fine and I can see all of my files in the dash and FTP, games and apps load fine from the HDD...so It's a Xenium OS issue; it's probably related to another issue but I'm not sure what it is so I made this post asking for help. Can anyone offer a suggestion on how to get read access to my sata HDD in the Xenium OS? TIA!

ive downloaded all the games which is 2 terabyte (torrent on aracde punks) installed half of the games on E: and half on F: installed xbox artwork installer, however its scans all games from E: drive and F: drive. But the F: drive game covers wont show up. please help as is coming up with blank images

Hello, I am Deniz from Germany and I am in the Modding Scene since back in 2008. Since I started my Twitch-Channel where I mod stuff I choose the OG-XBOX as first Projekt. So most XBOXes I had where 1.6 ones and eventually back in 2012-2013 an friend gave me his old XBOX and I never got too look inside. As the Clock Capacitor is a ticking time bomb, yesterday I removed it and it became clear... my XBOX is kind of an unicorn as it is an 1.5 XBOX with Aladdin Advanced-Chip and GND + 3.3V have been rebuilt. Well I plan on doing an OpenXenium-Mod and building an ogx360. So I registered myself here as most of the OG-Sources are down nowadays. Cheers.

I have a backup of my entire softmod/og xbox hdd that i did when i did the softmod on it. It's in a .iso file. It contains everything on it from c,d,f partitions and has the backup of the eeprom in it. My evolutionx dash, skins, few programs like dvdtoxbox. I softmoded it with the sid 5.0 and game exploit, had Evolutionx dash. The hdd i upgraded to 360gb hdd. I must have made the backup before i started burning games to the drive. I have no clue what i did with the original drive, i probably chucked it as i had the backup. How do i take this backup .iso and put it on a new hdd to put in my xbox as there doesn't seem to be any tutorials on doing this specifically? So bit of background; I'm not a noob to softmodding og xbox's, but last time i did a softmod was before the rocky5 method existed. My xbox is stuck on and will only boot to the xbox dash after an error 21. This happened after i accidentally clicked on connect to xbox live on call of duty and it updateed. I read somewhere there are 2 files you need to delete once a game is copied to hd in order to prevent this, but i can't remember what they are? Any help there would be good to. I cannot ftp into the hdd anymore as ftp won't find the console. Also i tried burning the Hexen2018 to disk, but that won't boot, and have since learned you need softmod dash for it to boot so no luck there. Next i tried xboxhdm23usb beta3 as i have a few spare external 2.5 dives in external enclosures. Only thing i did here was put the eeprom in root folder and tried basic build as is first to see if it will work. But again no luck. It finds the hdd's, but keeps coming up with -h and -d errors when i choose option 5 or xboxhd program. Can anyone help?

Hello ! I really tried looking everywhere but I can't seem to find anything regarding my problem. I have a softmodded box with UnleashX, normal stuff. I have downloaded the Rocky5 Mod, I have the Xbox Softmodding Tool Extras Disc.iso put in the Xbox Softmodding Tool Extras Disc folder, which is next to the Detacher folder. Both folders are in the apps folder on disk F, they show up in the Applications menu. So I start up the Xbox Softmodding Tool Extras Disc app, I get a black screen, and after a couple of seconds it just gives me the UnleashX logo and boots in the normal dashboard with nothing changed. I can't seem to find anyone else having this problem, don't know what to do.
