About Me

  1. For some reason while trying to flash a new bios to my TSOP I got a message saying 'programming failed', and now I get no picture when my console boots and the LED flashed red and green. So i'm thinking it's bricked. I was wondering if I installed a mod chip would this then save the console? I've seen an 'Aladdin XT+4032 X2 Plus' on eBay and the installation seems very simple for these chips.
  2. Hi This forum is great but i've exhuasted searching for a solution to my problem. What I would like to do is be able to boot two bios. One with the power button to launch XBMC4Gamers and one with the eject button to launch XBMC-Emustation. I've been away from the xbox mod scene for about a decade until recently but from what I understand I should be able to do this with my new aladdin mod chip. My xbox is a 1.6 so i've had to rebuild the LPC. I have modified two M8 16 bios .bin files - One 512k bios to boot to XBMC4Gamers and one 256k bios to boot to XBMC-Emustation (both 480p bios, I have Wii2HDMI internal mod) Flashed the bios files to their appropriate banks on my Aladdin XT Changed the settings from within XblastOS to allow quickboot - power button 512k bios, eject button 256k bios Regardless of what settings I change my xbox will only ever boot the 256k bios and launch XBMC4Gamers. However if i flash bank1 (256k) with the XblastOS bios the settings then it will work and I can choose which bios to boot (either XblastOS or whichever bios i have flashed to the 512k bank). I have tried to flash bank2 (OS) on the modchip with the XblastOS bios but it made no difference. Im thinking perhaps it is a problem with my soldering but i've checked my connections for continuity and they all seem fine. I have also earthed the d0 to the ground screw but the picture below was taken before I made that connection. Hopefully ive explained that okay. Its not a major issue because I can use the xbox as it is but I would like the option to boot into two dashboards, with the touch of a button, if possible. tia
  3. I made a post a few weeks back about getting a 1.6 with a HDD that immediately died after booting. Couldn’t get eeprom in time. Looks like someone was trying to tinker around and really screwed some things up. Without the wires and chip, the Xbox will boot into HDD failure error which I’m fully aware of. I tried getting two Aladdin chips fitted and neither one of them will boot. They both flash green light for a second and then power off. One chip shows red light and the other shows yellow. I’ve reflowed solder points countless times and still the same result. I’ve tried D0 grounded to board and the chip and other various places I’ve seen and read about, but nothing works. As you can see from the board, there have been several trace lifts, but from what I’ve seen I have everything linked up properly accordingly to the lifted traces. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do not want to keep the chip inside so I have not cut the L-Frame. I just want to pull the eeprom and build a replacement drive. These Aladdin chips on 1.6 are proving to be a real pain in the ass.
  4. Hi all, I've been out of the scene for ages, but recently saved a few xboxen from clock cap death and bought some aladdin chips to mod them with. Also got some SATA to PATA converters, which I haven't gotten working: proper 2 cap version with the master / slave jumper and an 80-pin cable, seems to cause a conflict with the DVD drive in every config I can think of - OGXBOX DVD shows "linux" and then DVD keep seeking back and forth forever. I thought I'd update the bios to see if that helped. I've gone through as many threads related to this topic as I can e.g. https://www.ogxbox.com/forums/index.php?/topic/3866-aladdin-flash-not-writable/ and tried the suggested solutions, but I am unable to flash a new bios to my modchip. I' going to try and provide as much information as possible as well as the things I've tried, in the hope that someone can assist. Top side of the board (this is one I haven't installed, installed one is identical with BT and D0 connected correctly, chip boots fine): Bottom side of the board: Stuck on erasing (and bios ID): Bios hashes: I'm using OGXBOX Installer 2021 DVD. Xbox is reported as 1.4. So I've tried the following: xflash for sst49fl020: seems to be able to dump the flash, but fails on flash with an "Flash check id failed, are you sure you have flash enabled?" XBlast 0.56: select evoxm8_67. when I press both triggers, start and white, the xbox reboots (wtf?) OGXBOX menu flash: gets stuck on erase as per the image above Tried the short and long power button presses, doesn't seem to change anything. "Chip: Protected" appears on the OGXBOX screen Any suggestions? I do have a minipro programmer somewhere with (I think) the correct adapter so could try that as last resort. Thanks -j
  5. I was looking at the typical Aladdin XT 2 Plus modchips that are still available/being produced for the Xbox a while ago, and I thought to myself that the wiring to permanently ground the BT pad seemed a little inelegant. I took a quick look at the traces on the PCB and lo and behold, they trace back to adjacent pins on the Lattice CPLD chip! Going forward should I ever need to install another XT 2 Plus, I'll forego the wire and just bridge those two pins.
  6. Hi there, greetings from Russia One newbie needs help I just installed Aladdin xt plus2 with new hdd 500gb via sata adaptor. Auto Installer Deluxe cd recognize my hdd and formate it with subsequent installation of dashboard but this is where the problems begin. If i try to boot i get eror 13 but if i swap hdd with dvd on ide cable (hope you can understand the wording) - everything is fine and i can boot in to EvoX. There is some boot priority and with default cable connection my bios cant find dash location or i miss something? How can i fix this ? Thank you
  7. QQ, I have what I believe a 1.4 with a bad tsop flash. Going to fit an Aladdin.# I only have to solder a wire from D0 to Ground right? Unless its a 1.5 then there's 2 more wires? Chip will be always on
  8. Hi all, As a fun educational exercise to wanted to replace the CPLD logic on the cheap AladdinXT 4032 Original Xbox modchip and convert it to a basic LCD driver, consequently it looses the ability to load a custom bios. I consider this to be something like the old X-addons generic LCD-display mods (but a fair bit simpler) The Lattice LC4032V CPLD on the cheap Alladin modchips is extremely limited, so this is a hacky bare minimum to reduce macro-cell usage to fit onto the CPLD. Therefore it can't really support any extra functionality over the bare minimum. It doesn't support backlight control (just full brightness always) It has some very basic contrast PWM control through the dashboard settings. Anyway just wanted to share what I came up with https://github.com/Ryzee119/AladdinLCD Ideally, you could design a small PCB (and maybe use a larger CPLD) to improve the installation. that is something I may do in the future
  9. Hi. When I try to boot into the dashboard the screen hangs on the xbox logo for a while and then displays the 07 error code 1 out 10 times/tries. Once I'm able to load the dashboard there are no problems. This problem has gotten worse over time and I am wondering if this points to a HDD problem. But the fact that once it has booted properly I can use it for hours with no issues or HDD failures which has me wondering if there are other issues here. The DVD searching sounds are pretty loud when I boot up the xbox. I seem to have an Aladdin XT 4032 modchip and a 1.4 or 1.5 xbox with a Focus video encoder chip. Any ideas? Help appreciated, S
  10. I'm planning to use Ryzee119's Aladdin LCD driver but want to use the Xblast modchips I have as they are essentially the same thing. I'm just looking for some help to identify the LCD connection points for the Xblast as I don't have an Aladdin chip to compare to right now. Looking for points RS, E, Vo and RW on the Xblast
  11. webwxgetvideo.mp4 It can be boot without hard disk. I can see EVO mark at the left top. And I got the 09 error. If the hard disk was conected. when I reboot the console, The xbox will be frozen at the start-screen. I try to change more cable and hard disk. Still not resolved. Please kindly help me to find this issue root casue.
  12. I messed up. Was fiddling around with configmagic trying to lock the HDD on my chipped Xbox 1.6 so I can transfer and use the HDD on my softmodded Xbox. I followed this guide here: https://www.biline.ca/xbox_uxe_hd2.htm I was able to update the EEPROM as stated and locked the HDD so it can be used on the softmodded Xbox. That worked fine. But now my chipped Xbox turns on but no picture or video whatsoever. I don't know what to do next...
  13. First of all, thank you dear community for the oportunity to be a part of something good! I have a strange problem, have xbox 1.4 with aladdin XS MODCHIP, an older modchip ,but nonetheless it is working, As i want to upgrade to larger HDD, i pot-ed thomson drive, because it was failing, i put the 80 gb hdd, but i get error 13 and/or 16, the problem is that hexen or slayers cant read dvd from the first try,and always it can read from the second, third, etc. Also reads backups and reads hexen and slayers from retail HDD. Orange light is ok,evox sign is in the left-upper corner,it tries to read dvd hexen, but gets me to error 13 or 16 (this is only when i put blank HDD instead of the retail one)? DVD TRIES TO SPIN 2-3 TIMES, BUT NO BOOT TO HEXEN OR SLAYERS DISC,THEN ERRORS FOR MISSSING DASHBOARD Is there any solution to this?would appreciate very much,i could provide any information needed, THANKS IN ADVANCE
  14. hello guys, i'm new and i'm really desperate to find a scheme for an xbox with 1.0 board...i only find scheme or videos for 1.6 ... i'm stuck i'm following this tutorial but ofc the board is different and i dunno which cable go where https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNZOVTKGeDk
  15. Hey guys, I just found this forum googling for an instruction for my modchip. Probably 14 years ago i installed this modchip and it worked fine for years. A few years ago after i moved i wanted to use my xbox again and it dind't work at all. So today I atemped another try. I reconed a loose cable which supposedly needed to be connectet to ground, which i did. Now the Xbox does boot the original bios. I can see my copied music and game saves. Trying to start it with pressing the power button for 2 seconds sometime leeds to atempt to start in whatever bios is installed on the modchip, but it restarts in the original bios. Nevertheless the LED on the modchip does light up on start. Do you have an idea how to get it to boot up with the modchip or a procedure to test if the modchip itself is actually working? Maybe you can point me to thread i missed.
  16. I have an aladdin xt4064 chip that has lcd support, from like the early-mid 2000s. It works and all, I'm trying to sell it so send me an offer for it.
  17. Hi modding noob and first time poster here..just need some help with the IGR function on this xbox 1.6 I bought used. Everytime I try to use the button combination for IGR the console goes back to the logo then the screen blanks out. I would then need to do a hardboot to get back to the dash. Another thing I noticed is I need to hold the power button for at least 2 seconds to get the chip to load the custom bios or else it would just give out an error code. Plus for some strange reason the chip isn't flashable according to evox, though I know these aladdin chips should be flashable? I'm pretty sure this has something to do with the modchip probably not wired correctly, so if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated. 136470232_800537637170333_6562823261258646262_n.mp4
  18. hey guys, i read somewhere that its possible to flash an aladdin modchip with xblast using a nand-x, i have all the parts for this but i need a pinout for the nand-x to the aladdin to flash the CPLD, can anyone help me out with this? i tried to use my old flashcatusb but i couldn't get the chip to show up.
  19. hello, i'm looking for an aladdin xblast, im from france. thanks
  20. Anyone know where I can get the original Aladdin XT Plus 2 firmware ? Looking for an .SVF for the Lattice LC4032 Thanks
  21. Alright folks, Of the numerous aladdin chips i've installed into 1.6 xboxes, i have installed the pin header with pin 4 removed, rebuilt lpc, connected bt->gnd on chip, cut the lframe trace at the xyclops chip and ignored installing the d0->gnd wire. This has always worked fine for me. Recently i have seen different and conflicting instructions on de-pinning the header. it was suggested to also remove pin 3 (lframe), 6 (5v) and 12 (gnd). I'm wondering what the benefit is and whether i need to start doing it this way? I'm presuming pin 6 has been left out so standby power isn't lighting the led, and pin 3 to disable lframe without cutting the trace? why remove the second gnd (pin 12) though? Just wondering what the consensus was on this, is this a better way to do it, is my usual way now incorrect?? Figured it was time to ask the experts! Cheers
  22. Really just double checking I've done everything correctly before going ahead with the flash on an Aladdin XT Plus2 in a v1.2/1.3 Xbox. It is an edited version of TruHeXEn's evox.m8plus.f.c.137.nodvd.bin. Changed the Xbox logo etc to match the Aladdin red chip theme, might modify this later if it doesn't look good. Also thinking about designing and importing another EvoX logo - details on how to do that are included wit the EVTool but if anyone has any additional information on this please share. Major changes are the boot priority: C:\evoxdash.xbe is default but I've changed the other two as the other HeXEn ones used are not applicable. The C:\default.xbe is UnleashX v584 whereas my main dash is UnleashX v572. I wondered if that was sensible. If the C:\config.xml they'll both use was corrupted neither would work but I'm not keen about using a different location ie. F:\ as I tend to copy/delete more stuff on that than anywhere else. Other significant change is the partitioning allocation. I don't envisage using any HDD bigger than 500GB and TBH I do not see the point of using a G:\ drive until it is actually required whatever the HDD size. So it made sense to change that to Partition 6 takes the rest of the drive instead. Size is 256KB and nothing apart from the above has been changed. I intend to use a dedicated EvoX v3935 dash for the flash rather than HeXEn simply because I do not want my dashboard messed around again as happened with the same unmodified BIOS TSOP flash I did on another Xbox. Any general comments, obvious mistakes, problems?

  24. Hello friends I opened my Xbox today to see which mod chip is installed because I bought the device used. It turned out to be a Super Aladdin live chip. I would like to install a larger hard drive with 2TB. I've already ordered the adapter and cables. Now I am wondering if I have to flash my BIOS and which one I should use on this chip. Since I almost never flash, I have to rely on external help. I have already figured out how to format the hard drive with Hexen. It looks like I have Evolution X as an app on the device, only the sign is not displayed to me when booting. My Xbox says OPENXDK at the bottom. Thank you in advance for your help.

    Aladdin XS

Hey Guys a new member here Recently I stumbled upon this forum and thought I could revive my old Xbox. After reading some threads I wanted to know which options I have to update my chipped box. I have a v1.6 and a Aladdin XS modchip but I can't find any information about it. Which possibilities do I have to get this box up to date?
