About Me

  1. Look at this on eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/184466110662
  2. title, they need to be working and come with the heatsinks. if 1.0, then controller port board as well. willing to pay 15 per board (including shipping). hard drive not needed.
  3. Hi! I have a topic to start. I'm already happy with my og Xbox upgraded with another 64mb of ram, but I would love to have it modded with 1.4 Ghz Tualatin. My console inside is 1.0 revision motherboard and was manufactured in Hungary, it is also modded with dual tsop and xblast. Do you know if somebody is still doing that upgrade? I've already PM'd to N64 freak but I'am waiting for his reply, so meanwhile when I am waiting for that reply I decided to find out if there is someone else for that job besides of that, I've read that he is only doing 1 Ghz, not 1.4 Ghz anymore - but I already have two proper tualatins so maybe I'll convince him. The only other person I know that was doing this is Trusty but I don't know where could I contact him. My soldering skills are very little, that is why I'm looking for somebody.
  4. So Hello. I bought hyperkin duke and that made me think man would it be cool to make this work with my original xbox. https://www.hyperkin.com/duke-wired-controller-for-xbox-one-windows-10-pc-black-hyperkin.html I have seen conversion made out of original xbox controller working with windows operating system so can I use that information to reverse engineer usb windows controller to work with xbox? I dont have any clue how xbox recognizes what kind of accessories are attached to controller port? So here are maybe few ideas how approach situation: Combining original xbox controller cable with standard usb cable? Could I use maybe wireless dongle for xbox and hardwire duke into that use it that way? All information is really appreciated.
  5. Hi all, just wanted to start a thread regarding my Crystal Xbox Original as its modded with Evox chip and only loads the Evox boot when the chip is enabled and I also press the LED pins with my finger (very odd, no?) I've included an image to show what I mean. The chipped Evox works in this case but wondered if there's anmything I should do? I'm also considering selling it once working. Thanks and cheers for the advice. GamerID80 - Also on the Facebook group.

  8. Hello everybody. I'm currently getting back into the Xbox OG modding scene after a long break. . . I currently have two modded Xbox's with different chips fitted, currently trying to ID what chips are currently fitted?? One of the Xbox's has a large hard drive fitted, and the other is standard, any recommendations on what hard-drive to go for.? Best regards Josh
  9. I recently acquired a Development Kit (DVT4) and decided to take some high-quality photos of the daughter boards from this console. They're pretty rare and obscure and I wanted to take some good photos for preservation's sake. I'm going to get a Raptor PCI card soon, so I'll add photos of that too later. More info- These boards were in development kits and consisted of two parts: DVD emulation board. When paired with a Raptor XDK PCI card installed into a computer, it allows a developer to master a game disc before sending a final copy to Microsoft for review, and later into production. This allowed them to test loading scenarios and figure out where certain files for the game should be physically located on a disc in order to reduce load times. When loading a level for a game, for example, all the files needed for that level could be grouped together on the disc to reduce the amount of skipping around the laser needed to do, which decreases load times. There is also a USB port on this card. While it uses a USB connector, it's actually a JVS port. This was used for hooking up arcade sticks and special components built for Sega Chihiro arcade cabinets, which is based on the Xbox's motherboard. Serial debugging port This allows a developer to get debugging information from the Xbox to see how their code is behaving on real hardware. When writing software, it's useful to see technical info about when and how a bug happens in order to fix it. This board connects to a PC's serial port to read diagnostic info from the console in real time. 10. Any of you consider it? I have a few Xboxes to play with and I'm really thinking of making one.
  11. Does anyone have a collection of Xbox UnleashX skins they could spare?
  12. Hello, I have used the official component cable for my original Xbox for years without any issues, until now. This is what happens: https://youtu.be/RihPxD0JcB0 This only seems to happen on menu's. No problems in-game so far. At first, I thought the cable was damaged, so I bought a Kaico HDMI adapter to replace it, but this is what happens when I use it: https://youtu.be/iLw4o2IqtGE I decided to grab my older Xbox from the attic for testing and both cables work perfectly on that console, so I think the cables are not the issue. I'm no expert at all, so can somebody tell me what's going on with my console? Can it be fixed?
  13. Just wanted to thank everyone who maintain and contribute to this site. Purchase a new to me Original Xbox (Version 1.2). Installed Aladdin XT Plus2 and upgraded to a 240GB SDD drive I had in my stash. Installed Hexen 2020 and now transferring the games I have from DVD to F drive. Everything working great so far.
  14. Hey guys, I've got a 1.6 Xbox that only spins the fan when I hold the power button. As soon as let off the power button, the fan stops. There's no video, and the xbox's eject light does not light up at all. The xbox last worked a few days ago. I unplugged it and when I plugged it back in, the above started. I've checked the motherboard and the power supply and there are no obvious burn marks or blown capacitors. I also checked the transistor next to the clock capacitor and it showed 3.25V when the power supply is plugged in. My one area of concern are the five 3300 uF capacitors next to the power supply connection on the motherboard. The tops look a tiny bit bulged. See the attached pics. Any suggestions on further troubleshooting steps? Should the five caps be replaced? Thanks for your help.
  15. I plan to light up a clear jewel when the xbox is in stand by with one or two led's. I searched the web, found a pic (some weeks ago and forgot where i found it) which say nothing to me. So maybe some could help me out here with a simple drawing or a picture for non electricians?
  16. Hi, Many of the best games on Xbox have been ported to pc and/or wholly remastered for current gen consoles, and the OG Xbox is no longer the best way to play (eg Halo 2, Stranger's Wrath, etc.). I am looking for recommendations for great games which remain unavailable on PC and have not been substantially remade for current gen, thus making the Xbox still the best way to play. Examples: -Darkwatch -Conker Live and Reloaded -Ninja Gaiden Black -Breakdown -Black -Crimson Skies Please give me your recommendations. Thank you!!!
  17. I recently tried to softmod my old xbox and bricked the hdd due to not ejecting the game disc in the end of the installation process. Now the dashboard is gone and I can't even boot retail games using the machine. I just bought an xbox with a modchip (xecuter 2) and I'm wondering if I could swap the hdd in the modded xbox with the bricked xbox and install the ms dashboard from a disc.
  18. any way to hook the hdd up to my pc and put the files on it directly? that'd take a few hours vs. 2 days to ftp.
  19. As above, The chipped xbox I mod'd a while ago with the SD card reader is locking up after the flubber screen. It displays the Ind Bios screen then just locks up totally. What is likely to cause this? Hardware or something to do with the SD card? Cheers guys
  20. Hi everyone, I recently did a 128MB mod on an Xbox 1.1, which was successful. Console booted nice, and ran for hours while gaming, even with a small NV & FSB overclock. I decided I didn't hate myself enough, and decided to go even further and replace all the K4D263238M-QC50 on the board, with the Samsung K4D263238F-QC50-variant, which is said to be tad bit more efficient. Thought this might allow for even more OC (never enough, right?), but now I've run into issues after replacing all the memory chips on the board: The console boots, but only runs for 5-30 seconds, before the screen starts to glitch heavily, with the system freezing as well. If rebooted after a glitch, without a small pause, the system will not boot, and will flash a green light. I've tried to do the following: - Reflow all 8 memory chips 4 times in total. No improvement. - Removed the extra 64MB memory, retaining only the original 64MB, just with the new F-variant memory chips. No improvement. - Replace the remaining 4 memory chips with another, fresh, F-variant memory chips. No improvement. Each time I complete a step, the end result is exactly the same: XBlast runs for the same 5-30 seconds, before glitching and freezing. I can run the memory test for the extra 64MB (when I had it installed), which always completes successfully, if I manage to run it completely before the system starts to glitch. If I connect a HDD, I can even boot iND bios with UnleashX, and everything works and shows correctly, before the system glitches and freezes. Always the same screen glitch effect, before freezing. The Xbox is modded with an Aladdin XT+, with the XBlast enchanced 49LF080A-chip. I can solder, remove or reflow the chips with confidence, with clear and clean solder jobs. I can share pictures, if required, but I'm pretty sure at this point that the solder job is not to blame. Have I nicked some important component somewhere with my solder iron? Are the F-variant memory chips simply incompatible with the 1.1 board? Anyone got any leads?
  21. As the title states I am repairing and modding a green 1.6v Halo edition xbox. This console was my wife's and we have had it in our closet for years. I decided to pull it out and see if this thing works for her to play as she refuses to play my PC or xbox one. She doesn't enjoy the new games as I do and wants to play older games she used to play as a child. As of now I have broken down the console and thoroughly cleaned it. I removed the heatsinks and removed all the old thermal paste and replaced it with noctua NT-H1, which is what I use in my PC builds. I noticed that the 5 capacitors closest to the CPU are all bulging and need to be replaced, so I ordered those. For mods, as of this moment I will be installing the Openxenium chip with the LPC rebuild board. I want to install a 2Tb hard drive and I know I'll have to upgrade the IDE cable and ad an adapter. Can someone add part numbers for the cable and adapter. I'll be using the WD Blue 5400 rpm drive for this. I have not made up my mind on BIOS and want to play around with several to find the one I know my wife can use with no problems. If anyone has some suggestions on BIOS let me hear them. Last I want to add some RGB lighting to the build, nothing crazy just a nice soft glow is what I'm shooting for. Not sure where to hook up to power and guess I'll have to search for some power pinouts and such. I would love to see some of your builds with lighting to get some ideas. Anyway I will be taking everyone along this journey as I build and learn this console. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated and I look forward to talking to and learning from you guys.

  23. hello all, im playing some Forza Motorsport the NTCS version and the collection of trainers i have only has a couple PAL versions for this game and they don't work with my version of Forza, so im trying to figure out how to make my own, i have setup an old laptop with windows xp and found a version of the XDK and installed it, can anyone help me out with this? should i try to make a evox trainer or some other format that is compatible with xbmc4gamers ? thanks in advance
  24. Hello. I am doing an expression of interest post here, have any of you done a polymod recap to a Original Xbox motherboard? I have a 1.0 and a 1.1 im looking to recap before I can put them up for sale (I do this with all my Xbox consoles once I receive them to ensure that they go for another 20+ years or however long) and noticed that the 1.0 and 1.1 units are 1500uf 6.3v for each four capacitors near the CPU and GPU, I have seen on AliExpress that they do indeed have 1500uf 6.3v polymer capacitors available. Would it be worthwhile to recap them with solid capacitors? the capacitors I am looking at are low ESR which is recommended for Xbox recapping, and if anyone here has done so please share your information and pictures of the motherboard after polymodding if possible
