About Me

  1. Trying to get rid of all these controller ports I have. 20 shipped in the us for a complete set for the xbox, choose from red, green, blue, yellow, white, or any combo of the five.
  2. Hi guys, I can confirm that this device works if you want to make a one to one clone of your XBOX Sata HDD: ORICO 6629US3-C-V1-US-BK USB3.0 to SATA Dual Bay External Hard Drive Docking Station I was able to successfully clone my my 1TB WD HDD for backup purposes: Cloned that with the same exact model. The actual amount of storage used was a little over 700 GB and took under 4 hours. Plugged the cloned HDD in and worked like a charm no issues. Great thing about it is the offline cloning function...so no need to connect it to your PC.
  3. Easy-Build for XBOX Original What is it? A tool in testing for compiling xbox code. Easy to Update script. https://github.com/Empyreal96/easy-build-xbox How to use: Have easy-build-xinit.cmd on the ROOT of a drive e.g: D:\easy-build-xinit.cmd Open easy-build-xinit.cmd Setup the Xbox trunk in your Drive root as specified in easy-build-xinit (VHD users are already set up) Let the script apply Team Complex patches (These allow the xbox trunk to be built) Once that's done, follow onscreen instructions until Razzle loads Type into razzle: easybuild You can now build from the Easy-Build mainmenu Built binaries will be in %DriveRoot%\xbox\xboxbuilds\fre{dump} Any issues or suggestions please open an issue ticket so I can look into it Information Windows XP - 10 x86 Fixed issues with mstools/idw folders incorrectly being set Basic Options for compiling 'Unofficial' binplace script 'xcopybins.cmd' to place some built files Added 'xmakesamples.cmd' which builds the XDK Sample CD. Added a WIP script to set off the XDK build see XDK below Fixed %_BUILDVER% not being set on razzle-easybuild handover Changed menu colours (I may change back depending on feedback) Small update to some 'dirs' files that adds folders to the build process that can build successfully Separated easybuild.cmd (mainmenu) to public/tools/ Actual easybuild.cmd shows correct Razzle Tool Path now, starts xcopybins.cmd as postbuild XDK Building InstallShield Professional 6.2 is required for this: I have included my currently in progress script to try and build the Xbox SDK. Currently it fails compiling the InstallShield specific XDK Setup scripts.. To run the script, load Easy-Build, drop to Razzle prompt and type "private\SDK\setup\xsdkbuild.cmd" If you want to help the development of Easy-Build, have some issues join the Matrix chat! https://matrix.to/#/!febkSwamiedCsfevDe:matrix.org?via=matrix.org NOTE: This is VERY early stages.. It is lacking in many features that Easy-Build-NT5 has.. If I get time I will eventually figure out more of the build system, any and all help is greatly welcomed!!
  4. I have a PAL Xbox, and I need to switch the region. If anyone in the US or maybe Canada could help me out here that would be great. Just trying to avoid the overpriced ebay shipping from the UK.
  5. 2nd picture will be in the comment. i'll let y'all know how these work out. they look pretty nice.
  6. I put together a package with all the software needed. I also included the SVF file generated by ISE's impact. This is now the easiest method for programming OpenXenium's CPLD chip. After setup, it's just one click. Merry Christmas and enjoy! https://sites.google.com/view/xc9500xl-with-openocd-ft232r/home
  7. Had many xbox's since launch and still have most of them. I've got one away atm having the xbox hdmi mod installed (its not going well). However I've finally decided to join the sata brigade and put a 2tb drive in my bedroom machine. First time i used X3 config to format the drive (F got 137gb and G the rest). Obviously after much time installing games on G: it started wiping itself. I read up, use xbpartitioner to split F and G equally (reduce size down on each by 1gb,64k clusters, reset and then return to max). All seems to have gone well. Only problem is DVD2xbox says that F has only got 128gb and G has 1.7TB. I checked xbpartitioner and shows up correct. Before i spend days installing my discs again, what have i missed. Finally, i can't believe all this love again for the OGxbox. I was gutted when xbox-scene vanished, as i loved to see the creativity of case/hardware mods etc. It all seemed to vanish with the 360.
  8. Good numbers, maybe worth a shot - https://madtechgiveaways.co.uk/product/microsoft-xbox-series-x-copy/
  9. This game can brick if you sell the wrong cars, restarting competitions doesn't make you recover money, so has anyone a trainer/save-game/cheat for this game to help me out ? Thank you in advance. Any savegame is acceptable, even if not 100% complete. Nope, there's no trainer for this game in the Evox list, I already looked for it just everywhere. Maybe I'm asking too much: but there's a way to edit the XBX files ?
  10. Had some spare time on my hands this year http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=40089135637815877933 Image_0010.bmp
  11. It's possible to unlock and relock the Seagate HDD over the COM port. I wrote up some instructions and a python script to automate the process. Files and instructions: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1X9YJdMUA1vZKSTEyvfA2OhaHScy0f6wzLk0nE7q9vLw/edit?usp=sharing
  12. Hi all, has anyone managed to come up with some good youtube-dl settings for downloading video that play nicely on the xbox? I've done some googling and really need to dig a bit deeper but thought I'd check here first. I'm imagining the downloaded media will need to be run though ffmpeg with some specific switches to get a container and bitrate the xbox can handle. Thanks.
  13. I am in the process of setting up Rocky5's excellent XBMC Emustation dashboard and am finishing it off with the C64 section at the moment. Is there a way to get the nice cover art like you can for the other emulators which I have had the luxary of fixing easily thru the downloads on XBMC Emustation?
  14. This is not yet for sale. I just want to see, whether there is anyone in EU (preferably Czech Republic or its surrouding countries), who would want a OGX360 or OpenXenium. I have ordered 5 of both from jlcpcb, i'll assemble them, keep some for me and sell the surplus.
  15. I am looking for _resource files specific for xbmc4games for the apps not the games like EVOX DVD2XBOX AVALAUNCH and others. Has anyone come across these ? Was never great with Photoshop to make them, if I did would rather look at the missing artwork default image.
  16. what would you say is the best 2TB drive for OG Xbox? the one ive just put in my modded xbox sum time gets stuck on black screen other times takes a bit long to load dash
  17. I have a Halo special edition Xbox with an unsightly crack on the case on the top left section of the X. So that will have to be covered. What I'm thinking about doing is making a plaster mold using the lid. Then I will order some plexiglass and hopefully attempt to drape mold it in my oven using the plaster mold. After that I will do some cutting with a dremel and replace the X on the green lid with the newly created X. Do you think this will work? Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? What color combination do you think might go well? That yellowish green background color of the halo case seems kind of tough to work with. The second thing is that the silver halo logo on the front is worn is some places. I would like to touch it up. Does anyone know the exact color of silver this might be? Thanks in advance for any input.
  18. I'm writing this up to share the experiences I have while going down this rabbit hole. I spoke with @KaosEngineerto get a better footing, and turns out there is far less then I thought there was on this topic, so I want to help others out who may find themselves in this boat. To clarify, the goal is to have original feel and operability of the original consoles on a modded XBOX's emulator. If I want to play NES Mario Bro's, it would feel and work better with an NES controller, same with Mario Kart for SNES, and Sonic on SEGA. But hell, most folks, especially us OGXBOX diehards, have no real issue with using a Duke to smash up blocks or grab coins, so I would consider this venture applicable to purists and those looking to satisfy house guests who want original feel of retro consoles. The first and best option looks to be the RetroPad Adapter by Bruno. If you have the money to grab this item, it should be worth it to save from making one from scratch. I opted not to go this route because of the cost, which is over $70 after it's shipped. I thought that was too much for hooking up a single controller, but others may see the value or be able to source and construct them locally for less. http://www.brunofreitas.com/node/41 http://shop.brunofreitas.com/ This link will take you to the git files for self constructing. Which, after looking to source al the parts, realized this too, was not a route for me. But for some, this is a great resource. https://github.com/bootsector/usb-retropad-adapter Why can't you just take an old XBOX controller plug and splice it to the retro controller? Well, tbh I don't know the technical stuff 100% but essentially the retro controllers are simple switches, where as the XBOX controllers have more circuitry in them and are controlled much like a USB keyboard. So a simple "patch" cable from retro to XBOX won't work, I've been told. Here's a resource on making an NES controller to USB using a USB keybard circuit. I've been told this won't work on the XBOX as it's USB meant for PC, same story with the second link. https://www.instructables.com/Make-a-USB-NES-Controller/ https://www.ebay.com/itm/NES-SNES-SFC-Controller-Adapter-Converter-to-USB-for-PC-Mac-PS3-Mayflash-New/164273318506?epid=2255282999&hash=item263f73ea6a:g:xyAAAOSw6oBXEj6k Now this link looked so promising, but unfortunately I can't actually find the article. The links on the site deadend or are misdirected. If someone can find the rest of this article (or a way to contact Phillip Torrone), it could save me and anyone else in my boat, some serious leg work!! https://makezine.com/2006/04/11/how-to-nes-controller-for/ If you're still reading, it means you aren't liking, or are still seeking alternatives to, the retropad adapter. I hope to be able to help and, if anything, my mistakes will help you to avoid them. My current plan of attack is to simply bash an old XBOX controller into a cheap NES controller. Both of which can be found for less the $20 from local game stores, craigslist, or ebay to name a few sources. This first post is to test the waters, see if anyone else has valuable info on the subject. But as life permits, I will be documenting my struggles as I get into the soldering and bashing with pics and details.
  19. Mainly the titel says it. I git a 360 today (pls don't throw old eggs at me for that :D ) which included a 512MB and a 256MB MU and i wonder if it would be possible to get one of those working on an OG XBox. Looks like both have a 5 pin design so there can't be that much of a different (except for the little "spacer" in the middle)?
  20. I guess I should have posted here first. My first softmod job was a 1.0 Bert and Ernie. That Xbox had a non-modded LG DVD in it. At the time, you couldn't upgrade a softmod hard drive. I come from the PS1 mod chip era, and spent a lot of time in the Dreamcast community. The Xbox was the next logical step that blew the doors wide open. Fast forward to last year. I bought six consoles with various hardware problems (Samsung stuck trays, Philips and Thompson drive failures, caps etc..) and jumped back on the net to look up X-S and get my bearings back. I was shocked that it was gone. I found Rocky5's softmod package, watched some Youtube videos, and was literally blown away by how far things have come. Xbox isn't a niche console like the Dreamcast. It's a fantastic piece of hardware that has much promise. Here's hoping I can donate some info along the way. Cheers and thanks for having me.
  21. title, they need to be working and come with the heatsinks. if 1.0, then controller port board as well. willing to pay 15 per board (including shipping). hard drive not needed.
  22. Before today I did not even know there was such a thing as a push fit pin header. Doing a bit of researching about pin header installations I came across a video about just such a thing being used with a Raspberry Pi. Great idea I thought but wondering why nobody has ever suggested using one with the Xbox or perhaps actually fitted a chip using it rather than go through the messy and rather uncertain process of soldering in a pin header. If I'd known earlier I would have seriously considered trying this myself and maybe not lost a MB, which may have been faulty anyway, but my lousy soldering certainly did not help. You'd still need to do a bit of soldering: the D0 point of course but that is relatively simple. https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/gpio-hammer-header?variant=35643241098
  23. hello all, im playing some Forza Motorsport the NTCS version and the collection of trainers i have only has a couple PAL versions for this game and they don't work with my version of Forza, so im trying to figure out how to make my own, i have setup an old laptop with windows xp and found a version of the XDK and installed it, can anyone help me out with this? should i try to make a evox trainer or some other format that is compatible with xbmc4gamers ? thanks in advance
  24. As above really, After trying a Pound HDMI converter and finding it lacking I was looking for a OG box component lead to get the most out of these little gems. But the only ones I can see on Ebay are the £5 jobies which may or may not be shielded but prob not.... such as these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/273917043356 So anyone know where I can get one? Ime fine with 3rd party stuff and dont mind paying upto £20-30 but I aint paying the asking prices of the originals lol
  25. Does anyone know the jack size for the 6V 1A power adapter used for this thing? All the ebay sellers that have the power supply blur out the model number and overcharge.
