Hi guys, I've just recently got an OG Xbox again after being an early adopter back in the day. It's been interesting to see how the scene has progressed and I'm trying to catch up with as much as I can. Last week I softmodded my console and upgraded the HDD. I've been enjoying playing some classic games and it's made me wonder why I didn't do this sooner. Anyway, just wanted to say hi, cheers, Bobbus.

I need to look at the Power/Eject board on my Xbox. But before that I need to get off the front panel. And OH. MY. GOD. This is SO hard! I tried just pulling up on the three clips, prying the face plate off with a screw driver, or even doing both, but nothing! I took off the controller ports too, but still! What on god am I doing wrong?

The Cerbios 2.3.2 with HD+ support is not far away with the ElpisHD in beta testing https://www.xbox-scene.info/articles.html/cerbios-releases-new-custom-bios-v232-hd-alpha-with-hd-support-for-testing-bug-reporting-r28/ Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.

I need help. I cloned my 1.5 tb WD Green HDD to my new Hitachi 3tb Hdd and now when ever I boot it gives me an error 13. I'm using ind-bios .5004 and I tried using the heimdall engineering disc to reinstall the dashboards and repair them, but I still get the same error. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next. My console is hardmodded with an alladin xt chip and it ran fine before the cloning on the previous HDD.

So I have all my games working and have tried XBMC-Emustation & XBMC4Gamers, Ive updated the dash to the newest version (tried the stable and non stable version). Ive downloaded and updated the Xbox Artwork Installer but every time i run it, it starts and adds the artwork but it stops in the middle of the of the D's in my library. The percentage bar hits 26% and then it quits and just sits on the artwork installer menu. I can run it again but the same thing just keeps happening. Is there a way to just manually add the artwork using fatxplorer, this is the last step. I just need the artwork so i can run Xbmc4Gamers as my dash and have it look amazing!

When using/playing the MS dashboard, Halo CE, or JSRF, there's intermittent signal loss, or at least the behaviour of the TV is if the signal is lost (warning pops up). The audio will continue to work though (if plugged in through the reciever). I've got a video of this happening: Youtube video of signal loss. Setups I've tried: Xbox -> Chimeric -> Reciever -> TV (issue happens) Xbox -> Cheap component cable + cheap ADC with HDMI output -> Reciever -> TV (issue happens) Xbox -> Chimeric -> directly to TV (issue happens) Xbox -> Cheap component cable + cheap ADC with HDMI output -> directly to TV (issue happens) Xbox -> Chimeric -> Capture card -> Laptop (no issue) Xbox -> Chimeric -> Cheap projector (no issue) Xbox -> Chimeric -> Capture card (Elgato HD60 S) -> Laptop (no issue) & passthrough to TV (issue happens) Xbox -> Chimeric -> Capture card (Elgato HD60 S) -> Laptop (no issue) & passthrough to reciever and then TV (issue happens) Xbox -> Composite -> Cheap projector (no issue) Xbox details: PAL (Au) Rev 1.0 Delta DPSN-96AP-1 Aladdin XT with IND Unleash X Fully recapped PSU (didn't fix the issue) Replaced the large motherboard capacitors and a couple of the small ones next to the video DAC (didn't fix the issue) Unused Thompson DVD drive (un/plugged doesn't matter) WD 1TB Blue connected through an IDE-SATA (ofc) and 80 wire IDE cable. Molex -> SATA power is on the SATA-IDE card. Still had the same issue with the original WD HDD EEPROM set to NTSC Video output with 480p, and 720p enabled (480i seems to be issue free when using the Chimeric adaptor) Audio output with surround, DD, and DTS enabled No visible signs of trace rot, no signs of capcitors leaking, all removed capacitors looked to be in good condition and tested well. TV is a Sony KD-65X9000F (Au version of X90F) TV settings I've tried (in case auto detection is freaking out or something): Picture mode - Game Auto picture mode - Off Black adjust - Off Advanced contrast enhancer - Off Auto widescreen - Off Auto over/underscan - Off HDR - Off HDMI video range - Tried limited and full Colour space - Tried auto and sRGB "Motionflow" (not exactly, but effectively motion interpolation) - Off "Reality creation" (upscaling) - Off Smooth gradation - Off "Live colour" (Colour processing incl. fake HDR) - Off I've heard Deep Colour (introduced in HDMI 1.3) has caused issues in the past, but I can't find an option to turn it off anywhere, not even in the developer options. Reciever is Onkyo TX-SR494. Have tried multiple known good HDMI cables that can definitely carry 2.0 bandwidth. The Component -> HDMI DAC has an external power supply. This is it: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07JYHQRDJ I'm somewhat convinced that either the signal from the Xbox is borked, don't know if it's the PSU drooping, there's electrical noise, some thermal protection very briefly kicks in, or the motherboard capacitors I haven't replaced yet. I don't have an oscilloscope nor a way to monitor the HDMI signal to be able to further troubleshoot what exactly is going wrong. I'm after any more potential troubleshooting ideas, or knowledge.

Hey there gang. I have an xbox 1.6 that is completely shot. I have done everything possible to get it to power on but no luck. I wanted to know if there was a way of getting the game saves off the HDD. The Xbox was not modded.

So, this machine is running an X3 with a 160GB IDE drive. I wanted to mount some isos, since I won't have access to Mulleter for a little while and I need to download/install a few of the games that insignia is supporting. I went ahead and flashed the UDMA2 version of 2.03R, but it will not see my f partition... of COURSE. I'm new to diagnosing that particular problem, so I need some help. The only info I know is that the X3 bios is configured for "F gets all, no G".

I went and tried to move files around so I could be xbmc emustation on drive E as I had it on F. Now when I boot up the xbox I get a fatal error message "special://masterprofile/guisettings.xml, Line 0 failed to open file" Now am I completely ruined or can I just somehow boot back to a dashboard and reinstall xbmc emustation?

So far I've tried folders, zip files, raw/loose files in roms/scummvm and emulators/scummvm/roms, and creating .svm files with shortnames in them, no luck though. I'm wondering if anyone else has this working and can offer some guidance here. Loader.xbe in scummvm sees and loads them fine

I'm having some trouble getting both of these working at the same time; I have a M8+ 1.6 BIOS pointing to Rocky5's xISO patcher, which works fine, but when I try to pack it with XboxHD's patch and run it, it doesn't show up in the XboxHD app. This happens using both the edited or clean M8+ images as a base when packing it again. If I don't load the xISO patcher, the XboxHD patch shows up fine in the app. I'm wondering if there's a way around this or if anyone else has gotten these to work together.

Hi all. I just finished installing an OpenXenium modchip in my 1.1v Xbox. It boots into XeniumOS fine but I am unable to launch into any bios. I added the retail kernal to TSOP and it returns an error 16. This is using the original HDD and 40pin cable. I also bought a new HDD, IDE to SATA adapter and 80pin cable. Unfortunately I get error 11 with this setup. I've tried using the new 80pin cable with the original HDD and it still gives an error 16. I have also tried pulling the modchip out and having everything stock (Original HDD, 40pin cable) but it still gives me error 16. I'm not sure what else to do. Any advice would be really appreciated.

Hi can you bypass the DVD, I keep getting error 12. I have a DVD which is causing system to not boot. I swapped a DVD with my only working one and I was able to softmod. Can i use the faulty drive for the check.

I want to have coinops 8 massive just appear as a shortcut under Emulators in the main menu, but when I add the folder as a "source" in xbmc4gamers, it scans it and gets stuck on one .xbe called something like default_fpp.xbe and has to be rebooted. I can enter the directory via the file manager and boot coinops from default.xbe no problem, same for coinops ninja too - everything works great - but I just can't seem to get shortcuts working and it sucks having to use the file manager everytime I want to play an arcade game. Anyone know what the fix is for this? I even tried going to the .xbes and highlighting them and adding them directly to the favourites list but that didn't work either.

Hey all, Was known as SupaDawgX on the old x-s forums, and am dipping my toes back into the scene. Somehow managed to nuke my old 1.1 Xbox doing a hard drive upgrade (grounded out the power supply on a data/ide board), so now working on getting the x3CE and x3cp working on a 1.0 board.

I've been struggling recently with getting a dashboard on my recently flashed Xbox, and I'm not very sure where to go. I softmodded it with Rocky5 first, then I flashed it with iND-BiOS with no issues, but since it can't find any dashboard, it just goes black after the startup animation. I tried using two different burned copies of Hexen 2018; one either isn't recognized or flashes red-orange-green, and the other isn't recognized at all. Both discs were burned at 4x with PowerISO on Verbatim DVD-Rs, and the drive was able to boot a burned copy of Outrun 2006 and can play retail games, albeit with some difficulty. I was planning on installing a 1TB SATA HDD, and the only option I can think of is putting a dash on it via XboxHDMUSB and then putting it in, but I can't find any guides for this specific method and I don't have enough experience to really know what I'm doing when it comes to building HDDs. What can I do in this situation?

Hello, I am currently getting red and green flickering artifacts on my screen with all games with my Xbox. Not sure what the problem is. I have tried multiple different AV cables, televisions, and games thinking thinking that might have been the problem. But, it seems there is some major graphical error wrong with my Xbox, and googling the problem has not been easy. Does anyone know if there is a fix Thanks, Sam

Hi. I just took out my old crystal xbox with xecuter 3 chip, so I can show my kids how it was for me, and see what has changed in the game-scene Sadly I keep getting the 07 HDD error, so I am going to install a new drive. Just popped in here, so I can figure out how to do it

Hello everyone. I'm new here but not new to hard and soft modding. A bit about my collection...I have 4 ps2....3 soft mod with hdds....1 hard mod with chip. I also have a RGH 360 slim w chip and an old 360 flashed disk drive and a stock 360 slim. Also 2 soft mod wii and 3 ps3. 1 original with ps2 chip and backwards compatible. 1 slim that replaced that design and also a super slim. NOW to my oxbox... 1 with xbit mod chip. I bought a used oxbox and it had it installed already....I know that they are not the best but oh well it was $50 and came with everything and one of the 2 controllers was Duke and it had lots of other goodies like hdmi pound cable and internal hdd with games. For just $50, it seemed WAY worth it lol. Also have 1 oxbox that is soft mod and 1 that is stock. Ok, I'm thinking of adding in 2tb hard drives. They only have 250gb drives in each now. I basically just wanted to join this site to find others still enjoying and modding their oxbox and also for information and resources about doing that. I thought about making my own Xbox xtender but I read the post about it here and it seems the concensus is they are not needed. 2tb hard drive would be enough. Which is great! I look forward to using this site and meeting like minded people who still enjoy tinkering with their retro gaming consoles. Thank you!

I still have my first XBox from 2002 which was modded to death and never lost interest in the XBox scene. So... here i am back again I think one of the mods i did to my first XBox could be interesting for some: since i wanted a clean look i repleaced the On/Off button with a IR LED (to turn the XBox On/Off via the original remote control) and the Eject button was replaced with the "lid" (this translucent plastic that sits in front of the ir diode in the DVD dongle) but keeping the ring of light intact. Was a bit tricky but worth the hussle
