This is a little project I worked on from October 2024 to January 2025 with help from Skye and HoneySoakedSegull. Original idea by Siktah (he had been nagging me about this for a year). Before anyone comments or asks, yes this just transfers the solder skill requirement from the repair person to the board assembler/merchant. This isn't something everyone needs, and I think it's rather pointless, as I just do my own trace repairs. That being said; not everyone has precision soldering equipment, not everyone has fantastic magnification to do their solder work, and not everyone has the effort for traditional front panel trace fixes. Without further ado I present Hugin and Munin trace fix cards and the D0-ET board. Siktah and I entered these as an exhibition entry into Xbox-Scene Modfest 2024: https://www.xbox-scene.info/articles/xbox-scene-modfest-2024-celebrating-homebrew-innovation-and-the-modding-scene-for-xbox-xbox-360-xbox-one-and-xbox-series-x-r54/ The boards are to be used in pairs, 1x Hugin (A) board and 1x Munin (B) board per repair. all 1.0 and 1.1 boards use one set of boards, all 1.2-1.6 boards use a different set. They require a 25cm ish 0.5mm pitch, 4-pin flex cable to jump between the two boards, and you only enable the trace repairs you require on the Munin (B) board. The flex connector must be folded 90 degrees one time to for the contacts to like up correctly. The red front panel LED is the least likely trace to fail, but it also doesn't have nearby "friendly" test points either. So a wire going from the RED pad on the B board to an alternate test point on the motherboard will be required. Unfortunately some boards don't have an easy to solder test point for the Red LED, so it may be easiest to solder right to the SMC. I am currently writing up install instructions and gathering fresh board images for every board rev. Here are some early "quick and dirty" images for 1.4 and 1.6: I made the FPC connectors quite large to support a huge variety of connectors, though I do include documentation on the bottom of each PCB for the needed resistors and a compatible FPC connector. You can also use top only, bottom only, or top+bottom FPC connectors as long as you use a "reverse direction" flex cable with one set of contacts on the top, and one set of contacts on the bottom if you use top or bottom only FPC connectors. As an added bonus, EqUiNoX repeatedly requested a simple, multifunction D0 board. So alongside Hugin and Munin I designed D0-ET as part of this set. Aside from protecting your D0 point from accidental damage from pulling on a wire the D0-ET (pronounced duet) has 3 possible functions: grounding out the D0 point directly giving a larger pad to solder to, to connect to a modchip with a simple D0 pad like an OpenXenium, ModXo boards, or an X2 / X3 wire harness giving a JST-SH 1.0mm 2-pin connector to connect directly to a modchip like Xenium Ice, Xenium Gold, or various ModXo boards An earlier (less well fitting) revision of this board can be seen installed on the 1.4 motherboard picture above. I am finally learning more about git and specifically github with the release of the Skeleton Key branded USB adapters (based of xbox7887's USB adapter, with support, permission and an overly permissive license). https://github.com/OGXHarcroft/Xbox-Skeleton-Key-USB-Adapter The gerbers for all 5 of these boards are already on the Xbox-Scene discord in the Modfest channel as of roughly 6 months ago and some sellers have already started selling them. Hugin and Munin FP Trace Fix boards are also coming soon to a github near you!

I found this and thought it would potentially make a nice jewel backlight. They are paper thin, 10cm x 10cm EL panels. They are cheap and simple. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000511081220.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.3cc67ef9BTKbRB&algo_pvid=70858ccc-5276-4812-92bf-166bf11b0c47&algo_exp_id=70858ccc-5276-4812-92bf-166bf11b0c47-8&pdp_ext_f={"sku_id"%3A"12000019280130651"}&pdp_npi=2%40dis!CAD!!12.2!!!!!%402101d91e16555800182977430ed7b3!12000019280130651!sea There is a little inverter for the panel, but its small enough to fit behind the harddrive. Its powered by the extra molex connector on the startech ide to sata board. They come in 3.3v, 5v, and 12v. I got a few 5v panels, and a few 12v panels, since thats the available power from the molex. I thought maybe 12v would be brighter, but no, its the same. The panels are all the same. Its only the inverter that is different. Some 12v panels I ordered came with a slightly larger inverter that will not fit in behind the harddrive. So, if you order one of these, make sure its the small inverter that is included.

Hi there, bought an X3 CE Console last year and have been looking for a X3CP to go along with it including the screen, it’s only the front panel I need, if anyone’s got one for sale I’d be interested in buying if it’s reasonably priced, thanks!

Hey guys. I’m hoping to find the gerber for the OG, front mounting bios switches. I have found the chunkier files here on GitHub, but I’m hoping to avoid that and go with the original, thinner version. The goal is to have one made in WHITE for a project I have planned.

I'm not sure what it's actually called (jewel?) but the LEDs that light up the ring around the eject button on my Xbox v1.0 doesn't work. I took the Xbox apart and tested the LEDs with my multimeter set on diode mode and the LEDs do light up (for those that might not know diode mode on a digital multi meter will usually provide enough power to light a LED). I then did a continuity test between the 3 legs on each of the LEDs to the connector pins on the back of the board and found not problems. I then powered up the board to test for voltage going to either of the LEDs and there is none., My guess is that corrosion damage from a bad clock capacitor (now removed) has caused an issue with the power traces going to the LEDs.. Is there a guide anywhere on fixing the trace(s) that provide power to the LEDs? or would it be easier to pick up power from somewhere else like from the leg of a voltage regulator or somewhere else? thanks

Dear all I want to change power led color of og Xbox but can't remove front panel to gain access to power pcb, what is the easiest way to open it? Thanks

I really don't want to do it, but I'm considering selling this immaculate console that I restored with a NOS LCD screen and 3d printed resin buttons. I loaded it with my image which has all games and roms on it. Also some good music. Would anybody be interested? Don't know what to sell it for...

I'm trying to fix the mobo on my other Halo console instead of replacing the board. The power button does not work or green lights. Only red lights and eject works. I've removed the clock capacitor and cleaned the whole area on top and underneath with alcohol. But only one trace looks bad, so I can't account for all the failure... Can I run this thing without a clock cap? Lol seems to be booting without it.

Need to replace a bank button as well as the protect button. Found some potential replacements online through other threads here or Reddit but they won't work. Found a replacement bank button I could 3D print, but still out the protect button. Ideally I'd prefer just the switches off a broken unit but will entertain buying another X3CP or Pro Switch. Regards

Boy, I sure am having a woeful evening. I just put my X3 console into a brand new spotless case, with a brand new never used X3 panel, and boy, does it look beautiful. Just like the box I built in 2004! I was very nostalgic and happy. All the lights were strong and bright and the screen is immaculate. Well, that was too good to last. After 4 hours, the switch panel lighting started turning off and on and making me nervous. Now it's just practically off, and only a couple leds are very, VERY dimly lit. Is this something that happens with the panels sometimes? Do I need to open this thing all the way back up and reseat the LED panel jack in the chip? I have a feeling that it's NOT going to be the problem, of course it's worth a shot. God, I hope this brand new X3CP isn't DOA... I'll check the cable tomorrow, but any advice is VERY welcome. This console has a lot of sentimental value to me, based on what it represents. Thanks, guys!

I didnt find a price check thread and wasnt sure where to post this. But wanted to ask how much would this go for? V1.0 Xbox with X3CE + X3CP front panel + 200GB HDD

Is as the title says. I'm going to be removing the metal shielding on the top panel to replace my jewel tomorrow and couldn't help but wonder if there's any point to putting it back on. Does it provide any real benefit? Maybe removing it could also help airflow / temps? Let me know what you think.

Any condition considered, I don't need the X3 chip just the front panel. Doesn't matter if it has missing buttons or a damaged LCD. PM me with offers, thanks

Hi all, I’ve just noticed that the blue leds are not lighting up on my X3 control panel bios bank switch buttons. They should light up blue when pressed in (on). Anyone come across this before? Know how I can fix it?? Ill take it apart and see if theres a lose cable cable or similar but that won’t be for a few days....

Made an Arcade control panel using an original Xbox Type-S controller PCB Followed the wiring schematics from http://slagcoin.com/joystick/pcb_wiring.html#PCB_DIAGRAMS And came up with this design... The 2 momentary black push buttons are left click (LC) and right click (RC) & the red one serves as an ON/OFF button. At first I thought I would have both left & right analog stick control , but that was not very feasible, at least for me( input welcomed if someone has wired up an analog control for an og xbox controller?) ... So instead I went with the d-pad for movement control. If there is enough interest I wouldn't mind making a build video for another one. Hope you guys like it! Thoughts & input welcomed

Hi Im thinking about possibly selling my crystal original xbox with Xecuter 3 control panel but was wondering what it would all be worth before hand? It comes with: Xecuter Crystal Control Panel Case with original Team Xecuter LCD screen. N64's 1.4ghz cpu and 128mb ram upgrade Version 1.0 motherboard Xecuter X3 Purple Modchip 200GB IDE hard drive Xecuter X3IR kit fitted so you can turn the xbox on from the dvd remote Blue led's installed into controller ports Good condition and fully working. So just to recap this is not for sale I'm just asking what it would all be worth? If this is posted in the wrong forum please feel free to move. The photo below only shows the xbox has 64mb ram but this was taken before I upgraded it to the new cpu and 128mb. https://ibb.co/2K6zTV1
