Bowlsnapper
I tested the chip. It works. It will not boot when D0 is activated in a 1.3 motherboard. Solder points should be good. Chip DOES have power and lights up. @Dtomcat18
SS_Dave
It sounds like a soldering issue with the pin header Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
dtomcat
I’m curious if it’s a board design? I read that Aladdin’s have flaky D0 support. I honestly don’t know either way
dtomcat
And it works if you ground D0?

I've checked my soldering on the pin header 3 times. I don't know how else to solder it...
dtomcat
I’m not sure. you had it working before. Was that a different board?

It's a new board I'm trying to do a Ram install in. The only thing I've done is add solder to the pads because many RAM pads don't have solder. Then I soldered the LPC pin header and wired up D0. I put your xblast on it, and it won't boot. Detach D0, and it' boots to the stock bios. So I know the mobo is good. Just don't know why this one wont boot the LPC bios. I don't know how many more times I can redo the soldering before I can say for sure I know that's not it.

Don't be ashamed of your work, post some pictures. 9 minutes ago, Bowlsnapper said: The only thing I've done is add solder to the pads because many RAM pads don't have solder. Interesting. I remove the solder to have a nice clean pad to solder to which makes it way more easy. Anyway, if you have a different modchip on hand, test your xbox with it. dtomcat
Does the modchip still boot in other Xbox?

I believe he uses hot air? So wants the solder on there to act as solder paste?

My only other chip is in a box that's sealed and together again. I'm tired of opening it. It's an idea though, that's true. I may HAVE to. dtomcat
No. Not trying to be funny. I thought you were using a hot air station to solder your ram chips?

dtomcat
Ah ok. Then I’m confused as well as to why you are adding solder to the pads
sweetdarkdestiny
And you thinks it's easyer to have solder already on the pads which creates a "hill" which makes it harder to align the ram chip? Hmmmm..... So try one your way and then remove the solder from another ram bank and place the chip, add some flux and solder the chip that way. And ofc, tell us which way was easyer.
