About Me

  1. Hi guys, I recently attempted an Aladdin XT plus modchip install on my xbox V1.0. Other then trying to suck out the solder from the LPC ports, the process was relatively smooth. When I first went to boot the box, the Aladdin instantly smoked hard so I it off. At the moment I'm trying to figure out whether it was my install error or a faulty chip. When I remove the chip and boot the xbox, it boots fine and normal. As soon as I add the chip back on, which doesn't smoke anymore, the xbox FRAGS. I tested the LPC pins and didnt get any continuity between ones I shouldnt have. I then tested to make sure the 5 and 3,3 voltages were still good and they were. I was gonna test each individual pin and see if maybe Im seeing 5V/3.3V where I shouldnt, but other then that I'm not sure if it was the install, but instead just a faulty chip. I bought it from Modchipcentral and I've gotten good stuff from them before. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
  2. hi, does anyone know a uk seller for aladdin xt chips(prepared to pay more to a british seller)?. ebay had 3 or 4 last week, but now only china and hong kong, the one i had saved was 5 quid post free, but now says listing ended, so i thought i'd ask. thanks
  3. So I have reprogrammed the cpld of the aladdin xt ready for xblasting, I have tried booting the console off an x2 duo lite modchip hotswapping and flashing xblast however Evox Gives me "flash not writable" error. I am using sst49lf080a chips and all of them say the same. I have tried flashing the 1mb bank 1mb dual and 256k. The 256k works with the original 49lf020a and I can flash it however after reprogramming the cpld and fitting the 49lf080a chip the flash is not writable. I have no wires on the modchip and grounded d0 on the board. I am completely stumped and dont want to fork out for a programmer for the 49lf080a chips especially if they could be bad. What the hell can I do or could the chips I have be bad? Serious Thanks in advanced!
  4. Hello all. Just recently got into making my own Aladdin xblast chips. I've noticed a few people around here have been looking for them. Currently have 4 Aladdin chips in stock. The CPLD will be flashed with xblast by this weekend. Please bare with me, if I am out of stock, as my current job only pay's minimum wage, and it is quite difficult for me to purchase materials to make the Xblast chips. I am working to make some more soon. In the mean time, if you need one I'm selling.
  5. Good Afternoon Folks, A simple query regarding the above modchips - as they are the only ones you can seem to acquire these days what is the different between the two and the pro's and cons etc and which would be recommended if any. Also, what wire gauges are we using to rebuild the LPC and wire up the above chips. Kind Regards,
  6. I accidentally bridged the two pads below the bt pad to the bt pad will the chip still work?
  7. So i got everything installed and i get the xbox trying to boot 3x (i can see the fan on the gpu spinning) then it flashes red/green and no more fan spinning on gpu but it sounds like my hdd is still going. No picture at any point. I had alot of issues with soldering the D0 point and if im being honest i dont know if its soldered to a proper ground or not i put it to one of the bigger square pads on the motherboard. Also when soldering the D0 point i coudnt get any solder to stay and i couldn't really even see the point anymore so i went above it to another point and scraped off some of the solder mask that was on it and soldered there instead, i was hoping that since it was on the same trace it would work the same but i doubt it works like that. This is the exact chip i used and its a version 1.0 xbox. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GWQXP62/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  8. im waiting for the alladin plus x2 chip to come in the mail while waiting I have installed my break away header and the corresponding wires needed and cut the l trace my question is what does the xbox do when you tun it on without the chip and the trace l trace cut my xbox is a 1.6
  9. Hey guys, I just bought a bunch of Xboxes and try to preserve them. Therefore I remove the clock capacitor, bring on some new thermal paste and install a modchip. Now I ran into some problems on my first box : Box autostarts immediately after plugging in and restarts even after shutdown. Modchips works and boots from Slayers EVOX CD. Is there anything I made wrong so that it starts automatically ? How can I change the modchips behaviour so that I won´t have to push 3 seconds on power to start it ?
  10. Hi im new to this forum but not new to modding . soon I will be installing an alladin plus x2 chip in my version 1.6 xbox therefore hard modding it . I seen where people are putting xbmc origins on their softmodded x boxes but find little information on getting a dashboard as such on it after I hard modded it ? so please 1.could somebody point me towards a prebuilt xbmc origins with instructions on how to install after I have successfully hard modded my xbox note: I will be using a ide to sata adapter to use a 2 tb hd or larger in the system 2. I plan to ftp my game files over to the hd another question I have. Can I use the hard drive as an external hard drive after I have installed a front end and transfer all my files at once with an external sata to usb adapter ? Past mod exp is n3ds ps2 softmod and hard mod with 4tb hd wii loaded softmod wii u softmod loaded sega dreamcast complete library with flash sd slot Moderator: Topic Title changed from Aladdin Chip Modder to Aladdin Chip Modder - XBmc Origins Installation, How?
  11. Hey all. i hope you can help. My 'Project Xbox' (V1.4) which i generally tinker with has an Aladdin X2 running IND bios. All my other Xbox's are either soft modded or have Xceuter 2 installed. I've never tsop'd a console and was thinking that i should give it a go and move the Aladdin X2 off too one of my 1.6's that has been soft modded. Can i boot to dash, pull the chip and then flash the tsop? Assume i have already bridged the 1.4 mobo ready for a tsop flash? ( This box, like all my others has a failed DVD that doesn't read discs. so need to do all this from the xbox itself) And... what software should i flash with? Thanks heaps
  12. HI all im new to this modding scene and have just installed a aladdin 4032 in my xbox. after a lot of failure and frustration it finally went my way and im now on the look out for new stuff to add. I was just wondering is there any add ons for the aladdin like the old xecuter chips?
  13. Ok this is really frustrating. The xbox flashes green/red (restarts 3 times). And I can't figure out what I've done wrong here. I felt like the job went really smooth. I have also cut the trace near the xbox chip (so it cannot boot from the xbox's bios anymore, right?). I tried desoldering everything, replacing the wires, removing unused pins, adding them back. Grounding D0 (Even though I cut the trace, I decided to try). What else can I try? This was my precious crystal xbox too, and was excited to get the job done Edit: I tried the Aladdin modchip in a 1.4 Xbox, and it worked just fine there. I also checked continuity on the lpc rebuild, and it seems to be fine. No shorts. Did I get any of the wires wrong?
  14. I have a 1.0 Xbox that has the dreaded "Christmas Lights" flashing on the eject button. It tries to boot twice before doing its signature Red and Green flashing. Nothing is displayed on the TV so no codes are provided. It also makes a terrible noise when it fails to boot up. After tearing it down completely, cleaning everything top to bottom, removing the clock capacitor (which did not leak thank god), opening and inspecting the DVD drive then hooking everything back up I'm about 99% sure the condition and noise is being caused by a faulty HDD. My question is, assuming my diagnosis is correct, if I bought a SATA HDD (with the proper cables and converter) and installed an Aladdin XT Plus2 Modchip inside would it bring this Xbox back to life? Again, the theory is that the original HDD took a shat so I'm not worried about the DVD drive or motherboard. If there are any other steps I should take (EXCEPT softmodding and replacing the whole console) please let me know. If you require any other information I can also provide it for you. Thank you for your time and help on the matter!
  15. Anyone here have a Aladdin XT Plus 2 or Advance modchip? (Official one, not clone without traces, there's a difference) , i've got a official chip here and its got the traces to the pinouts but there's no Trimmer potentiometer , so i'm going to add one, but i don't know the resistance increment 5k-20k? I mean would it matter or what. My reason for doing such is i'm going to solder this trim pot to a chip without one. So i can get a contrast adjustment to my LCD.
  16. Looking for Aladdin XT 4064 with LCD support, if you are willing to sell one, let me know your price.
  17. Hi, so I've used this guide to install an Aladdin XT PLUS2 into my rev 1.4 Xbox. I soldered D0 to the chip and bridged BT so the chip is always on, but as soon as I power up the system, the screen stays black. If I unplug the chip it normally boots. At first I followed the guide and soldered D0 to the LAN LED's ground, but then the Xbox would just boot normally without the EvoX logo, after I soldered D0 to the chip, the black screen problem appeared. (FYI I took the pictures when I still had D0 soldered to the LAN LED's ground. Oh and Ignore the 4 pins at the top, I was too fast and placed the pin header wrong, so I had to solder on 3 other pins) I already checked the solder points three times and tried to reflow the solder points two times in hopes that I just messed up soldering the pins, but that didn't help either. Can somebody tell me what the cause for this to happen could be? The system doesn't FRAG, HDD spins up, but the TV just stays black.
