About Me

  1. Hello everyone, first off all, excuse for my English as I am Brazilian I just got an Og Xbox 1.0 with Xecuter2 and I'm still learning a lot about this beauty but I have a problem and maybe someone here can help me. I was browsing the forum but found nothing on this specific matter. The Xbox works fine except for one thing: the controller keeps disconnecting. It came with some 3rd party controllers and an adapter for PS2 controllers, so no original controller for me. The funny thing is that when it disconnects I only can make it work again when I wrap the cable around the controller and make my way unpluging and pluging it back. Someone told me that it could be caused by a faulty cable on the controllers but I checked the cables with a multimeter and they appear to work fine. The PS2 adapter sometimes work and sometimes do not work, but the LED on the adapter is always on. I also disassembled the box for cleaning and to take off the clock capacitor (that was leaked btw), time when I also checked the daughterboard to see if it was faulty, and it was not. Given the situation, I can only think of two options: 1. the 3rd party controllers and adapter are really crappy and don't work fine with the console and I should get an original controller; or 2. my daughterboard is defective and should be replaced. I don't think there's a software problem here but since all things related to Og Xbox are completely new to me, I can be wrong. Anyways, the help I want/need is to try to find a way to discover the problem since Og Xbox parts or controllers are really not easy or cheap to find in Brazil... Cheers
  2. hey guys, i've a problem with my xbox-controller in connection to my pc. when I need to pair my controller with my laptop with the xbox app i am getting this mistake message: 0x800708ca do you have any concept what i'm able to do about it?
  3. Hi, I've managed to do all of the steps to install the unleashedx softmod via usb and splinter cell, the ftp settings, placing the snes9x X folder in the correct location, and getting the emulator to show up on the console. All i had left to do is simply hit the A button on any one one of the Roms to start them up, and yet nothing happens when i do that? The A button works fine for literally everything else except starting the Roms. I'm hoping it's because i have an off brand madcatz controller, and not an original xbox controller. Or maybe it's something more simple than that? Corrupted Roms maybe?
  4. I'm having a weird issue with a 1.2 I'm attempting to fix, for some reason, all of the controller ports are working except for port 2. The clock cap was removed and there looked to be some leakage however there doesn't appear to be any trace rot near the area where the cap was on either side of the board and all other caps appear to be in good condition. Also, I tried swapping out the ports with one from a console that works and port 2 still does not work with any controller plugged in. Looking around, this doesn't appear to be a common issue and I'm not sure what else I could be missing. Pictures of the board are attached.
  5. Hi I just stepped into this does anyone have some info about this Controller?
  6. xbox controller keeps disconnecting i tried another new controller and is disconnecting again i tried with ps2 converter adaptor controller still the same problem the controller work fine the xbox ports are fine where is the problem plz help me
  7. So yes, I know it sounds weird, but I dream with disabling or remove the analogue/sensitive button crap from my Xbox controller! I want to play the Splinter Cell games and their sensitivity is horrible the way it works with the original Xbox controller (you have to press very hard on the face buttons for actions to register). It would also help other games and compatibility with other controllers (I've heard the wireless logitech controllers have compatibility issues with original xbox controllers that USE the sensitive functionality). At least I would want to make it so every push of the button, no matter how slightly, it would push at 255 strength every time. Anybody has any idea of how to begin doing this? This would be done in hardware hopefully. All ideas are welcome
  8. Guys, I need some feedback from some veterans out there. I have my first original Xbox, and I modded it, etc. But I also have a few original games that came with my Xbox etc. one of them is the first Splinter Cell. The problem is simple, for doing anything in the game I have to press "SUPER" hard on the buttons! (for the action to be performed) Now I know what you'll tell me, buy a new Xbox controller. I just got an original mint condition controller from Japan. All other games I've played don't have this problem, on the opposite I hardly touch the button and the action is performed! (in every other game) The controller is in mint condition and it's original Xbox brand! Is this how the game was coded? I have the platinum hits version of Splinter Cell by the way. Thank you all guys, you are a great community from what I have seen, my regards
  9. Hi All It took a bit but it's working the way I wanted. All hidden inside the case. I wanted to be able to retain the Original controller or plug in a wireless adapter for the Xbox360 wirless controller. Using Ryzee119's adapter and some switching and making use of the light gun wire I got it working. At this stage it is just the 1st port with the other ports untouched. The only small issue is the 5 second delay before the 360 controller will work after that the there doesn't appear to be any lag between the 2. The video clip should give you the idea of what I wanted. https://youtu.be/rVq23B0gLdU Cheers SS Dave
  10. Will a 360 usb controller work on a OG Xbox? I see that the OG Xbox has a 5th wire labeled timing signals.
  11. Got 3 custom built NES Xbox controllers for sale. They are custom built and use the original controller cable, a new NES classic controller shell and work just like a regular official Xbox controller. Perfect for playing NES or Gameboy games on the Xbox! Price: 40€ each+shipping costs.

  13. Tried this on a v1.2 mobo but didnt have any success... Is this info bogus or am i missing something? I would appriciate any input. I attached the instructions that i followed.. ttps://www.google.com/amp/s/synapse.wordpress.com/2006/10/26/xbox-controller-power-push-button-mod/amp/ xbox_pushbuttonmod.pdf
  14. Is anyone interested in an partly working orange Madcatz controller. It is wireless, the rubber is in bad condition, the case is good though. One rumble motor need to be soldered, the triggers needs to be pushed hard to get them to max and it is dismantled. It comes with the receiver and all parts. I have no idea on price, so open for offers if anyone is interested. Shipping must be covered by buyer, and tbh it can be a bit expensive from here. Sent from my 16th using Tapatalk
  15. Hi all, I'm wanting to emulate the Steel Battalion Controller and to allow use of a keyboard or joystick or some other configuration which I haven't worked out yet. Just wondering if anyone owns a Steel Battalion Controller, a >24Mhz Logic analyser, a sense of adventure and is willing to help me out!? The information online which I have found so far is pretty limited, There's a small section at the bottom of http://xboxdevwiki.net/Xbox_Input_Devices but it is missing the rest of the interface descriptor and also doesn't have any information about the XID descriptor and capability descriptors allowing the Xbox to actually detect anything with my basic testing. (Maybe it doesn't even have them? I'm not sure yet) What I am looking for in the first instance is: 1. A complete USB descriptor dump of the Steel Battalion Controller when plugged into a PC using something like https://www.thesycon.de/eng/usb_descriptordumper.shtml 2..A Logic analyser trace of the USB data bus with the controller plugged into the OG Xbox console, probably within the Steel Battalion game or during the first 10-20 seconds of the game loading up. I'm a bit more familiar with the Saleae logic analyser software but I can probably work out whatever. But ideally it needs to be able to decode USB packets and control transfers. You can get Saleae clones for under $10 https://ebay.us/BFvaaH 3. I will take care of the rest unless I find something unusual and need further info. I've never actually used or owned one of these controllers so any input to what a good controller configuration on a keyboard/joystick might be would help but getting it detected on the OG Xbox console is the first milestone! Obviously can't guarantee anything, but the intent is that it would be compatible with https://github.com/Ryzee119/ogx360 Cheers!

  17. I'm interested in converting the original wired "S" controller into a wireless controller using the guts of an off brand wireless controller like a Logitech. To anyone's knowledge has this been done before or at least something similar?
  18. I am looking for someone who is able to preform the following mods. X3IR mod and the internal Logitech controller dongle mod. Thank you.
  19. I have an X3 modded console with the pro faceplate. I’ve seen videos online of people using dvd remotes to remotely power on the system. I have also seen videos of people using the Logitech wireless controllers with the dongles mounted inside the machine. I am wondering if this is something that can be/has been done, and if so are there any tutorials/ people willing to do the mod for $. Thank you.
  20. is there some sort of grease (lithium grease?) inside the stick where the mechanism is? one or 2 of my controllers feel... sluggish? like if you move the stick all the way to the left, and then just let go it doesnt feel as quick to center as another controller. i cleaned out the thumbstick with alcohol and q tips but idk if theres some sort of grease that should be there. like the dvd drive laser rails.
  21. I'm in the middle of a small project to repair a spares or repair Duke and I'm thinking of converting it over to a USB connection (as one of the problems is a frayed cable) and everything I've read says that I don't need the red wire that's in the original cable. Obviously you couldn't get it to work with USB if you did, but I'm curious as to what it's used for if I don't need it. So far I've seen it called "Video Sync", +12V and VCC, but that doesn't tell me why it's there. Except maybe for "Video Sync", but why would a controller need video sync?
  22. Hello everyone! I recently picked up a box with Xkiller Xecuter 2 and while trying to make a USB cord for it, I somehow fried the circuitry for port 2. I had another box for spare parts and tried swapping the headers, no luck. My real questions are A: Do they make controller hubs (like a 2 or 4 way splitter) that I can just plug into port 1 so that I can still have a 2nd controller detected? I've searched everywhere and couldn't find one and if not B: Can I just splice the wires (on the internal plug) that go to port 2 on to the wires for port 1 and still have it see the second controller when plugged? I'm thinking so since it is just a USB interface... But I would love some input before I try.
  23. I would like to purchase a Logitech wireless controller. It must be in working condition. I have receiver, so it is not a must, but I understand if someone wants to sell controller with receiver. Colour does not matter, but white is the least wanted one. Sent fra min NX551J via Tapatalk
  24. I have been thinking about doing a mod to allow for the use of a Xbox 360 controller. I used to have a wireless S-controller rip off which worked great but I lost it during moving some time go. I also have the Logitech one, but I really despise it. It just feels wrong and in no way is as good as the s-controller. I do love the 360 controller and use that for my 360 and my Opensuse based media centre. So I would also like to use it on a Xbox. I was thinking of using a Raspberry Pi, a Xbox 360 usb receiver, custom usb connector/output to connect to the Xbox motherboard and connector for auto on/off with the xbox button on the 360. On the Pi I want to load a lightweight Linux with the Xboxdrv driver to take the input of the 360 controllers and translate it to the OG xbox controller output, using some of the code from this same driver which also supports the original xbox controller. A bit worried about lag and my ability to mod the driver code, but seems like an interesting challenge. Any one seeing other challenges or maybe has tried this and found it impossible
