  1. Is it the dot tif file in the TruHexen2019.zip download. I think this archive is an update to the author's original version as the ISO inside is named: TrueHeXEn2019 Update.iso. Source: assemblergames.com Xbox (Original console) forum thread posting by ToxicMedz - My Hexen Project: TruHeXEn 2019 Reduced size jpeg image attached below:
  2. I'd really suggest a 24" long cable as the 18" long one is barely long enough to reach.
  3. Welcome to OGXbox.com. Mod it or lose it, KaosEngineer
  4. Looks like the link should be https://imgur.com/a/Et9iI3j
  5. No, not that HDE adapter. There's a different version that has the IDE port and power Molex connector on one side and a combined SATA data and power connector on the other - HDE 2 pack IDE-to-SATA adapters Buy at least 2 so you hopefully get one that's not dead on arrival (DOA). Some people have had no problems and others get a few dead ones when received. Bad capacitors and soldering passed through poor quality control screening.
  6. OP, I think you need to unlock the original hard drive before installing a new unlocked HDD. Do you know what BIOS you are booting? Verify that the modchip is enabled and not loading a stock MS BIOS.
  7. You are correct, UnleashX scans the folders and adds a game to the list based on it's internal XBE title not the folder it is found in. I think its the first game found that's added to the menu. Any other default.xbe's found during scanning directories to build the menu with the same internal XBE Title are skipped and not added to the menu. Fix Use UnleashX's File Manager to change the internal XBE Titles. Highlight each game's default.xbe file then press the White button to pop-up the Select options menu which lists the operations that can be performed. Scroll up (D-pad up one) to Rename XBE Title.., use the onscreen keyboard to change each conflicting default.xbe's internal XBE Title to be unique. Reboot. https://imgur.com/9CbLEtL
  8. DVD2Xbox should not result in ISO's of 100GB. The dual-layer media of an original game disc is ~8.5GBs with the game files, filler, and DVD Video content that plays when the disc is loaded into a DVD player. Not all of that data is stored in the ISO DVD2Xbox creates for each game. Most games should result in an XISO (dot iso) file less than 4GBs. There are a few that are larger.
  9. Where are these folders saved to on the Xbox HDD? What's the folder name on the PC? Do you have a directory listing showing a few of them? Post it.
  10. Which IDE-to-SATA adapter? Not all work with Chimp. During cloning, it's not the IDE cable causing a problem. The adapter must have a MASTER/SLAVE jumper to configure the adapter as SLAVE during cloning then set to MASTER when the HDD is installed to boot.
  11. There is no simple change of the cluster size allocation. There is no tool to redo the cluster allocation without destroying the data already present. You have to reformat the partition and as @Ging3rguy says all data on it will be lost. You can format an individual extended partition without affecting the stock Xbox partitions. If you resize partition 6 and have a partition 7 then it too will have to be reformatted and all data lost on 7 too (Drive G) but such a change doesn't apply to @Tomos. Back up the F drive first by downloading what you need with FTP to your PC, reformat the extended partition(s), then upload the files to the Xbox again.
  12. A 500GB drive shouldn't cause any problems. If you have only an F drive (partition 6), it should be formatted to use 32KB clusters. Do you have F and G or just F? Various Cluster allocation sizes: 64KB clusters allow for the partition to be up to 1,024 GiBs (1TB) in size. 32Kb clusters allows for the partition to be up to 512 GiBs in size. 16KB clusters allows for a partition to be up to 256 GiBs. When checking for proper formatting, make sure that the version of XBPartitioner is v1.3.
  13. Run XBPartitioner v1.3 to make sure the extended partition is properly formatted. There should NOT be an ER printed to the left of the partition's size. If there is, it needs to be reformatted.
  14. 1.6 or 1.6b - Samsung or Hynix RAM chips, respectively.
  15. What's M.2 BIOS? Never heard of it. There's X2 but not M.2. There are many different X2 releases - latest being 4981, 4983 (both 256KB in size) or 5035 (512KB in size).
  16. N64 freak has such an internally installed HDMI mod. It is not the cheapest HDMI mod but does have 5.1 support thru the HDMI connector and a set of solder pads to add an optical transmitter. Find more information in the N64 freak Products forum.
  17. Boot the console. In the MS Dashboard, go to Settings -> System Info to start the copyright scroller. Wait till the end and copy down the K and D values shown. Also. what are the last 5 digits of the serial number? and production date?
  18. So, it's a v1.6 ogXbox? Does the eject ring LED start flashing before it shuts off? If so, what color(s)?
  19. You don't have to partition it. The image is a sector-by-sector copy of the Xbox hard drive it was made from. Once the image is restored to a new hard drive, install it in an Xbox. The drive is prepped and partitioned ready to use in an Xbox. If you are softmodded, the hard drive will have to be locked. If you have a modchip installed or TSOP reflashed with a hacked BIOS, you do not have to lock the new HDD to use it.
  20. Softmodded consoles require the HDD to be locked using the eeprom.bin's HDDKey to generate the locking password. I don't think the Xbox Origins Pack image was made from a softmodded console (I do not have the space to download and look at the files in the image to verify this statement.) You will have to write the image to the new drive with the HDD Raw Copy Tool, run XboxHDM23USB beta 2 or 3 to lock the hard drive after copying your eeprom.bin file to the folder that contains its startup batch file, xboxhd.bat. Once locked, exit XboxHDM23USB Beta 2 or 3, disconnect the HDD from the USB-to-HDD adapter and re-install the hard drive in the Xbox. Boot the console, I believe it will start MS dashboard as if it is not softmodded. Next, if required, softmod the console. The Softmodding process only affects the content of the C drive. Other than you adding the two (2) softmod game saves to the E:\UDATA folder to run it. Everything on E, F and G remain untouched as far as their current content goes. Image restoration with HDD Raw Copy Tool will overwrite all the data already written to a hard drive. You only want to restore the disc image to a new HDD or one you are okay losing all files already stored to it. The image was from a 2TB HDD so your 3TB HDD will have the exact same size partitions as available on a 2TB HDD (F and G 927.78GBs). None of the extra space available on it will be usable. LBA48 allows up to 2.2TBs to be formatted less the stock 8GBs with 64KB cluster allocation for partitions 6 and 7. The Xbox extended partitions cannot be expanded to gain the additional formatted ~200GB's of space as if you formatted a new 3TB HDD with XBPartitioner v1.3. For image restoration to a SATA drive, the hard drive can be directly connected to one of your PC's SATA ports. To lock the HDD after the Origins Pack image is restored, XboxHDM23USB Beta 2 or 3 as supplied in the download archive requires the HDD to be connected to the PC with a USB-to-HDD interface adapter.
  21. iND-BiOS 67 is uses the LBA48 standard 67 configuration. This configuration is F (partition 6) up to 137GB and G (partition 7) takes the rest. However such a setup doesn't work for a 2TB HDD. The maximum size of a partition is limited to 1TB. Dashboards will look like they have the proper size but once the cluster allocation counter is exceeded (overflows) the partition's data will become corrupted. Cluster Allocation Size - Max Partition Size 64KB - 1TB 32KB - 512GB 16KB - 256GB However, many of the latest BIOSes; Evox M8 and M8plus, X2 4981 and 4983, iND-BiOS 5003 and 5004; support reading a partition table written by XBPartitioner v1.3 from the hard drive to set custom sizes for the extended partitions that override the built-in LBA48 default settings. Since partitions on the Xbox HDD start at fixed sector offsets without a partition table present, the BIOS accesses the start of the G partition for the directory data at the wrong location if F starts after the old LBA28 137GB boundary. The directory content is incorrect and the G drive does not show up. Write a partition table to the HDD and G will automagically appear. Capture a picture of XBPartitioner v1.3's main screen and post it here for me to verify how your HDD has been partitioned.
  22. The version on Hexen 2018 disc should be the latest 261812 version but if it's Hexen 2017 or an earlier release most likely it is not the latest version of Chimp 261812. Update: I checked the version of Chimp on HeXEn 2018. It is the latest version of Chimp 261812.
  23. Where skins go depends on where UnleashX's default.xbe file located on the hard drive and/or the settings in config.xml. To change it, go to UnleashX's menu item System -> Settings -> scroll down to System again then scroll down to the Skin Section to the Skins Path line. Press A and browse to the folder you want to use for loading the various Skins. UnleashX will look for skin.xml files in subfolders only 1 level below the set path (e.g., E:\skins\InfraSkin Cyan\). You can also manually edit UnleashX's config.xml file to change the location of the Skins folder to a custom location - for example: E:\Skins (files and folder names on the Xbox are not case sensitive but case preserving. If you enter upper and lower case letters, they are saved but files and folders can be accessed without dependence on matching the case of each letter unlike Linux which is case sensitive.) UnleashX's Config.xml line to set the skin path: Look for the <Skin>...</Skin> line in: <Settings> ... <Preference> ... <Skin>Skin_Name</Skin> ... </Preference> ... </Settings> If no Path attribute is present, the subfolder Skins where UnleashX's default.xbe file is located is being used. To add a user defined path, add the Path="" attribute as shown below: <Skin Path="E:\Skins">skin_name</Skin>
  24. Error 6 - HDD cannot be unlocked. The HDD is locked with a unique password generated by an algorithm that uses the Xbox's unique HDDKey and model and serial number of the hard drive to be locked. Currently, the HDD is locked with such a password and is only accessible to the console it was originally installed in - the console with the X2 modchip. The HDD needs to be unlocked before it can be installed in a different hardmodded console. Each console shipped from the factory by Microsoft had its own unique HDDKey and the hard drive was locked with a unique password generated by it for this particular hard drive. The Xbox BIOS computes this unique unlocking password each time it boots. It then send the ATA security command with the computed password to the hard drive to unlock it. Unlocking the hard drive gains read/write access to the data stored on it. Thus, it is impossible (well not actually, but more on that later) to swap HDDs while booting the Xbox's stock BIOS. One function of the modified/hacked BIOSes is to eliminate/bypass the ATA security feature MS designed into the console. Since both console's are booting a modified BIOS, you can unlock the hard drive which will allow you to move it freely between the hard modded consoles. One nice feature of using a modchip (hardmod) over a softmod. A softmodded console still boots the stock BIOS on the motherboard which requires the HDD to be locked to that console. There is a way around that too (this is the later part mentioned above) which will allow HDDs to be moved between NULL'd HDDKey softmodded consoles. The HDDKey is no longer unique but the same value on all of the NULL'd consoles. It is set to zero (NULL).
  25. You really don't want to boot a stock BIOS. You can do everything and more with a modified BIOS booting from the TSOP. You don't have to install a modchip. The flash memory chip (named TSOP for its package style - Thin Small Outline Package) MS provided on the motherboard holds the BIOS for you. Eliminating the need to purchase and install a modchip to mod the Xbox. If you TSOP mod the console, you do need additional hardware and some free software to load the necessary TSOP flashing software package onto the Xbox's hard drive to perform the reflashing process. Writing a modified BIOS to the TSOP, flash memory chip, on the motherboard.
