Is it possible to attach Xbox IDE hard drive to a windows 7 or later SATA PC and build the hard drive from a softmodded xbox or do I need to find a really old PC? I know I used a Dell Optiplex years ago but I have it away to a mate a couple of years ago and he doesn't have it anymore. If I need an old PC can anyone recommend a specific spec - as I might have to buy one second hand - thanks in advance.

Hi - I softmodded my xbox original five years ago and didn't use it much because of a house move. I took it out last night and realised that the upgraded 250GB drive is very noisy and sounds like it is dying. I upgraded before using Chimp. I am wondering can I use Chimp again with another 250GB hard drive or does the next hard drive have to be bigger than the 250GB drive? I have looked for an answer on google but all search returns related to upgrading to a larger drive from the stock drive - there doesn't seem to be anything about swapping a drive for another drive that is equal in size. Hey all, On my xbox, I enable 16:9, and it works fine on all the skins I've used, except the xbox spinner on the left included in the default skin and others, looks very narrow, as if instead of spreading wider for 16:9, it is narrower. Is there a fix for that?

I've seen mods that replace the CPU and GPU heatsinks with fan heatsinks (like the Iceberq 4 Pros). I want to do the same thing to my console, but I'm not sure where I could connect them. I have a 1.0 motherboard, so I could use the original CPU fan connector to power one. But where do I power the other? I've seen people use the exhaust fan connector to power one of the fans. How is that done, while still being able to use the exhaust fan too? Could I safely use a 3 pin y splitter on the CPU fan connector to power both CPU and GPU fan heatsinks? Or if I wanted to use a 3 pin splitter for the exhaust fan and GPU fan heatsink, would that be safe as well? Also, I would like to install 2 sets of LED lights. One would be 2 pin and the other would be 4 pin. Where could I connect these to power them safely? Everything is 12 volt. And I would rather not do any soldering. If I have to solder, i would rather it be wire to wire soldering and not directly to PSU or motherboard.

I have an old softmodded Xbox with a 2TB hard drive that is loaded. I just ordered a new Xbox that I will be softmodding. How do I move my 2TB hard drive from the old Xbox to the new one? (I want to keep everything that's on the 2TB hard drive) Please keep it simple. I'm new to this whole modding thing. Detailed step by step would be much appreciated.

Hello all, just got my xbox modded with a 2tb drive and Rocky5's Emustation, looking for some assistance. Most of my roms are running well so far with the exception of N64. Now I know that it is set up to run the N64 set from Earthworm James. Trouble is, I cant find that pack anywhere at all, been searching for days now. I was wondering if anyone here knows where it is or has a link available, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I quess the title says it all. Could someone in simple english tell me how to install xbox skins. I download Kaosengneer 10 skins and can't get them to work. I made a folder names Skins on my E drive FTP'd them in there but they don't show up. Thanks

Hi guys, So I've got a problem just like the title says my Xbox is being weird and not turning off. I've opened it up, removed the clock cap and cleaned up the very minimal corrosion that I could find and gave it a good scrubbing with a soft toothbrush and isopropyl, I've inspected the traces, poked around with my multimeter and have continuity happening and can't see any damage at all even under a magnifier. But I'm getting some odd symptoms that I've read about where I can't turn it off and it opens the dvd drive. Now the reason I find this weird is that it doesn't happen all the time, from a cold boot it's totally fine, but I lose the ability to turn it off only after the xbox has been on for about 30 minutes. Wondering if you guys can think of any other things that could be the problem? Thanks!

Hi all, so I pulled out my og Xbox that's already got evo x on it from years ago but it's old n out dated and I'm wanting to know how can I download a newer bios version and can I install this through ftp or does it have to be through USB ? Hi All, First, my English is khm khm not too good, but I try to explain what is the case. So, I have an Xbox Classic 1.0 which is always turn on when I connect the power cable. It is the first problem, but I can live with it (but if you have an idea why, I will say a big thanks for the answer). Okay, I soldered an Aladdin XT Plus2 in it. It works well, but somehow, the Xbox turned off itself after some minutes. I checked the processors and its cooler and the processor wasn't too hot and cooler worked well. I try to find some other problem, like capacitors or wrong traces but I do not found anything. Anyone has a good idea what can I do with it? :) I'm near to kick out it from window ;) Thank you in advance! BR: Zsolt

Any straight-forward guides to modding an Xbox w/o a specific game?

Dear users, I'm about to tsop a 1.4 Xbox PAL, already own a composite cable, however is very well know that Xbox only display HD options on NTSC, after tsop I'm going to upgrade my HDD through latest hexen 2018, but to make HD options available should I install new NTSC HDD or PAL? I read of a app that changes that on the system what is the best solution for a brand new system? Thanks

Hello, I have been playing OG Xbox since it was new, I recently sold my Xbox 1S as the newer games are too realistic and give me massive anxiety attacks, so I dug my old OG Xbox out of storage and dusted it off. I forgot how much I love the "Duke" controller it is one of the most comfortable controllers I have ever used. some of the Xbox games don't respond well to it, so I have two of the more modern smaller controllers for games like Rainbow Six, or Halo. Lately I have been playing Morrowind and Ninja Gaiden Black. my collection of Xbox games is only 34 right now, but I have a list of about a dozen more to reach what I had when I was a kid. Call me a collector I guess. Anyways, Hellllo, looking forward to being a member here.
