While it would be possible to replace the SuperCap(Clock Cap) with a rechargeable battery the charge rates are different a Capacitor can charge all most instantly where a Battery takes a lot longer to fully charge. This sort of battery is used in place of a SuperCap but the circurty is designed to charge and maintain it and if not done correctly it could fail quicker than a new Super Cap. With the version 1.6 just fit a new Clock cap and then change it while your replacing the other caps every 15 years. The USB can be used for a memory card or a mouse for XBMC and I really just put it there because the bracket I 3D printed holds 2 USB's The OGX360 allows me to use a Xbox one controller in place of port 1 or 2 Xbox 360 controllers inplace of controller 1 and 2, If I plug a Original Xbox control in port 1 or 2 that overrides the wireless ones But why would you want corded controller. The game save exploits are still coming but as I have had some paid work in the last two weeks the Xbox work has slowed down a bit I gotta to pay the bills somehow. Hi Kik5u I have tried it on a version 1.6 and it locks up as it's loading the game but on my version 1.4 128meg Xbox it seems to be ok with the video set to 720p 60hz I did see somewhere that it needs 128 meg ram to run. This is still a work in progress Port 3 has a DVD Dongle and a USB socket that can be used simultaneously with the IR receiver behind the eject button and no holes I still get 10+ meter range Port 4 is for the OGX360 linked to port 1 and 2 Next is a ram upgrade and an HDMI by N64freak then the X2duo chip that's got Xblast and X5032 on it will be removed. You need a program to flash the X Bit chip via USB and from what I have read windows XP is the latest OS you can use and an virtual machine running XP won't work. Hi antonic901 Here it my 50 cents worth. When I do ram upgrades I use a Modchip fitted with Xblast on it as you can then boot a main board without a DVD or Hard drive connected. As you fit each chip boot to the Xblast mod chip and test the ram chip and if it fails go over your work and test again DO NOT fit the next chip until the current chip passes. If you have not used a SMD rework station before you are better off using a soldering iron and DO NOT forget Flux is a better friend than your Wife/Girlfriend/Lover when it comes to soldering 100 pin IC's And if you have not soldered a 100 pin ic before go and find a old PC to practice on 1st Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.

You can clone the drive from a different Xbox and when you install to the modded Xbox. Then run your install disk and remove the softmod from the new hard drive, then your new Xbox with the cloned drive should be fine Plus there is no need to lock the hard drive in the TSOP flashed/Modchip xbox. That's good to hear that your on the home stretch to completing your Xbox rebuild. I unlock any and all my drive;s even the stock drive's that I am removing that way I can be used in any other modded Xbox or even a PC if you wanted. With a hard modded (TSOP flash/ModChip) Xbox the Hard drive can be used Unlocked It's only softmod's than need it locked.. The TSOP(Thin small outline package) is just the IC that holds the BIOS So when people sat they TSOPed it what they really should say is the BIOS has been reflashed as the TSOP is a item not a procedure . A modchip is also just a external TSOP chip that overrides the on board TSOP chip and both hold a BIOS (Basic In Output System) Is there any thing on the hard drive you really need ?
