Hi, I was wondering if the installation of a mobile Pentium III 1333 MHz would be possible in an og Xbox. This would be a lot easier, since you wouldn't have to use an interposer and modify the heatsink. Has anyone tried this set?

So, I got a modded Xbox off of a friend a few years back. It's been collecting dust on a shelf while i was modding 360s and messing with other things. Some console info: Motherboard Revision: 1.0 Kernel Version: 1.0.3944.1 TSOP Chip: ST-M29F080A In January i decided to play around with it and upgraded its mod with Rocky5s Softmodding Tool, although i had to use the Hardmod method show in MrMario2011s guide. I decided I want to hardmod the system and TSOP Flash rather than run the softmod. While digging through the file explorer on XBMC i found evidence of SmartXX which a google search turned up a modchip. So, I took to r/originalxbox and thanks to the help of @KaosEngineerfound that it must be a softmodded system and I'm good to flash the TSOP. I went on to download and burn a DVD-R with Bios Checker and burned another with the .iso file found in the download of "OGXbox Cerbios Disc v2.3.2". I bridged the R7D3 points on the top of the board and the R7R3 points on the back of the board, reassembled and popped on bios checker to get the info. I then popped in the OGXbox Cerbios v2.3.2. Once the disc launched, I read through the "Read Me" files on my PC and on the disc. After reading, I selected the following options: "Cerbios Disc - Static IP & No BFM Mode" --> "Flash Cerbios with XBlastOS" --> "Flash Cerbios UDMA2" --> "Flash Cerbios UDMA2 256KB" Once in XBlastOS I chose "Boot Onboard Bios". No dice... So, I copied/unpacked a clean .ini to my C partition, ran through the steps again and got to XBlastOS. This time I went to settings and saw Flash options. I selected: "HDD Flash" which gave me "C:\BIOS does not exist.' So, I tried: "CD Flash" which gave me "insert a disc with an img.bin file." I can't figure what step I'm missing or what I'm doing wrong here. Am I supposed to burn both the .ISO and .RAR files to the DVD-R rather than only the .ISO? OR am I missing something else entirely? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Long time reader first time poster! Sorry to start in this way but I'm completely lost and if possible I need your help all... First disclaimer, before the attempt on both console to install the modchip everything works fine (stock console no softmod or other modchip). As per the title I've installed the same Aladin XT Plus 2 (pick-up from AliX) but at the end (after the first boot) both console start to have the same issue as per below : Tries to Boot 3x then FRAG (Christmas Lights) Usually due to a failed or improperly installed modchip or the IDE cable being plugged in upside down somewhere. Check modchip wiring and IDE cables. If you did not do any soldering, it could be a bad PSU. - On both console I've already removed all the wires for the Aladin (beside the connector on the MB) - Cleaned everything with isopropyl alcohol - Replaced the power supply - Recaps (Done only on the 1.0) - Searched on the motherboard for broken component or any other strange visual sign of issue Is clear that the Aladin I've is faulty but what I can try now to revive those two console? Thanks!

Hello everyone, last night I installed the XEnium mod chip onto my 1.0 Japanese "if that makes any difference" xbox and I’m having a problem with my controller no longer working. XEnium boots up perfectly normal but I can not change any of the bios due to the controller not working. One of my attempts at trying to solve this issue saw a controller work momentarily but then stop. I've tried 3 different controllers "1 OEM and 2 knock offs" with no luck and I've tried every port. When the chip is unplugged the controllers work like normal but when the chip is plugged back in the controllers no longer work. I've only seen one other person on here with this problem and unplugging and plugging back in the chip seemed to work for them but it has not worked for me. I even tried reflowing all of my solder points to make sure my connections were okay and still nothing. My board is fine and hasn't had any capacitors leak on it so that's already ruled out. I'm running out of things to troubleshoot so I’m resorting to this forum. If anyone potentially knows any fixes for this and would like to help that would be greatly appreciated. Until then I'm going to keep troubleshooting to see what I can do. Thanks everyone.

good evening Request If I take the component signals before the 0.27ohm resistors to install an internal wii2hdmi, do you think it can be a problem? Would it still work? Anyway tomorrow I'll try

I tried to install an Aladdin modchip on my TSOP'ed 1.0 xbox. I overestimated my soldering ability and managed to seriously botch the installation. It looks like I damaged the pads near D0. When I try to boot the xbox, it FRAGs. I'd like to get it back to a working state. Do I have any options for repair or am I SOL?

Chimp or FTP is the question I have about 1TB of games on a 2TB drive in a modded box with an xecuter 2.6 chip. I recently picked up another xbox and actually found that I had an extra xecuter 2.6 chip on hand. I recently installed it, and it works just fine, so I have purchased another 2TB drive to put in it. Would it be best to use Chimp to clone it, or should I just throw Hexen on it and FTP over the files. My mind is saying to use Hexen and go the FTP route so I don't have to swap a live drive or touch the other box but maybe I am just over thinking it. What would you do?

https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=317852276104662&id=100036396753085 Hello fellow Xbox enthusiasts! I had some spare time this week and thought I'd pump out some PCBs to assist with the internal OGX360 installation that uses RELAYS. (The ogx360 was designed by Ryan Wendland and it allows you to use modern wireless controllers with the original Xbox. It's something that I really can't live without these days. lol.) You can certainly install the ogx360 without relays. In fact, Ryan designed a very nice (and tiny) USB Breakout Board for them and I've got all the custom cables for it. But, every once in a while I get a customer who would prefer to use relays for their internal ogx360 installation. (When you use a relay, a wired controller will automatically disconnect the ogx360. You unplug the controller and then it switches back to the ogx360. It's pretty neat and really good if you have kids or are frequently switching between a wired and wireless controller.) Tony Kuberka broke ground on using the relays and he made some really nice diagrams. The diagrams are great but are a little intimidating for the average modder because there are lots of wires to splice and you can really mess things up if you don't know what you're doing. Though I certainly don't mind splicing and wiring up things inside my Xboxes, I thought I'd make it easier for people to take advantage of the internal ogx360 installation using relays. I designed two different versions. The first uses only one PCB and the second uses two PCBs. You can checkout my Facebook page for the pictures. Once I receive the PCBs from the manufacturer and I've tested everything then I'll make another post. If you've wired up your own ogx360 with relays, I'd love to hear about it here. Cheers! @Ryzee119 @Anarchy42085

I got a SPI2PAR2019 kit and an HD44780 compliant screen and tried to wire it up last night but ran into some problems. The LCD just shows zeroes on the screen. When it first powers up, I see 2 of the 4 lines filled with solid-square characters (two full rows of solid boxes, rows 2 and 4). Then after the Xbox boots up further, the screen goes blank, then shows zeroes (see photo). I'm also seeing some flickering on the screen showing the zeroes. I checked the wiring diagram of the LCD I'm using and verified that points #1-16 correlate to points #1-16 on my LCD, so I don't think it's that. I also tried powering the arduino with a USB battery bank and that didn't make any difference. I have a 2nd LCD that showed the same issue. I have a 2nd spi2par but haven't wired that in yet. I've enabled LCD options in XBMC to no avail. SPI2PAR2019 from ChimericSystems.com White on Blue 20x4 LCD Character Display from CrystalFontz.com Wired through an OpenXenium modchip. Thoughts: Shorten wire going from spi2par to LCD. Try getting rid of the wire entirely and just soldering the spi2par straight onto the back of the LCD. Perhaps the spi2par doesn't come pre-programmed? Not sure how to tell if it is or not. (I asked the seller for details)

Hey guys! I made a video guide on how to install / setup the OpenXenium modchip on a 1.6 OG xbox including an LPC rebuild installation. These chips are not much more than the Alladins prebuilt and significantly cheaper if you want to build one yourself. They're way more feature rich as well and support multiple bios' + LCD support. I'd highly recommend these chips my dudes. Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions.

Came across a X3 box with LCD ad BIOS bank switches. The problem is the clock Cap leaked. I want to move it to a known good motherboard but the LPC wiring to the chip differs from this link. https://team-xecuter.com/x3/tutorials/x3pin1015.htm Is this the most up to date install manual for a X3 chip ?

Hey guys, I decided to rig up a tutorial for everyone who's looking to try out or install an insane LED controller chip in their Xbox. These chips are now for sale for 45USD, please contact me directly for availability and purchase. XERC CME (Case Modders Edition) was manufactured by Sickmods back in 2005. This chip has disappeared off the market a long time ago and is very difficult to obtain a real one. With a bunch of research and work and finding contacts this chip was able to be cloned. Installation Manual PDF: http://www.mediafire.com/file/2v72kovhkxk3am2/xerc_users_manual.pdf/file If you haven't downloaded the PDF file i can give you a run down on what the chip can do. Power Console On and Off via Xbox remote. Eject or close DVD tray on the fly with remote. Audio LED pulsation, LED's pulse to the sound of your Xbox. Remote configuration, setup and configure the buttons the way you want. LED chaser Mode, toggle through modes changes the LED chase patterns with remote. Speed up or Slow down led sequence. SmartXX OS boot Support Connects to MS DVD Dongle internally for menu browsing with remote (Perfect for XBMC media) Installation - (Motherboard to Chip) There are points on the Xerc CME chip which need to be connected to the bottom of the Xbox motherboard depending on which version you have. Details of Chip: LED +/- (Indicator light for the chip used for configuration of the remote and initiation when plugged in.) +5V (5 Volt Power Source, connect to the 5 volt source on the Xbox mother board, Powers LED's) PWR (Power, connects to the power on the Xbox motherboard) GND (Ground, connects to the grounding on the Xbox motherboard) PO (PowerON or RF, detects if the console is powered on, connects to the PO on motherboard) DB (Drive Button or Eject Button, the chip is able to eject your DVD drive by Remote, connects to the eject button port on motherboard) PB (Power Button, the chip is able to power your console on or off via remote if connected to the motherboards PB point) IRd (Infrared Signal, connects to the IRd point on IR receiver.) IR- (Infrared grounding, connects to the grounding IR-minus point of the IR Receiver) IR+ (Infrared power, connects to the power IR+ point of the IR Receiver) PB5 (Not Used, mainly for people who want to program in another mode) PB4 (VU Meter for the chip, Connects to the Audio L point on the motherboard) PA7 (Not Used, mainly for people who want to program in another mode) +5V Square (power point for the LED's, connect the power side of your LED's directly to the chip. H1 (Port 1 of the led Chaser mode (Grounding point for LED's)) H2 (Port 2 of the led Chaser mode (Grounding point for LED's)) H3 (Port 3 of the led Chaser mode (Grounding point for LED's)) H4 (Port 4 of the led Chaser mode (Grounding point for LED's)) H5 (Port 5 of the led Chaser mode (Grounding point for LED's)) H6 (Port 6 of the led Chaser mode (Grounding point for LED's)) H7 (Port 7 of the led Chaser mode (Grounding point for LED's)) - if Firmware Supports (P12 & Higher) Installation - (Chip to LEDs) you can essentially use your own schematic for LED's but this is a diagram on how they connect in sequence. the chip simply shuts off one of the chaser ports and turns on the adjacent port making the LED's chase each other in a pattern, according to this diagram its for 3mm blue LED's with a total of 34 LED's in the top Lid. H1 port requires a 22 ohm Resistor and H2-H6 requires a 15 ohm resistor. Port H7 is not used in this diagram but could be rigged up in parallel. if you are unsure about what resistance to use per LED here is a link to calculate what ohms you need: https://www.kitronik.co.uk/blog/led-resistor-value-calculator/ In Color: In Power/Ground: Installation - (Chip to Microsoft DVD Dongle) Connecting to the MS Dongle requires a 1N4148 Switching Signal Diode so the chip is able to detect and switch over to menu browsing. you can buy these on E-bay for dirt cheap. This is the Installation of it in an Xbox: Final Result

OK, So the moment i joined i quickly rapid fired 10 posts so that i could download XVGM I quickly realized i had 0 idea what i was doing. After a bit of fiddling today i got the .xmv's to display. the insight came after buggering with adding xmv to menu items. once i allowed myself to get past the menu items and try a game it worked..... because. Simply having the preview in the game folder as preview.xmv will display the preview.... now i understand what cbgames talks about when "tricking the video" its like having an image with the video embedded..... so much brain power!! Anyways. Getting back to the menu items. In the unleashX settings\system i found "allow menu edit" this is typically turned off sort of like a safe guard for users that shouldnt be tampering. so you turn it on and then you are able to manually select the preview video for that menu item it adds to the context menu that appears when you press start on a menu item.... COOL. So now all the XMV are working.... and hot damn. unleashx transformed. silly thing. the skin wont stay as default.? it resets on reboot. any ideas for me?

I plan to ftp my game files over to the hd another question I have. Can I use the hard drive as an external hard drive after I have installed a front end and transfer all my files at once with an external sata to usb adapter ? Past mod exp is n3ds ps2 softmod and hard mod with 4tb hd wii loaded softmod wii u softmod loaded sega dreamcast complete library with flash sd slot Moderator: Topic Title changed from Aladdin Chip Modder to Aladdin Chip Modder - XBmc Origins Installation, How?

PROBLEM SOLVED check the thread for the answer. Hello, an unusual problem shown up. After ram installation, Xbox started to frag, decided to resolder every leg. After this, system does nothing when the Power Button is clicked. Tried with another power supply, same result. Removed the ram chips, cleared the joints, same thing. It only tries to boot, the led on the Ethernet port blinks once - then nothing else. - Xbox Motherboard 1.2 - TSOP-ed with ind bios 5003 - Ethernet port led blinks once (the front panel leds are not active at all) - RAM chips look to be counterfeit because they have SAMAUNG on it, not SAMSUNG (but after their removal, the problem is still here) Can somebody point on where I should dig, please?

I already know how to use the tools to softmod. But where can I learn about how the game exploits are used to softmod, from a technical point of view? Like with Splinter Cell, you load up a bad save, there's a buffer overrun somewhere, jumps to some arbitrary code that XXXX? I assume the exploit code installs a new dashboard and everything, but doesn't Xbox also do a signature check to make sure that the code is signed before allowing it to run?

Used to allow the cloning of hard drives for softmodded consoles. Burn it to a disc. Features are : check connected drives, hard drive cloning, check security status, locking/unlocking (never unlock your original hard drive. EVER!!), shell commands, etc. Awesome tool to have! http://www.mediafire.com/file/uhwj037vsb6gj3s/Chimp2618.zip
