  3. Upgraded to SATA drive - using 80 pin and Startech Ide to Sata - have the Startech on cable select - after the clubbed I get error 11 - tried master as well - cable loads older 250 ide cable - I’d say the adapter but I locked the drive using h it in an ok’d ide pc and it worked fine - I’m totally stumped and would really appreciate your expert advice - thanks!
  4. After upgrading my xbox HDD, it not only boots and runs 10 times slower, but the DVD drive now doesn't read any disk I put into the disk drive even official xbox games. It just says unknown. Now I don't mind the system booting up slower, but not reading anything in the disk drive is a major problem. I followed this tutorial exactly (I used the exact parts and followed all steps)
  5. I've softmodded my first xbox and I upgraded the HDD and I've heard about the wonders of Emulators, Homebrew ect ect, now I'm wondering where do I download emulators lets say for the N64 or Sega Genesis? All help is appreciated.
  6. Hi, I have a hard modded OpenXenium chip with a 1 TB WD Blue HDD. I have everything set up and I am trying to get more than 200 GB - with more than > 200 GB left on a partition. Filezilla is not letting me do that. I am just trying to transfer the titles. They are all HDD ready for transfer but they do not go through at a certain point. They all become failed transfers. The bios I am using is unleashed x from the OGXBOX installer. It was not flashed by the program but was transferred by my network. It is a CEE bios. I switch dashboard sometimes. The only one that I have on there that is not preinstalled is Emulation Station. I had used the DVDmulleter to get the bios necessary. The HDD has been partitioned correctly having being split from F to G the remaining left. I am fairly new to this and any advice to help would be beneficial.
  7. Hi there, so today I upgraded my Xbox’s hard drive to a 2TB WD blue and in unleash X, it’s showing just 500gb available to use as storage. But when I set up the hard drive using hexen, XBpartioner let me choose 900gb partitions for F and G. Is there something I’ve done wrong to not allow the hard drives full capacity? My Xbox had a duo x2 chip and I’m on my bank that has evox bios installed. I didn’t install this chip so I’m unsure of what version of Evox this has. any help in much appreciated. Thanks in advance
  8. Ok people so i upgraded my hard drive today. all going well. all sorted. Put the xbox back together and guess what. Stupid dvd drive keep ejecting. I close via the button and opens again. ITS A samsung sdg-605 Please guys help me
  9. I've done tons of these, and I have some boards left over. If anyone wants it would be 90 shipped each board anywhere in the us. I don't have any rep in this forum but I have an ebay account with a bunch of reviews and I've done a few trades over at r/hardwareswap.
  10. Underclocked 1ghz Xbox to 735mhz by patching the bios to 107mhz FSB (using XBoverclock by WulfyStylez). It fixed GTA Vice City and Rallisport 2, which XBEpatcher (by mwaterbu) did not manage to fix. Not sure if works for all games, but seems like it should. This probably could be loaded by Phoenix Bios Loader or can be on a modchip bank, waiting to be selected when needed.
  11. Looking for cpu & ram upgraded mobo
  12. After several attempts at an refurbished WD 1TB SATA HDD, Kingwin ADP-06 adapter and 80 wire IDE cable, I threw those all into closet storage and went for the best instead. A brand new Samsung EVO 500GB SSD, Startech adapter and a Rontech 80 wire IDE cable...and an 80mm Noctua. Results are pretty cool to own:
  13. Hello Friends, I have started a new Xbox ( My wife will kill me). This time I took the time to give you some photos of my madness: Step1: Disassembling It was very dirty, this is a 1.1 version. I immediately removed clock capacitor (Yes a gamegear is also lying on the ground) and change thermal paste. Step2: Hot water and soap cleaning in the kitchen on plastic parts Step3: The same for the shields Step4: Shield painting to prevent corrosion (EMI points will be paint removed after painting). This is the grey primer, after I put what I use black or white paints. Step5: And why don't adding more ram, this board is very nice. With help of my xblast lite, one chip after another. Note, that the chip N°4 gave me some problem, after test, the xbox start then stop, I check and redid the solder 3 times, after first, no boot problem on Xblast, but the chip was not anymore detected. So I decided to gently remove it, and to replace it with a new one. And it worked, I could go on with the last one. For people upgrading their Xbox, don't forget that a chip can fail even if it is new like for me if you realize bad solder and make a short circuit. As you can see, it remains some flux. It is a bit hard to remove all as I worked for a long time on chip N°4. (Near PSU connector) Step6: I have to confirm that everything is ok and check memory inside operating system. You can see after the last chip that XblastOS show 128 Mib. Inside tool menu (in settings), you can test your memory. This is what you have to do after each chip added. My prefered order is chip 2, the chip 3 ( both bottom side), then the 4th because some caps take lot of place to solder and finish by number 1. and finally check under operating system, to confirm that no blocks are failled. Some blocks can't be tested as they are used by operating system. Step7: DVD cleaning, Pot settings, new belt installation and Ide to Sata improvements. As you can see, I replace always jumper by solder ( master / slave) I had a case where the jumper falled during shippment. I also replace the 2 bad quality chineese capacitors bye Panasonic ones. The whole DVD case was cleaned with isopropyl alcohol, and also lens, motor. New greased has been applied to axles and caddy. DVD pot was 2400 Ohm. It is very often a too high value like this one. Samsung drives like value between 1900 and 2000 ohm. Look the copy speed result after that: more than 6 Mb/s Who wants it ? I don't spoke about the Sata HDD. I will use ever a 500 Gb, or a 3tb ( I know xbox can only handle 2 Tb ) If someone wants it and leaves in europe. I will put this box on stress test during a week and it will be ready for sale. It can also be delivered with original HDD ( Seagate IDE and for the future IDE2SATA adapter provided) If you are interrested in, send a PM. Bye Benur75
  14. Hello, I've just upgraded my hard drive. Added a 80-wire 40 pin and with a pata to sata adapter. It cloned just fine. I selected selective partition (C,e,f and g) as it stated G would take the rest of the space. It's a 500Gb hard drive. But.. It says partition G is 0Gb available.. And F is at 120Gb. But XBpartitioner 1.3 sees G at around 300Gb. So why isn't it available for me to use? But really F can take it all correct? So no need for G..? Okay, I disabled partition G and filled partition F with all it can have(it said 400Gb ish) and I wrote that to the disk with XBpartitioner 1.3. And now it says it only has 246Gb... Where did the rest go... I'm lost UPDATE: okay... UnleashX shows me under storage menu that is "sees" 469Gb ish.. But only available 246Gb... But the partition is empty??? Anyone got a clue?
  15. Hello guys I have upgraded my ram in the xbox and that works flawlessly first i installed the xblast boot os and tested every chip and success. then i installed ind 5003.67 and it works also correct but he did not see the G drive so i format it but still not seeing that partition. I thought maybe i must install the BFM bios but now i think it was for an xbox 1.6 because he wont boot. the xbox turn on then go of twice and then stay on but no screen. Can i reflash the chip? with a pickkit or something other way. Can i fix this? or do i need a new aladdin xt2 chip. and will they boot on an 128mb board with stock bios. I dont know if the xbox run with a not compatible 128gb ram bios or that it will boot but takes only 64mb. thanks for youre time.
  16. I upgraded the HDD in my Xbox to a 320GB SATA using a SATA/IDE adapter and upgraded the cable to a 80 conductor. The Xbox is a v1.0 with a AladinXT modchip. BIOS is iND-BiOS 504.67 (F and G) installed from a Hexen 2019 DVD. I prepared the hard drive using Hexen 2019 and everything works ok except I cant adjust the partition sizes in xbpartitioner. If I understand it right the Extended partitions 6 and 7 in xbpartitioner is for partition F and G. How do I take the space from 7 (G) and give it all to 6 (F)? I tried pressing the A button (and every other button for that matter) and nothing happens. Do I need to change the BIOS to an F only version? if so the only iND-BiOS 504 in Hexen 2019 says force 480p..will that be a problem? thanks
  17. I successfully created and locked a 500GB IDE Seagate Hard drive using HDM V1.9. I transferred it to my xbox and it gets stuck at the xbox splash screen at start up for ages and then goes to Error 13 - any ideas? (It can take 2-3 minutes for the word "Microsoft" to appear under the xbox splash). Thanks
  18. So I got a STartech Sata to IDE adapter and successfully made and locked a new SATA 500 GG hard drive using HDM v1.9. i got an 80 pin cable and connected my SATA drive and sure enough it booted to the Xbox dashboard. I had my Rocky 5 softmod files and Splinter Cell diskready to go but I can’t load Splinter Cell - I get a message reading - “Your Xbox cannot recognize this disc. Make sure it’s an Xbox game, DVD movie, or audio CD. Also check to see if the disc is dirty or damaged.” I have tried a different dvd drive from another Xbox that I know loads the game and I get the same message. In fact I get the same message if I try to load any other Xbox game disk. Any ideas greatly appreciated
  19. So I used HDM v1.9 and created a new xbox hard drive (40GB) that works. However, I don't see the extra space when I turn it on - it isn't softmodded yet. I'm just wondering if I should put the hard drive back in the PC and create a F Folder using HDM. Will the F folder naturally partition the rest of the available space on the drive or will the ROCKY 5 softmod make all the extra available space in the E drive? Any advice greatly appreciated.
  20. Hi - I recently updated my hard drive using HDM v 1.9 and it is now ready to mod - I have two options 1. Since I have all the files from back in the day to use Splinter Cell the SID I could mod it easily then I can use put Rocky 5 over it using the Rocky 5 disk. OR 2. Go to the trouble of setting up Rocky 5 Memory card mod -using a flash drive and Splinter Cell - have all the leads from back in the day and recently downloaded all the files and software needed. My question is does it matter if I choose the lazy option (number 1 above) or since I'm starting afresh with a new drive should I take the Option 2 route? Thanks in advance
  21. Hiya, just TSOPed my 1.2v Oxbox and put in a 160gb hdd. I split the F & G partitions 74ish gb each. The F partition show 74ish gb but G partion is 0gb. Used HeXEn 18 and the evox M8+ bios F+G, Both F & G values showed in XBpartitioner 1.3.
