MegaMix
I just purchased a XBox with Xecutor2 and Avalaunch. I wanted to add some of my games to the hard-drive so I followed this video on installing FileZilla and connecting to the Xbox. However, following the steps, it doesn't work. I'm not sure why. I do see that there is any username and password displayed in the Network Menu (ex. 1, 2), but I used the default which is "xbox" for both the username and password. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Any advice would be welcomed.
prtscn
username and password could be blank if previous owner removed it. Rename back to default xbox, xbox, if not sure or try blank.
Aero_105
You can try editing the avalaunch.xml file. From https://avalaunch.net/docs/index.html#cantftp below: I can't seem to FTP into avalaunch, what is wrong with it?? Chances are, nothing. If your network connection to your xbox was working prior to your install of Avalaunch, and your problem consists of the FTP connecting, but not working *exactly* right for whatever reason, then chances are that you aren't using the right username/password combination. Go back and edit the .xml file, and scroll down to the section that looks like this: <user name="Default" password="">, and change the settings to be unique to you. Once you have done this, most users problems will vanish. Another important thing: trying different FTP clients. While CuteFTP works great for some, others have better luck with FlashFXP, or any other personal favorite. Try these things before screaming that our FTP sucks As for FTP client I use WinSCP. Is you network settings configured correctly in FileZilla and the xbox?
MegaMix
I spoke with the guy a purchased this from. He recommended I should buy a "crossover cable" as that's what he said he used. Not sure how much that will help. 14 hours ago, prtscn said: username and password could be blank if previous owner removed it. Rename back to default xbox, xbox, if not sure or try blank. Tried that. Unfortunately it didn't work. 5 hours ago, Aero_105 said: You can try editing the avalaunch.xml file. I also followed the video exactly, so it should be fine.
MegaMix
I managed to find this documentation (1, 2) on how to set Filezilla further and what not. Still doesn't work.
nikeymikey
You shouldn't need a crossover cable if you are going through a router. The crossover was for going directly between an Xbox and a computer. Tbh FIlezilla should just work straight out of the box without messing with settings. You might just need to make sure its limited to one file transferring at a time but that's all. Does your DVD drive work? Do you have the ability to burn a disc? If so then go to the thread below and grab the OGXbox Installer disc, burn a copy of it and run it in your console. Once the disc loads and the menu appears your console should grab an ip and connect. Try to ftp into the console again then. If that works then you know Avalaunch is the problem and can use the installer disc to install a new default dashboard that isn't Avalaunch. I recommend XBMC4Gamers but if you want something simple then go for UnleashX.

Still doesn't work. What are the IP addresses of your PC and Xbox. Even though connected to the same physical network, they have to be on the same subnet to communicate. 192.168.0.xxx and 192.168.1.yyy are not on the same subnet with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. The first three dotted decimal values have to match. For example: PC at 192.168.0.2 then the Xbox has to also be on the 192.168.0.0/24 subnet. So 192.168.0.3 or any other unique IP address on the 192.168.0.0/24 sbunet - 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.254 that is not already in use. You do not have to open up the Xbox. You can edit the file in file manager or file explorer from the avalaunch dashboard. navigate into the C drive and find avalaunch.xml file enter into it check to see if line <user name="Default" password=""> says <user name="xbox" password="xbox"> It takes a bit of programming but should not be too difficult. I am going by what I have read online I haven't tried it myself. Your router is giving the xbox an address just make sure your pc is connected to the router as well. I tried avalaunch as an app with file manager in avalaunch it did not have an edit option so you're best option would be install a new dashboard from a dvd.
