  2. @Harcroft Question regarding v1.02.. Is it supposed to reset all counts back to zero and start again? Mine was at 19% and about 7000 files indexed, then the next time i looked it was back down to 5% and the bottom three counters were al back to zero? Edit- After quickly scanning through again back up to 21% (I presume this is where it reset previously) It has just reset a second time. However this time it seems to be rearchiving everything it did when I first ran the xbe today as if it hadn't run before?? Thanks to the new feature of listing the files as it goes I can see that it is scanning and archiving the exact same files it did first time around....
  3. Today
  4. Looks great, I'll take a couple when they are available.
  5. No worries. I will grab 1.02 and get scanning EDIT- Much faster, flying through the scan now compared to last time.
  6. Board's startup date is listed at the bottom lol.
  7. Startech costs me like 60-70$ bucks with shipping since it is only available in the western hemisphere. AliExpress is banned for me. So I can't buy quality stuff. I'll have to go with those cheapo adapters and try my luck. Next biggest hurdle is finding a 80wire cable. Which is also only available on western e-commerce and AliExpress.
  8. Hope he doesn't say _SIKE_
  9. Sounds pretty cool. Would you be willing to share?
  10. Yes I had it on several of my Xbox's.
  11. yes they do, I ordered 2 from other countries that look like bootleg startech adapters with the same chipset and they all had the same problem.
  12. I appreciate the offers for more testers, but we do have dedicated and skilled testers. The wait is generally on developer/development time, that being said Crunchbite managed to get v1.02 done and it's available now. The most important fix IMO was the cumulative delay between uploading one batch of files and scanning the next, but several other fixes and upgrades are included. v1.02 - Massive speed increase when processing files - Improve network error handling - Add self updater - Show most recently processed files during processing Available now on Xbins, digiex.net and xbox-scene.info
  13. Apologies for leaving you hanging. Life is crazy right now. I’m glad this worked and you were able to figure it out. Happy gaming!
  14. Gotcha. As for caps you were on spec for those. Just as a helpful note…you always go up a bit in voltage and microfarad but should never go below on either. The biggest constraint from going up in voltage usually comes from space. Higher voltage equals larger capacitor. For your silver cpu caps there are five to replace and those are 1500 microfarad 6.3 volts and they are 10mm diameter by 20mm height (though you can make 23-25mm in height work if need be). I’d have to look but I believe the lead spacing is 5-6mm. I would still give it a close once over to make sure there aren’t any solder splashes/bridges anywhere. Maybe even a good cleaning with a soft bristled brush and some 99 percent ipa. Hopefully you’ll be able to resolve the issues all around. We are all happy to help out as you’re working through it though.
  15. IIRC, it's actually missing entirely. It's just open pads but with R4 on the silkscreen. @Raidernick Do other adapters with the Marvell controller exhibit the same Samsung drive issue?
  16. Is there a guide for doing this mod? I assume it is just a replacement of an existing resistor but where exactly is "R4"?
  17. As long as it's the green adapter above with the master/slave jumpers then you can get UDMA6 to work as long as all the solder joints are good(you might need to reflow stuff). As for the Samsung drive issue, it's the whole issue I posted about a while back where if you combine a Samsung B drive with cerbios 2.3.1 or greater and a hdd over 1tb(I tested 2,3 and 4) that on first console boot the DVD drive will give a busy error in XBMC or just not read the disc at all until you reboot the console once. Rebooting the console, starting xblast(or similar) first THEN the bios or putting the disc in before bios load does not cause the issue. It only happens on first boot directly to bios THEN inserting the disc and you get a busy error or it just won't read. It's a very specific issue that only happens under a specific set of circumstances but is very annoying. Using the china adpater prevents the bug entirely so on those consoles that is what I use instead of startech which I use for every other drive type.
  18. I also keep forgetting about the resistor mod. Maybe I'll buy a pile of AliExpress clones and put it there... If it fixes all these issues, why the HELL wouldn't they populate R4 themselves? Wouldn't it improve their sales? Will it really run with a UDMA-6 bios? I keep seeing that people can only get UDMA-5 and that's only with the DVD drive disconnected. I keep forgetting about the Samsung drives. VERY important point. What about the HDD over 1TB thing? I haven't seen that. And newer Cerbios versions? I'm not familiar with those issues. Maybe I should get one of these, populate R4 and do some conclusive testing for us all.
  19. Gotcha. Well I guess I’ll be ordering new caps for the fella. lol hopefully that fixes my issues.

  21. That green china adapter is fine as long as you put a 0603 100ohm resistor at R4. Doing that will give instant boot times and allow the adapter to run in UDMA6 mode at near UDMA6 speeds(around 90-95% speed). It's not as good as startech, but close enough at a small fraction of the price. Also, the startech chipset does have that incompatibility with newer cerbios versions, samsung b dvd drives and hdd's over 1tb in size(this may be hit or miss for some people).
  22. Just finished designing my SATA adaptor prototype... The idea was to have a similar layout to the generic 3.5" adaptors, while using the Marvell IC found on StarTech adaptors. The majority of the SMD components are on the rear side of the PCB. Full size Molex connector with reversed orientation to better suit HDD caddy/power cable. Switch for master/slave/cable select, instead of just a pin header and jumper. PHD connector to use DVD cable as alternative power source (experimental) PHD connector also eliminates the DVDrom (no dvd-check bios required) Power and HDD activity LEDs... I'll still make some changes, but I'll get a couple prototypes made up as they are. So, I can test fitment and the performance of the device before I continue any further. Any feedback would be much appreciated, Nem
  23. I didn't even know the forum was running in 2017.
  24. Whenever you think caps need to be replaced, ALWAYS do a full recap of the device in question. As long as you're paying shipping, capacitors are cheap, and you don't want a mix of freshly replaced caps and caps that will need to soon be replaced all side by side with each other. Clean slate.
  25. That is VERY cool. I'm glad to hear that you now have two working Xeniums.
  26. I remember hearing word that an playable version of StarCraft Ghost had been salvaged from a dev box. Had an .iso ever been made available to the public? Would love to see what could have been.
  27. FTP, SMB, or you can dock the drive to a PC if it is unlocked.
  28. Do you have a part number of source you can share? Thanks
