About Me

  1. I've noticed many games for the XBox like Otogi, Forza Motorsport, Amped and so on are really difficult (somebody also says Ninja Gaiden Black, but I haven't tried it). Despite their quality in graphics and sounds, they're actually frustrating to play for those like me who just want to have some fun (or can't spend their whole intellectual energy). So, what are some good games, not necessarily hyped in graphics, even "mediocre" or average ones which are actually fun to play ? I mean games with a balanced difficulty and normal gameplay, something you shouldn't spend your whole life in it, something that doesn't leave a feeling of frustration, something that really made you say "wow this was fun" after you finished it, something that you can actually finish (lol, because some of those games require entire months to be finished)... know any worthy of being mentioned ? Like somebody else said " gaming is about fun, if it's fun no more then I should be paid for playing them "... you got the paradox, right ? you know, some games you shouldn't devote your life to but just.. play, you know especially from this list, as I'm interested in xbox-only games (games which aren't for PC or PS2/GC) Category:Xbox-only games - Wikipedia
  2. Hello, I picked up a modded 1.0 Xbox and I find the amount of system noise to be more than I want to tolerate. One mod that I heard mentioned was that the gpu heat sink and fan can be replaced with a passive solution that uses a ‘IGP’ heatsink. I can’t find good details on this. Does the OGXbox community have experience with this that can be shared? If this is a viable solution, can someone point me to a tutorial or provide details?
  3. Hello. I would like to have a folder on my PC with xbox games and I want to know if it is possible to connect my xbox via internet to the PC with some kind of internet browser and insert a ip or something and copy the xbox games from my PC to the Xbox. I have my console connected to the internet with ethernet cable. I know it is possible to connect both with crossover cable but I am talking if I have my PC on the living room and my xbox on my room. Thanks.
  4. Hi, I'm having a really strange issue with some OpenXenium I've built that is driving me crazy. Basically, after flashing XeniumOS with Xenium Tool and hotswap method, on the first boot the modchip works fine: XeniumOS is loaded, I can flash other bios (and I can boot them!), so everything works as intended. However, if I reboot the Xbox the chip doesn't work anymore and the console FRAG. If I reflash XeniumOS it works again at first boot, but - as before - when rebooting xbox everything I get is a FRAG. I tried turning on with eject button or recovery switch, but nothing change. I tried different dump of XeniumOS and used also the official release of 2.3.1 XeniumOS. It simply acts as a modchip without any bios. It's really something strange because this is happening with all of the five chips I've assembled, with exactly the same behaviour. Thinking of a bad batch of Xilinx or flash I bought another set, but even with them I've the same issue. I really can't understand what's going on. It's like the flash get corrupted after every first boot of XeniumOS. The Xbox boots without any issues with Aladdin Xblast (which I use to do the hotswap method), so I don't think it's something related to the console. I've upgraded RAM to 128MB, but I don't think it's a problem for openxenium. I program the CPLD with a DIY Xilinx Parallel programmer and Impact (using .jed or .svf) without any error and CPLD works fine, it's recognised by xenium tools, I can change the colour of the LED etc. Any suggestions? I've searched on the internet, but could not find anything useful. Thanks
  5. I'm trying to play this NTSC game on my hardmodded PAL console, but when I boot the game up from the game disc, the console simply reads it as a video and loads the DVD portion of the disc. I tested the disc on my vanilla PAL Xbox as well, and even on that console, the same thing happens with (there's no region error screen, it just plays the familiar screen shown in the link). I haven't had any problems playing NTSC games from the game disc on my modded Xbox previously, so I don't understand what the problem is. Any ideas? Thanks.
  6. So I finally ordered two complete OGX360 sets, one for each of my OG Xbox consoles. When looking for the usb wireless adapter (the only thing the kit doesn't come with besides a controller), they are freaking expensive. I can't find the OEM Microsoft accessories for less than $40 each refurbished. There are plenty of generic ones, but considering how hit or miss the aftermarket wired controllers are for the OG Xbox, I am apprehensive to buy non OEM accessories. Does anyone have experience with the aftermarket 360 wireless adapters that can shed some light on whether they work as they are supposed to with the OGX360? Does anyone know if the below linked adapter will work? https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Wireless-Adapter-Windows-Renewed-one/dp/B07JKKKTWQ/ref=pd_sbs_63_6/131-1984250-1160567?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07JKKKTWQ&pd_rd_r=e5efc1ff-244a-4d37-9bd6-bce71e6094f4&pd_rd_w=xrcz6&pd_rd_wg=Y7DqX&pf_rd_p=bdc67ba8-ab69-42ee-b8d8-8f5336b36a83&pf_rd_r=WDHYWXS24CWQ98YEDBH8&psc=1&refRID=WDHYWXS24CWQ98YEDBH8
  7. Hi I'm in the UK and have a v1.4 PAL box with an Aladdin modchip - will I be able to play NTSC iso files on this setup or do I need to stick to PAL versions Thanks
  8. I messed up. Was fiddling around with configmagic trying to lock the HDD on my chipped Xbox 1.6 so I can transfer and use the HDD on my softmodded Xbox. I followed this guide here: https://www.biline.ca/xbox_uxe_hd2.htm I was able to update the EEPROM as stated and locked the HDD so it can be used on the softmodded Xbox. That worked fine. But now my chipped Xbox turns on but no picture or video whatsoever. I don't know what to do next...
  9. Hello, so i bought a modded xbox off someone and instantly started messing. I booted up rocky5s dashboard and liked it, i followed a guide to get it to boot into rocky5s dashboard on start up but i clearly did something wrong and replaced the wrong file as it reset and then im stuck on a bootup loop. It goes as far as saying evox in the top left and then resets so i have no time to get into ftp and restore what i did. Could anyone advise me what to do please. As i said i bought if off someone so i didnt mod it myself Thanks
  10. Hi all I was playing Black earlier (great game) and left it for a while, came back and it was frozen. Not too surprised. So a couple of restarts later and it's just getting worse. To the point where I can only get into XBMC for a minute or two, but can't launch a game without it freezing. At this point I can still hold the white button and get into the X3 boot menu. The power supply looks in a bad way, and I have an identical model lying around, so I swap it out and - no dice, pretty much the same thing as before. Try changing the hard drive: Acts up a lot, get one or two boots out of it before i'm back to square one again. Notice I can still boot into that blue screen where you can flash stuff, I figured maybe my BIOS had gone bad with all the freezes and restarts. Drop a new bios into a folder named C:/BIOS. Load back into the blue screen and manage to start flashing, gets about 3/4s of the way through and it just freezes again. At this point it's completely fucked, just fragging, occasionally it gets to the "X" BIOS screen. Absolutely heartbroken at this, it belonged to a friend of a friend who died in 2005 in a motorcycle accident. If anyone has any idea what could be up with it i'm all open to ideas or paying for repairs (UK) if someone really knows what they're doing. I really don't get it, I pretty much ruled out the HDD, i don't THINK it's the PSU since i replaced it and same again. Just don't know what's up with it. Won't boot into a Hexen 2019 disc I made either. Please help!!!!
  11. Getting out of modding, I have 5 xboxes left each with 2tb drives. Message me for more info, us only.
  12. as the title says, i have a fuckton of xboxes i modded with 2tb drives that i wanna get rid of. for more info, dm me, thanks.
  13. Instead of adding this to the Wii2HDMI thread, I figured I'd start a new one. I'm still not fully happy with the output quality of my Wii2HDMI due to the interference, but I tried it out in combination with my mClassic, and I'm rather impressed with the improvements. Below you can see the same scene with the mClassic in pass-through mode (off) vs. on. Hopefully this comes through with downscaled images. Edit: In case it needs mentioning, the vertical lines you can see in the images are from the interference I'm talking about. I'm hoping to tune this out some more, but I may have to just go back to component cables until I'm comfortable trying to get a MakeMHz piece to install.
  14. I grabbed a Kernel file from this page and I flashed it with XBlastOS. Does the kernel have to match the original kernel? What is the kernel relative to the BIOS? Normally kernel and BIOS are two very different components of a computer. I shouldn't have been able to flash the TSOP with the kernel correct? How are those kernels meant to be used? I was looking for the default BIOS. Thanks
  15. Hello everyone, I am writing this today to see if anyone would potentially know what the issue is with my Xbox's dvd drive. A little backstory. I got an unopened 1.6 many months ago. The console would give the lovely 07 error, so I figured the hard drive was the problem. I swapped out the hard drive with a known good working hard drive, and chipped the console, and would still get the 07 error. In my quest to repair the xbox, I noticed that the green light was constantly flashing whenever I turned the console on. I swapped out the disc drive and all of the console's problems went away. That brings me to my issue. I currently have a Samsung SDG-605F that stops the console from detecting the hard drive whenever its IDE cable is connected. If I connect only the power cable, the console will open and close the console no problem. When I then connect the IDE cable, the console flashes green constantly and the drive will not respond to the eject button being pressed. I've taken a look at the drive's motherboard and there is nothing that stands out as wrong. My thoughts are that the firmware has gotten partially corrupted, the dram chip on the drive's motherboard is dead, or there are issues with the MediaTek controller on the drive's motherboard. I'm not sure what the issue is. I am hoping that someone here knows what the issue is and what I would need to do to fix it. Thank you for reading through all of this. DobaMuffin

  17. I have only 1 sata adapter and want to upgrade to 1TB. I have usb adapter, and i could connect my old 2.5" hdd to my laptop and use hirens CD to clone HDD. I think it would work, it would copy all sectors, but what about formatting?
  18. A friend gave this modded Xbox but didn't know much about it. I've had soft modded ones. but don't know much about the hard ones myself either. It has a larger hard drive. When you turn it on it gives the 09 error and ring flashes red and yellow. Someone told me that button should be held on the controller when you turn on the Xbox but isn't sure which ones. Would that cause the 09 error? Thanks for any help.
  19. hello, i received recently the xblast chip, was intended to use it mainly for ram upgrade but i have a xbox with tsop bad flash. so the xblast has ind bios on bank 512 and x2 on bank 256, i flashed via menu the bank 256 with c:\tsop_m7.bin, went ok. but when i load it from xblast os with a hexen dvd in drive, screen freeze at logo like no dvd was read... tested with samsung and thomson drive. what's going on ? thanks
  20. Newbie here! So glad to see some kind of OG Xbox community still exists! I'm not the most social bean but I will try! Hopefully I can bring a new level to the community with my tool I am working on to help build Xbox OG source code super easy, called Easy-Build Xbox EDIT: I am not sure on the rules yet of posting about and linking my tool, as the nature of it is source code, as long as there's no direct links on the forum is it okay? But for now I'm saying hi and learning about the forum!
  21. My OG XBOX is a version 1.4 and has been TSOP modded and is running INDBIOS 5003 with F & G support. I am using Rocky5's ISO BIOS patcher as the first thing that runs at bootup (DASH1 in IND0BIOS.CFG) to get ISO loading working and that is fine (I used to run UnleashX and needed it, not sure I still need it with XBMC4Gamers but assumed so since I'm using INDBIOS 5003). I assembled the patcher.xbe (named it "XISO Loader.xbe") with it pointing to the dashloader.xbe at C:\DashLoader (renamed from C:\evoxdash.xbe) which, in turn, defaults to my XBMC4Gamers default.xbe at E:\XBMC4Gamers\ directory. I edited the "A" .cfg that resides within the C:\dashloader directory to point to the Enigmah PAL/NTSC app in my E:\Apps\ directory in case I want to switch video modes. All of that works great. I can boot to XBMC4Gamers by default or hold "A" and get to the Enigmah video switcher to select PAL or NTSC. Fantastic stuff! But, now, I am trying to get the dashloader configurator GUI to work for configuring the dashloader button settings and I can't get it to work. I installed the dashboard configurator from the URLDowloader within XBMC4Gamers into my E:\Apps\ directory and that seems to work fine as I am able to run the configurator which loads the settings from somewhere and will save settings somewhere BUT it does NOT really impact the A,B,X,Y, etc. .cfg files within the C:\cashloader\ directory. What am I missing? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
  22. I've spent some time kicking around the forums, but appear to be running in circles, so hoping for an assist. Last month I grounded out the power supply on my 1.1 while doing a 2TB SATA upgrade. The SATA/IDE board touched the power supply as I was re-assempling the box (I left the power live like a bozo). I purchased a new power supply to find that the board was dead (non-stop frag). Purchased a previously soft modded 1.0 box, removed and cleaned up the clock cap and was able to boot to UnleashX. I'm now in day 4 of trying to install my old, previously fully functional, X3CE onto this new board. de-soldered d0, LAN, HDD wire no problem de-soldered pin header cleaned up solder in 1.0 header Installed old header back in 1.0 Connected everything up LAN/HDD lights on X3CP work great FRAG I'm running out of ideas. So far I've tried: Booting into flasbios via eject/power: FRAG Booting to softmod using power long press: works Re-soldering the pin header thrice using a continuity tester to check each header pin against this post from livefast1989: all but pin 7 check out (i think the point may be wrong) Tried booting into softmod and flashing w/ Hexen: Mfc ID 18 / Flash not writeable Booted xblastOS from softmod: Sees X3 as the chip, wont write to it via HDD or LAN I have loads of pictures of the install and all errors. Is there something I could be missing? Could I have nuked the chip when I murdered the power supply? Is there a tool to rebuilt the factory state of the x3CE?
  23. hey guys, i read somewhere that its possible to flash an aladdin modchip with xblast using a nand-x, i have all the parts for this but i need a pinout for the nand-x to the aladdin to flash the CPLD, can anyone help me out with this? i tried to use my old flashcatusb but i couldn't get the chip to show up.
  24. Hi, I’m new to anything to do with mod chips on the original Xbox so my apologies if I sound like a complete noobie. I recently purchased a Xbox of Facebook market place that has a DuoX2 (blue) mod chip installed. When the console boots is has like a green logo in the top left and Slayers 2.7 underneath the Xbox logo at the bottom of the screen (I’ll add a photo to explain what I’m talking about). Then it boots into evolutionX dashboard I believe. I’ve dabbled with soft modded Xboxes before and wanted to take a crack at a mod chipped one but I’m worried I’ll brick the console if I just try and re flash bios and install a new dashboard. So long story short, is it possible to update the bios on the mod chip to someone a little more recent like EvoX M8 or something? The Xbox is 1.4 console. I opened it and cleaned the console of dust and re did the thermal paste and fixed the DVD belt prior to wanting to update the dashboard and mod chips Bios. any help is much appreciated. Kind Regards, Karl
  25. I put together a package with all the software needed. I also included the SVF file generated by ISE's impact. This is now the easiest method for programming OpenXenium's CPLD chip. After setup, it's just one click. Merry Christmas and enjoy! https://sites.google.com/view/xc9500xl-with-openocd-ft232r/home
