  1. I will do that. I sure appreciate the advice. Before I remove the clock capacitor, is there any mod that needs to be done before it’s removed, or am I safe removing it immediately?
  2. I am nearly certain that it's a 1.0 or 1.1. The reasons that I believe this was never modded, are that I can't see any solder points on the top of the board; it was FILTHY when I opened it, and the clock capacitor is still there. I bought a video cable and power cable. Neither are original. I wish I had original ones that I knew worked. I also have a replacement DVD drive. I get the same results with it. I am doing all that I can to narrow down the issue. By the way, I don't have any games or a controller, but I don't think those are needed for any of this testing.
  3. Thanks Dave. Is there a way that I can tell if there was an attempt to mod it? I don’t see any tell-tale signs on the inside. There are not solder marks where I think there should be. It even has the clock capacitor still in tact.
  4. I found an original xbox. I don't know much about it. It was opened, but I doubt that it was modded. I bought cables, which were lacking. I tried to connect it to my flat panel tv via a composite to HDMI converter. I can see the blue screen on the HDMI channel, and I can see it switch from 720 to 1080p, so I am convinced that is working. I never see anything from the XBOX though. All I get is a flashing green light. I don't have any idea of what's wrong or how to go about fixing it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
