About Me

  1. Hi, Could someone tell me please if it's possible to use a 2tb hard drive (or either 3tb) on a softmodded console ? Regards.
  2. I just installed xbmc emustation and it looks great. I am only going to use it for my original xbox games that I have already installed on the hard drive. The only problem I have is that I don't have any artwork for my games - instead I see a list of games when I click into the xbox folder. In the menu there is an option called 'Xbox games artwork installer' but nothing happens when I select it. Any idea on what I'm doing wrong - I'm not familiar with xbmc - first time using it as I always used my xbox for coin ops but I recently purchased a second xbox with games I used to play back in the day such as Black and Burnout 3 Takedown.
  3. Hi Guys So I've been using a WD Green 240GB SSD in my xbox for the last couple of months. I haven't run into any issues yet. I do get a very slight boost in load time but the 80 wire IDE cable maxes out at 133mb/s anyway so there is obvious limitations. I originally decided to put this drive in my Xbox because it was cheap and I felt like it would last longer as it would have no moving parts. The drive I chose is DRam-less, as the Xbox will never be able to take full advantage it anyway. The drive funny enough is lockable. Wanted to get your guys opinion on this, what do guys think? I live in South Africa and we never got the Xbox when it came out. The first Xbox we got was the 360. Once I finally got one, modding it has been so much fun, only downside is most of the parts I've needed, I had to import. I happy to have found place like this where I can discuss ideas, and find help with issue I might have, as there is no one in my country who really knows what I am talking about.
  4. Hi All, What does the 1.4Ghz upgrade provide to the Xbox? I see it maybe a future option from Chimeric Systems and wanted to know what are the uses for it. Thanks in advance for answering my question.
  5. Hi; i would like to flash a 1mb bios to my 1.1 xbox. I downloaded truhexen disc and it only allows the option for xecuter modchips. The modchip i have is unknown. Could someone please assist?
  6. hey guys, i've a problem with my xbox-controller in connection to my pc. when I need to pair my controller with my laptop with the xbox app i am getting this mistake message: 0x800708ca do you have any concept what i'm able to do about it?
  7. Just wondering if anyone has tried wiring a USB joystick into the original XBOX? Just wondering.
  8. Hi Guys So I'm having a bit of an issue FTPing Enter the Matrix to my Xbox. So I have a redump XISO of the game which is more than 7GB. I then extracted the contents and it went down to 4.77GB. I then tried to FTP it over to my console but a few .txt files have a long name that is preventing the game from FTPing over fully. Do you guys perhaps have some advice as to how I can get the game over? I thought of recreating the XISO but that is over the standard DVD size, so I can't burn it. I currently have 2 xbox's, one softmodded with Rocky5 and the other is a 1.6 with an aladin mod chip running Evo X. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Hi guys, I've just joined. Great forum I have an original xbox softmodded with unleashx I have found an issue when setting the clock to year 2020, after a reboot the clock goes back to 2006. Setting the clock to year 2019 works correctly Im guessing the problem is some form of bug with the 2 digit year value in the RTC Do you guys know if anyone has worked on a patch for this ? Thanks
  10. Hey Everyone, I just recently got a xbox 1.6 in great shape! super clean and a like new shell. I installed OpenXenium chip inside, upgraded the drive to a 2TB SATA (may go to a 500GB IDE I have hanging around maybe) upgraded to a 80 wire IDE, and it works well, only issue is. The DVD drive is DOA. I found it cheaper to buy another xbox for parts than a working/tested drive on ebay. So I paid $5 +SH for another xbox. This one was listed AS IS and not working, case was fair shape. I got it, it's a version 1.0 and seems to work just fine, the DVD drive works as it should. I placed it into my 1.6 and it's fine. Question now is... do I keep the 1.6 xbox as is and call it a day? or should I move the modchip (it's only plug and play really, just gotta solder new header pins to the 1.0 xbox) to the 1.0 xbox? should I go with the 500GB IDE or 2TB SATA? could I move the heatsink from the 1.6 to the 1.0GPU to get rid of the fan on the GPU cooler on the 1.0? and I would assume the system shell is universal and I could use it either way. With the parts I have, what can I do to make the best xbox I could? Thanks everyone! ~John
  11. Hello everyone, I have known about this site for quite some time but have just never really got into it. It seems pretty nice though and I would like to check it out more often. After theisozone shut down and there seemed to not to be any other good OG Xbox sites except for emuxtras.net and xbmc4xbox.org.uk I lost some interest in the OG Xbox scene, but it seems I either overlooked this site or it wasn't how it is now back then. Good to see so many people still showing interest in the OG Xbox here. Floydthebarber
  12. I am selling my version 1.6 Xbox in a transparent ghost case. It has built in red cold cathodes, a Xerc XE, internally mounted microsoft dvd dongle, and 2TB hard drive. On the hard drive are all NTSC released games, all of the exclusive NTSC-J games, and some of the exclusive PAL games. Here is a video of the Xbox I am talking about https://youtu.be/jkzSsg6hWrg I am asking $300 USD for this Xbox. PM me if you are interested.
  13. I have Original Xbox, I had it since it was released... recently I powered it up, HDD keeps on spinning like crazy and never stops. I got the green screen with "contact support". I pulled the HDD 20GB and tried to connect it to my desktop, the HDD spins with none stop, and the drive was not shown/recognized by my PC. I am not sure if I install a new IDE HDD would work/boot. I searched for Xbox OS/dashboard to download so that I can install on the new HDD, it seems that I only need to install the HDD, and the Xbox will load from the build-in eprom/chip. Please correct me if I understood wrong
  14. Hey Guys! Is there a way to Copy my save game files from my modded Xbox to my 360 with RGH (for backwards compatibilty) if yes: how can I do that? :)
  15. I want to use my xbox as test patter "generator" to calibrate my TV specifically with my xbox via component cable. But not sure what calibration pattern and standard should i use. DVD and HDTV uses different standards, etc.
  16. Recently had a hard drive fail on me but i did null the hdd key before it failed. Just purchased a new sata drive but im having 0 luck figuring out how to obtain a nulled eeprom.bin or make one myself. If anyone could help would be greatly appreciated
  17. Hi everyone! I picked up an xbox on FB marketplace for $20 as I couldn't resist as I'd always pined over the system back when I had a PS2 and GC in the early 00s. It wasn't in the best condition but I was determined to bring it back to its former glory. (That gunk in the grills is cigarette residue, the whole thing stunk to high heaven) Resolute in my mission I cracked it open and spent the better part of three hours cleaning it. The system itself is a 1.6 and all of the capacitors appear to be in good shape, the DVD tray wouldn't open at first but after I disassembled it and gave the belt a clean it now works like a charm. I've gone all in and have since ordered an Aladdin X2 modchip, an LPC rebuild board an 80 wire IDE cable and an IDE to Sata adapter. I'll be installing a 3TB HDD but I'm waiting on those components to come from China before I can start modding in earnest. I'm picking up an HD AV pack from a friend (who found it in his closet haha) and will be setting it up on my Sony PVM 20L2 (which sadly doesn't go above 480i) but I've picked up a few games over the years in the hopes that I'd eventually get the system to match! Anyway I missed out on this system as a kid so I'm looking forward to playing through the exclusives and the superior versions of PS2 games I loved (Burnout 3, Timesplitters etc) Thanks for reading!
  18. i have 17 sets of ram that has been pulled from xboxs all the ram is working i was wanting 110 or best offer.
  19. I have a xbox. I softmodded then removed softmod. All went well. Softmodded with unleashx and later removed. All was fine. Then yesterday went to softmod with sid. In middle of process or at end xbox shuts down like normal. Then turned back on and now red/green flashing ring and video is not working. Any ideas? I have tried letting the clock reset but made a sure not to leave the console off more than about 5 to 10 minutes. I have left it on all night trying to find a solution. I am worried if I unplug it or power it off much longer it may turn into a brick. Any ideas? I loaded and backed up everything correctly. I have 2 video cables and checked that as well and no dice any help would be appreciated. The video im sure went out with the new softmod install. Not sure why. Any help would be appreciated. Id rather fix than throw it at the wall lol.
  20. Hi Looks like the power supply of my Xbox has died and was going to swap it with another Xbox a friend gave me, but turns out the hardware got changed somewhere along the lines and it's not do-able to swap the power supplies, so figured i'd just swap the hard drive instead allowing me to keep my games/dashboard etc. It's been a long time since i soldered the chip on my dead Xbox and the other one i have has a different chip. Anyway, am getting 06, 13 and 21 errors on the Xbox with the newly installed hard drive. Is there anyway to keep my existing files on my original hard drive? Remember something about the locking key on the Xbox hard drive - do i need to copy this over from the hard drive i removed? Am looking at downloading the Hexen disc to start off. Any help would be great. Thanks
  21. I have a Xbox classic and I need to change its region from PATL to NTSC to enable the HD on xbox and yes, I am using Component Cable and I am sure the cable works fine. I have used the enigma program to change it. It says "press A for PAL or press B for NTSC". I do press B but when I reeboot the console with the key combination triggers + white /black button the region won't change. I enter again on enigma and the region remains "PAL". I enter on the original dashboard, I went to Settings and the option to set the 480p. 720p and 1080i won't appear. Someone told me about the Shadow C thingy but I don't know what is that and how can I do something to Shadow C.Please help me. I don't know what's wrong. Thanks.
  22. So finally got the case for the HDMI cable finished! The cable itself does work good and is finally in the last steps off testing. Decided to add the OGX logo to the case to make it look even better. So a little more detail about the hardware now! It is basically a Component to HDMI converter that does reencode the Component signal to a HDMI signal. The Xbox will recognize the cable as a component cable and it is plug and play without the need for an extra psu or anything. The HDMI signal does provide stereo audio and there is an optical out on the pcb for digital audio. Can print the case in different colors once the cables are for sale! Before a lot off people ask about them now they will be for sale in around 4 weeks and i will post the add here in the Forums. Will offer them as finished cable and as an internal install kit without the cable and avip plug for those who want to do an internal install on there Xbox. So keep checking the forums not just facebook And without further talking that's how the final product looks like:
  23. Updated 4/25/17 Slim Xbox Original Laptop Build Photos are attached below. Hey everyone this is a log for my very own Ultra 5cm Slim Xbox Original Laptop Build. The goal for this build is to keep the Xbox originals originality by using the Xbox original case and to slim it down into an Xbox original laptop with wicked accessories. The Xbox will be cut down to just above the controller ports. The sides of the lid and the back corners of the lid will be cut off, sanded and reattached to the bottom of the case. The Xbox will then have a removable top plastic flat cover and or palm rest added to the case to replace the original lid. The original lid will no longer have sides or back corners on it, the lid will be cut to fit a Laptop LCD screen which will be powered on through the Xbox's Molex cable by using a shortened Y splitter cable. This cable will turn the Xbox's hard drive on and the Xbox's LCD screen on. The Molex cable Y splitter, splits the Amps the new Xbox pico psu outputs while the voltage remains the same. The LCD screen will either be a 15.6 inch laptop screen or a slightly smaller screen around 14 inches and will have a frame on the front of it and a cover on the back of the lcd. Two Xbox jewels will be used at the moment on this Laptop build. One jewel will be used and attached either in the center and or bottom right of the Xbox's LCD screen back cover. Another jewel will be cut into a rectangle around the Xbox logo and will be flipped over to the Xbox indentation logo side and displayed on the front of the console. There will be two to three models of the Xbox Ultra Slim Laptop at the moment, one will include two wireless controller inbuilt and will be the first model, and will be build into the Xbox Original case. The second model and third model details are yet to be released. Accessories included The accessories which are included are: The Xbox disc drive, modified into an external sata drive which can be plugged into an Xbox when its off and used easily for ripping games and playing disc games. The Xbox has to be turned off while plugging the drive into the new sata ports on the side of the Xbox and turned off while unplugging the drive. An Xbox original wireless handheld portable home device with a controller inbuilt into it. This is similar to a wii u like controller. The idea is to be able to walk around the house and be able to play Xbox as you go. These will be available for sale and the transmitter and receivers have already been tested and do transmit the video signal to screens away from the Xbox. The Xbox original will be powered by a 12volt DC 250watt pico psu, the psu is capable of outputting 20 - 20.83 amps. Whats inside the Xbox The Motherboard. The controller ports, LED modified. The 12 volt DC 250w Pico psu. A heat sink with an 80mm fan to cover the CPU A laptop IDE to sata adapter connected to the hard drive, the laptop hard drive will be positioned over the av and lan ports at the back of the console, between the ide slot and the gpu heatsink. A modified 80 wire ide cable will be used to keep the build tidy. Two Xcm wireless controller transmitters, which can be turned on and off by the use of switches on each transmitter. There will be four controllers used for this and only two can work at one time. Two controllers will be made into Wireless Xbox Portable Devices. Xbox will still be fully capable of handling wired and other plug in wireless controllers by turning off the transmitters inside the Ultra slim Xbox by the use of switches on the right hand side of the Xbox's. The Xbox will have the capacitors replaced to increase the amount of size available inside of the Xbox, by installing aluminium electrolytic capacitors which are smaller. The Xbox will contain one battery. A LCD driver board to connect the LCD to the Xbox's video signal. Two speakers connected to the driver board, receiving the audio signal from the Xbox's motherboard. An 80 wire ide cable. A Molex Y Splitter cable. A wireless xbox original internet receiver. An Ide to sata adapter on the left hand side of the Xbox positioned next to the ide port for the Xboxs external disc drive and other external accessories. LED Strips A custom assembled ATX cable. A 5volt sb to 3.3 volt standby converter made by me A 5volt sb to 3.3 volt standby converter final made by and purchased from N64 Freak. A 1tb - 2tb laptop drive. In total 2x 1tb - 2tb laptop hard drives drives, In the bigger laptop model, through the use of a hard drive selector and possibly modified original disc drive. Switches to allow for the turning on and off of the wireless Xbox controller transmitters and for the swi An additional fan port GPU heatsink Additional fans Power button Eject button Plastic to isolate the laptop hard drive and ide to sata adapter from the motherboard. Four Xbox Screws for the controller ports Six Screws to replace the Xbox original case mount screws. To hold the top casing with the bottom casing. HDMI Composite converter board, purchased from N64 Freak. Slide in DVD drive, possibly in this model or another model, although will only play burnt games and dvds and not Xbox Original games at this stage. Eight 1500uf 6.3 volt capacitors to replace the original 1500uf capacitors and the 3300uf 6.3 volt capacitors. At this stage possibly a new soldered on board ATX right angle plug for the Xbox original. At this stage possibly a new soldered on board ATX right angle plug for the Pico Power Supply. Xbox hard drive isolation and Xbox hard drive ide to sata adapter isolation. Xbox power supply isolation. Xbox heatsink isolation support. 15.6 inch or 14inch laptop screen with matching driver board. Additional 64mbs of ram, to make the Xbox have a complete 128mbs of ram. Xbox duo x chip or aladdin chip. Multiple USB ports, to allow for mouse and for inbuilt directly wired keyboard functionality for use on the Xbox Originals XBMC dashboard and on the Xbox original avaliable operating systems, including at the moment Linu , Windows 98, and Windows CE. The Xbox External Disc Drive Power button will be cut off from the eject board/power on board and wired directly back to the eject board while the eject board is mounted else where in the case. The IDE port will have an IDE to sata connector directly wired to it for the external disc drives port to best fit in the Xbox Ultra Slim Laptop, while a single double ide cable will be used to go from the ide port directly to the laptop hard drive. The disc drive will be made an external accessory by using its own IDE female to sata adapter plugged which will be plugged into the back of disc drive and use a sata cable to connect to the sata ports on the side of the Xbox Ultra Slim Laptop. An Xbox dvd drive power cable extension and port will be added as follows, Male to Female connector, which then goes from the Female connector to the Xbox left hand side mounted Male connector. The male connector which will be added to the side will allow for the power, eject in, eject out, to be connected to the drive. To avoid the Xbox throwing an Error from the drive not being connected in general, the Xbox will be chipped or tsop flashed. If the sata doesn't work due to the Xbox originals DVD drive adapter not having a slave pinner, an ide cable will be used instead. The Wireless Controller Device The Wireless controller device will include a video transmitter connected into the Xbox originals av port which will be powered by the Xbox's power new pico power supply or battery power included within the Ultra Slim Xbox Original Laptop Build. The transmitter is capable of transmitting the Xbox's video signal to another LCD screen when the video receiver is plugged into the composite av video port if that LCD screen. The video receiver will be powered by battery and will be connected to an LCD screen. The LCD screen will have a wireless controller build around the screen, inside of a custom case, which will likely be build out of an Xbox original case, to keep the Xbox's original case style. The back of the device will have an Xbox Original Jewel mounted. The wireless controllers being used are XXX XCM Wireless controllers these controllers are power by battery. The power required to use the controllers, an LCD screen, blue tooth speakers and the video receiver will be combined within the handheld device and the batteries will be rechargeable. The Project Log 1 Here's the ultra slim laptop at the moment. I have cut the power and eject button in half and will jump the power to the eject board. The eject button will be mounted on the front of the Xbox. The power button will stay in its originally place. The eject half circle hole where the eject button used to go will be fitted with leds for an on light and standby light. The original led lights for the Xbox errors will be present still. The power supply is a 12volt, 250 watt power supply, that will be turned on by battery. The power supply is almost set up at this time, although the wiring is not yet finished at this time. The Xbox is working at this stage with the new installed capacitors.

  25. Beeps, light and fan then off with no beep on for around 1 second? Xbox one s 1TB, push power button light beep and fan on then shuts off with no beep. i have looked online at possible causes and solutions. So far I have stripped it down to carry out some tests on the power supply and power rails/ apu mosfets hdmi leads all ok? power port ok apu mosfets ok fan ok does anyone have any links to video tutorials that give an in sight in to fault finding and full diagnostics of their mother boards? I find that all people start with some really great info and fault diagnostics testing then wrap it all up when they replace a mosfet rather than going on to lead you around the board say for example it’s not the mosfet then we test x,y z and so on until you have done a full diagnostics. also does anyone have links to test points and maybe a diagram any advice or support will help what are reading of the multimeter supposed to be can they differ on different boards? i have a keen interest to learn and absorb all relevant information related to fixing all consoles your knowledge and expertise would be great and hugely appreciated. please note I have tried to do the manual trouble shoot diagnostics hold button trick with no avail also tried a different hdmi lead and hair drier trick again with no avail. please help guys thanks in advance
