About Me

  1. Hi everyone - I just successfully finished my XBOX HDMI+ install with open xenium. I was able to get the patched bios working following these instructions: https://github.com/MakeMHz/xbox-hd-plus/blob/master/patches/README.md#xbox-kernel-patches-kpatch---xboxhd My only issue is in-game reset lo longer works? Does anyone know a solve to this? Is it possible for me to patch my new bios with LBA48 v3 to restore this function?
  2. Hello I've been and bought an xbox, Normally i'd mod these myself either Tsop or Aladdin / Similar Mod chip This one however has an AMD Duo x2. I am wondering what Bios I can stick on it? A bit of googling says x2 3035.63 would be fine but I have the OGXBox 2021 PC Tool Set (25.Mar.2021) and have a ton of Bios to choose from, I normally use X2 3035.137 on a 1.0/1.1 Motherboard or a 512 Bank Mod chip, This one has a Single 512kb? Thanks in advance.
  3. I was given two broken original Xbox consoles to try and fix. After fixing the issues with one of them, I tried to test it. As I didn't have a controller for it I bought an adapter like the one in the picture (Adapter) to try and use either a USB arcade stick or one of my wired controllers for PC, Xbox 360, or Xbox One. I eventually bought a controller for it as I could not get anything to work with this adapter. So I am wondering, does this adapter serve any purpose? Has anybody gotten an arcade stick kit like the one in the second picture to work on the original Xbox?
  4. So i've bought a nice chip called a Jafar, a Rebuild of the Aladdin. It has 3 Banks. 1 512k, 1 256k and 1 256k with Xblast ( Autoboots ) Fitted this and it all works a charm, Now i'm thinking I might also Tsop it. Its a 1.4 Board. Could I simply solder the tsop points on the 1.4 board, Boot the chip into Xblastos which gives the option to flash the Tsop as well as the other 2 banks and flash it? Or would I need to look at removing some of the Chip? Maybe the g0 gound?
  5. What is the average temperature of a modded Xbox (at boot and after playing for 1 hour, just an example ) ? Does the temperature get higher if games are played from HD or discs ? What to do if it's too high / how to change the fan settings to reduce the temperature (in Slayers 1.7 or other dashboards like XMBC or Unleash, etc...) ? Is there any other setting to check in order to keep the temperature stable or lowest as possible?
  6. Hi all - hoping somebody might have either a scan of the manual for the Competition Pro Wireless wheel accessory, or else knowledge of how the button programming function works on it so that you can get the pedals to work with the driving games that don't allow you to map correctly within the game itself (NFS Underground 2 can do this by changing the control scheme in-game for example, but Outrun 2006 doesn't have this ability)? Have been hunting high and low for ages and so far haven't turned up anything :( It's this one for reference: Thanks in advance! Alex
  7. Hi Im in the process of upgrading my ram. The mod chip im using is an x2.6 with ind-bios. I have the xblastos xbe installed on my HDD. My thinking was that I could boot to my dashboard then launch the xblastos xbe to check each ram chip. However, upon powering on the xbox, it boots three times and the led's flash red and orange. My question is do I need the xblast bios flashed to my modchip for the xbox to boot during the upgrade or have I made a mistake during the installation? Im quite confident about my soldering. Checking under x60 magnification and lots of light tia
  8. So I recently made use of this invaluable resource to download all of the old Halo 2 DLC onto my original Xbox (https://digiex.net/threads/xbox-offline-xbox-live-downloadable-content-dlc-installers.675/). The title update and four map packs were a no-brainer, but I was intrigued to see "official" Bungie multiplayer game-types included in the installer as well, as follows: 1. Classic CTF Tank 2. Covie Gulch 3. Golden Showers 4. Peacemakers 5. Swords No Radar 6. Team GoldShowers 7. Zombies Interested in knowing how a few game-types were elevated to "preserved official DLC", I did some research. It looks like #1-5 were made available on the Official Xbox Magazine April 2005 demo disc (http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox/official-xbox-magazine-demo-disc-43/), and #7 was from the June 2005 edition (http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox/official-xbox-magazine-demo-disc-45/). But my question, while quaint, is this: when was #6 ever officially released? All online "Bungie game-type" lists seem to acknowledge it as one of the officially released game-types, but I can't seem to find its origin. Does anyone recall how they got ahold of it back in the old Xbox days? To be clear, I'm talking about the game-type "Team GoldShowers".
  9. Do, all the fucki/ng hdmi solutions of output signal video make REALLY a better picture than the best component ''for the same resolution'', or it's ONLY for not loose quality during passage to hdmi or upscaling ? Thanks and sorry.
  10. Hi, I am just wondering if anyone with more experience than me can tell me how bad this looks or about any diagnosis clues I can be aware of. The first XBOX I found on ebay last year was surprisingly not modded and I guessed it might be a 1.0. Because of that I didn't want to mod it or open it so I bought another cheap one that had already been opened. I had some fun with that one then I gave it away. In the meantime that 1.0 was calling my name and I bit the bullet and opened it up. Softmod went fine of course. HDD upgrade went fine. Then I wanted to try something more interesting. I looked up the RAM upgrade and it didn't look too bad. That actually went smooth. Luckily the 1.0 is the least work to short circuit the TSOP. So TSOP flash and 128MB RAM was working. I kind of surprised myself. I was fumbling around not really thinking through things and I wanted to see if I could flash an original BIOS back to it. That was the end of the fun for me. After the flash it reboots and goes into the blinking red. I realized the BIOS probably didn't like having 128MB RAM so I used my heat gut to remove my just added RAM. That wasn't it. I knew it I had a big project ahead of me. That was when I found the Open Xenium modchip that apparently is supposed to divert the boot to it's own BIOS. Hence my question in this forum. I didn't see how I was going to remove all that solder from the LPC ports with a solder braid or any other way for that matter. I realized I might be able to use my heat gun again. I had some bad luck and didn't realize how hot I was getting my board in the process either. I almost lost 3 components all together but I managed to get 2 of them back on. I circled the remaining problems in my pictures below. Is any of this repairable? The Open Xenium chip makes it to a red LED but XBOX still only boots to the blinking red lights. I was pretty happy with my soldering of the wire but not so happy with my soldering of the LPC jumpers. The board took some damage. From what the pictures say is this beyond repair? If the Open Xenium chip is making it to a red LED am I close? Thanks all you smart folks!
  11. i know the drive from a 360 will not work with an og xbox but are there any parts from a 360 drive that would work? for example, would certain lasers like the SOH-DX1 from a 360 drive work in an og xbox drive that has the same model laser?
  12. Hello people. Finally ive found a forum. Ive just dug my xbox out. Now my question I run the xecuter 3 mod chip with custom front panel. As far as i no if u hold white button on the controller u can get into the settings menu (fan speed colours bla bla) All i want to no is. When i upgrade to the new hard drive. Will i have this option again to bring up the menu (white button on controller) or will i have to install it to the new hard drive. Its beem like 15 years since i last used it. Any help guys
  13. I've got a question about shortcuts on xbmcorigins with UI update installed. Is it normal to only be able to select games as shortcuts? I know emulators require custom addon.xml to do it, but I am actually trying to have apps available as shortcuts. Like DVD2Xbox and other stuff. I don't know how to write an addon.xml, so even if it would make the apps show up as selectable I won't be able to do it. Is there some kind of template I can follow to learn how to write one? Another quick question, since I only use coinops for emulation, could I place the folder in F\Games so it shows up with the other games?
  14. Hello everyone, just a simple question here. Can i have always the flash-enable points bridged so that i can flash a Bios at any time,or will that damage anything? Thanks
  15. Is there a way to Force a BFM BIOS to set the clock speed of CPU,GPU,RAM?
  16. it's a v1.4 hard modded xbox. i had sonic heroes on pause for several hours while i watched tv and did other things(in other words, i was not watching the xbox screen to see if it shot an error code or something). i have the xbox sitting behind my tv so i don't see everything that it does. i looked behind the tv and a saw the the eject led had turned yellow. i shut the xbox off immediately because i feared it was overheating so i didn't look on the tv to see if it was displaying an error code. anyway, what causes the yellow led? btw, it was a solid yellow led, not flashing.
  17. I wasn't sure where to put this, but here goes. I installed a XeniumICE massive bundle by Nemesis recently in a Halo blue console and a skeleton black (transparent gray). Everything is connected including the wires for the dim function on the controller ports. It looks absolutely awesome, but because the console is transparent the front panel LED's are brutally bright in a dimly lit or dark room. So bright that they distract from the TV while playing. This wouldn't be an issue if I was using a solid color console as the LEDs aren't directly visible, but that isn't an option. I found the demo too dim that was included in Nemesis' Xenium Essentials which dims during boot and in XeniumOS, and I found the setting in XBMC where the "Off" setting dims them, but the moment I load a game they are back to being staring into the sun bright. I know this is because once the game is loaded, XBMC is dropped until IGR is used to exit. I have searched endlessly and cannot find an answer as to how to dim the front panel LEDs all the time. Is this even possible? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated as I'm almost at the point where I'm going to remove the front panel and put electric tape in front of the LEDs, but I know that would look like hell and would drive my OCD nuts. Thanks in advance!
  18. So with what I have heard, is it true that the only difference between the Xbox's CPU and an off-the-shelf Pentium III the fact that the cache is cut down to 128kb? If so, is it actually at all possible in any way to connect up a Xbox cpu to a pc of that era and see it work? Yes, I am aware of the fact that you would have to desolder the CPU.
  19. I am looking to upgrade my original xbox hard drive. Console is a V1.6 that is softmodded. My new hard drive came in the mail today. I attempted to hotswap and set it up using chimp, however, the hard drive I received was not the hard drive I ordered and it does not lock, so I am returning it. On to the question, I am familiar with the method of hotswapping and using chimp to clone my drive. I am also aware you can set up a drive on pc if you can connect the drive either directly through ide connection or by using ide to usb. Are there any other methods for prepping a hard drive for a soft modded xbox that do not require either a pc connection or a hotswap while the console is turned on?
  20. if i bought a xbox that someone had softmodded and then unlocked the hdd and forgot to re-lock it before powering down, what error code would it give?
  21. Hello, I am looking at making a few of these for myself, and I'm wondering if anybody here has used one, or anything similar to it? I'm not familiar with kernel debugging using Super I/O, but it seems like something that could be useful if I want to learn all I can from the hardware of this system. DobaMuffin
  22. So, I'm in the process of completing my first OGXbox build, and while I'm waiting on parts to finish this one up, I'm looking at alternative ways to approach installations of certain mods, specifically the LCD Display that can be added to the Xbox. Now, I know that there are a couple of ways to enable an LCD display to work on the Xbox, on of which is by using a Xenium-chip, and using an SPI-2-PAR to convert the display to work with the Xenium SPI bus. Now, I've been doing some window-shopping online, and I came across several LCD Displays with SPI Interfaces already on them. I'm now guessing where I'm going with this, but i'll ask anyway; given the fact that the Xenium chip uses an SPI bus to use the LCD, and the LCD display comes with an SPI Interface, would it be possible to use the display on the chip, given that I have the connector from the LCD to the chip, and that I know how to wire the LCD to the SPI bus on the chip.
  23. I'm getting a shimmer/interference and a line slowly moving vertically on screen, using component cable. What are the thoughts on cause & fix? I read the best visual out for xbox original is component, so I ebayed a component cable, plugged in. (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1080p-Component-HD-TV-RCA-AV-Cable-Cord-Lead-For-Original-Xbox/143318317450) I checked TV supports YPbPr. (manual https://assets.kogan.com/files/usermanuals/KALED55UHDUA-A.pdf) I've wiggled the connections, and tried green only - the same shimmer&line. Also the TV says 576i@50hz, I thought component would do 480p? The composite cable it came with works ok, but looking to improve on quality. Thanks
  24. i know that i can take the analog sticks off of several different controllers and put them on my xbox controller to fix stick drift. the thing is that i kind of hate to destroy those old controllers since they will one day be hard to find like the xbox controllers are getting to be. with that said, has anyone found a replacement analog stick that works like oem? i know most of the replacement sticks from ebay are horrible but has anyone found one that is as good as oem?
  25. i've made a few posts in here about my og original xbox and how it has sentimental value to me. i know the hdd will eventually fail on it as all hdd's eventually do. i was thinking of using the softmod exploit just to enable ftp so that i can copy the entire hdd and the eeprom key to my pc. my question is, is there any possible danger in doing this? is it possible that the exploit can mess up my xbox? after i'm finished backing everything up, i want the xbox to be in the same condition it was before i did this. btw, it is a v1.6 and has no mod on it.
