Hey. I got a question. I have a 1.4 xbox tsop flashed with the x2 5035 F&G bios file. All runs fine, but the g drive shows no files. I can copy files on this partition, delete it and so on. With the x2 49.. Bios it shows all folders (hombrew, games etc) But the x2 5035 will not show these files Exactly the same happens with the ind 5004 bios.

samsung may be some of the best at reading disks but they are the worst at getting stuck trays. if changing the belt doesn't make the disk tray function correctly then what should i try next?

Hello, I am looking at making a few of these for myself, and I'm wondering if anybody here has used one, or anything similar to it? I'm not familiar with kernel debugging using Super I/O, but it seems like something that could be useful if I want to learn all I can from the hardware of this system. DobaMuffin

Hello everyone, Thank you for all the great resources on this site, was able to figure out issues with games like JSRF, Panzer Dragoon, Voodoo Vince and more. I'm still having issues with 2 games on my list that I was dying to play - Fatal Frame 2 & Call of Cthulhu. I've tried different Bios' different launchers, launching the game in different resolutions, multiple downloads and more. Next thing I'd like to try is applying an ACL patch using DVD2xbox, but I can't locate the ACL file needed to do this without burning. Eventually I'll try that if nothing else works... Running an X3 chip on the latest bios on XBMC from a 1.6 Xbox for context. Does anyone have any advice or the ACL files I need to run these games? I think they're trying to access specific assets from the DVD drive, they keep freezing at the exact same point Everytime I load it up.

Hey everyone, I've never actually owned an original Xbox myself. My uncle had one he got on launch day, but I only ever got to use it when I went to his house. Most of my time playing OG Xbox games has been on either a 360 or Xbox One. I've come here because I have some interesting research to share on the Xbox port of Half-Life 2. HL2 can actually run some custom maps if injected into the files the right way, and I and a few others in the Source engine community are trying to figure out exactly how to make it work. We've got Garry's Mod maps working in Cxbx, so running on hardware is the next step. I've known a bit of the Xbox Scene for a while by lurking on /r/originalxbox, so hopefully I'm not a complete noob.

Hey all! 1.6 crystal Xbox here with an aladdin chip. My Xbox fragged with error 7 so I assumed my HDD (softmod) was dead. So I got an aladdin, redid the LPC of course and got it to boot with the purple logo! Same thing though. Narrowed it down to the DVD drive. Whenever the disk drive is connect to both IDE and power, the XBOX with either FRAG with error 7 or if I just connect power it will just boot loop the blue xbox logo over and over. Samsung drive. Assuming its just a dead drive? Anyone hear of this? Any way to repair or do I just grab a drive from another xbox? Thanks!

I copied some emulators through ftp to the G partition of my HDD, I was using WinSCP for this. When I finished, I closed the connection and then reset my Xbox with Lt+Rt+Back+Black; I got the Bios screen, the UnleashX boot screen (I'm using a custom skin, so the skin version of the boot screen appeared) and then...nothing, just a black screen. First I thought the video was bad, but that was not the case, then I tried to boot on safe mode but nothing happened. Some people on a subreddit tell me to use Hexen to install another dashboard, I don't know if this is going to work tho. Please, if you know what's wrong with my Xbox let me know, I'm scared

Hello, Is there a disc out there that will rebuild a xbox harddrive without any other extra features. What to keep my xbox simple and just boot straight to xbmx4gamers. Hexens add stuff i do not want. Xbox is tsop. ver 1.3. Evox m8. Bios changed to boot to the xbmc4gamers on e first.

Hello, I am currently getting red and green flickering artifacts on my screen with all games with my Xbox. Not sure what the problem is. I have tried multiple different AV cables, televisions, and games thinking thinking that might have been the problem. But, it seems there is some major graphical error wrong with my Xbox, and googling the problem has not been easy. Does anyone know if there is a fix Thanks, Sam

Hi, I just acquired a 1.0 xbox for 10€ , the guy told me that the console wasn't able to read discs, so i try to put a disc on it, it works but painfully , sometime it does (the loading time takes a long time, and the boot aswell), sometime it just don't (it goes to the ms dash like there is no disc on it), but i decided to hardmod it anyway since i'm not planing to use the dvd drive (already have all of my backups on my other xboxes). I first softmoded it with the splinter cell exploit, then i solder the bridges to flash a 256bits EVOX M8+ (F and G) bios with the hexen disc ( i wasn't sure if the 512bits was the one to choose or not), i installed an 250gb HDD from another xbox that was hardmoded aswell, but didn't bother to format it, since it has the same configuration. I made i backup of the eeprom just in case, installed XBMC4gamers, tried some games and emulators, and so far so good. BUT, once i'm in a game and want to go back to my main dash (XBMC4gamers), the console has this weird behavior, the led are blikning green, i can hear the dvd drive spin two times, while the console reboot, it has the microsoft logo, then it restart again to finally come to my main dash. Basically it's take just a little bit longer, so it's not like she didn't reboot at all, but still, it's quite annoying.. And it only does that with XBMC4gamers, as for Unleashx it's just reboot the console like she normally would. I tried to clean the hdd, by removing the xbmc folders to avoid any conflict, but that didn't change anything Any ideas why it does that? Cheers

Hello i have a xbox with a almost dead hard drive and a dvd drive that works barely. The previous owner performed a tsop very long ago and that's why i believe that i can boot to hexen without the hard drive, also i saw some solder residue on the pads to unlock the bios protection. (Cleaned the old solder and bridged the points again) I have a 1.4 with a Windbond and focus chip, the main problem that i have is that i can't move the options in the Gentoox because my only working controller seems to be a fake controller or at least the original pcb was replaced with a generic one, someone told me on the Xbox-hq forums that i can just drop the bios file on C:/Bios . Can i boot HEXEN and ftp the bios file from there? Also what bios do you recommend? I can't decide beetween evo m8 or iND-BiOS.5004.67 Thanks for your time.

Hi everyone, I'm a new user,have xbox I don't know what version it is, modchip is Aladdin XT with bios M8plus, but a strange thing happens when I turn on the console by holding down the power button 2 seconds it turns on but when I start any game via the evox 3935 dashboard gets stuck on the loading screen,the chip appears to be deactivated....the power button turns green..after 5 seconds it is power on.

I found an original xbox. I don't know much about it. It was opened, but I doubt that it was modded. I bought cables, which were lacking. I tried to connect it to my flat panel tv via a composite to HDMI converter. I can see the blue screen on the HDMI channel, and I can see it switch from 720 to 1080p, so I am convinced that is working. I never see anything from the XBOX though. All I get is a flashing green light. I don't have any idea of what's wrong or how to go about fixing it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

OK. I just put together a Ver 1.2 XBOX with IND 5004 bios. During the bios boot I get these thin vertical red lines. I have always used a EVOX 8m bios and have never had this problem before. I'm wondering if this is normal with this bios? It looks fine when fully booted into Unleash X. I don't have another IDE to SATA adaptor. So it's either in the Bios itself or the adaptor. I only have one of the cheap chinese adaptors here. Anybody got any thoughts?

I am selling my version 1.6 Xbox in a transparent ghost case. It has built in red cold cathodes, a Xerc XE, internally mounted microsoft dvd dongle, and 2TB hard drive. On the hard drive are all NTSC released games, all of the exclusive NTSC-J games, and some of the exclusive PAL games. Hi, I've just cleaned up an old xbox to keep around as a spare. I've cleaned and lubed the drive mechanism in the DVD drive, all is moving smoothly and reading discs perfectly. The only problem is that, when opening the tray, the open/close button light keeps flashing while open, and after a few seconds, the tray closes by itself. It's not stopping me from playing games, but I'd like to get it back to working as it should. Does anyone know if this sounds like something that's easy to fix? Thanks very much. -Bob

I successfully unlocked a hard drive with 500GB worth of xbox games and emulators on it. Now I want to lock it using the eeprom from my xbox so I can install it. I unlocked it using HDM V1.9 - I also have a second console if I need to use chimp. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi, Love this forum and got a lot of great info from here. Recently I dusted of my good old softmod and gave this all a go again after many years. I was able to tsop the xbox and install a larger harddisk. My friends picked up on the idea of having a xbox with emustation and asked me to build one for them as well. So I ended up buying and working on 6 xboxes and harddrives that all went trough their own struggle to get the job done but hey, I made it. Thing is though, at some point I used chimp to format a 500gb WD and it locked it by the end of the session in one of the xboxes. this drive ended up not being used and now I want to use it again but I do not know what xbox it's from. Being all wel prepped I did read all the eeproms from al the xboxes trough simple serial eeprom reader. Extracted them straight of the board with no issues but the sidenote is I never did with this 500gb WD hdd installed. And this is where my confusion is, because what I understand is the eeprom is xbox specific. And the harddrive password is generated trough the hdd serial number and model based on the eeprom. (Please correct me if I'm wrong). So all the eeproms I have when I read them in live info beta 3 show me other harddrives. So I connected the harddrive to my ide port refreshed the disk managment, it pops up under disk# and I try to select it in live info without any luck. I tried running chimp in order to unlock the hdd in the slave disk options with all the available eeproms but had no luck. Basically, and I'm sorry this is a long read, I'm trying to find a way to backwards engineer my hdd locking code with the 6 eeproms I have available that all state a different make/brand/sn hdd. How can i softmod my xbox using a modern pc and ide to sata adapter?I tried with xplorer360 but every time it says could not find fatx drive.I hot swapped drive using two methods.I heard that you can softmod it with ide to sata adapter using xboxhdm23usb.Is that true,and if yes,how to do it?

Hey guys, I've had issues with my xbox for quite some time now. It is a 1.1, 128mb, TSOP flashed with Ind-Bios. Many games wouldn't boot, no matter what, tried different sources, settings whatsoever. Some games gave me a direct black screen when trying to run, some would boot but then lock up on the loading screen. So today I tried running Hexen2018 from the download section here from my hdd, but as i wasn't sure which bios to flash i chickened out and exited without doing anything. To my suprise my xbox no longer booted into XBMC4Gamers, but into unleashX, the first two times without showing the IND-BIOS boot up. As obviously something had changed I tried to run some of the games that hung on a black screen before, and suddenly they worked. The other games that hung on loading screen still didn't work, but I was glad Halo finally booted on me, as I wanted to play it for ages. But after a couple of reboots, the IND-BIOS bootup reappeared and my xbox started showing the same behavior as before. Halo gave me a black screen again, as five minutes before it was working. Anyone knows what might be the problem here? Do I need to reflash my BIOS maybe or use some other?

Hello, I am writing this today to see about getting some help with my 1.6 Xbox and the Xeceuter 2.6 CE installed in it. I recently did this motherboard mod involving a resistor to extend the life of the board and the board works fine after the install. This is also where I managed to find an issue. With the mod chip enabled, both banks load up their respective bioses, but when I disable the mod chip using the front panel switch, the console Frags after 3 tries. When I disconnect the LFrame wire from the mod chip, the console boots up like normal to the stock dash using the stock bios. Before the mod though, disabling the mod chip using the front panel switch worked liked normal. So now I am a point where I made a modification to extend the life of the console, but lost some functionality in my mod chip at the same time. I am wondering if anybody knows what would cause the issue I described and if anybody else has ever run into similar issues. Though I know most don't tend to mod 1.6 consoles if the can avoid it. I'm also curious if anybody else happens to have an Xbox motherboard that is warped around the CPU and GPU area. By warped, I mean that I can see a curve in the motherboard around that area. I apologize if this has been covered but I came up empty when searching. So I finally powered on my OG Xbox with X3CE and X3CP after many years. The bios was old (3294) so figured I would update. Flashed 5035 and everything is working, however for some reason when booting with the white button pressed Config Live doesn't load. Any ideas?

Hello, is there a possibility to exchange the DVD drive of the xbox for a PC drive?

Hi all, I'm talking about 1 of the 2 XBOXes I bought used. I am in the process of cleaning them as best as possible. One was sold as modded and is clearly modchipped/TSOPed, as it displays "Xecuter2" on boot just by pressing the power button once. So I disassembled the other one, sold without any mention about modchip. Because I didn't know it was modchipped I was going to clean dust and remove clock capacitor but when I tore it apart I did see this chip installed on board: After a good cleaning and putting it back I tried to power it on by pushing power button for 2-3 seconds and I get a bootscreen with "Xecuter2" mark instead of "Microsoft", but I have the same (stock) dashboard as before. I did read that before removing the clock capacitor, having a modchip installed, I must use a suitable (kinda new) BIOS in order to avoid "clock loop" problem. Now that I'm there, what can I do to update this modchip? I have TruHexen2019 dvd iso downloaded from somewhere, if could be useful. I'm kinda familiar with tweaking things in general, as well as other consoles, but I'm just a noob about Xbox modding, so please be kind and patient
