Help to make Underclocking to 1.4GHz xbox (but I'm noob)

Hello everyone,

I recently received a classic Xbox that was modded with a 1.4GHz CPU. I'm having the classics troubles with the games running incorrectly or experiencing stability issues. Patch em it's an option, but... it's some hard work...

After some research, it seems that underclocking the CPU attempt to 733MHz might solve these compatibility issues with the original games. I read that the "Xbox Overclock" tool can help with this adjustment, and I understand that I also need to patch the BIOS to make it work properly. However, I’m not familiar with this tool and don’t know how to use it safely (Im noob), plus... I'm not speak english... I’d really appreciate any guidance from anyone who has experience with this process, in depth:

Recommended values: What specific settings should I use in the tool to achieve a stable underclock? What steps should I follow to safely apply the BIOS patch and ensure the console runs at the correct frequency?

Any advice or detailed guidance would be an incredibly helpful guys, I appreciate your time and support in advance!

N64 Freak's speed switch basically doesn't do anything. I know what it's supposed to do, but it doesn't do what it aims to. I asked N64 and he basically said the same thing. The switch on mine sure doesn't help.

Unless there's been some news recently, the last time I looked into this topic, the result was that underclocking the CPU to get it close to stock (733) wasn't feasible because of issues that is causes with the southbridge or FSB (I forget what exactly). I'd love to be proven wrong though.

Project Stellar is currently the only solution besides patching games individually for 1.4ghz Xboxes.

(this is not a recommendation to get a Stellar)

Lantus (MVG) showed in one of his OG Xbox(s) videos that he had a CPU upgraded XBox that also had a switch to toggle the CPU speed between the two. It sure was from back then, not n64 freak's. But iirc correctly he did show us in the video that his switch worked.

I think it works for some things, but not others. Game engines seem unaffected by it, largely, while homebrew seems to respond to it. Didn't MVG do it while running an arcade emulator?

From memory when I did some limited tests on my N64 version I didn't notice any real difference, also the speed test reported the same CPU speed.

From what I have read in the past your better of having the 1.4Ghz Xbox for running emulators and have a stock CPU box for games.

Cheers

Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.

Thank you all for your comments! If this is helpful, I’m sharing an "outdated Cerbios" modified to run at 733MHz (or close to it).

Please don't ask how it was created, as the original creator has disappeared, and the person who shared it with me only had the file.
This bios it's "stable" somethings run at normal speed but with drops, or maybe "jumps" in fps. (cerbios.ini could be incompatible).

If anyone with the right expertise could investigate depth on the file, and share any find it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

I made this patcher that you can use on individual .xbe files to patch for your CPU frequency, though this is not an elegant solution, one by one will be quite time consuming and there's no guarantee it will work every time.
