1. I'm looking for a video released by Team Xecuter sometime in the early 2000s made to promote the durability of their solderless adapter, the Xapt3r. The video shows a couple guys throwing an Xbox with an Xapt3r installed down a flight of stairs, followed by them immediately powering the console on to see that it still functions perfectly. I'm trying to track this video down for archival purposes, and I remember seeing it relatively recently although I was not able to find it again. Many thanks.
2. I've been wanting to flash over a debug BIOS to my Xenium box, and have the option to boot into the XDK launcher dashboard. I haven't been able to find a clear guide on how to go about this, particularly what debug BIOS would be compatible with a 1.6 console, if there is a compatible BIOS at all. I'd appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction of getting this set up.
3. I've been experimenting with skinning my UnleashX and wanted to change the small green Xbox icon that appears next to menu entries without a predefined icon. I found this file under E:\UDATA\9e115330\0064122817A8\xbox4.xbx. I wasn't able to extract the file with XBX tools, so I grabbed the same icon off of the internet, did my work in Gimp and converted it back to DDS then to a 128x128 xbx file. UnleashX opened and displayed it properly in the file explorer and I was able to overwrite the default xbox4.xbx. My issue however, is that when I reload the dashboard, UnleashX overwrites my modified file with the default green Xbox icon, negating my changes. I'm able to set the icon of each menu entry manually, with menu edit, but this has the consequence of displaying the icon over the blue animated Xbox logo, which I do not want. My question is, where do I go from here? Am I able to set the directory where the icon lives to be read-only somehow? If not, how can I go about permanently modifying this file? Thanks in advance.
4. I'm looking for a replacement plastic button assembly pre-painted black. I don't care if it's professionally painted or spray painted, as long as it looks nice. I did a horrible job on mine today, and then it slipped my mind that acetone destroys plastic. So I no longer have a button at all. TIA
5. It ended up being a bug with XBPartitioner that was fixed by simply adjusting the partition down by 2gb, formatting it, and then back to the original and reformatting it. It did indeed end up being 32kb, where as before it would say ER regardless of what size I set it to.
6. Something I've noticed when copying games over is that some files with particularly long file names, such as fem_shirts_quicksilver_hoodie_logo2_d.img.xbx from Tony Hawk's Project 8, fail to transfer over. Ultimately I've never found that a game stops working when something like this happens. My question is, if these file names are too long for the Xbox filesystem, how were the textures ever loaded from the disc when playing from a DVD drive? It's something I've wondered for a while now.
7. I learned the hard way today that XBPartitioner used 32kb clusters instead of 64 for my 500GB SSD, when I suddenly couldn't write files anymore after transferring over 250GB. After reformatting with XBPartitioner, my F drive changed from ER to 32. Still not 64, but whatever. However, after setting up a new disk with Hexen, the partition goes back to ER. I can press the A button on that partition 600 times and it will never change to 64kb clusters, and when I format it again using 32kb clusters, it doesn't change from ER. All of my partitions are left default how Hexen configured them except for my F drive which is 458GB after pressing B. How can I get my drive working correctly?
8. I'm running a 1.6 Xbox, M8+ and UnleashX. I have a 500GB SSD and have transferred over about 250gb of games so far, and only have four left. Whenever I try to transfer over any game directory, I get this result from FileZilla. It repeats this process for every file in the folder until I cancel the transfer. This happens when I try to write to F:\games, but Interestingly enough, I'm able to transfer games over to my 5gb E:\ partition just fine. I've tried Windows' built-in FTP browser, but had no luck there either. Any knowledge on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. 9. Is as the title says. I'm going to be removing the metal shielding on the top panel to replace my jewel tomorrow and couldn't help but wonder if there's any point to putting it back on. Does it provide any real benefit? Maybe removing it could also help airflow / temps? Let me know what you think.
10. I've been writing and tweaking my UnleashX config for about a day or so and I think I have every feature that I personally want from my dashboard. The only issue is with the DVD copy function. It works as expected, except that when it is selected without a disc in the drive, it completes instantly and still says that ripping the disc was successful. I'd like to throw an error MessageBox if this is the case just to make it a bit more presentable. Do any XML wizards know if there's a way to check if there's a disc in the drive? Any help is greatly appreciated. <List Text="Copy Disc to HDD" Sort="Off" Batch="True">
Proceed with copying the disc to the HDD?\nThe directory will be written to F:\games\[Title]

Error: failed to copy disc. The disc may be dirty or damaged

Disc successfully copied to HDD!\nPlease remove the disc before continuing.

</List> config.xml
11. Title is pretty self-explanatory. I have a 1.6 chipped with an OpenXenium and some games are absolutely unplayable thanks to the 480p scrambling issue. The general consensus seems to be to use XBMC4Gamers to patch the files, but I'm an UnleashX puritan and would like to avoid having to use a whole other separate dash to play only a handful of troublesome games. If anyone knows of a method of accomplishing this without XBMC I'd greatly appreciate it.
12. Can you provide a link to ATAPWD please? I've downloaded several versions of Hiren's boot disk and none of them have that tool
13. I just got a 1.6 motherboard with the LPC rebuilt in the mail today, and slotted in an OpenXenium. It included the stock hard drive which unfortunately was destroyed in the shipping process. The drive I planned to upgrade it to, a 500gb SSD, had previously been in a softmodded Xbox which I completely bricked attempting to do an LPC rebuild myself, and was locked with an HDD key of all 1S thanks to Rocky5's Softmod. After installing the new drive, when I try to unlock the drive from XeniumOS it fails. When I try to format any of the partitions that too fails. When I try to boot a Hexen disc, it hangs on the Linux Xbox logo splashscreen for an infinite amount of time, with OGXboxInstaller producing the same results. I even flashed a different BIOS trying to get Hexen to boot. So I installed the SSD into my PC to erase the drive and start over, no big deal. Wrong. My PC will not move past the BIOS splashscreen when this drive is plugged in. I can't even use F12 to boot a GParted USB to wipe the drive. When hotswapping the drive in after Windows has booted up, any attempts to erase it with diskpart or partition manager give me I/O errors, and GPParted too will not detect the drive after a hotswap. I can't interact with it in any way from any operating system. As it stands, I have a modded Xbox and no way to use it. I'm not really sure where to go from here, so any help is more than appreciated.
14. My OpenXenium came in the mail today and I'm looking forward to installing it in my 1.6. I currently have Rocky5's Softmod running, with a 500gb SSD installed. My concerns are that I can't get a clear answer on if I need to remove my softmod before or after the installation, how I go about that, or if I even need to remove it at all. I'm a bit of a chip noob so I don't have much of an idea as to what I'm doing past the soldering. I have about 250gb of games on my F drive which I would like to not transfer over again. Any help is greatly appreciated.
