  1. I had this black screen issue aswell, but I used those hdd ready (loose files) dump. I never used Cerbios tho. Also I never tried launching it from Other dashes.
  2. Thank you for so much for this, Daniel. I just wanted to ask if and when you have the time in future then could you please make a small tutorial or a simple written guide on how you went about making these Homebrews? I have a dozen or so programs that I'd like to port myself but don't know where to start.
  3. It was UnleashX not able to create it's files in the new UDATA for som reason. Even though I copied the 9e115330 folder and the files within it, it seems to use more files in the UDATA directory, copying them from the older UDATA folder seemed to work.
  4. Plenty of stuff to be ported in this thread: https://www.emuxtras.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7742
  5. Just noticed that UnleashX has stopped working after I updated. On the UnleashX splash screen I can see a bunch of text in the top left corner but it's not readable for me because CRT and it reboots two seconds after showing me the dashboard. I think it's because of UDATA, but I've copied everything in 9e115330 folder in the Old UDATA folder to the new one. Unfortunately it's still the same.
  6. But why would that be the issue since it worked fine when I was using the stock HDD? Also how do you use a normal cable to FTP stuff? The guide I used only showed two methods which one was connecting your Xbox to a Wifi/LAN Router and transferring files via the router and using a Crossover cable to directly connect the XBox to a PC. Which is what I've been doing.
  7. My Xbox is running a 160 GB IDE from 2007 or something. I needed to ask this about 3 years ago, I used Crunchbite's (on Homebrew Discord) 8 GB Etcher image to prepare the new drive then iirc I used the XBox Formatter to make the partitions (which automatically set the cluster size to 16 KB) then I copied all the C:\ drive content from the original 8 GB HDD via FatXPlorer and also transferred some games and homebrew. And at that time when I was using the stock HDD my Xbox was giving me constant 10-11 mb/s on my diy crossover cable connection to my laptop. After I put that new HDD in I didn't notice that right away but the max transfer speeds I get are around 3-7 mb/s on the same crossover ethernet cable. Is it related to the cluster size or is the HDD just bad or on it last legs?
  8. There needs to be a centralized/main github Repo that has source code for all the Xbox Homebrew published.
  9. Yeah I've set up Root as default too, and that seems to work. I guess it could be used as an alternative if keeping the Music Player UI alive requires some tedious work.
  10. @Rocky5I updated my old version via downloading the latest from the github gdrive link and overwriting the files. And that seems to have also overwritten/removed my Profile and is setting up as a completely new Install. Is that how it also would've worked out if I had updated via the Downloader? Or did I screw up my profile data? Edit: I can see my old profile UDATA (UDATA.%Old_Profile_name%) Would copy pasting that into the new one work?
  11. 2.A : So the Music Player not having Crossfade was because I switched the Default Player to "MPlayer" setting it back to "PAPlayer" seems to fix that. 3. Also another suggestion I have is being able to access the Music Player after you stop the Music by selecting the Stop button in the player. That would be useful instead of having to go into Profile data to play the playlist again.
  12. Hey, just wanted to ask if you it would be possible for you to make a YouTube tutorial or video on how you went about porting this then that would be really helpful for me. As I want to port a lot of things myself. Thank you so much for this.
  13. Yup, Character limit was the problem Hyper_eye on EmuXtras suggested the same, Reducing the file names and folders made it work! Thank you too.
  14. I have auto login enabled but still my profile pic looks better in that Square size/mask. No worries, I'll take care of that my self. I meant the ones that appear when you're on the Login Screen. Those square blocks do appear in the newer version but only when you're in the dash and they also appear in the center. I just have minor nitpicks like these, sorry. XD Didn't quite get what you meant by this. Which folders do you mean the rest of games/apps/emus ones or just the shortcut one? Because In the shortcuts folder it's just the .cut files. And they use the _resources files when artworks are enabled, so all of the icons appears as box art that are in the _resources folder. If I disable artworks then I can use the <thumb> tag like I said. But it ruins icons/style for rest of the library (Games/Apps/Emus). I'm aware of the Music Player which can be brought down by pressing X. But that's not what I was talking about in that point. I meant the "Skin Settings>Startup Options" That option has the Music Playlist function. I think It'd be better to have it in the Music Section. So all settings are in one place. I just checked on the new version and it seems that Music Playback only stops on the SlideShow, FanArt SlideShow and when you have "Use visualization if playing audio" options enabled in the ScreenSaver settings it doesn't stops on rest of the screen savers like MatrixTrails I used. So it must be something I borked on the older version that causes Music to stop on every Screen Saver. Opus I believe is used by Youtube and other online streaming services to save data bandwidth with media playback. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opus_(audio_format) Or I dunno if it's AAC. But if you try to download media from youtube using some applications like Seal for Android then it gives you the option to either save it as .m4a (Which I believe is AAC) and .opus. Opus seems to have slightly better quality at around 156kbps while with m4a you gets 128kbps. Main problem is that I have a couple thousand tracks downloaded in opus and converting them to mp3 or something else take will time and also destroy their metadata (id3 tags on mp3) which I really don't want to. So I was wishing for opus support to be added. And now to two more thingies that just came to my mind: 1.The Face buttons in the UI and bottom bar are no longer colored in the newer version, So I'd like to know that's the file that can be copied back from the older version to get the color back or is it some rgb value in a .xml 2. The music fade out/in when you change tracks via the music player stopped working on my old version when I messed up the settings. It's working fine on the new version So it was one of the reasons why I asked for a way to reset the Music and Video player settings.
  15. I had a lot to ask but my dumb ass forgot to write down everything. So here's what I still have : I tried the new version for a couple of minutes so there are some things I like and don't but I'd post more about it soon. Add an option for Square Profile Pics? Old Loading Icon? (Those square blocks). Because the new one is barely visible on my Composite CRT. Disable artworks in specific folders? I have a folder of shortcuts to launch Doom wads, and disabling Artworks allows me to use custom images/icons via the <thumb> tag in them. So if it would be possible to make this option only take effect in that folder would be great. Here's stuff about the old version (Dunno which I'm running but it should be 1.2/4?.xx) : The music player settings are not in one place in Settings. Some are in Login Screen or some other option (iirc) (Ignore if it's in one place in New update). Way/Option to reset Audio & Video Player settings? Because I borked something in the options and now the Music player doesn't appears when there's Visualizations (Screen Savers) going on. Audio player also stops playback when I press B in Screen Saver Visualizations. Also did something to the video settings and now H246 576x480 and 720x576 playback drops frames. Add Opus Support? There are a lot of tracks I downloaded from Youtube and other sources that are only in .opus/.ogg And last thing (for the moment) is how would I go about editing the entirety of the XBMC4Gamers UI because I wanted to make a Theme/Skin that's suitable for 480i CRTs. (Texts and some windows are too small to read) That's it. Thanks.
  16. I've made several .cut files to launch Doom Wads to play, But now I've got a weird problem where the last file doesn't load in this cut: <shortcut> <path>F:\Homebrew\Odamex_v0.7.0\odamex.xbe</path> <label>DOOM II [A]</label> <thumb>F:\Homebrew\Odamex_v0.7.0\default.tbn</thumb> <custom> <game>-waddir "D:\IWads;D:\PWads\_Addons\Doom 2 Minor Sprite Fixing Project v2.0;D:\PWads\_Addons\Vanilla Smooth Weapons\Extra Fixes by Community\Scuba Steve Fix;D:\PWads\_Addons\Vanilla Brightmaps" -iwad DOOM2.wad -file D2SPFX20.WAD D2DEHFIX.DEH vsmooth.wad SoftFX_32in24_15_tex_v2_cleaned.wad HEADL0_SoftFX.wad</game> </custom> </shortcut> If I move the HEADL0_softFX.wad before SoftFX_32in24_15_tex_v2_cleaned.wad then that loads it, but the last file being "SoftFX_32in24_15_tex_v2_cleaned.wad " doesn't loads. Switching them vice versa only results in the last file not loading. Which is making me think that there's a file limit for the parameters. Here is a preview of the directory of those last files on my XBox: Is this a .cut limitation or Odamex's 0.7.0 limitation in reading the parameters?
  17. @Rocky5I have a bunch of questions and suggestions regarding the new update and some from the old one. Should I put then here or DM them to you on Discord?
  18. Is there a way to check cluster size on some dashboard?
  19. Follor Mr. Mario or ModsvilleUSA's guides on youtube. Iirc they both have guides on this.
  20. @Rocky5Where can I download the latest build of 4Gamers? Should I download the github Repo as a zip? I can't connect my Xbox to internet at the moment so I can't use the Downloader. Also would running an old version alongside the new version cause any problems in their T/UDATA folders? I kind of wanted to try the new version before I overwrite the old one incase something doesn't works for me. Thank you for your incredible work.
  21. No no, I have the DOS Executables that I got way back in around 2008-9 from some site.
  22. For me Odamex v7. 0 is the best way to play Doom on the OGXBox. It has 60 FPS support, can adjust CRT Overscan somewhat, 720i support, supports dex/beh patches and runs pretty much very good even with slightly large wads. I finished Doom Zero just yesterday.
  23. Wdym "ported, From what software"?
