I just installed a Lounge Lizard Xblast mod chip today, my first ever mod chip install, I did it on a 1.6 Crystal using this chip and was surprised how easy to do it was.

Lizards Xblast LPC (modchips.co.nz)

I just followed the instructions for soldering it on, cutting off the pinheader and soldering it to the back of the board, the entire chip goes on the back of the board.  I didn't take any photos of my completed install as I was in such a rush to test it even worked, got it first pop too.

Eject takes me into Xblast OS, then I have a 512mb and a 256mb slot for bioses, I'm obviously just sticking to Cerbios so its on there with autobooting and the 512mb has just got a backup x2 bios on it, but I'll probably just make a 512mb Cerbios to put on that too.  It comes up as an Aladdin Xblast chip in its Xblast OS.

Only $29 NZD for the chip, so that's 18 USD.  A bargain I think, especially seeing how easy to do.  I'm happy I went this way as my other Xboxes all have the Xenium and X3 chips, nice to try out another chip for something different.
