720p Games Patches(Ips) Thread

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, some may be familiar with the 720p patches thread on the Emuxtras website. I want to make a thread here as well so they won't be lost. Many patches have been made(by various contributors) with many (near) perfect conversions. Some games require a 128MB or even a CPU modded Xbox, like the ones made by N64 Freak. But many also run on the a standard 64MB Xbox.

IPS patches are really small (just a few KB's) and only contain the modified hex values and on what position in the binary they should be modified. You will need an application that can apply IPS patches if you want to use them. You can use Lunar IPS Please login or register to see this link. but there are also others.

Because the patches are only a few KB's this means it is also a good candidate to patch them directly on the Xbox in XBMC. This is also why I have named the patches after the game ID's and denoted the target Xbox (64MB, 128MB CPU) to facilitate this.

There is a project called python-ips( Please login or register to see this link. which runs on python version 2.7 (supported on XBMC) which seems to apply the patches correctly and can create backups. I might look into creating a XBMC python script that incorporates python-ips. But unfortunately I probably won't have too much time to do it and since I am unfamiliar with the XBMC specific syntax it will take a while.

However if someone wants to pick this up before me than that is fine. This also goes for other making additional patches. Some of the better games that seem to run amazingly were made by Silverrock see videos of Doom 3 (Please login or register to see this link. )  and Darkwatch (Please login or register to see this link. )

I will add the patches  here soon. You can check them out on Emuxtras if you want them now. here are some screenshots of some of the games.

I've heard of people modding their system to play games like Virtua Cop 3 but for playing games at 720p? First time I'm hearing of this. Wow.

Those screenshots look really nice! Unfortunately I don't have a 1ghz 128mb ram xbox, so I stick with 480p and widescreen patches

I found a couple of widescreen patches on ps2wide, but it's just a couple over there.

do you guys have a suggestion where I can find more?

Anyone know of a 720p or widescreen patch for Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind? I do see that you can play an original Xbox Morrowind disc on the Xbox ONE now. I tried it out and it looks really cool. Unfortunately, I can't transfer my saved game from my OG Xbox.

EDIT: Found it here - Please login or register to see this link.

pretty damn sweet, how did you manage to solve the HUD problem? maybe same could be applied to other games which have same HUD trouble.

Usually it's just 3 byte location in the beggining of the list that change the game to works at 720p
All the others byte's location or doesn't do nothing or breaks the game
It's a matter of find the right byte location. It's not difficult at all but it's very time consuming

I managed to make Silent Hill 4 work at 720p changing the byte location = 9189/1570116 Plus window View
The framerate is pretty good but unfortunately de HUD is not resized and there's a lot graphical glitches out of the hud area
The byte 9751 also change it but with even more glitches

Anyway if someone wanna try it here it is. Only for 128mb Xbox (64mb doesn't work at all)

      Hello everyone,
i'm new on the scene and a month ago i started with my first modded xbox project. I'm from the Netherlands and have a pal 1.6 hardmod xbox with EVOX M8 bios.
I make it to ntsc so i can use all hd modes and using the pound hdmi cable. My goal is to have a xbox with all games that where release on it on 1 disc. So i put a Seagate 3TB disc so i get the max of 2TB and use xbmc4gamers as dash. I found almost all games now, its a pretty challenge to fit them all (using soms ntsc instead of pal games or deleting all un needed files ).
i'm now in the mode to test al games (i start the game and go to the first level) and now i''m on the letter c with the club football games. There are around 36 titles (2003 and 2005 versions) but non of them starting. When i started it it goes to a black (blank) screen and nothing happend. I try different sources from games, all the same. Patching ith with 480p loader has no effect. I can find an ACL patch and default patching doesn't work. I don't think it's a image problem, because all club football editions don't start. All other games (so far i tested, now about 200 games) are starting fine (sometimes with patching or finding an other source\version of the game).
Any idea how i can start these games to work?
      Greetings,
      Mpnet

I've done the softmod with rocky5 and changed to NTSC in nk patcher and everythings good with componant cable picture wise in dashboard. I've tried launching tiger woods 2004 pal game via disc and just get blank screen ? is there a specific setup in the video options to get pal games to work once you change to NTSC ?

      Hi,
Many of the best games on Xbox have been ported to pc and/or wholly remastered for current gen consoles, and the OG Xbox is no longer the best way to play (eg Halo 2, Stranger's Wrath, etc.). I am looking for recommendations for great games which remain unavailable on PC and have not been substantially remade for current gen, thus making the Xbox still the best way to play. Examples:
      -Darkwatch
      -Conker Live and Reloaded
      -Ninja Gaiden Black
      -Breakdown
      -Black
      -Crimson Skies
Please give me your recommendations. Thank you!!!
