I have an OpenXenium chip installed in my 1.6 box w/ 2TB Sata HDD; StarTech adapter; Chimeric custom 80 ide cable. I just finished installing the Xenium RGB mod by Nemesis. So I downloaded all of the Xenium OS LED and Skin files. Uploaded them to their own subdirs in a subdir named XeniumOS on E:\ so: E:\XeniumOS\Skins -and- E:\XeniumOS\LEDS when I select Choose LEDs... the only thing that shows up is <Default>, not the list of leds. I thought that was weird so I made sure E:\XeniumOS dir existed w/ sub dir LEDS, yep it does. Still stumped I thought well maybe the chip isn't reading from the HDD for some reason...so I opened Disk Tools from the OS menu and selected Format Partition and choose the Z partition. Selected Master selected Yes all the way through til I was REALLY sure....it said "Failed to format partition!" Did the same for Slave. So I confirmed it's not reading from the HDD...then I thought well i should FTP in and see if I can see the list of directories, they aren't there. I put my orig 8GB IDE HDD in w/ orig IDE cable and tried the same thing....it shows the LED files and Skin files. I'm stumped trying to figure this out. I've made sure the blue end of the IDE cable is connected to the HDD. Tried ALL of the jumper locations on the StarTech adapter; Master, Slave, CS and the other one. I have no idea, I gave up for the evening. FWIW, XBMC loads fine and I can see all of my files in the dash and FTP, games and apps load fine from the HDD...so It's a Xenium OS issue; it's probably related to another issue but I'm not sure what it is so I made this post asking for help. Can anyone offer a suggestion on how to get read access to my sata HDD in the Xenium OS? TIA!

Hey guys, happy new year! A few months ago I was given an original Crystal Xbox. As someone who has always been on the Sony side of consoles, I admit, I don't know much about Xbox. However I was told that the Xbox was running EvoX (Can be confirmed, when I turn the Xbox on, there is an EvoX icon on the left hand side of the boot screen) and that the Xbox had a modchip inside. The Xbox has been sitting under my bed for a while and I thought today I would dust it out and upgrade the internal HDD. The IDE hard drive inside the Xbox was only 80GB and I had a spare 250GB IDE hard drive I wasn't using. -- So I went ahead and followed this tutorial: Basically I downloaded Hexen 2018 > burned the image to a DVD > put the DVD inside my Xbox > replaced the old IDE HDD with the 250GB one > booted into Hexen 2018 > went into Disk Upgrades > From there I followed the process. After the files had copied over from the DVD, XBPartitioner 1.3 booted up and I made sure that I set the F drive to the full 250GB. From there the process was complete. I took the Hexen 2018 DVD out of my Xbox and the UnleashX dashboard popped up. BUT when I look at the drive details on the upper left corner. I can see that there is only around 120gb free on (F:). Whenever I try to boot XBPartitioner from the dashboard menu, I get the following error: "LBA48 info not found! Custom Partitions will not work with this BIOS! Update your BIOS to one which supports at least LBA48 version 2." I done a bit of research and it LOOKS like I need to update my BIOS. But honestly as someone who has no clue what they're doing, this frightens the hell out of me. So that leads me to this post... I'm looking for some help which can preferably be explained in as simple detail as possible, I literally need someone to spoon feed me the steps. I would be so grateful and appreciate it! EXTRA INFORMATION - If I load into the EvolutionX dashboard I can see the follow details, which might be relevant. BIOS: EvoX M8 (1.6) Kernal: 1.00.5838.01 EvolutionX V+3935

Hi everyone. Recently I've been watching some ModernVintageGamer videos on YouTube and really wanted to get out of the drawer my old modchipped Xbox. It wasn t booting anymore because of a dvd reader failure(error 11 and 12) so I got a used xbox for spare parts off eBay,got the dvd player out of it and put it in my Xbox. The Xbox boots but it won't read even original disks. My question is how do I understand what modchip is installed? Can I run any sort of homebrew via USB and upgrade my HDD ? Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, first of all merry christmas. I have a problem with my xbox. Its a 1.6 and when i got him there was a softmod on it. I want to put in a 2tb hdd. Normally when i plug in the new hdd with hexen it automaticly sees the hdd and i can format it. With this xbox i get an error. So i thought when this doesnt work i will do it with chimp. And obviously this doesnt work too...when i boot chimp he asks to connect the new hdd as slave..when i do and press A it wont go further. Ive tried everything..i even tried to delete the softmod and softmod it again with rocky 5 and do the update and try everything again. Does anyone have an idea? Edit: With the original hdd in it everything works fine, i can play games, i can boot hexen, i can boot rocky5 disc.

So I ordered a couple of generic 500gb HDD’s on Amazon for 2 Xbox’s both are v1.6 and mod chipped, they just happened to all be WD green. Wrote a 500gb hdd image to both drives as I have done with many in the past, new ide cable and adapter etc but non of the WD green drives will boot?? Is there an issue with these drives and OG Xbox’s?

I have tried party buffalo - cant find the drive. Xplorer 360 - no dice. Any tips? Want to transfer files.

I have a backup of my entire softmod/og xbox hdd that i did when i did the softmod on it. It's in a .iso file. It contains everything on it from c,d,f partitions and has the backup of the eeprom in it. My evolutionx dash, skins, few programs like dvdtoxbox. I softmoded it with the sid 5.0 and game exploit, had Evolutionx dash. The hdd i upgraded to 360gb hdd. I must have made the backup before i started burning games to the drive. I have no clue what i did with the original drive, i probably chucked it as i had the backup. How do i take this backup .iso and put it on a new hdd to put in my xbox as there doesn't seem to be any tutorials on doing this specifically? So bit of background; I'm not a noob to softmodding og xbox's, but last time i did a softmod was before the rocky5 method existed. My xbox is stuck on and will only boot to the xbox dash after an error 21. This happened after i accidentally clicked on connect to xbox live on call of duty and it updateed. I read somewhere there are 2 files you need to delete once a game is copied to hd in order to prevent this, but i can't remember what they are? Any help there would be good to. I cannot ftp into the hdd anymore as ftp won't find the console. Also i tried burning the Hexen2018 to disk, but that won't boot, and have since learned you need softmod dash for it to boot so no luck there. Next i tried xboxhdm23usb beta3 as i have a few spare external 2.5 dives in external enclosures. Only thing i did here was put the eeprom in root folder and tried basic build as is first to see if it will work. But again no luck. It finds the hdd's, but keeps coming up with -h and -d errors when i choose option 5 or xboxhd program. Can anyone help?

Hello ! I really tried looking everywhere but I can't seem to find anything regarding my problem. I have a softmodded box with UnleashX, normal stuff. I have downloaded the Rocky5 Mod, I have the Xbox Softmodding Tool Extras Disc.iso put in the Xbox Softmodding Tool Extras Disc folder, which is next to the Detacher folder. Both folders are in the apps folder on disk F, they show up in the Applications menu. So I start up the Xbox Softmodding Tool Extras Disc app, I get a black screen, and after a couple of seconds it just gives me the UnleashX logo and boots in the normal dashboard with nothing changed. I can't seem to find anyone else having this problem, don't know what to do.

hi all new here and new to thee xbox modding, i have a tosp modded og xbox i wont to check the heath of my drive as ive noiced sum saves are not loading i have a 500GB segate sata drive in it i wont to make sure the drive is ok and it's not just a curuped file ?

For the first time I'm using a Seagate 2.5" IDE HDD (80GB). I'd decided to use it in my newly Aladdin chipped Xbox principally because I discovered it could not be locked (as Slave) after I'd successfully used Chimp 261812 to clone a softmodded HDD to it. Retried and Chimp kept on reporting the drive could not be locked and indeed after I'd changed it to Master I had error 5 on that Xbox. Once the other, Aladdin chipped, Xbox was up and working I fitted that same unlocked 2.5" HDD and used an AID disc to install a chipped UnleashX dash. Everything works fine One of the things I do with new softmods is unlock and immediately relock the HDD using ConfigMagic. That way there's the possible option of using the "TEAMASSEMBLY" master password if the eeprom went missing. Never needed it. However I wondered about ConfigMagic's locking/unlocking capability and thought why not try that on the 2.5" HDD not expecting it to work......................but it did. I discovered I could lock and unlock it, doing that several times without any trouble. This was confirmed by the UnleashX dash as well as ConfigMagic itself. So why couldn't Chimp 261812 lock it as Slave? Same TV, 2.5" to 3.5" IDE adapter, 80 wire IDE cable, same AV Composite cable, same Controller S and no USB peripherals. I've not tried the now unlocked 2.5" HDD with Chimp 261812 again as Master. I'll probably do that later today.

some game saves are tied to the individual xbox's hdd key. so wouldn't nulling the key mess up some game saves?

I recently upgraded my HDD successfully to a 1TB HDD. Set everything up with Hexen. Made sure my F partition was setup with 64k cluster size. Yet now almost halfway through my F drive being full, i can no longer copy files successfully to that partition. Whether it be via FTP or the file manager on the console itself. I get no errors via FTP, all i see is that it changes to passive mode, but nothing actually copies. I do get an error with the file manager, its just an error number. Doing some research it seems that it would be the cluster size of the partition. But i checked with xboxparitioner 1.3 and it is indeed 64k. I am going to copy off my data, and reformat the partition, verify all my settings again, but curious if anyone has any idea to what the issue can be? I hope its not a faulty drive as it is brand new. Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone, i'm new on the scene and a month ago i started with my first modded xbox project. I'm from the Netherlands and have a pal 1.6 hardmod xbox with EVOX M8 bios. I make it to ntsc so i can use all hd modes and using the pound hdmi cable. My goal is to have a xbox with all games that where release on it on 1 disc. So i put a Seagate 3TB disc so i get the max of 2TB and use xbmc4gamers as dash. I found almost all games now, its a pretty challenge to fit them all (using soms ntsc instead of pal games or deleting all un needed files ). i'm now in the mode to test al games (i start the game and go to the first level) and now i''m on the letter c with the club football games. There are around 36 titles (2003 and 2005 versions) but non of them starting. When i started it it goes to a black (blank) screen and nothing happend. I try different sources from games, all the same. Patching ith with 480p loader has no effect. I can find an ACL patch and default patching doesn't work. I don't think it's a image problem, because all club football editions don't start. All other games (so far i tested, now about 200 games) are starting fine (sometimes with patching or finding an other source\version of the game). Any idea how i can start these games to work? Hi all, I recently pulled my OG Xbox out of the garage to set it up for my 9yo to have a play on. Looking forwards to showing it off to her, I tested it and it worked fine but thought I had better remove the clock cap for safety (no leaking but checked to make sure). Then let her have a go at a game - worked fine. Then after rebooting, error 12.... I took the drive and put it on the PC and quickly took an image of it using HDDRawcopy, which showed around 8 bad sectors and the drive was reporting SMART errors too, so it's toast. I got a larger SATA drive and put it in using an amazon purchase IDE-SATA adapter, but still get the error 12 - is there any way to read the drive on a PC and repair the damage/reinstall whatever is used to boot (as there was a lovely setup of xecutor2 dashboards on there I would rather not lose). Otherwise, if there is no way to recover it. I tried using Tru Hexen 2020 to try and setup another drive, but the DVD won't boot (HDD is set to slave, I get error 17) Any help gratefully appreciated (it's a hard modded unit- xectutor 2 from memory)...

I recently tried to softmod my old xbox and bricked the hdd due to not ejecting the game disc in the end of the installation process. Now the dashboard is gone and I can't even boot retail games using the machine. I just bought an xbox with a modchip (xecuter 2) and I'm wondering if I could swap the hdd in the modded xbox with the bricked xbox and install the ms dashboard from a disc.

I can't find the answer to this anywhere but somebody on another forum wants to use Chimp 261812 to clone a softmodded HDD to one previously used with a chipped Xbox. The important thing is to preserve the F:\ and G:\ drives on the second HDD as there is around 1TB of games installed and they want to avoid having to FTP or copying them all over again. The second HDD seems to be a perfectly normal, unlocked, chipped install so the obvious thing to suggest initially was using Chimp 261812 to clone his existing softmodded HDD. But when the requirement to preserve F:\ and G:\ on the slave drive was mentioned I realised I did not know the answer. None of the Chimp 261812 documentation or forum posts I've found anywhere appear to cover such matters. So is it possible just to clone C:\ and E:\ using Chimp 261812 without affecting the F:\ and G:\ drive content? If not is there another way of doing what is wanted? Maybe even better for example I thought about suggesting repopulating C:\ and E:\ with a softmod installation using FATXplorer and then using Chimp 261812 to lock it. Would that work?

Just a theoretical pondering as I could not find any info on it. I know you can null a HDD key on a soft mod’d xbox so I was wondering if it was possible to null and lock a hdd using a tsopd xbox then transfer it into the soft mod’d xbox? Cheers

hi so I did the following steps so far 1)softmodded my 1.0 via SC PH 2) I used rocky5's tools to null the eeprom then extract the nulled eeprom backup to my gdrive ok so now I have a sata hdd (Seagate 500GB) and a kingwin SATAtoIDE board knowing that it doesn't have a master/slave switch by best option is to use xboxhdm i have a question first is there a way to burn the iso to usb boot instead of by cd? and i want hdm2.0 that supports sata drives correct? thanks for your help

I am looking to upgrade my original xbox hard drive. Console is a V1.6 that is softmodded. My new hard drive came in the mail today. I attempted to hotswap and set it up using chimp, however, the hard drive I received was not the hard drive I ordered and it does not lock, so I am returning it. On to the question, I am familiar with the method of hotswapping and using chimp to clone my drive. I am also aware you can set up a drive on pc if you can connect the drive either directly through ide connection or by using ide to usb. Are there any other methods for prepping a hard drive for a soft modded xbox that do not require either a pc connection or a hotswap while the console is turned on?

Hello, I came across this site while searching for solutions to my problem. I was attempting to upgrade my XBOX HDD to a 1 TB WD SATA drive that is listed as lockable. I followed Mr. Mario's tutorial on Youtube to a T, and it appeared to be successful, however upon powering up with the new HDD in place of the old I get error 07 and on occasion 09. When going back and attempting to use Chimp to re-clone the original HDD to the new drive, the new drive cannot be altered due to it being locked. Attempts to unlock the HDD via the Unlock Slave Drive menu in Chimp do not work, all of which lead to the same screen referencing the password from the motherboard, but changing nothing. How do I unlock this drive? And yes, I have the jumpers currently set to slave, and had them set to master when I attempted to utilize it as the master HDD. Any help is appreciated.

I have a v1.0 original modded Xbox, it had an old Aladdin mod chip, I wanted to upgrade the hard drive and after doing some research I found out I can brick it by flashing a new bios. The bios is unknown but after running bios checker it reads I have a lpc sst49lf020, it boots up xecuter2 into an evolution x dashboard. If I use the hexen 2019 disc, what steps can I take after I install a larger hdd? I don’t need to clone it, I backed up everything using ftp, and I want a fresh install. So I have a 1.0 with a dead HDD, I used PiPROM to recover the eeprom.bin so I can build a new drive. Is there a tutorial somewhere on adding a softmod directly to the new drive before I lock it?

I have only 1 sata adapter and want to upgrade to 1TB. I have usb adapter, and i could connect my old 2.5" hdd to my laptop and use hirens CD to clone HDD. I think it would work, it would copy all sectors, but what about formatting?

So I was just going to format my hdd for other use then suddenly BAM! xboxhdm hotswapped the drive wiped partition forgot to unlock what now.
