Installing Dashboards On Ind-Bios Xbox

Recommended Posts

Ok... first of all, I m sorry if this is a repeat, however I couldn't find a thread to help. Or at least it wasn't labelled under what I thought it might be.

I have a TSOP xbox with IND-BIOS. It currently has XBMC installed. However, this XBMC doesnt run all the games that I am FTPing over to the console. Most games run fine, however there is an issue with some games. XIII doesnt run, DOA2 boots then hangs after the initial disclaimer. I am looking to install another dashboard type to load up these games and hopefully boot into them, but I havent been able to do so or find anything online.

Does anyone know any 'how to for dummies' guides, or can help install another dashboard/application to allow me to boot the games that won't load? And which dashboard or applications would be best?

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried the xbmc4gamers.?

You could copy it to E drive and launch it from xbmc or set it as a default dash in the IND config file.

Cheers

Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.

Thanks for your response! I have installed XBMC4gamers but the same thing happens, on DOA2 ultimate it hangs after the disclaimer and on XIII it gets to the ubisoft sign and then doesnt load at all :( there were a few others that didnt load but i cant remember the names of the games.

At this rate I don't know if installing another dashboard would matter. I dont know if i have files missing and thats causing the issue, though most games work.

try a fresh install of the games and just check that all the files transfer, have you tried loading them in ntsc and pal?

yeah ive installed it multiple times, all the files transfer fine no error with the transfer. I know the files work as i have set me other xbox up and have played with them that way! I think there is something wrong with the xbox. I will need to have a deeper look into it. Thanks for the suggestions though!

I tested both the games using XBMC4Gamers and both got to the create character screen you probably have a bad rip or is not HDD ready.

I had problems copying over DOA Ultimate due to file name length issues, so maybe you're running into the same thing. It would freeze for me on startup as well.

Whenever I FTP games over using UnleashX it can't handle the FatX filename length limitations, but if you FTP these titles over while running XBMC or XBMC4Gamers it can intelligently work through it. Try copying it over again while in XBMC and see if that helps.

Easy solution to a game not transferring this is assuming you have a working DVD drive burn an xiso game file to a disc and you can then run it in DVD2XBOX it will rename anything to long and it will run just fine

I recently acquired a Development Kit (DVT4) and decided to take some high-quality photos of the daughter boards from this console. They're pretty rare and obscure and I wanted to take some good photos for preservation's sake. I'm going to get a Raptor PCI card soon, so I'll add photos of that too later.

      More info-
These boards were in development kits and consisted of two parts:

This allowed them to test loading scenarios and figure out where certain files for the game should be physically located on a disc in order to reduce load times. When loading a level for a game, for example, all the files needed for that level could be grouped together on the disc to reduce the amount of skipping around the laser needed to do, which decreases load times. There is also a USB port on this card. While it uses a USB connector, it's actually a JVS port. Serial debugging port This allows a developer to get debugging information from the Xbox to see how their code is behaving on real hardware. When writing software, it's useful to see technical info about when and how a bug happens in order to fix it. This board connects to a PC's serial port to read diagnostic info from the console in real time. More info: Please login or register to see this link.

Any of you consider it? I have a few Xboxes to play with and I'm really thinking of making one.

      Hello,

I have used the official component cable for my original Xbox for years without any issues, until now. This is what happens:
Please login or register to see this link.

This only seems to happen on menu's. No problems in-game so far.

At first, I thought the cable was damaged, so I bought a Kaico HDMI adapter to replace it, but this is what happens when I use it:
Please login or register to see this link.

I decided to grab my older Xbox from the attic for testing and both cables work perfectly on that console, so I think the cables are not the issue.

I'm no expert at all, so can somebody tell me what's going on with my console? Can it be fixed?
