  1. You can get these from eBay, amazon or AliExpress. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32887865209.html
  2. Make sure you have protected turned off on the middle switch when you are trying to flash to the chip as well.
  3. Here you go The LPC Debug Port is an unpopulated 2x8 2.54mm (0.1") footprint. Info from here https://xboxdevwiki.net/LPC_Debug_Port
  4. Using a higher rated voltage cap should be fine, not read about the 6.3v not being adaquate but have read about dodgy caps. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague
  5. Here’s a video about the much loved pound cable and the 1.4, I know it’s not exactly the problem you have but it does suggest changing the caps and a few other things. I use a pound cable and my 1.4 is the only one that has issues with the pound cable and changing the caps did nothing, but the caps did need changing anyway. https://youtu.be/Hr5Ao4vFuE4

    Noob Hdd Dead

Do you have your replacement drive? If you do install it, put an install disk in your dvd drive and turn on the Xbox, if it is a hardmod you will be asked if you want to format the hdd, if it is a softmod you will get an error code and will either need to format your new hdd using chimp or xboxhdm.
  7. If you didn’t use a hdd key to lock it try using master password XBOXSCENE or TEAMASSEMBLY
  8. You need to have the recovery.bin already on your e partition for the recovery mode to find. Just get a copy of xos2.3.1 hdd and ftp the recovery.bin from the recovery folder not the reset factory default folder. It can just sit on your e partition for any future issues.
  9. To use the recovery mode, flick the switch to recovery and then turn the Xbox on it will look for a recovery.bin either on your dvd drive or in the root of e partition. Once it has flashed just flick the switch back to safe mode.
  10. Try swapping the drives and see if the games work on your other Xbox.
  11. Check for trace corrosion caused by a leaky clock capacitor.
  12. If you want a different temperature try a different dash
  13. try a fresh install of the games and just check that all the files transfer, have you tried loading them in ntsc and pal?
  14. Do you have a locked hdd or your hdd key? Try removing the chip and booting using the ms bios. Have you tried flipping the recovery switch on the chip?
  15. Hi, welcome back, you should be able to get your questions answered here. This is what I use for solder other brands will do the same, just go for a 60/40 mix with a low melt temp and for flux I would go for a rosin flux pen, less mess.
  16. Igr will load to your default dash, in m8+ it loads to logo but you can change it in evtool to load to default dash. I have read in other threads by kaos that there my be a saving using xiso. It depends on your hdd and cluster size.
  17. I have attached a thread about playing xISOs from your hdd.

    Testing an Iso

Do the softmod, backup the eeprom info to a pc, install a larger hdd and load games to it. You could use backup disks but eventually your dvd drive will die and getting spares is getting hard.
  19. I have some arctic silver but have never used it, I have never removed the paste and have seen some f###ed boards from owners just levering off the heat sinks. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
  20. You can control temp with your dash, the only problem is as soon as you play a game that stops working, if you are concerned about the temp adjust the fan speed in your bios. The Xbox will just turn off if it gets to hot, I have read that it cuts out at 72 C.

    Testing an Iso

Save your dvd drive and ftp it to your hdd using qwix. What is your system setup?
  22. Nope, my boxes idle higher than that.
  23. I wouldn’t bother you will not get the benefit of the extra speed and it will probably run hotter.
  24. It would be easier for you to visit the site.
