About Me

  1. I've been having this issue for a while, and I am not sure where to write about it. I mentioned it in a post a few years ago, but now have more information but it makes the whole thing even more baffling. I am using an Original v1.4 Xbox (Halo Green Edition) There are a handful of games that my Xbox just refuses to play, period. Originally, the only games I knew didn't work properly were Stubbs the Zombie, Psy-Ops and Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. They both would freeze at specific spots during the game, Stubbs during the "Don't do drugs" and Psy-Ops the final battle. Stubbs example - https://youtu.be/hO2w5w1KKFs With Stubbs, I tried it on my Xbox 360 and it worked perfectly without issue. So, I thought it was just a bad eye, or DVD-Drive. Drive picture - https://i.imgur.com/sMV3iMj.png I recently modded my system so that I could play Back-ups and preserve my discs, and low and behold...... the same issue is still happening.. even when played off HD, and there are more games! For example, with Stubbs.. I tried from disc, dvd2drive to play it off the HD, I went and got another disc from a local retro GameStore, and even found a back-up online to try out... and all freeze up exactly at that spot. Now I am finding other games with the same issue. Hulk: Total Destruction friezes when you start the game. Gauntlet Seven Sorrows freezes up after a few minutes of starting the game proper, it seems to be related to certain music tracks, but don't quote me. Once again, I've tried playing it on Disc, off HD, and even going out of my way to try a back-up I found on the net (both burned to DVD, and from HD) and it's the same results. Yet it works fine in my Xbox 360...... Seven Sorrows HardDrive - https://youtu.be/sE_dQsfw-lc Seven Sorrows DVD - https://youtu.be/xj8nMN3cLFY Seven Sorrows 360 - https://youtu.be/RdiYtq0Atyc (Runs with no issue) I did remove a bad clock/time capacitor as recommended. I am using the StarTech IDE2SATA with a 2TB Crucial SSD. Hardmodded my system with an open xenium chip. Here are some internal shots https://i.imgur.com/aAJkDMl.png https://i.imgur.com/qtmAh2x.png https://i.imgur.com/JzQEk8R.png https://i.imgur.com/llRixDK.png https://i.imgur.com/3IWYJ2N.png https://i.imgur.com/2ohDFWG.png https://i.imgur.com/MO0rsR9.png https://i.imgur.com/cf0opZT.png https://i.imgur.com/1VZ4Mez.png The High Voltage Capacitor on the PSU seems to reflect silver when I use the flash, so here's a better look at it. https://i.imgur.com/cdnAVqD.png https://i.imgur.com/Bm4ybuf.png So I want to know what is going on? Other games work just fine, I played through Robocop (2003) on my Xbox just last week with no issue and a few other games. Why do these handful of games crash, is it a bad chip? capacitor? Has anyone found an issue like this? Thank you all in advance!
  2. Hi does the spi2par2019 for the xenium work with the newheaven oled? or should I stick with a normal lcd? OLED-Modul Gruß
  3. As title suggests... a new announcement was made today that the new xboxHD+ boards will no longer require project stellar to work. https://makemhz.com/products/xboxhd-legacy
  4. Hi all I have a customer that want's the original M$ dash as a app and I can easily set that with a short cut but I am having issues making the artwork to display in xbmc4gamers ( I had a look at the stuff from Rocky5's GitHub on making the images needed and that went over my head). I have looked at the artwork installer but there is nothing there so I am hoping some one here has made the appropriate files I can copy to the folder for the M$ dash. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  5. When downloading any packages to your computer there is still a default .xbe in them. and all Xbox apps/games have a default.xbe they have to or you cannot ever launch anything Instead of a .exe which the computer reads for launching programs and apps, the xbox has a .XBE XBOX Executable. The XB stands for XBOX and the E stands for executable. Anyway I downloaded the Gamers - Emustation Artwork Stuff from the following link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1a3ZaFTuuu5L7lDbnOjmA5tlHhrwpWFKC?usp=sharing Which is the link found in this topic: I am now going to copy and paste an exact quote from the Topic Creator: Yet there isn't a single default.xbe anywhere in that package which means there is no possible way to run the installer at all. Furthermore the xbox reads the following extensions for images png - jpg - tbn - bmp (The proper dashboard still has to be used as some dashboards cannot read certain image files.) Anyway after looking through the package, there isn't any proper file extensions for the xbox to read either. Someone needs to create the proper picture formats so the dashboards can read it and say what dashboard those pictures go with, place those pics in the properly named folder, .rar that folder, and uploaded it. All someone needs to do then is download it, unpack the .rar file, and copy the folder that has all the pictures in it, onto the proper section of the xbox. Right now there isn't even a way to run any of this off a disk or the HDD. it's a complete shit show with no clear simple easy instructions. I shouldn't have to still connect the xbox to the net to download what I already have just to get it to run. This whole thing is a major and complex mess.
  6. Following the footsteps of these gentlemen & crew: Trusty N64 Freak FriendTech I intend to upgrade the CPU in my Xbox, for Linux performance. At some point (after I have an SMD rework station) I intend to upgrade the RAM also. At this stage I'm just researching the feasibility, and seeing what I'm jumping into. I believe I can use a CPU socket (495) from a mobile Pentium 3 to use a P3 1 GHz "SL53s" with minor accommodations made. I will need to comb over the datasheets as I don't currently know If I can just "drop in" a faster 495 mobile celeron/P3, say after I've installed a CPU socket from an old laptop. Processors I've seen photos of installed in adapters include: SL5XL The Tualatin 1.4 GHz 512KB L2 Cache and 133MHz FSB SL53S Seen in N64 Freak's 1GHz mod, apparently using a cpu w/ 100MHz FSB is not out of the question. SL657 Seen in an adapter board somewhere. I wouldn't try an SL6BY because the core voltage is lower than 1.5V and the original CPU used up to 1.7V Some concerns I have: VID Voltage Range, VID[4:0] SSE Technology, SpeedStep Technology. GTL+ (do any of the cpus use the older GTL, if not then it is not a concern at the moment) Bus Speed: Can I use a chip with 100 MHz FSB? Nobody wants to downgrade.. L2 Cache: Does this matter? Can I simply use a chip with more, believe I can because Trusty & N64 freak have already done this without issue. To slow the CPU speed, they are apparently using STPCLK# assertion. This is accomplished on the adapter PCB with the necessary support components added. My first attempts will not include provisions to slow the performance, as playing games on the console will not be an immediate priority. I'll have to check the usual places and see if I can locate a CPU area schematic for the Xbox, I believe it is in the wild, if anyone has details, please PM me! The socket 370 to 495 adaptor shouldn't be too difficult to create seeing as how I have some datasheets to work from. First attempt I will use a standard 495 PGA mobile cpu (currently looking for one w/133 FSB) in a recovered 495 socket, then comes the task of designing an adapter board to go from 495 to 370. If N64 Freak would like to comment his words will be greatly appreciated, I'm not here to steal anyones thunder; just looking for a performance gain. I have datasheets from that era attached below, I'll have to see if the SL5sn (xbox) CPU is mentioned. 7. It's just not flashing and refusing to do so. It's acting like the point isn't jumpered. I soldered the jumper using a wire to bridge it. No idea why this isn't working.
  8. I create ROM Hack for original xbox game but it require to patch 29 file! Xdelta and others they only patch 1 file *Note my game is HDD rip (files) not iso
  9. I softmodded and then tsopped my original xbox. Before doing this I made a custom component cable which worked great with all my games and the stock dashboard. In one of the menu's during the softmod process the screen went crazy (kind of looks like a sink issue, the screen is squashed and scrolling across rapidly, impossible to tell what is on screen). I plugged in the composite cable and finished up the process and then TSOP'ed it. Now when I boot with the component cable the bios flubber animation works perfectly but the screen goes nuts when I get to unleasheX despite changing the video settings to NTSC-M, no to 480p-720p-1080i- enable pal, no to faster refresh rate. what could be causing this? EDIT: SOLUTION FOUND because the xbox restarts when video cable is reconnected I had to write down the button presses required to get to ms dashboard while using composite, then swith to component, follow the button presses, stock dashboard worked, go into settings and disable all high resolutions, and then restart. everythings fine now and I hope this helps others with the same issue
  10. Hi i have wire and motherboard mount for pc the only part missing in board that send power using atx power supply i need some to build me one and yes i will pay you also $300 to $500 usd.
  11. Hi Guys I am new here and have soft modded my og xbox and installed XBMC4Gamers dash, however some games are just not being recognized by the dash. I have tried so many different solutions, such as copying from different flash drives, hdd.....etc, nothing helped. When ripping the games from a disc, they work fine, and most work ok after copy, but some just show these weird names as you can see in the screenshot. Xbox is running a 1TB hdd, for those games that wont work, artwork installer just marks them as being corrupt. Has anyone else had this issue, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  12. Hello all the Problem is only some DVD rips play on XBMC? The movies either refuse to play, or get past the WB sponsor logo and I get a failed video playback pop up and crash to dash. When I use DVD2Xbox to rip the movie it makes 2 track ISO files. part 00.iso part 01.iso it splits the ISO’s but the division in gig is not related to failing to play.’ (board specks) I have a 1TB HD that I’m pretty happy with the content on it. I’m left with about 400gb. it’s a rescue NTSC-board, 128mb ram, Mod-Chip with IND, Version 1.2 & I used NTSC-Pal and setup Play NTSC videos at Pal rates. (background) I do like putting a physical DVD in the tray, but I have 100’s (LIKE 100’s) of DVD’s in an ottoman/cupboard! is this problem a copy-right encryption on the physical disk? would I have to FTP the ISO’s off and lower the quality of the movie and put it back on?
  13. I ran the halo 2 game disc once made a profile, installed the dlc from a hdd ready download. Original hdd had the dlc already. The installed files match on the 1 TB drive so the install is good. 3 out of ten times when a dlc game is picked in the pregame lobby I get a "Failed to load map" error. Also when I try to join a game that is dlc it occurs as well. When I host a dlc game it works but not every time for the other person I get 1 or more players failed to load map. This occurs with xlink kai as a direct system link connection works every time. Not sure if it is xlink kai computer settings or what?
  14. I'm working on a mini Xbox and I'm going to be using a picoPSU for power. I've already read up on the 5v amperage issues and I bought one that should work fine. I've wired up all the ground, 12v, 5v, and 3.3v wires, and connected the Xbox's 3VSB, PowOK, and PowOn all to 3.3v. However, when I enable the ATX power supply and press the power button on the Xbox, I get green power LEDs for a couple seconds, then they blink green and red, and the console never powers on. Need a little guidance on what I should be changing in my setup.
  15. I'm having some trouble getting both of these working at the same time; I have a M8+ 1.6 BIOS pointing to Rocky5's xISO patcher, which works fine, but when I try to pack it with XboxHD's patch and run it, it doesn't show up in the XboxHD app. This happens using both the edited or clean M8+ images as a base when packing it again. If I don't load the xISO patcher, the XboxHD patch shows up fine in the app. I'm wondering if there's a way around this or if anyone else has gotten these to work together.
  16. so the plan is to add a lcd, 128 ram dual boot bios and hdmi output. but might to a purple and smoke black first Wot do u all think
  17. Hello everyone, I was able to find a 220V powersupply for my broken v1.1 xbox . Now I am aware of the connector and pinout and standby voltages are different. But assuming I have the connector, a 5->3.3V voltage regulator ( for standby ) would it ok ?. Note : The model I'm working with is DPSN-96DP-1 BR
  18. i have a prototype game that i want to run on my modded xbox. how do i turn it into a file that will run on it?
  19. Hi everyone, I'm new here. Long story short. I'm trying to install MakeMhz XboxHD+ Hdmi Mod to my Xbox with 1.6v motherboard and 2TB HDD. I'm stuck with BIOS patching. Patched BIOS gives coma Console issue. All I get is steady green light on Xbox and black screen. All patching was done following official MakeMhz guide with EvTool 1.0.9 and correct ips file. Unpatched BIOS works just fine. I'm using Evox M8+ 16 Bios with OpenXenium modchip. Can't figure out what I'm missing. Tried different Bios'es. Also tried Using my old Aladdin Chip with same result. After patch is applied and flashed, I'm getting coma console. Also EvTool 1.0.9 won't recognize patched BIOS, gives me Unsupported kernel error. BIOS that I've tried to use, MD5 Checksum matches (as per MakeMhz website). Any help would be much appreciated. As I've been trying to work it out for two weeks now.
  20. so here's the thing I can't launch my games from the DvD drive it spins and initializes but won't launch games.
  21. Hi, I managed to buy a PAL copy of THPS4 and a USB adapter for my Xbox, thought my old rooted phone would work with it. Sadly, there is an issue with it that I wouldn't have thought of before. This particular phone seems to host a partition with USB drivers automatically - for example, when I plug it into a PC it shows up as a CD-ROM which allows you to install the USB drivers. In DriveDroid this driver image seems to take up the first image slot out of the three available and I can't get rid of it in any way. Clicking eject only clears the slot for a couple of seconds, then it hosts the image again. Even with a 16 MB empty image hosted in a different slot the Xbox keeps saying that my drive is corrupted. Any idea how I could get my phone to work?
  22. Hi all, After lots of searching / reading topics, this is my first post and a newbie question ... I can't seem to set up my Amiga games to load and / or play properly on Ninja?!?!?! Any help will be appreciated as I've been able to get other formats going and added artwork, categories etc however getting an Amiga game to work has me stumped
  23. i know there was a trick to reflow the gpu on a redring'ing 360 with a heatgun. would that work on an og xbox that needs the gpu to be reflowed?
  24. I've found numerous copies of a +4 MechAssault trainer that just doesn't work. I have an NTSC copy of the game and the trainers are for NTSC. The only point of confusion is that I think the game is version 1.08? Perhaps the trainers were made for the original version.
  25. Hi all got several Sega games that I just can't get to load from my HDD. most notably Jest Set Radio Future, Panzer Dragoon Orta and Gunvalkyrie. I know they all have an issues with the v.1.6 but I`m using a tsop V.1.4 with an up to date UnleashX as main dashboard. for each game I have tried different sources of ISO's and Redumps but all versions act the same way. the game Freezes on Sega logo (Jest Set) or when loading first level (Gunvalkyrie, Panzer) tried to load them trough different dashboards (XBMC4GAMERS, emustation etc) to no avail. been reading all relevant discussions and couldn't find another example of this problem, nor a solution, so it must be something with my console's configuration. any ideas? some pics of my board and settings https://photos.app.goo.gl/iEzaFfu6n2dcFvgp8 any help will be appreciated, been struggling with this for quite some time now. Tnx!
