Hey everyone, I wanted to start a discussion/thread about games that are in perfect working condition but for some reason the DVD Drive is too old or stubborn to read the game. I of course have 2 consoles both with Thompson drives and I found (so far) that neither will read the following games: 1. Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball 2. Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring. Both discs are in pristine condition but UnleashX and DVD2XBOX give a "Tray Empty" message. I did a Google search for these and it seems others have the same problems with these 2 games being read on a Thompson Drive. I wanted to know what other games and drives folks are having issues with. Hope to hear from you all. Thanks, Larry

Hi - I am trying to rebuild an xbox hard drive - I have the eeprom - a meant gave me an old Dell IDE drive - I know HDM v. 1.9 will work on it as I used it a few years ago. Does anyone know where I can get the C and E drive files for the rebuild? Thanks

Hi - I recently updated my hard drive using HDM v 1.9 and it is now ready to mod - I have two options 1. Since I have all the files from back in the day to use Splinter Cell the SID I could mod it easily then I can use put Rocky 5 over it using the Rocky 5 disk. OR 2. Go to the trouble of setting up Rocky 5 Memory card mod -using a flash drive and Splinter Cell - have all the leads from back in the day and recently downloaded all the files and software needed. My question is does it matter if I choose the lazy option (number 1 above) or since I'm starting afresh with a new drive should I take the Option 2 route? Thanks in advance

Hey all, On my xbox, I enable 16:9, and it works fine on all the skins I've used, except the xbox spinner on the left included in the default skin and others, looks very narrow, as if instead of spreading wider for 16:9, it is narrower. Is there a fix for that?

I've seen mods that replace the CPU and GPU heatsinks with fan heatsinks (like the Iceberq 4 Pros). I want to do the same thing to my console, but I'm not sure where I could connect them. I have a 1.0 motherboard, so I could use the original CPU fan connector to power one. But where do I power the other? I've seen people use the exhaust fan connector to power one of the fans. How is that done, while still being able to use the exhaust fan too? Could I safely use a 3 pin y splitter on the CPU fan connector to power both CPU and GPU fan heatsinks? Or if I wanted to use a 3 pin splitter for the exhaust fan and GPU fan heatsink, would that be safe as well? Also, I would like to install 2 sets of LED lights. One would be 2 pin and the other would be 4 pin. Where could I connect these to power them safely? Everything is 12 volt. And I would rather not do any soldering. If I have to solder, i would rather it be wire to wire soldering and not directly to PSU or motherboard.

Hello It has been a while since I've messed around with Ninja and was wondering since I have a drive thats split into two 70 gig parts f &g how do I get lets say a folder with games in it to show in Ninja? So lets say I put everything in F drive but some games didn't fit how do I make those show in ninja? I saw no option to "scan" folders.... Thanks !!!

Hi all, Feeling pretty embarrassed. I have a PAL 1.4 XBOX with what I think is an Alladin Advance v32 installed. I was having issues with PAL games and the HD modes. I used XBMP to change the video output setting to NTSC-J. The console loads into the chip black and white (with shades of brown). Part way through the boot, the lights change back over to stock bios (bright green eject light). The console then displays Error 21. I cannot load back into EvoX to change the video setting back. No discs load. Is there anything I can do to change the video setting? All help is good help.

So I have decided I am selling this LCD-MOD and LCD-CON as I won't be needing it anymore and it should go to someone who will use it. It allows your xbox to have an LCD via the LPC, no modchip required if you have a tsop flashed xbox. I'll include a small blue LCD too (of course larger ones can easily be added). I'll also include a pinheader. I'm in the UK so please understand that postage costs will be more for overseas buyers.Would consider trades for similarly rare xbox items. Unfortunately I am not sure of the exact value to due the fact they are very hard to find so I don't exactly have a price, if someone could give me a realistic idea it would be appreciated.Thanks

I have a 1.0 Xbox that has the dreaded "Christmas Lights" flashing on the eject button. It tries to boot twice before doing its signature Red and Green flashing. Nothing is displayed on the TV so no codes are provided. It also makes a terrible noise when it fails to boot up. After tearing it down completely, cleaning everything top to bottom, removing the clock capacitor (which did not leak thank god), opening and inspecting the DVD drive then hooking everything back up I'm about 99% sure the condition and noise is being caused by a faulty HDD. My question is, assuming my diagnosis is correct, if I bought a SATA HDD (with the proper cables and converter) and installed an Aladdin XT Plus2 Modchip inside would it bring this Xbox back to life? Again, the theory is that the original HDD took a shat so I'm not worried about the DVD drive or motherboard. If there are any other steps I should take (EXCEPT softmodding and replacing the whole console) please let me know. If you require any other information I can also provide it for you. Thank you for your time and help on the matter!

Today I worked on taking apart controllers and cleaning them up. I figured while I was at it I would go ahead and take apart and clean up my remote power button and USB adapter mod too. I made this probably about 12 years ago. I took an Xbox Live communicator apart and replaced the circuit board with a simple breadboard from Radio Shack. I put a USB port where the volume knob used to be and a switch under the mute button. I modded my Xbox with the yellow wire remote power button mod so I wired up the switch as the remote power button. The nice thing about modding this communicator is that I can plug it into any controller and have a remote power button without modding the controller itself. It is also great for softmodding systems by plugging a USB drive directly into the communicator instead of making a USB adapter cable that I would have to search for whenever I work on modding a system.

I am planning my first slim, with my newly acquired (and first) chipped Xbox. But I am not sure what chip it is, and what I should do. What bios to flash and so on, I have only worked with softmods before. How ro run the Xbox without a dvd drive? Sent fra min NX551J via Tapatalk

I wanted to play Simpsons hit and run on my Hard modded 2tb xbox. The game freezes on the first loading screen. I have looked online and see this is common for the pc and Ps2 version. Is there a solution? Thanks
