  1. This is the best I can offer You need to fit a pin header with pin 16 removed and pin 4 as well. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  2. Your choice of BIOS is really up to you as everyone has their favorite and some will say that the one they use is the only one and the other's are crap. I use the X2 and the M8 bios and seeing the Open Xenium can have several why not load up some different ones and try for you self. The M8 can be modified using EVtools and there is XBtools for some of the X2 bios. The IND bios can also be modified by changing the config file on the Hard Drive Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  3. Hello v3ck1n I would suggest that you get a temperature controlled soldering station with a small and medium size tip. Get some flux paste and for solder I use a leaded solder 0.8 mm diameter. You will also need desoldering Braid/wick to remove solder and to remove large amounts of solder a desolder pump. A magnifying glass and light combo is the way to go and a small vice to hold small parts while soldering is also useful. You don't need to spend a fortune just get the best you can afford . Then get some old circuit boards to practice on 1st Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  4. That Bios checking program is as good as a ashtray on a motorbike it's useless in other words. Ha Ha The mod chip in the pic is a Aladdin chip and can have any 256kb bios Seeing that is a version 1.6 I would use a EvoX M8plus_16 bios. It probably already has that bios in it but it may not support large hard drives but you can try anyway. If you want you can flash this bios to the modchip or have a look on your install disk. New 1.6 Bios.bin Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  5. The one's I found in my container of assorted screws come from an old home audio system PCB to chassis mounting The thread length is the same and the thread diameter is a bee's dick thinner(0.1mm) with the thread pitch ever so slightly different but been a self tapping screw it would no matter. But where to buy them NFI. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  6. The 6 screws holding the case are custom so why not the other screws. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  7. Is the controller a MS one or after market? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  8. You can leave the links on it will do any harm. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  9. I would say the traces along the bottom front have damage from the Clock cap leaking Pull the board out and have a look for the dark spots like in this pic. If your not sure post a pic of the board. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  10. I would say that they are custom made for MS the silver ones mesure 7.8mm and including the head 10.3mm the gold version is 7.7mm and 10.1mm including the head and I can't say I have seen anything the same in other electronics devices. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  11. I would say no The wireless controller interface is plug and play from N64 freak and the 3d printed mounting bracket from Paul Demers and downloaded from Thingiverse Keep in mind that N64 freak is waiting on more parts for the ogx360 Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  12. You could flash the BIOS with a No DVD check then you can remove the DVD drive altogether. As for switching between the two on a SATA drive there is 4 data lines that would need to be changed over and it would be feasible to set it up to boot from drive 1 from the power button and boot from drive 2 from the eject button or holding the eject while hitting the power button or something like that. I am not sure how the SATA drives would handle the data lines been rerouted via a switching system and it is something I have been meaning to test one day. 13. This is one of mine. USB port's in 3 and 4 Port 4 with a 8bitDo Port 3 with a USB thumb drive Port 3 is a DVD dongle and USB port that can be used simultaneously the only problem is the Xbox is incapable of using any bigger than 4 gig for fatx files Port 4 the 8bitDo is for a single Xbox one controller or you can plug in a MS wireless receiver and use 2 Xbox 360 controllers effectively on port 1 and 2 or leave it disconnected and plug in a wired control to port 1 and 2. 14. Hi Chris I am sure you will find the info your looking for and if not just ask. I am happy to see you not mention Softmod and that your waiting for a Modchip Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  15. I have tested a Version 1.6 (same as yours) without the DVD and Hard drive connected and I got the normal Xbox booting screen and sounds Can you have a look or post a pic of this location you looking for a cut trace maybe and if possible a pic of the bottom around the pin header for the mod chip. Removing the chip from the board will force the Xbox to boot from the stock BIOS. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  16. Yes and no Soldering 400 pins 100 per chip can be a slow job and even when you think there all good the chip can still fail a test due to 1 pin not soldered or a less than hair thickness short. If your going to have a go get some old computers to practice on 1st and in Homer Simpson's words work the internet on the google machine and watch heaps of clips on soldering. My 1st 80 pin micro I changed took over an hour to do 1 chip now 90 minutes for the 4 chips and that's taking my time and testing each chip with Xblast. 17. That's the $1000 question that only you can answer. My take on it is if the Xbox was new in box and factory sealed so never touched I would leave it as is also if it's just for display then maybe don't bother. If your planning on using it then you will need to open it at some stage to recap it as the cap's will fail. If you use warm to hot air on the stickers you can lift them up to open the xbox and then reseal when finished maybe practice on some other Xboxes 1st. 18. It's now got 128 meg ram a N64 freak's HDMI kit along with some tidy up of the cables and a test fitting of the DVD and HDD mounting plastics. I have also turned the USB so the contacts are facing down. And looking at this pic I need to reprint the USB bracket in black. Things to make and do next is wireless(IR) power on/off control with external input for the DVD remote control from my IR repeater system. If you see any thing or have suggestions good or bad let me know. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  19. Send a message to N64 freak(located in Germany) he has a plug and play 2 player system you just add the MS usb wireless receiver. This the interface from Lukas And this is what I am thinking of using of the next install. Port 4 Port 3 Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  20. There has been cases of the Gold clock cap starting to bulge and leaking the version 1.6 boards but it's still not as common as the 1.0-1.4 boards. The 1st leaking clock cap I had was 13 years ago and I think it's depends on the climate the Xbox lives in as that one was in a tropical location. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  21. Are you after a 2 player or 4 player? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  22. You could always build on yourself as all the info is on his github if your keen and have good soldering skills. https://github.com/Ryzee119/ogx360 Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  23. Welcome v3ck1n You should find all the info you need to fully customise your Xbox here if not just ask. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  24. This is a different way as well and comes from a Facebook member Sean Youdis he sells the PCB and you build and program it yourself You trim the top and bottom of the lcd pcb to make it easier to fit and wire to the LPC connector Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  25. NO and the easy way would be fit a modchip unless he has nulled the hdd key or has a copy of it then he could unlock the drive. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
