Hey y’all, I have softmodded og Xbox for 3 months ago and up untill today snes emulation was fine (nba jam, contra etc..) Today when I was playing contra iii the sound started lagging noticably -also the music and sounds scatter a bit or play twice instead of once. I tried rebooting and removing and replacing the rom. Didn’t work? Does anyone know what the cause of this problem is? is it fixable? thank you so much if you’re willing to help.

Hello i need help navigating the standard XBMC4GAMERS skin because it is totally black (but I can hear the navigation TICK) i have a 2003-09-02 XBox I soft modded with Rocky5. I am having trouble with the upgraded 500g HD. I have selected a skin that is just a black screen. I did this because the 480p 720p option was greyed out in the options menu. I’m hoping I can just select the original skin and everything will go back to normal. but if this is a fatal error I have the ability to FTP on my laptop to fix the deleted .xbe or any other file required

Need help 1.6 xbox softmodded on hard drive first with sids5 updated to rockys 5. Recently installed alladin mod chip. What do i do next so i get a dashboard. I have hexen cd and have eeprom key for hard drive. What steps do i do.

My setup: -Xbox 1.6 -Aladin modchip -500gb sata hdd -adapter sata ide pretty new and funcitonal -truHexen2021 boot disc, booting just fine After i've managed to install everything with the boot disc, the console hangs in evox logo. If boot with the disc, it loads ok. Steps: -Boot disc, prompt "new hdd", formated -Hdd tools, formated again with xbpartitioner 1.3, leaving only f partition 430gb~ -Created only F partition, not g. -Install dashboard: xbmc4gamers: prompt: use as main one? Answer: Yes (on f partition) -Clear cache, check if f is created on file manager, apps folder ok, xbmc4gamers ok. -Took off the disc -Boot xbox -Evox logo hang screen. microsoft text below the screen Did I miss something? Hello everyone, I want to store my game collection in the most authentic way possible (matching Redump) but that takes a lot of storage. So, I did a little bit of research and now I have few questions (and few requests) that I hope someone could help me with. It seems to me that there are three main formats for storing a retail OG Xbox disc: (1) Redump ISO (2) XISO (3) Extracted files/Game Folder I did some testing with: Halo - Combat Evolved (USA) (Rev 2) {crc="013986d0"} JSRF - Jet Set Radio Future (USA) {crc="b2a882df"} Mortal Kombat - Deception (USA) {crc="007bcbcc"} A ----------------- In the Xemu documentation it is mentioned that you can create an emulator-compatible .iso file by using either of the commands: -with dd: dd.exe if={redump_game_name}.iso of={output_game_name}.iso skip=387 bs=1M -with extract-xiso: extract-xiso.exe -r {redump_game_name}.iso But these two methods produce different .iso files. The one created with dd.exe is much bigger. A1- Are these two different forms of XISO or is the .iso file created with dd.exe just a trimming hack and not a proper XISO? A2- Is what is trimmed with dd.exe the same for every retail disc (meaning we can just keep one copy to rebuild every disc with it)? A3- What is the effect of using the two commands together? A4- In this post JayFoxRox says that we can separate the video and game partitions and recombine them later. Also he says that the video partition is the same for most retail games. Is that true? What games have special video partition? How to separate the two partitions and recombine them to give the original Redump CRC? If the video partition is the same for all/most games, that would mean that we can keep one copy of that partition to recreate the Redump ISO from any XISO file (saving a lot of space). The exception being the random padding that we need to find a way to recreate. B ----------------- Extracting the files from a Redump ISO with with extract-xiso extract-xiso.exe -x {redump_game_name}.iso then generating a .iso with them extract-xiso.exe -c {Folder_with_all_the_files} gives a .iso file with a different CRC32 to the .iso file that is created from extract-xiso.exe -r {redump_game_name}.iso I tried to use IsoBuster 4.8 (free) on a Redump ISO. It worked for listing the LBA for the files and for extracting the game files. IsoBuster always showed 4 partitions for the Redump ISOs: SEP13011042 SEP13011042072 VIDEO XBOX and two partitions for the XISO created with extract-xiso: - {it's just a dash} XBOX The files didn't change (I extracted again and compared) but I noticed that the some LBA for the files is different. Maybe there is something else that is different as well? B1- Is there a program that can create/edit ISO files based on LBA information (maybe like PS3 ISO Rebuilder with IRD files)? B2- Does this mean that we need to create files like IRD files for the PS3 (Layout files?) to be able to recreate an XISO file from extracted files? B3- Anyone knows a program that can do that for XISO files? For Redump ISO files? (similar to Redump2IRD) Note: I tried IsoBuster 4.7 and didn't work for me. In their release notes for 4.8 they mention {better XISO support}. General Questions: 1- Do you think we should start a database for the random blocks seeds using the tools in HERE? (even though we can't do it for all discs right now) 2- Can anyone provide the attachments from this thread? 3- Can anyone provide a compiled version of this program?

I chip modded my Xbox 20 years ago when I was in college. Not sure the type of chip but I can find out if need be. Evolution X executor rox my box load screen. Fast forward and now I have 4 kids who have resurrected the Xbox, ages 4-11. I suspect one of the kids messed up the bios but I really don't know. One day, the kids can't get into system utilities anymore and load games. Here is the screen it boots to. Not sure where to go from here to get the machine working but I can follow directions and my 11YO is as nerdy as I used to be, so I'm hoping all is not lost. Any guidance appreciated.

Hello there everyone! I posted a little bit around but then I considered the many peculiarities of my situation and decided that it was better to open a new topic. I am going a little bit out of my mind trying to softmod an Xbox 1.00 fw 4034 NTSC-J. I am aiming to play some titles in english and therefore softmod is a must. I am not totally inept with soldering iron but if I wold like not messing around with the motherboard. I checked my options and it seemed that Hotswap was the best alternative. I found a couple of posts on reddit (here from Rocky5 and here). The second post is interesting because essentially presents my same case and the OP resolved with a previous copy of XboxHDM 2.3 Beta 2 and ndure 3.0 but then in the comments another poster said you can just use the XBHDM utility of Rocky5softmod. This was a long route. I thought to start from the easiest way to edit files in the HDD through hotswap: Xplorer360. I planned to use Xplorer360 with the error 12 unplugging the dvd drive but it gave instead the error 11. The error 11 was just the start, I tried other ways to unlock the drive but it still does not show up in Xplorer360 (despite it showed up in DISKUTIL many times). Used other hotswap strategy. In-game technique seemed the one that produced the best effects since it came up in the DISKUTIL but still never on Xplorer360. I dropped Xplorer360. I upgraded to XboxHDM 2.3 Beta 4 I planned to do with the Rocky5 Build 1.1.8v/Installer Variants/XBHDM. I was able to connect it to the PC via ide-usb cable, check in DISKUTIL and check with XboxHDM 2.3 Beta 4 that the hd is "ATA secutity is: enabled, pw Level Max, not locked, not frozen [sec5]." I would like to make a backup and I want to move the rocky5 files now. I moved the XBHDM build from the "installer variants" folder in Build 1.1.8. load the XBHDM for the drive. When I load the xbrowser in XboxHDM and press f2 for menu it gives me a "Cannot open file /usr/local/share/mc/mc.menu". f4 (edit) blanks the page with "C" [Read only] line 1 of 1 --100%-- which factually makes the XBHDM crash (no way to go back). IN A NUTSHELL: from here I am lost... what should I do? I run everything as administrator but no luck. Should I first unlock the drive and disable ? no Disable? i am really confused... I dont have the eeprom reader so i cannot extract it in that way. I order solder ink pen but it will take time but worst scenario I think I might TSOP, but does that too need a softmod first? Anyway I think that I must be close... any suggestions on how to proceed ? Sorry for the long post and thank you for reading!

Hi all im still very new to the og xbox. i bought my xbox from a modder that had everything setup for me yes i should have done it myself so i could learn lol on my main menu i have all my emulators listed but i have lost my shortcut to xbmc4gamers i can still load it by going to programs and selecting it but it was nice to have a shortcut for some reason today my whole dash reset to default i have no idea why and this is why i have lost my shortcuts and as i did not set this xbox up i have no clue how to get the xbmc4gamers shortcut back. thanks

I'm hoping someone can clarify the process for upgrading my HDD as looking to store games/emulator etc as the end result. I've already prepped the board for a TSOP mod with the links whilst soldering on extra RAM. To upgrade my HDD my understanding is the following: Softmod First? TSOP Then can fit bigger HDD? I've managed to find a unicorn WD Blue IDE 320GB HDD and thinking I could just image the drive and clone using Macrium? Then extend the partition to fill the 320GB drive I have - Would that work or do I need to use any extra/special tools? The information is available in places but it all seems scattered some just say TSOP but others say to TSOP you need to softmod first? It's been a while since I've had time to play with it again - booted up and played some games on it for the first time since fitting the RAM months ago only last night! Thanks

So, I'm an old man and I can't remember how I flashed this XBox years ago. I have an Aladdin XT Plus2 with Evox +3935 and M8plus_16 fan 40.06 (not sure what size bios that is). I wrote a 2TB image to a drive and get an error telling me to upgrade to LBA48 ver 2. Can someone point me in the right direction. I do have FTP access to the box.

Hi guys, My problem is that i can connect to ftp via filezilla and i can also download games from my hard drive but if i want to upload games it always says connection to server lost... and then retries. What i have is a Alladin XT plus and evolution x. Maybe someone knows the problem.

Good afternoon team, I recently found my OG XBOX which I can't remember the last time I actually powered it on (possibly up to 10 years). I originally bought it to play emulators on back in the day and after watching some youtube clips on how the emulators have kept being updated, thought I would try to get it working again for the lols. I didn't have any cables anymore so orders some cheap 3rd party ones and a controller off of eBay. I held my breath and pressed the power button for the first time in forever... and to my surprise it tried to boot up, but then gave me the reboot x 3 and started to display the FRAG. From what I can tell the chip is an Xecutor Pro 2.x I tried various switch combinations but to no avail. I have also disconnected and reseated all the cables I could see, but to no avail. I have no way of determining if the HDD has failed (it is IDE and I no longer have any IDE tools/plugs), but if I remove the drive and try to power the xbox on without it, it still follows the same process (reboot x3, then FRAG), so I do not think that is the problem. I can only assume there is something wrong with the bios or the board itself. My question is: is this salvagable? Am I able to get it working again? I got a friend to mod the xbox back in the day so my technical skills with it are lacking. From the googling I did, apparently a XeniumICE mod chip might be able to bring it back to life, but I am not sure if that is compatible with the mod chip I already have (could they be swapped out?) and I am a noob at best at soldering (and I recall the Xecuter being difficult to solder). I have attached some photos of the machine and can give more information if needed. The searching on here seems to mention that the bios might need to be reflashed etc but this was one of the chips that needed a printer cable to connect ot it and reflash, so that might be an obsolete option now. Hi all !I have an Xbox Original which is hard modded (i think is Aladdin mod but not sure, see picture). I have recently being adding stuff through FTP method, which had worked great until now. I tried to boot unleashx instead of EVO X which am currently using, but i accidentally renamed a file (i think it was unleashx.xbe) to something else and now it wont boot. it shows error 21 and the FTP method wont work anymore. Booting from disk also is not an option.Anyone knows how to fix this? i head that a hard modded xbox is easier to fix than a softmod. I just need to access the HDD to just rename the file back to how it was. I tried using explorer360 (run as admin etc.. ) but could identify the driver in any case.Any help would be appriciated, Thanks.

I am attempting to upgrade my HDD on my hard modded 1.0 but my system won't load truhexen from the DVD. It worked on the original drive so I believe I burned everything well enough but I keep getting error code 13 on the new drive. The cable has been replaced with an 80 pin. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here.

so here's the thing I can't launch my games from the DvD drive it spins and initializes but won't launch games.

About to tsop my 1.2. i have the latest og xbox installer disc, my 80 wire ide cable is ready to go, soft mod is in place, I have my sata 2.5 inch adapter and 250 gig hdd to put in. I also have my xonductive paint for the tsop. I have seen all the tutoruals on yt that i can find but i am stuck with wondering if i should use evox or ind bios. This will be my first time tsop flashing and adding a bigger drive. I havent even seen whats on the ogxb disc yet. Is there a tutorial on ogxb installer? Or any other suggestions?

Hi again Following up on my previous post about mt ram upgrade. Ive ran into another issue. I have installed a 1tb HDD. Prior to upgrading my ram I had already formated the with F partition taking 120gb and G partition taking the rest of the space. I have filled F partition with xbox games which has taken quite some time. Ive now realised that IND-BIOS 5003.67 will not read G partition. M8 bios will read the G partition but then i wont be able to take advantage of my extra ram. From what Ive read it is to do with how my G patition table is written. If this is the issue, is there any way I re-write the partition table without disturbing the data?

Been trying to find good links for MameOXtras and the newer addon updates for Ninja. Unfortunately all the ones I try are not being seeded and stop abruptly. Any help welcomed.

I have tried to copy an iso from my windows 10 pc using both Filezilla and FlashFXP but to no avail. It stops during the transer. On my computer it shows a single iso file but in both filezilla and flahsfxp it shows the samefile name with 2 isos. I always go with the larger one wrhich is over 7.2gb but once it reaches 4gb exactly it fails to transfer the file - what is going on? It's years since I transferred a single iso - any help greatly appreciated.

I found an original xbox. I don't know much about it. It was opened, but I doubt that it was modded. I bought cables, which were lacking. I tried to connect it to my flat panel tv via a composite to HDMI converter. I can see the blue screen on the HDMI channel, and I can see it switch from 720 to 1080p, so I am convinced that is working. I never see anything from the XBOX though. All I get is a flashing green light. I don't have any idea of what's wrong or how to go about fixing it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm planning to use Ryzee119's Aladdin LCD driver but want to use the Xblast modchips I have as they are essentially the same thing. I'm just looking for some help to identify the LCD connection points for the Xblast as I don't have an Aladdin chip to compare to right now. Looking for points RS, E, Vo and RW on the Xblast

So I had a hard modded xbox from long time ago. I followed the steps and got this img to work on that xbox. So i went out and got a none modded one. Installed a OpenXenium following Mr Mario's youtube video. Then i installed the img onto another hard drive and everything worked beside it would not see drive G. So i tried a few things and nothing worked. But now after i get to the flubber screen. It just goes to a black screen and nothing happens. Am i doing something wrong? I am not doing this to resell these consoles. I wanna give them to my brother / uncle who wants one.

So a day ago I got a 1.6 xbox with x3 (purple) model in it, and decided to flash force480p bios while I am waiting until my 1.4 with xboxhdmi returns from installer. Flashed that bios successfully, but console does not output any video signal. Also, about a year ago I had another 1.6 xbox with x3ce chip, and I do remember that force480p bios worked flawlessly. Anyone knows what the issue could be? Things I tried: Wiping X3 eeprom (a+b+x+y on bootanim) Downloading bios from multiple sources Flashing over various methods (http flash; ftp flash; flash from internal hdd) Flashing on both 1-4 and 5-8 banks Trying with different HD cables (I have component cables and chimeric systems hdmi adapter) Trying on 3 different tvs

Hi! I was looking for unnecessary files on my xbox hardrive when i saw this: I realised that i have dashboard that i don't need. I opened it and saw that it even wasn't EvoX, but UnleashX (idk why). I already have UnleashX, but in different directory (C:/Dashboard). I need help which files to remove that are part of the unnecessary dash (I wanna keep the folders: Alt Dashboard, Applications, Backups, CACHE, MP3, PICS, TDATA, Trainers, UDATA and Video). Thank you!
