About Me

  1. It has literally been over 10 years since I've played it. One of the bootup screens says "Xecutor2" at the bottom, so that tells me that much at least. My main question is the three (3) dip switches on the front of the console. Someone else installed it for me, and I forget what each of them does. I think that the left-most one controls whether or not the modchip is active; you wanted to toggle that one off if you ever went onto XBox Live, I think. Can anyone help?
  2. *Disclaimer: No links to file will be provided, this is for discussion only* Not sure if anyone has yet, but I have been running a diff between Barnabus Kernel Repack and the 4400 leak Kernel Tree.. I've only just started looking through, and I have next to no C++, C and C# coding skills so bear with me lol They seem somewhat the same, but there are quite a few files with parts of code removed or added, on both branches. But Barnabus is reliant on precompiled objects (obviously as it's a smaller, almost stripped down and made 'easy' release of the full tree) There are some comments in Barnabus code that isn't in the full tree + CPXXUPD code, and some are recorded more 'formally' (i.e private\ntos\init\init.c line 244 - 254 in both branches) One other thing is the 4400 tree is set to have 'complex's' edits definable where possible, which there are a lot.. One thing that really interests me, is Barnabus uses BIOSPack to pack: 2bl, remainder and kernel into a 'Working' rom (I use that word loosely). The 4400 tree uses rombld, which requires: preloaded, init table, bootloader, kernel and a rom decode file(I think).. this is a drastic difference to BIOSPack.. But the main issue with Rombld is it will not produce a full rom.. by default it will error on the 'preloader' being to big (9008 bytes not 1664 bytes).. To get around that, we can either build for XDK Systems.. Or as I discovered today: modify 'private\sdktools\rombld\rombld.cpp' Line 879 from (2 * 1024) to (21 * 512), to allow rombld to accept the 9kb preloader file.. (I haven't tested a bios rom built with this edit yet) I will post here anything else I discover!
  3. Hi there, so today I upgraded my Xbox’s hard drive to a 2TB WD blue and in unleash X, it’s showing just 500gb available to use as storage. But when I set up the hard drive using hexen, XBpartioner let me choose 900gb partitions for F and G. Is there something I’ve done wrong to not allow the hard drives full capacity? My Xbox had a duo x2 chip and I’m on my bank that has evox bios installed. I didn’t install this chip so I’m unsure of what version of Evox this has. any help in much appreciated. Thanks in advance

  5. Hello everyone I wanted to show off my mini classic that I made. It is made from a 3d Printed case that I modeled. https://imgur.com/undefinedhttps://imgur.com/undefinedhttps://imgur.com/7GPs7sP I gave it some primer https://imgur.com/cTubiRv and some paint https://imgur.com/SDab5EQ https://imgur.com/Mek1KPw https://imgur.com/6kHrZN9 https://imgur.com/67ZuHwx Then I went the extra step and made a box for it and had it printed https://imgur.com/AK4X2Ro https://imgur.com/AURtsGc https://imgur.com/J3FOBmy Finally if you are interested, I made a video of me putting it together
  6. A friend gave this modded Xbox but didn't know much about it. I've had soft modded ones. but don't know much about the hard ones myself either. It has a larger hard drive. When you turn it on it gives the 09 error and ring flashes red and yellow. Someone told me that button should be held on the controller when you turn on the Xbox but isn't sure which ones. Would that cause the 09 error? Thanks for any help.
  7. Hello, guys Today I updated my softmoded Xbox with Rocky5 softmod and xbmx4gamers ...everything was ok, until I started to download artwork downloader which is over 600 mb and placed it in E: In the same time I uploaded a game with size of 4gb by mistake in E: again instead of F: So, now the xbox starts green animation and flashes like to start the dashboard, but continue on black screen. My only suggestion is that I consumed the entire E: and on that drive is the xbmc4gamers folder, too....I dont know, but if the dashboard need some space on start maybe that cause the black screen...any ideas to help??? Also, is it possible to connect the hdd to a pc and xplorer360 app to erace that game from E: and to make some space on that drive??? Any help is welcome! Thank you in advance!!!

  9. Hey so I have a 1.0 and the main fan header isn't working. Can I just replace the mosfet or is there a greater issue?
  10. Which Xbox dvd drive uses top-60 laser? I found a lot of eBay and Ali express listings for the top-60 laser but without specifying which disc drive is compatible. What are your experiences buying refurb/new optical lasers for the Xbox?
  11. Hi, managed to get my hands on an X3 / X3CP xbox console, just playing around with it at the moment but needing a bit of advice for my next steps. ive put a 160gb ide in and used AID to format and install a dash (unleashx for now), ive also used the white button on boot to bring up the x3 config live and have a little mess with the settings. (a) firstly its installed on a 1.0 board with fan on GPU, im not a big fan of that board so was thinking of uninstalling and re-installing on a 1.4, worth the hassle? (b) the faraday cage is rusty so need to take it all apart anyway however the chip is sticky-padded onto the cage, best way to remove? possibly sharp knife down the back of it? also the front control panel will need removing to get to the cage, do they clip on / off as easy as the original? ive noticed some original faceplates are more brittle than others, the last thing i want to do is crack it trying to remove it! (c) the lcd display, all ive managed to get out of it so far is 2 lines of text, ive seen people running temperature displays etc, how is this done?, does this depend on the dash / xml files associated with the lcd? (d) I have a 500gb xbox running a nice build of xbmc4gamers but console is soft modded so what dashboard files need to change for the dash to boot on a hard modded console, ie the EVOXDASH.XBE etc
  12. Hello guys, I just upgraded my softmodded Xbox to a 500gb sata drive. Everything works great but.. it takes like 30 seconds to boot up which is kind of annoying. Could this be because of the sata adapter I'm using? I'm using an 80-wire ide cable so I know that's not the issue. Or are slower boot times normal? I haven't modded one of these for years. Just wondering, thanks.
  13. Hi everyone! I have a 1.4 with trace issues, upon plugging in the power it starts automatically and when it's off, will occasionally boot at random. I managed to repair one trace as a preventative but not the 3 needed to ensure it's not an issue anymore, I found them too hard to work on https://imgur.com/gallery/ExATwa6 (not my pictures, just as an example!) I did the equivalent of the white wire and blue, is there another place to solder the other green/purple equivalent connections? It would be on the other side of the board I assume.
  14. Hey guys, Wyverino here I am fairly new to the xbox modding scene. My gf just gifted me an old premodded 1.1 for christmas and I love it so far. I just want to tweak it a little more to make it my hopefully favorite console! Wish all of you guys a happy new year!
  15. Hey there everyone. I watched a video on YouTube on a Modded Xbox. During the initial startup of the Xbox, it shows an animation and a custom dashboard. Does anyone know how to add the animation before the menu shows up and how to customize the menu?? I have never seen this before except for this video. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you. Here is a Link to the Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uw91sVm2fkI&t=1s Starts at 8:03 minutes Thanks Again!!
  16. Hi everyone. Recently I've been watching some ModernVintageGamer videos on YouTube and really wanted to get out of the drawer my old modchipped Xbox. It wasn t booting anymore because of a dvd reader failure(error 11 and 12) so I got a used xbox for spare parts off eBay,got the dvd player out of it and put it in my Xbox. The Xbox boots but it won't read even original disks. My question is how do I understand what modchip is installed? Can I run any sort of homebrew via USB and upgrade my HDD ? Thanks in advance.
  17. So i have got an xbox revision 1.0 for parts. Inside the motherboard was pretty much immaculate with non-leaked clock cap. Sadly the xbox just FRAGged. I did lots of troubleshooting including dumping the eeprom with raspberry pi, testing it with different psu or trying the TSOP bank split trick for coma console. I thought, that the TSOP must be faulty so i ordered aladdin xt. However the holes on 1.0 are filled with solder and hard to clean up. In the end, i soldered each leg of the pinheader individually. It looks ugly, but there are at least pretty wet solder joints and modchips do fit in it. Sadly it still frags. Images: I have: 1. Grounded the bottom d0 point 2. Grounded BT on the aladdin 3. Tested the aladdin in my 1.6 and then reflashing it with indbios 4. Replaced a R7D4 resistor i accidentally desoldered I also remember, there was possibly a short at Q7R1 part. I fixed it, but two pins next to each other are still shorted according to multimeter. The two pins are those closest to the Q in the Q7R1 marking (left down side on the bottom side picture)

  19. Looking to sell my X3CP xbox. It's a 1.6 with a 2tb hdd and startech sata to IDE adapter with 80 wire IDE cable. The hdd isn't a fully loaded one, it allows you to put the content on that you want but does have xbmc4gamers front end and a few games/emulators on there. The Xerc 2 XE allows you to turn the console on/off via the official dvd remote and also fades the eject button LED's on and off when in standby. No controllers included, but I can include a dvd remote if required (albeit with out battery cover) Video of the actual xbox here: £350 plus postage from the UK. Postage will depend where you are obviously. PM for more info
  20. How can I safely remove the round green Xbox emblem from case? Thx in advance...
  21. After 15 years ive pulled my xbox out the box. Still running clean. Its a 1.6 running xecuter 3. Clock keeps resetting and wont store in memory which i (let me no if there is a fix for it) Hard drive has been upgraded to a 320gb ide hd but i might swap it for a 1tb
  22. Practically I have to acquire a certain game (Tenchu - Return from Darkness)... which could be (I'm not sure) the same as "Tenchu - Fatal Shadows" for PS2... but I'm not sure, so has anyone played this game to know if there's anything different than the PS2 version (like... new chars, new missions, new story, new gameplay etc...) ? Also, is there any game/series which is relevantly different between the Xbox and the 6th gen counterparts versions (PS2 and GC, if I'm not missing any other console like... the Gizmondo! lol, jk with this one)
  23. I have a Dev Kit and a Debug Kit, and I've decided that I don't really need both so I'm selling my Debug Kit. I plan on listing it on eBay, but wanted to give folks here a chance at it first in hopes it goes to a collector here that is looking for one. The labels on the bottom are punctured (by me during repair), but I can provide a replica label set for a small fee (labels will show console's actual serial number). When I acquired it, it was fragging. The HDD ended up being the culprit, so I replaced it with one from a stock Xbox and installed the XDK Dashboard. It currently boots up and runs just fine. I will include the original HDD that came with it in case you want to try to get it working. If you can fix the HDD, it may still have interesting stuff on it. On the HDD that is in it, I have it modded so that it will run retail games and apps (in addition to debug games). Aside from fixing it, I also cleaned the Xbox inside and out thoroughly. I used to repair game consoles for a living for a company for a few years, so rest assured it was well taken care of. The clock cap was leaking when I got it. I removed it, cleaned the residue and there don't seem to be any trace-rot symptoms. I can also install a new clock-cap if asked. The case is in great condition overall. There is a small crack on the back right next to the case screw (the top is the same as Halo/EU units and could be swapped if someone really wanted to). Can provide more photos if needed. I do not know which studio this Xbox came from. I purchased it from its original owner (according to the seller). When asked, here's what he said about the unit: The seller didn't respond to my questions later after I bought it. I recently reached back out to him to ask for more details. Will update this thread if he replies. I can provide seller references if needed. I also have a 100% reputation eBay seller account (same username) since 2009. You can find me in various og Xbox forums going back to xbox-scene. I have an idea of what I think this is worth but am looking for offers. Please no low-ball offers. I'm not looking to rip anyone off, but don't plan on undervaluing it either. If no reasonable offers come through, I'll be putting it up on eBay. Will be shipped via FedEx (unless otherwise arranged). Shipping from Arizona (USA) w/ tracking, insurance, and signature-required delivery. Will be packaged safely for transit. Payments through PayPal. Thanks!
  24. Hello people of OGxbox.com It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance. I recently picked up this crystal XCM with display, Executer bios chip modded xbox from an electronics receclying center. When I saw it, it caught my eye and it was in being sold as "As-is for parts or repair" because they couldnt figure out how to boot it up. I thought it would be a fun project to get it working again. When i picked it up I had no idea it had a mod chip and I was perplexed by the buttons on the case (and still kind of am). But anyway I figured out how to flash the bios and now have it running XBMC. I found this forum by googling Xbox XCM case to try and find out more about it. I came across this thread. https://www.ogxbox.com/forums/index.php?/topic/876-xcm-third-party-shells-xbox-custom-mods/ I was intrigued by this line "Finding an XCM shell in worthy condition (Not cracked or Yellowed) is hard to find nowadays and can fetch for a high price." So i did a little more research and found another post on this forum which I am unable to find again of people talking about price tags for these being around 500$ and one user was willing to pay "top dollar" for a red or a crystal one. I thought that was pretty cool that I had something that seems to be rare. But even more interesting is I could only find one picture on the internet of an XCM shell with these buttons and the LCD display. which makes me curious of the value since people are talking about ~500$ for one without the display. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-PAL-Xbox-with-XCM-Red-Crystal-Top-Case-Xblast-230V/402526075343?hash=item5db86c79cf:g:RrgAAOSw6rZfnmmR https://amp.reddit.com/r/originalxbox/comments/b389fb/xcm_aftermarket_shell_value/ So I am curious what is the value and rarity of this style in this condition? Also what exactly are the buttons for on the left? From what i gather they have something to do witht the bios memory banks? Thank you very much.
  25. Hello, it's meee.. lol, no Adele, just kidding I was wondering: what are the Xbox-only games (exclusive games made only for Xbox and not for other consoles, only playable on an Xbox) which really deserve to be played and why... VS which games of the same category should be avoided (as they're cr*ppy or just unplayable, bad, lame, etc...) Asking this question because, of course, I've already played a game which I forgot I had for another console and I want to play Xbox authentic games (while maybe leaving the rest for other consoles or PC equals). You can leave a little review and a gameplay screen of each game , so I can have a direct knowledge/preview of the game (especially as regards graphics, as I saw some exclusive games have really their own graphic style ,for that generation of consolles, which is unseen on other consoles)
