About Me

  1. Hola, es posible poner una F.A de la v1.6 en la v1.0. Un saludo
  2. Hello all. First post here as I just got into modding xbox's. Picked up two og xbox's, one is a 1.6 and the other a 1.0. I did a full recap on the 1.6 board and power supply and replaced the dvd drive belt. Also installed a 500gb hard drive, installed a new dashboard and lastly installed MakeMHZ's HDMI board with OpenXenium mod chip. And to my surprise every worked perfect with little to no issues. However, this 1.0 has some problems. System wouldn't boot at all at, also tried booting from a dvd using hexen with no luck. So I installed a OpenXenium mod chip and it booted right up to the Xenium OS. So I figured I was good to go, I installed a the IND 5003.67 BIOS since it would be compatible with the 128mb ram upgrade for the console. So this is where I may have messed up, I just installed all 4 ram chips at the same time instead of testing after each one. Now systems turns on and off.. on and off again then on and stays on with a green ring but no picture. However if I press the eject once it stays on it launches into either Xenium OS or the IND BIOS.. Not sure how that makes sense, seems to be random. I would think if the ram was installed wrong or shorted I wouldn't even get this far?? I was even able to ftp over Capcom vs SNK 2 and it played fine.. I'm thinking maybe something's up with the stock BIOS? I bridged the pins on the board to do a tsop thinking that might solve my problem but I don't think I have anyway to flash to the stock chip since I can only boot from a modchip.. Sorry for the long read, I'm just lost at this point. Hoping someone has some suggestions or can make sense of any of this. Also I attached a link for pics of my ram install, maybe I'm missing something? Thanks guys Justin https://imgur.com/a/Q2F8Cqh
  3. Greetings to all, I have an xbox classic 1.0 that they gave me. As soon as I tried to turn it on the initial boot appeared, but then I heard a noise like something sizzling coming from the power supply. I open the xbox and I noticed some screws springs on the power supply which probably caused a short circuit. Now the console does not turn on anymore. If I try to turn it on, the fan turns half a turn and turns off. In stand by I have 3.25 volts on the purple cable while the transformer on the secondary between the red and black cable gives me 0 volts. What could I check. Thank you
  4. Aplogies for the noobness here My xbox will not load unleashx on the new hd often. it either takes along time to load or fails. it does not load evox in corner also. Xbox ntsc-j 1.0 2 tb WD Green aladian xt2 hard mod instal issues. - doesn not load evox in conrer anymore after bios flash - boot looping, freezing, not loading into unleash, going into red green flash after 3 boot attempts. -if loads, often after a reboot will decide to 'take a break' boot loop into flashing lights, black screen. -no EVOX logo with or without hd anymore ( this makes me think its a bios issue) -loading hexen to install xmbc or try reflash bios is always unsuccessful. -can load ogxbox just unsure what to instal. Previous notes , install and before issues: -Removed capacitor, installed chip, directed d0 to wrong point (plese see pic) still successfully launched EVOX. -would not load hexen or new hd. redirected the d0 to proper point then had boot problems. starting logo would freeze. -Reflowed aladdin pin headers. -changed wiring back (picture - d0 point to ledhd - i did not clearly understand pdf install guide) hexen loaded. -freezed once. flashed bios 480p an d couldnt get logo screen. reverted back. could load new hdd. -installed ntsc package and got error on 'nodvd' (forgot this part kind of), still loaded into partioner. -partioned hd using 947-1 method (2tbhd) rebooted but froze. -reloaded hexen, reinstalled ntsc p[ackage succefully with no errors. -reformated drives again with 946 +1 method. -rebooted and got power boot loops and no evox logo. -also got the issue LBA48 bios issues when checking reformat drives. however drives are formatted. Thought it maybe hd issues or power issue or ide/sata issues but havetested with nad without hd and get same result. unless i leave the xbox to rest it wont reboot. I can get into a succeful unleshx dash with hd partioned. it just doesnt run smooth or seem right. Plesea see pics. Ive burnt ogxbox disc to try and instal bios but unsure which one honestly. but this randomly loads . I have a feeling ive done something to the modchip. iread that the bios on hexen for the chip was junk but have no idea how to instal a new bios now. I hope someone can help https://imgur.com/JB1rbXv https://imgur.com/eTbE2sJ https://imgur.com/P4YXvm5 https://imgur.com/piCzr6M
  5. Hi all! I'm having some trouble with installing an OpenXenium purchased from MakeMHZ into an Xbox 1.0. I'm relatively new to this, and have surely made some mistakes. When I start it up, it does this: https://imgur.com/a/HTHYrU2 Here's what I know: Stupidly, I soldered the D0 pad on the modchip to the 1.6 pad - that has been fixed. I don't think this is the issue, because I have a second chip that I did not make this mistake with, and it still does not work. I didn't scrape the solder mask off LPC ports, and really had trouble flowing the joints. The one I'm most concerned with is the bottom right joint of the first photo. Can I run a jump wire from that to one of the nearby test pads? I'm fairly confident the D0 pad on the modchip is correctly connected to D0 on the board - I tested the continuity from the chip to the both points on the board, and was good. I have photos available here: https://imgur.com/a/FX7R43B Thanks for any info in advance!!
  6. Hi Everyone! I'm in the market for a 1.0 motherboard that has had the extra ram up to 128mb chips added, has had all the caps replaced, the clock cap removed, the TSOP write points restored, and CPU thermal paste replaced. Essentially a nicely restored 128mb 1.0 motherboard that won't give me any trouble for! Optionally it would be nice to have the LPC pin headers installed in the case recovery is needed. I know there is a lot of time in that request between the caps and the ram, so please name your price. I'm in the US.
  7. I have a 1.0 with 128mb installed that is TSOP'd that without any of my own intervention started to frag (green light off, green light off, red green flashing). The only even prior was transferring games overnight via FTP. I'm not sure if something overheated or what but the xbox had frozen during the transfer and upon rebooting is when the frag started. I'd love some advice on how best to troubleshoot the issue. I installed a xblast lite to see if it was a TSOP issue and the outcome is still the same. Any ideas on what I should try next? I'm not noticing any caps that look out of sorts.
  8. Hi, i have xbox 1.0 and i have a problem with it. When I turn on, I do not have a signal video and audio to the green LED, it blinks 3 times, then it lights constantly. When I connect the alladdin, the video is sometimes broken, the green LED lights up in the thread. (how was the work, normal work) However, it was from sound, it does not give a video and so every now and then (picture as it is white) The cable component is working. What is your problem? Any ideas please.
  9. I acquired a few Xbox's cheap recently that were broken one of which was throwing an Error 5 on boot. This Xbox turned out to be modded but the solderless LPC header wasn't installed properly, I removed it and soldered a header directly to the board (and wired D0). Now I'm able to boot to the chip but it halts on startup.https://imgur.com/a/GN13n82I Attempted to load Xenium OS 2.1 recovery CD but the menu never comes on the main screen. It did early on but went black and never loaded again. I have tested this drive on my 1.6 Xbox and know that it is functional. Also I installed my Aladdin XT modchip and the system will boot fine with that. Is there any way to recover this chip or is it dead?
  10. hello my friends i have an xbox 1.0 and i want to install modchip for what is best one for it and also mine works with 100.125 ac and i want to change it to 200.245 ac because iam living in kuwait how i can change that and can i change hetsink fan and use thermal grizzly thermal paste
  11. any thoughts on HeXEn 1.0? so I softmodded my xbox back in 2010? I dunno and used a hexen Disc was it possible to do this? or was I just trippin.
  12. Hello, I picked up a modded 1.0 Xbox and I find the amount of system noise to be more than I want to tolerate. One mod that I heard mentioned was that the gpu heat sink and fan can be replaced with a passive solution that uses a ‘IGP’ heatsink. I can’t find good details on this. Does the OGXbox community have experience with this that can be shared? If this is a viable solution, can someone point me to a tutorial or provide details?
  13. Hey all, I recently ordered a 1.0 motherboard and hdd off of ebay and went to mod it. Before modding, I booted them up and found them to be working properly. The clock cap was leaking bad so I replaced that. I soldered up the pin header to the LPC, connected a wire to the D0 pad and routed that to the Open Xenium I have, and went to boot it up. I'm greeted with a solid red LED on the modchip, and the xbox booting up into the normal bios. Attempting to boot into XeniumOS by pressing the eject button yields the same results. This modchip did originally come out of a 1.6, flashed with Evox M8+ 1.6. Just to rule out the modchip going bad on me, I wired it back up into the 1.6 and it booted perfectly. I threw an Aladdin chip, that's also flashed with Evox M8+ 1.6, into the 1.0 also, and it will not boot into custom bios either. I've reflowed my joints multiple times, and my D0 solder job is good (I believe lol), so I'm really not sure what's going on. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. LPC solder joints have been reflowed like 4 times so they look bad lol, forgive me.
  14. Hey all. Sorry if this has been posted, but I searched and couldn't really find anything. I have a 1.0 Xbox that was handed to me by a friend. He said he couldn't remember much about it, but that him and his kid tried to mod it a long time ago, and now it isn't working. Upon opening it, I found a pin header, no modchip, tsop points soldered, and the underside D0 pad ripped off. When I try to start the xbox, it cycles power 3 times then frags out. I'm assuming this is due mainly to the ripped D0 trace. I've tried repairing the trace, and bridging the two pads connected by the green line, but I can't seem to get the solder to stick. Is there any other way to repair this, or is this the only way? Relatively new to xbox modding so any tips would be appreciated. Thank you!
  15. Hi, I have a hard modded OpenXenium chip with a 1 TB WD Blue HDD. I have everything set up and I am trying to get more than 200 GB - with more than > 200 GB left on a partition. Filezilla is not letting me do that. I am just trying to transfer the titles. They are all HDD ready for transfer but they do not go through at a certain point. They all become failed transfers. The bios I am using is unleashed x from the OGXBOX installer. It was not flashed by the program but was transferred by my network. It is a CEE bios. I switch dashboard sometimes. The only one that I have on there that is not preinstalled is Emulation Station. I had used the DVDmulleter to get the bios necessary. The HDD has been partitioned correctly having being split from F to G the remaining left. I am fairly new to this and any advice to help would be beneficial.
  16. So a friend handed over his old no longer working Xbox 1.0. Basically your typical frag..2 to 3 reboots then the Red - Green lights with no video or audio. I opened it up..sure enough the clock cap was still there so took that out and here are some pics of the top and bottom of the MB: So I'm concerned with the first pic...is that trace rot along the lower edge of the mother board? I think thats exactly the bottom part of where the clock cap was...and there was a bit of acid there which I cleaned up before taking the pic...so could this be the cause of the FRAG? If so what are my options to bring this back to life? By the way this box has never been opened or softmodded.
  17. hello guys, i'm new and i'm really desperate to find a scheme for an xbox with 1.0 board...i only find scheme or videos for 1.6 ... i'm stuck i'm following this tutorial but ofc the board is different and i dunno which cable go where https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNZOVTKGeDk
  18. Hey so I have a 1.0 and the main fan header isn't working. Can I just replace the mosfet or is there a greater issue?
  19. So i have got an xbox revision 1.0 for parts. Inside the motherboard was pretty much immaculate with non-leaked clock cap. Sadly the xbox just FRAGged. I did lots of troubleshooting including dumping the eeprom with raspberry pi, testing it with different psu or trying the TSOP bank split trick for coma console. I thought, that the TSOP must be faulty so i ordered aladdin xt. However the holes on 1.0 are filled with solder and hard to clean up. In the end, i soldered each leg of the pinheader individually. It looks ugly, but there are at least pretty wet solder joints and modchips do fit in it. Sadly it still frags. Images: I have: 1. Grounded the bottom d0 point 2. Grounded BT on the aladdin 3. Tested the aladdin in my 1.6 and then reflashing it with indbios 4. Replaced a R7D4 resistor i accidentally desoldered I also remember, there was possibly a short at Q7R1 part. I fixed it, but two pins next to each other are still shorted according to multimeter. The two pins are those closest to the Q in the Q7R1 marking (left down side on the bottom side picture)
  20. I have a xbox 1.0 here that fragged the day I got it. I thought "oh HDD probably died I'll just install a modchip". Well after installing said modchip I'm still met with 3 power cycles and the red and green lights with no error codes. Ive checked my soldering, checked that D0 is grounded, checked all caps, I cleaned the board after removing the clock cap, inspected traces for any signs of trace rot. Are there any caps that could go that just wouldn't show any sign of swelling or leaking that could cause issues?
  21. Any suggestions for a Rev 1.0 replacement CPU fan or larger heat sink replacement?
  22. I've two 1.0 motherboard sets (ie. motherboards, controller daughterboards and power supplies) for sale. Both have clock caps removed. Both working - no issues. One of them has some clock cap damage (namely C7G6 missing). That cap (C7G6) is part of clock circuit so as long as you don't plan on bringing back the clock cap it's not used and not needed. Price for the lot: 50 Euro plus shipping (I'm in Ireland). Shipping to UK should be around 5-10 Euro max. Other EU countries - please ask.
  23. Hello everyone! This is my first post, so apologies if it’s formatted incorrectly. I’m currently having a tough time trying to diagnose what could be causing my Xbox to output a wobbly video signal as seen here. I’ve tried -swapping power supplies -replacing the 5 caps near the cpu -giving the board and console a deep clean I’m thinking maybe it’s a grounding issue? Or perhaps the video encoding chip is about to die? Honestly I’m at a loss. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you guys.
  24. Hello! So after some suggestions from people here on the forum, I decided to attempt TSOPing my 1.0 xbox. Now, I haven't soldered for 4-5 years, and haven't touched an xbox since I moved abroad (have now moved back), so I don't remember much about the whole process. Didn't want to wait for flux because it wouldn't arrive for another 3 days, so I did the bridging without it. (Success btw) Now, for the flashing part, I'm wondering what bios you guys would suggest as the chip has a 1mb bank, and which CD you would recommend for setting the whole thing up (Hexen, Slayer etc). I know this is a bunch of NoOb questions, but I haven't been in the scene for a couple years. Looking forward to your replies! - Fixified
  25. So when I thought my only possibility for a hardmod in 2020 was an Alladin X2, I decided to TSOP my 1.0 Xbox. That went successfully and it has IND5003.67 which works fine. I then came across someone selling OpenXenium chips with more bells and whistles than Team Xodus released and picked up one. After installing everything and flashing with X2 5035, the TSOP is now doing nothing and I'd like to revert it back to stock however I cannot find anything about the process. Can anyone shed some light on how I need to proceed? Thanks in advance!
