Yes blow the lot away is starting from fresh. You need to make 5 posts here then you can down load the Hexen disk that need's to be burn to a DVD. My preference of disk's it verbatim DVD-R but most DVD-R should be fine. Some people have had success using DVD-RW disks as well. As your Xbox has a mod chip do not try and soft-mod it as it will crash There are plenty of BIOS files on the Hexen disk that you can use The Evtool will let you change the Evox M8 BIOS but the chip more than likely has a M8 Bios in it. You could mod a new M8 BIOS and reflash the mod chip but start with a clean install then worry about the IGR The IGR should work with the BIOS that's already in the chip. SS Dave

So the Xbox has no drive or it's failed? Is it booting and what is on the screen. If no then you need a mod chip with a custom made M7 BIOS to be temporary fitted that will let you to flash the on board BIOS once you have linked the TSOP flash enable points. If you not to confident then fit a $5 eBay Aladdin mod-chip then install your new drive and use one of the install disks that are floating around the interweb and do a full install SS Dave

Don't worry about changing the BIOS Do not try and softmod it as it will crash. Did you find a directory on the xbox called XBMC using file explorer or FTP program?. Just replace the files in the Xbox XBMC directory with the XBMC4GAMERS ones you downloaded That should get you up and running. Or you can blow the lot away and start afresh. I use Slayers 2.7 install DVD but it seems that a lot of people are using Hexen 2019 DVD that can be downloaded from the download section here. When burning a disk for Xbox's set the write speed of your burner as slow as it will go. SS Dave

Put one box together with a DVD drive the mother board with the mod chip and your new hard disk using a 80 way cable make sure if there is a link on the Sata to Ide/Pata adaptor it needs to be on Master. Hi penalizer As Mentioned be for I would set the chip to always on by linking the BT point like the pic below as there is not need to run the Xbox with the chip disabled any more (no xbox live to get band from anymore) Remove both brown wires from BT and L1 and add a link BT to GND leave D0 where it is. It's hard to tell from the pic's but I would re-solder the 1.6 rebuild board manly the points in squares. I only ever used 1 of the rebuild boards as I preferred to hard wire it as it's easier to see if the connections are good. Don't worry about the stuff on the board around the power connector. Yes that is damage from the leaking cap. The brown is dust and dirt stuck to the liquid that's leaked from the cap as well. Whether you wait till you get your new soldering iron or snap the cap of the board is up to you a week or 2 is not going it make it any worse The 3 round via points in the blue box are a result of the leaking cap The common term used on this site is trace rot I call it corrosion That PCB should be removed and cleaned both sides with isoprenol and a tooth brush(Don't waste your time using qtips) then air dried with a hair drier or heat gun

The only way I know to make a Alladen chip to boot to the new dash is remove the BT wire from the front panel and ground it. That way the chip is always active. You could take the wire off the front panel and put it under one of the screws on the mother board.

In Filezilla Get into site manager then click on new site and give it a name Change the setting's to the same as below just put your Xbox's IP address in stead of the one shown and the Password is xbox Click OK to save Then click Connect.

I like the other posters have tried different SATA to PATA/IDE adaptors. I got some from EvilBay, AliExprress and Wish dot com I have found if you getting the cheap ones get 2 or 3 at a time as I have found that some will not work a 1 box but will work in the next and have some 80 way IDE leads on hand as well because some will not work with the 40 way. The boot times between a 1tb Sata WD Blue and a 3 different brand 500 gig Pata drive's are on par with each other and using a Startech adaptor on the 1tb drive maybe 2 seconds quicker but a 2tb is around 5 seconds slower. The 2tb drive is 75% full of games the 1tb about 25% full with the 500 gig there all around 50% with the testing Bios Evox M8Plus version 1.1 box booting to a Evox dash. Is it worth the cost of the Startech probably not. That's my 20 cents worth.

With a Ship load a patience and a steady hand and having something conductive on the end of stiff wire covered in heat shrink though the vents on the side with small led also on a skewer inside for illumination then holding them on the correct points someone else boot's Xbox to the 007AUF hack. It only possible on a version 1.2 to 1.5 as the 2 TSOP flash enable points are on the top of the PCB. It would be good to do then take it back complaining the control ports don't work and see look on their faces as it boot's to a non MS dash and the 2 seals intact. If I can find a copy of the video I will post it.

So with the new Hard Drive fitted with no Hexen disk in the DVD drive what happens on power up? Has the hard Disk been used before if yes what for Xbox, PC ? What color are the Eject led's? Whats it got on the screen if you can post a pic?

Hello Mountaindew117 Are you going to change the Hard Disk? If yes just install the new drive and boot Hexen and to a install from option 3. When cmpleate remove the Hexen DVD and reboot.

Have you removed the softmod from the hard disk YET !!!! You need to remove the soft mod

That can be a problem with some of the connectors in use today as I am sure that some of the connectors are only ment to be connected once and never disconected and reconectd again. Then you get some company's that also glue the connectors together with anti tamper paint to really pissoff the tech working on the device. SS Dave

You got me curious and had to have a look. You are correct the Evxo logo is there on both I was basing my assumption of the logo only for a 1.6 version on the DuoX2 chips that had a version 1.0 to 1.5 on one bank and a version 1.6 bios on the 2nd bank as the versios 1.6 bank had the Evox spash and no Evox for the others.
