Hey guys, I just installed UnleashX like back in the day, only to find out about XBMC. I was just wondering besides being visually stunning how does it compare to UnleashX?

Hi all, has anyone managed to come up with some good youtube-dl settings for downloading video that play nicely on the xbox? I've done some googling and really need to dig a bit deeper but thought I'd check here first. I'm imagining the downloaded media will need to be run though ffmpeg with some specific switches to get a container and bitrate the xbox can handle. Thanks.

I am in the process of setting up Rocky5's excellent XBMC Emustation dashboard and am finishing it off with the C64 section at the moment. Is there a way to get the nice cover art like you can for the other emulators which I have had the luxary of fixing easily thru the downloads on XBMC Emustation?

I've got a question about shortcuts on xbmcorigins with UI update installed. Is it normal to only be able to select games as shortcuts? I know emulators require custom addon.xml to do it, but I am actually trying to have apps available as shortcuts. Like DVD2Xbox and other stuff. I don't know how to write an addon.xml, so even if it would make the apps show up as selectable I won't be able to do it. Is there some kind of template I can follow to learn how to write one? Another quick question, since I only use coinops for emulation, could I place the folder in F\Games so it shows up with the other games?

Hi all. im currently using xbmc emustation on one of my soft modded xboxes. i want to add a bunch of Xbox titles but don’t want them all in one folder on dash carousel. is there anyway I can edit the carousel to have say three Xbox images and links for # - F, H- O, P- X for instance to make it easier to scroll through games I want? i know you can jump to a letter, but that’s no the way I’d prefer. any help would be appreciated. I finally got around to setting up my xbmc with the origin skin and the updated UI. It works great and looks amazing, but when I have it set as my default dash it boots to a black screen. I've tried using hexen 2019 & 2020 to set it as default and both have the same out come.

Hi guys after succesfully tsop my crystal og xbox 1.4 i was trying to re-install xbmc4gamer and when i try to install it in partition e i get an error of cannot copy D and is not working. Only way i found it to work is if i install it as an app but then im unable to have it on boot Anyone knows why? Forgot to say im using rocky tools extra disk for installing xbmc Thanks

I have a chip modded xbox that when powered up will go to the MS dash board. If you hold the power button down a few seconds it will activate the chip and will boot-up, turning the XBOX logo blue and if there is a game in the DVD drive it will load the game. If there is no game in the drive then it will go to the MS dash board. How do I get the Xbox to load the xbmc dash board when the mod chip is activated? I have tried Auto Installer Deluxe v 4.45 to install the dash boards from the disc to the E: retail hard drive but none have worked, when I re-start the xbox with mod chip activated it will go to the MS dash board. I have tried to use the Hexen 2018 installation disc, but the xbox will not read the disc. Please could someone help me to set up the dash board so that when the mod chip is activated it will boot to xbmc dash board? If you can help, please explain in simple terms because I am not good at these things, a total novice. Thank You.

Hey guys I'm running into an issue using hddguru raw copy an it get to about 14% And comes up with this error in the picture below I've tried multiple hard drives and I am now wondering if it's the torrent I downloaded. Has anyone else had these issues and might know how to fix them. Your help is much appreciated thank you for your time

Hi All, I am not sure how to set the thumbnail for the "My Games" shortcut tile on the home page of the XBMC Origins skin. Currently, the shortcut has no image. The XML code below is from home.xml. I have tried to set the path for the icon tag, but my PNG image (xbox.png) never appears. What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated. Thank you. Okayyy so I downloaded the xbox origins and most of it works perfecly, But I got a backup of my savegames and I want to restore my savegames from my childhood. I made a backup using my OLD harddisk which was softmodded and used UnleashX to connect to my PC using ftp. Then I used XBSM45 Savegamemanager and succesfully downloaded all my savegames... Then I put the 2tb origins hard drive back in and used the same program, but now to restore / upload all the savegames... Now I cannot say it was a total faillure...because a lot of savegames are great! rollercoaster or gta san andreas for example... But other games like need for speed or rallisport challenge.. On these games I might see my username, but no scores or whatever... Does anyone know why this is?

After TSOP (unleashx and evox m8+ f and G) Bios,fitting a new hdd to my xbox I installed XBMC trough hexen2018. But there are a few questions I have considering the coöperation between these 2 dashes. UnleashX is my main dash and XBMC is installed as an app. Since I am new too the XBOX Scene, I don't know what I will use as my main Dash. There are a few things I can't work out. If I exit XBMC it switches to the standard MS dash, not the evolution dash. Is this something I can configure XBMC gives menu options for applications and emulators. But I don't see the applications I have installed on my unleash dashboard here. Is it just pointing at a different location or is there something wrong/ do they mean other type of applications. It would be nice that when I Rip a game, install an emulator they will appear both on unleashx and on XBMC.. If I push the eject button on my xbox, sometimes it reboots. Somebody knows something about that?

hello I just wanted to say thank you to Dom Dxecutioner, for creating XBMC ORIGINS skin, credit where credit is due. so my problem is a two fold problem, the 1st being that when I set a shortcut on the home screen, it sets the shortcut just fine, however the image is not displaying (yes I have posters and images in the file for it) the second part is that the script for downloading my XBL avatar, Gamerscore, and recently played games, will not display because the script fails. can anyone give DETAILED instructions as to how I fix this thank you for your time

These past few weeks have been a real voyage of rediscovery as I hadn't softmodded an xbox in years and the scene has changed so much - Rocky 5 was completely new to me. I was wondering how to go about installing XBMC on startup - which version is the best etc... Sorry for sounding like such a noob but this is all new to me again. I have coin ops, games and emulators like the Megadrive and Snes already installed. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi im new to this forum but not new to modding . soon I will be installing an alladin plus x2 chip in my version 1.6 xbox therefore hard modding it . I seen where people are putting xbmc origins on their softmodded x boxes but find little information on getting a dashboard as such on it after I hard modded it ? so please 1.could somebody point me towards a prebuilt xbmc origins with instructions on how to install after I have successfully hard modded my xbox note: I will be using a ide to sata adapter to use a 2 tb hd or larger in the system 2. I plan to ftp my game files over to the hd another question I have. Can I use the hard drive as an external hard drive after I have installed a front end and transfer all my files at once with an external sata to usb adapter ? Hi, I have XBMC running as my main dash. In the UnleashX dash which I can load to from the file explorer, there is a XBMC heading that doesn't work, to get it to load XBMC do I just load a XBMC xbe and cfg to the C or E partition? Thanks in advance. G

Hi everyone, I just introduced myself in the "new members" section. And now I have a bunch of questions covering different topics. I have a softmodded XBOX that I modded like ten years ago. I do not remember what softmod, what exploit, did I tsop-flash...? My setup is as follows: XBOX 1.2-1.5, 2.5"Sata-hdd, laptop-dvd-drive, VGA-connector on the back with a DIP-switch to choose vga-video-mode (so obviously i did a tsop-flash?), and usb-connectors on port 3 and 4. Everything is running again after some major issues. The box is booting to xbmc 3.0 and I can watch movies and play games from HDD (I can not find my game-dvds). But since I can not remember what softmod is installed, or what bios is flashed I want to start over. I only want to keep my games from the HDD. My plans are as follows: backup games via FTP, backup eeprom, install a new softmod, NULL the hdd-code, ( I may want to upgrade the 160GB hdd at some point), rebuild the HDD from scratch, install the latest XBMC is this the best order? what are the best methods for doing so? what software do I need (Tool-DVDs ?)

I ran a game on CoinOPS and the screen went black .When I restarted the system the system couldn’t see the entire f drive (the section where my emulators were).The rest of the sections function correctly.I tried to ftp and the computer saw the contents once then when I looked again it could no longer see it.The system still says that there is something taking up space on the drive.I was wondering if there was anything I could do?I have a lot of time and effort in this build over 200gb of stuff has been put on there.I am running unleash x and xbmc4 .The system has a 500 gb ide hard drive.The console has been softmodded.

So i was researching some more one XBMC and i found out there now KODI for media centers would there be a way to Connect to the video streaming sights we use on a Firestick on out Xboxs loaded with Xbmc?!!?!

I knew this was extremely hard for me to get my hands on. I've looked all over the Internet for wide custom banners. I found a few but they were missing quite a bit. I had to get a little bit from this guy a little bit from that guy and made my own bundle. In this ZIP file is not my entire wide set. Just the ones I had very hard time finding I wanted to share this with the group because I made them myself. I could not find any online. In this download you will find borders 4 wide icons for XBMC. Some of the icons are coin-ops. Premium. Hyper vision ninja and ninja gold. Even adults only with neon lights... I hope that somebody can actually use these. This way I did not waste a bunch of time just making it for myself. Please seed this as much as possible and share as much as possible. I came across this skin a little while ago and I really like the look of it, but I was hoping someone could help me with the video previews. I have them working, if you move over and click on the game preview, but in the thread below there is come code that enables you to view the previews by just pressing down on the dpad.
