  1. Or you could use the new cerbios as you can set the fan speed in a config file and it's XBL compatible. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  2. I would check the 5 volt filter cap/caps next to the 20 pin connector on the main board. Can you post a pic of the main board? If you use a file share site like postimages.com and add the link here. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  3. What happens if you boot with the modchip disconnected? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  4. Have a look at the FATXplorer as that can format the drives on your PC that are suitable for the cerbios. https://api.eaton-works.com/appreleasehistory/fatxplorer?mode=web&channel=beta Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  5. Why would you soft mod and then remove a hard mod? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  6. Is it a version 1.6 by any chance. This is my 1.6 after power on for the 1st time in days I took the 1st pic a few seconds after the dash loaded and the other pic was about 20 seconds later. It has the stock fan running at 40% The HDD temp is more realistic Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  7. It would be better if you uploaded a pic of you Xbox insides to a pic share site and than add a link here. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  8. In my view as the Xbox is hard modded ( mod chipped) there is no need for the eeprom data and as Kaos said you don't need to lock the new hard drive. You could always fit the new HDD/SSD and then cold boot a install disk like the OGXbox installer 2021 v1.5.4 and that will format and install a dash to the new hard drive for you. You can download that from here https://1fichier.com/dir/mX1kipIz Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  9. Don't use the diode test mode as it will report a short at 19.5ohm depending on your meter set it to 1k scale Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  10. Is it a version 1.6? Here is 2 pics from my 1.6 taken about 10 seconds apart and after the Xbox had been on for less than 60 seconds. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  11. Those capacitors are in parallel ( the 2 positives are linked and the 2 negatives are linked) so if you really wanted you could fit 1 capacitor that twice the capacity as the original (eg 1 X 200uf = 2 X 100uf ) the same with the main CPU/GPU filter caps. As for the continuity to ground I get 19.5 ohm from the cap+ to ground on a salvage board Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  12. Never seen these caps fail before, how long before my xbox stops working? How deep is a hole? could be tomorrow or 6 months SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  13. On a version 1.6 the bios is in a read only memory. You will need to fit a modchip to bypass the original bios. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.

    1.4 no power

Can you post a pic of the top ( component side ) of the PSU? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing

    1.4 no power

With the PSU plugged in the Xbox test for a 3.3 volt on the purple wire and you should also have around 3 volt on the grey wire. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing
  16. Might be a good idea to post some pics of the 2 links on the board Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  17. If you save a backup of your Xbox eeprom from the Xbox to your PC you can now use Fatxplorer3.0 Beta to make a bootable hard drive and it can also lock the hard drive from the eeprom you saved from the Xbox. Here is a tutorial https://www.hazeno.com/guides/fatxplorer-2tb-preload I means no cloning or hot swapping the HDD. OR better yet is fit a mod chip or re-flash the onboard bios and then you don't need to worry about locking the hard drive or having a backup of the eeprom. 18. Looks like the TV is the issue as your Projector and laptop don't have the same problem when displaying the Xbox image. You could rule out the Xbox by testing with a different Xbox. I would replace the all the main filter capacitors next to the heat sink as they filter the 1.5 volt supply for the CPU/GPU, Capacitors can be faulty even when they look good. 19. I hope you have deep pockets as getting a X3 chip is not going to be cheap. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  20. What happens when you power on with the eject button after the Xbox has been unplugged for a minute ? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  21. Try putting a link across the 2 pads here had see what happens. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  22. There is no 1.5 version The 1.2-1.4 have the same power supply and the 1.6 has the same 20 pin plug as the 1.2-1.4 but in not compatible. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  23. Where is your D0 wire or link? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  24. I just tested a random 1.6 here that has a Delta PSU The orange wire all have 5 volt as long as the AC is connected. With the 20 pin plug disconnected I get 0.1 volt on the PowOk and it has 5 volt on the orange wires. It's looking like you may have a dead PSU..
