You can get the Samsung ram from Alixpress or salvage it from old boards.

Samsung K4D263238[M,D,F]-QC50 128Mbit DDR SDRAM (configured as 1M x 32Bit x 4 Banks) in a 100-pin thin quad flatpack (100 TQFP) package.  (4 pieces required, 2 top and 2 bottom of the motherboard, for the 64MB to 128MB RAM upgrade of v1.0-1.4 Xboxes.  V1.6 motherboards cannot be upgrade since they do not have the solder pad layouts to install the additional chips.)

Another source for them is UTSource.net:

Some modders have stated that you should match the part number of the particular die revision already installed on your console.    Others have said that mixing particular die revisions has worked for them while others don't. I don't recall the details of which work  well together and don't. The die revision is the letter M, D or F in the part number.

Thanks for the info Kaos! Nice and helpful to know

I can see myself getting the mod done to help with emulation purposes more than anything. I really hope it boosts playstation and N64

Is there any known homebrew being worked on that will take advantage of a 128mb?

Thanks for that Kaos! I see that it may be still in development to eventually run on stock 64mb

So now if it did run on stock 64mb, would there be a benefit for the 128mb? Other than having the ability to play it now instead of waiting haha!

A lot of textures are missing from objects when running in only 64MBs

It makes absolutely ZERO difference when playing any original Xbox game. It makes ALL the difference with N64 emulation (can't speak for PS1 as I have never tried but I would imagine it is equally as beneficial). Donkey Kong 64 went from a stuttering freezing unplayable mess to a smooth running great functioning version of the classic. You won't be disappointed if emulation is your thing.

Maybe it's just my mind playing tricks but I have noticed a slight improvement with Xbmc4gamers dash when running 128 meg ram, it seems to be slightly quicker.

      Hey folks

It has been some time since I last posted. Hope you're doing well...
What have you been up to? 😉
I recently preordered the new version of the HDMI+ mod from MakeMhz which will arrive in july and i wanted to upgrade one of my my existing xboxes with it.
Since I'm going to solder anyway and i got some RAM chips laying around, i thought about upgrading the RAM as well. In this regard, i was wondering if there is a BIOS that supports both (HDMI and 128MB RAM). Is the MakeMHz-BIOS taking advantage of 128MB RAM? Does somebody have some experince with this?

Thanks in advance for you thoughts!

      Hi
Im in the process of upgrading my ram. The mod chip im using is an x2.6 with ind-bios. I have the xblastos xbe installed on my HDD.
My thinking was that I could boot to my dashboard then launch the xblastos xbe to check each ram chip. However, upon powering on the xbox, it boots three times and the led's flash red and orange.
My question is do I need the xblast bios flashed to my modchip for the xbox to boot during the upgrade or have I made a mistake during the installation?
Im quite confident about my soldering. Checking under x60 magnification and lots of light

      Hi All,
This is my first foray into modding my original Xbox. I've identified the board as a 1.4 or a 1.5 (can't find out exactly which, but it has the Focus video chip). I can't find any information to help split between the two but it also looks like it's not that important either...
Looks like I caught the clock capacitor just in time with some very minor markings on the top of it so that will be removed - it looks like it doesn't need fitting with a TSOP mod as this fixes the date? (RIP some of the best clock based cheats).
I've got some K40263238D-QC50 RAM chips already in my system and looking to use it to run games off the HDD and emulators etc... From what I can find it looks like it's worthwhile upgrading this... other than this and the clock capacitor, are there any other recommended actions or mods whilst the mainboard is out? Do I need to do the TSOP mod first before the RAM upgrade?

      Cheers
