  1. Try using the EvoxM8 plus bios as you customise it with evtool program on your PC This is how I have my EvoxM8 bios set Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  2. You ne to resolder the AC in connector. It also looks like you have wired a 1.2-1.4 supply on version 1.0 and the PowOk and PowOn are backwards. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  3. you need one of this item https://www.amazon.com/Original-Xbox-Controller-Breakaway-Cable/dp/B0064QNH68 I had one of these and it was not 100% compatible with a lot of the Xbox games . Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  4. That adaptor is use to connect a USB thumb drive as a memory card and I have used one to connect a wireless keyboard/mouse receiver as well. To connect a Xbox360 or Xbox one controller you need to make a OGX360 interface and a wireless receiver. 5. On the 1.0 - 1.1 the bios chip is a 1024kb size and most bios files are 256kb so the flashing soft where will make 4 copies to fill the chip. You could try the 3 wire trick as this makes the Xbox boot from a different bank on the bios chip. This is way of adding switches to make a poor mans X3, Open Xenium. The other option is to replace the bios chip from a salvage 1.0 - 1.1 board or remove the bios chip and use a external programmer to reflash it. 6. You can leave the Xbox soft modded until the Xbox has been hard modded then you will need to remove the soft mod files as most soft mods and hard mods don't play nice with each other.. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  7. If you are going to fit a mod chip then you don't need to soft mod it 1st. Although if you can solder a modchip it's less soldering to reflash the bios on a 1.0-1.4 and the 1.2 - 1.4 you don't have to remove the main board as the 2 links are on the top of the board and you can even use a conductive pain to make the 2 links need. 8. Quick answer its Yes Download and burn a copy of the OGXbox installer 2021 v1.5.3 to a DVD-r as slow as the software will allow. Yes but it's not really necessary to reflash the bios unless you are upgrading the hard drive. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  9. If you re re-flashing the on board bios you 1sst add the 2 links to the board then flash the new bios file, Once it's re flashed the load a installer disk like the OGXbox installer 2021 and it has a remove soft mod option. If you fit a mod chip you can load the same disk after fitting it and use it to remove the soft mod files. 10. Yes the metal cage is connected to the negative side of the board. As the Xbox has a 2 pin power connecter that can be connected either way around it's not grounded anyway the only items in most houses that are grounded are electric heaters, cookers/ovens, hot water heaters and that type of appliance or any small item that has a 3 pin plug at both ends like this. The chance of damaging the board from static would be extremely low so as the others have said don't worry. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  11. Try using a DVD-r (I use Verbatim DVD-r) as DVD-rw is really a hit and miss with Xbox drive even when they where new. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  12. I would spend a little bit more and get this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B096JWV3HS/ref=sspa_dk_detail_4?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B096JWV3HS&pd_rd_w The iron looks a better one and uses the Hakko tip's, it also has a temperature display. The solder sucker (Desoldering pump)also is better Other items you should look for are 0.8mm 60/40 solder ( Not lead free), Flux paste Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  13. When you fitted the Xblast lite mod chip did you connect the D0 from the main board to the modchip or directly to ground. Can you upload some pic's on the main board and PSU Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  14. The only caps you need to worry about is the 5 near the heatsink/power connector. The red circles are the ones that need to be replaced. The clock cap on the one I tested is not grounded. I would not worry about changing the cap's in the PSU and if you touch the metal cage/shield before handling the main board that will discharge any static in your body. Unless you commonly get electric shocks around where you are working on the Xbox I would not worry about damaging the board from a static. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  15. All the caps that are circled in red and yellow have the negative lead connected to ground. The caps with the red circles need replacing and even if only 1 or 2 look bad change all of them. The caps with the black/grey arrows occasionally need replacing as well. Lastly the gold coloured cap in the purple star is the clock cap and if it shows any sign of bulging like the caps in red it also needs replacing. 16. If you include the SMD and ceramic caps I would say of the 100 plus 75% would be grounded. The main board is reasonably well protected from damage from a static discharge, If you are prone to getting a electric shocks from touching stuff in your house then I would recommend you touch a grounded device before you handle any PCB's. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  17. The 2004A you have will work fine but you will need to trim some of the PCB to make it easier to fit. When I made mine I ended up using the smaller LCD as it was easier to fit and in my view look neater. Small LCD Full size LCD This is the front panel that I used to practice on. You don't use the small PCB supplied with the LCD and you use a Arduino Pro Micro Leonardo as the interface from the Open Xenium it the LCD. In the GitHub that Ryzee119 put together there is a link to a PCB maker that will make the blank board for you or you can connect it up with wires like I did by following this diagram from Ryan's GitHub. https://github.com/Ryzee119/spi2par2019 Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  18. Tries to Boot 3x then FRAG (Christmas Lights) Usually due to a failed or improperly installed modchip or the IDE cable being plugged in upside down somewhere. Check modchip wiring and IDE cables. If you did not do any soldering, it could be a bad PSU What happens if you boot with both drives disconnected? 19. Open the Microsoft Dash and make sure the time zone is set correctly. Settings, Clock, Time Zone. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  20. Can you see the Xblast menu when you power on. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  21. I tested the X2-5035.67 and Ind 5004.67, Ind 5003.67 patched bios files and both Outrun 2 Beta and Ghost Squad load the start of the game Xbox specs: 128meg ram, internal wii2hdmi, 3tb HDD, Open Xenium, Version 1.4, xbmc4gamers dash. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  22. You could try spraying some contact cleaner or even use isopropyl in the switches and work then back and forward a few times. Also check the soldering of the LPC rebuild. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  23. Short answer is NO a soft-mod / stock bios needs to see at least a working board from a DVD drive. If you reflash the onboard bios on a 1.0 - 1.4 or fit a mod chip on any version 1.0-1.6 then you can remove the DVD completely. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  24. This should help Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  25. What dash is the Xbox running? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
