I made my Xblast test chip by flashing a Aladdin using the hot swap method I also have Xblast on a DuoX2 chip.

Cheers

Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.

I believe they are trying to reprogram the CPLD, Lattice LC4032V, on an Aladdin XT plus 2 with new code using the JTAG pads, not flashing the XBlast OS BIOS to a new SST49LF080 (1MB) flash memory chip.

okay so after talking with another xbox enthusiast, he informed me that my old flashcatusb classic would work to write the SVF file for the CPLD on the aladdin xt, i just needed to update the firmware that i wasn't aware of and correctly wire up the pins to my chip

You also need to replace the sst flash chip to a set 49lf080a, more info here https://www.obscuregamers.com/threads/mod-aladdin-xblast.505/

yeah i know, i have purchased a few 49lf080a a few months ago, i just had an issue with  flashing the CPLD, now that i have that figured out i think i should be good to go. im going to pull out my old willem programmer and get to flashing and test one of these out on a v1.4 xbox today.

I am probably late, but you can flash CPLD with those cheap FT232R boards from aliexpress. You need to use OpenOCD or Openschemes SVF player (works only with svf files tho, no xsvf)

For some reason while trying to flash a new bios to my TSOP I got a message saying 'programming failed', and now I get no picture when my console boots and the LED flashed red and green. So i'm thinking it's bricked. I was wondering if I installed a mod chip would this then save the console? I've seen an 'Aladdin XT+4032 X2 Plus' on eBay and the installation seems very simple for these chips.

Hello, hoping someone can help here.  I've made several xblast aladdin chips, as well as the Jafar chips, and quickboot will never boot the designated bios i have selected in Xblast Settings.  No matter what i do, it always boots to the Xblast OS.  For example: i have quickboot set to yes, i have X25035 as my 512k Bank(0), IND5003 as bank(1), and Cromwell as bank (2) aka Xblast.  If i assign either the 256k or the 512k bios to launch pressing the Eject button, it will work as it's supposed to.

I have an old Xbox that has an Xecuter 2 chip installed, it still has the stock HDD so i'd like to upgrade it to a 500GB SATA. Weirdly I cannot physically see any chip soldered to the board, I can see some yellow wires going out the front of the console so i'm not sure if this is where the chip is located? (see pic).
In any case I have downloaded the HeXen 2018 installation disc, and I have the necessary parts required to convert from IDE to SATA. Is this disc capable of setting up a HDD with this chip? I took a couple of pics showing my kernel and the fact my current HDD is locked:
