  1. It sound like the capacitors next to the heat sink have failed. Can you upload a picture of the main board? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  2. At the hard drive 4 pin connector the black wires a 0 volt (ground ) and the yellow wire is 12 volt are the only connections you need. It should not blow and transistors on the main board. 3. What happens if you launch Xblast from the open Xenium? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  4. It would help people with a Xbox for sale if you add your location as shipping can be a killer. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  5. My bad So there is, I am used to the non 1.6 boards. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  6. The 3 caps next to the CPU and the 1(the 2 caps) next to the 20 pin power connector need replacing. All capacitors are going to fail and they are the weakest component in any electronics. Xbox EvoX Fix?

You need to change the video to NTSC from Pal and you will also need a component AV lead. I suggest using the OGXbox 2021 v1.5.4 installer disk as there is a live apps section that can be used to change the video settings. You can download a copy from here https://1fichier.com/dir/mX1kipIz I also suggest you use a brand name DVD-r like the Verbatim DVD-r and set the write speed as slow as possible, Not many OG-Xbox DVD drives will read a DVD+r or DVD-rw disks. 8. The clock cap would not have been working any and even from new the Xbox would only keep the time for hours anyway, As long as the AC in is connected and it's powered on at the wall it will keep time. If you use xbmc4gamers and the Xbox is connected to your home network it will set the clock from the net on boot. 9. The version 1.0 boards came with the LPC port holes filled with solder. Apply fresh 60/40 solder with extra flux paste then you can use solder wick to clear the holes. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  10. A detachable Thin Small Outline Package? The bios chip is just a eeprom and it happens to be a Thin Small Outline Package size. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  11. I have seen that as well many years ago at computer fairs there was always someone mod-chipping the OG Xbox and PS1's along as people doing PC repairs. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.

  13. It's sounding like a solder issue on the LPC port. Also have the capacitors next to the heat sink been replaced? You probably should post some pic of the solder work. If you upload the pics to a share site like postimages.org and then add the link here. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  14. You may need to solder the wires as per the 3 wire pic that way you can select the different banks to try. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  15. 9 quid to much unless that includes shipping Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  16. What's your bid up to 1/2 a cheese burger including postage and even at that they are ripping you off. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  17. That's correct there is no need for the D0 wire from the mod chip. The more I read this post it's sounding like the bios in bank one is corrupt and could probably be fixed with a re-flash but with out been able to boot a install disk it's going to be a pain. If you can get you hands on a Xbox that has a modchip or even borrow a modchip so you can load a install disk you can then hot swap the modchip to re-flash it. Boot the Xbox with the new chip Now load a bios flash program like Xblast and get to the point where it asks you to confirm to write the new bios file. Now without switching off the Xbox you unplug the new modchip and carefully plug the old chip on the pin header. Now commit to the bios flash. 18. You can upload the video to a file share or you tube and post the link here. I have seen the main filter cap's ( the ones next to the GPU/CPU)cause that issue as well. Is the Xbox hard modded or soft modded? What video output have you set in the M$ dash? What AV lead Component or Composite ? Try disabling 720, 1080 Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  19. If you want the chip always on with a DuoX2 you link the BT on the modchip to 3.3volt (pin9) and then connect the D0 on the main board to ground or the D0 on the mod chip if the Xbox is a 1.0-1.4 , On the 1.6 I cut the lframe trace as apparently grounding the D0 on a 1.6 could cause damage. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  20. I suspect the HDD is failing. Try and power on the Xbox with the HDD unplugged when cold and see if the noise is still there. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  21. On a DuoX2 the red led flashing on the mod chip normally means the chip is powered on. And normally when you press eject the Xbox boots the original BIOS from the mother board and power on with the power button enables the mod chip. I think Bank 1 is a 1.6 bios and bank 2 is 1.0-1.4 only bios. It would help if you uploaded some pic's of the LPC solder work. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  22. You should not need to redo the bios, I would check the soldering as MadMartigan suggested Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing. .
  23. I can read it ok, Just use the slider below each line of text. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing
  24. What voltages have you got on the Gray and Green wires? On the green wire you should have around 3 volt The Gray wire (the one closest to the heat sink ) should get around 3 volt when you press the power or eject button.
