i've been asking about why my xbox has started emitting an intermittent high pitched whining sound. well, i was just doing some more troubleshooting with the top shell off. i was feeling of the dvd and hdd and i noticed it felt like i was getting a mild shock. so i got my volt meter and stuck one probe in the ground prong of an outlet and another one on different metal parts of the xbox. i was reading 60+ ac volts(i'm in the usa so we have 120 volts, one hot leg and 2 ground legs, at our wall outlets). i figured i had a bad psu so i changed it. here comes the weird part. i did the same test with a volt meter and was still reading 60+ volts with the known good psu in it. i tested the other xbox that the psu came out of before removing the psu and it was showing 10 volts. so how would 60+ volts get through to the metal parts of the xbox if the psu is not at fault? update: now the known good xbox and psu are showing 56 volts. are they suppose to do this or did i damage the psu?

Hey, I'm having an issue where I cannot load Ninja massive directly. I have the program files in my G drive and in any tutorial I've watched, when you go into emulators and click on ninja it loads right up, but Ive tried from XMBC, and unleash dashboards, and no go. only way for me to load is to go to file explorer and launch directly from the default.xbe. I tried to "point" to the file within XMBC, but cannot locate that particular file from there, only in file explorer. any suggestions?

well, i modded my 2nd xbox tonight and i'm having a weird problem. on the home screen, the cpu temp is slowly rising. the temp limit was set at 50 c and it would get up to about 51c and the fan would kick up to about 3.0x. so i raised the temp limit to 55c. the xbox is slowly climbing to that temp. it's sitting at 54c right now. what is causing this and how do i fix it? my 1st modded xbox is a version 1.4 and it idles in the 40's at 1.0x fan speed. btw, i changed the 3 caps in front of the heat sink on both systems.i also changed the cpu thermal paste on both systems(i didn't change the gpu thermal paste).

i'm not well versed on how to interpret the readings on capacitors but my understanding is that the uf should go down as the cap is wearing out. i pulled a couple of 3300uf caps off of a board and they are both reading over 8000uf in my esr meter. i tried some new caps to be certain that the meter is reading correctly and it is. why would the uf go up on an old cap?

I bought a cheap sata to ide adaptor to do a 2tb install, after completion I was getting crazy long wait times for the xbox to even load it was such a disappointment . Buy cheap buy twice! I have a startech one now and it works fine completely night and day. This forum has helped me loads already thank you.

Upon bootup my xbox goes as far as to displaying the XBOX screen and then freezes there, if I try to eject the tray the screen goes blank and flashes for a moment before bringing back up the XBOX screen. I've received no error and have yet to put in a recovery disc

Hi All! First time poster here. I pulled my old soft modded Xbox original out of storage a few weeks back because of the quarantine. Has been a lot of fun sharing all the old games and emulators with my son! Tonight he accidentally clicked on Xbox Live on one of the games and went thru the menu options. I caught it before he got too far i thought. No such luck! Now when i boot the Xbox and try to do the CD start (select song copy copy create new soundtrack) I get an error that too many soundtracks are created. I have tried the <<EggsBox>> trick and it does not work. It just relaunches the Xbox and keeps coming back with the same error. I have spent the past 3 hours reading every forum I could find on here and other sites and I can not find a solution. I created this thing at least 15 years ago and have not modded an Xbox sense. When i created it I remember using a method that included FTPing into my Xbox and transferring all of the files. No modchip.I do not remember the actual name of the mod i used back then. I have read a lot about re-soft modding the Xbox. I am wondering the following: 1. Is there any way for me to figure out what the original soft mod was without being able to get into the launch screen? 2. If i re-soft mod the Xbox will I lose all of the files/games I have on the Xbox? Any help would be much appreciated! I'm really trying to fix this thing because my son now thinks he is the reason this thing is broken and believes we'll never be able to get it back. I would love to prove to him that his dad still has it and can figure this out! Thank you all in advance!

Hi guys, I've just joined. Great forum I have an original xbox softmodded with unleashx I have found an issue when setting the clock to year 2020, after a reboot the clock goes back to 2006. Setting the clock to year 2019 works correctly Im guessing the problem is some form of bug with the 2 digit year value in the RTC Do you guys know if anyone has worked on a patch for this ? Thanks

So today I got my composite with toslink cable and hooked it up to the TV . My dashboard works fine but when I insert a xbox game the screen is jumbled badly. Is there something I can do here ? Im assuming the cable is fine . It shows up as HD A V pack . I only had the standard A V pack before and am looking forward to seeing an improvement. Hardmod 1.6 Thanks Ryan

Hey everyone, I got a lot of xbox's recently and I fixed them all and softmodded all of them except one. The last one when using rocky5s method boots the game, let's me choose the save to start the softmod but then goes to the xbox dashboard and says it cant recognize the disc. At first I thought maybe the DVD drive was bad so I swapped it with another, ended up trying 4 others, all did the same thing. Any advice I'd really like to get this softmodded

The xbox game is Arctic Thunder, here is a picture of the output. Do you think is a TV setting? UnleashX is set to 480p= yes 720p=yes widescreen. I'm guessing the TV might not be switching to normal and stuck on widescreen. Thanks, Joe

Guys, I need some feedback from some veterans out there. I have my first original Xbox, and I modded it, etc. But I also have a few original games that came with my Xbox etc. one of them is the first Splinter Cell. The problem is simple, for doing anything in the game I have to press "SUPER" hard on the buttons! (for the action to be performed) Now I know what you'll tell me, buy a new Xbox controller. I just got an original mint condition controller from Japan. All other games I've played don't have this problem, on the opposite I hardly touch the button and the action is performed! (in every other game) The controller is in mint condition and it's original Xbox brand! Is this how the game was coded? I have the platinum hits version of Splinter Cell by the way. Hello guys, I am from south america, I live near the end of the world! And it is my first time with an XBOX (sounds a bit gay). Thing is, I am suffering with my new original Xbox. It came with two controllers, but, both are completely dead, I opened them, and they are unfixable. No screws on the console, I bought them all, hard drive was not working, I bought a new IDE cable, now is working. The DVD drive was not opening, I fixed it with a needle. AND the only problem I have left with no solution is the power supply, it is 110v, 1.6b, made in 2005. I need a 220v! It has been quite a headache, I got myself a power down convertor, it works, but it sounds like a nuclear plant! "Not good" (Trump voice) So dear guys if you have any deals, or any seller of 220v PSU for the Xbox, be sure to let me know! My most thankful cheers to you all! Hello, i recently downloaded a pack with a list of hdd ready games for xbox. So far they have all worked, but for some reason when i try to play Conker, it sends me a text box in spanish that reads '' The disc might be corrupted or damaged'' and i can't get it to boot. Any suggestions? I already deleted save data and cache to no avail.

Hello people. I have a weird problem here. In the last few days i noticed that Forza randomly freezes(3-10 minutes of gameplay),but if i play it with the default xbe not patched with flicker fucker,the game runs fine.This problem happens to all 4 of my xboxes. I remember that in the past i used to play it fine and i think that it was also flicker fucker patched. Any idea of what the problem would be? Thank you

Hello, ive just done HDD upgrade using this tutorial and xbox only see 120gb out of 500gb from my new hdd, what is wrong? funny enough HeXEn shows me the proper status of 450gb+ free space on F drive, the same with Xpartitioner (but only when im using this app from HeXEn disc). When im entering Xpartitioner on dashboard then i got Warning ... "!!!! WARNING !!!!! LB448 info not found! Custom Partitions will not work with this BIOS! Hello everyone. I have a question. Can i use only F partition on a 67 Bios? I am asking this because i am using ind-5004 bios and it was fine as far as i had F and G. Recently i decided to make just 1 F partition. I loaded xbpartitioner 1.1 and create a single 290 GB partition for F(it was 120 F and 170 G before) and after that i started loading stuff in it. The problem is that after the free space went to 32-35 GB(dont remember excactly)no new files would be writen on the F partition. The other partitions would get files normally. If i delete something on the F,then it would accept files again until it reaches the free space limit.... Am i doing anything wrong or is the bios supposed to work only with G too?

Hi, I've got an xecuter X3IR installed and its all working but I have got a problem I cant seem to figure out? When X3IR is enabled the light around the power button changes colour, one side is red and one side is green? How do I get it to go back to just be green? Ive connect it up to X3 IR manager but there isn't a setting for changing the power button LED colour or am I missing something? Or is this just a feature to tell you X3IR is enabled? If I unplug the X3IR the light goes back to green both sides so it defiantly something to do with the X3IR. Any help would be much appriciated Cheers

Dear All, On my 1.4 still soft modded Xbox, I have some issues with screen stretching, I'm using component cables to connect to my tv and enable HD output, and on UnleashedX I have adjusted the screen to fit the edges of my TV, but when I run Homebrew Games the adjustment I have done to UnleashedX Dashboard doesn't apply, all games are zoomed in, making some of the screen not displaying, tried changing settings on my TV changing perspective from 16:9 to 4:3, doesn't work, still zoomed in, is there a normal issue? How can I fix this? Thanks
