About Me

  1. I dont know if this has been put up on here before, but i came across this during my quest to fix a v1.2 xbox that wont boot. I have at some point managed to bork the hard drive during this quest Any how this webpage shows how to read an eeprom from an xbox using a Pi and a pin header normally used for mounting modchips in an xbox.. I have installed the program on my pi and got everything ready, just waiting for my header wires to arrive and then im goin to give it a go. My thinking is if i can read the xeeprom i can then use xboxhdm2.3usb to rebuild the hard drive and install a softmod. Then hopefully this bastard will boot again Heres the link .... http://icode4.coffee/?p=22

  4. Hello World So I've finally found a Xblast Modchip but... broken one, before buying it, would be happy to hear any advices from the techy folks regarding this situation and what can be done. So seems like the guy who sells it, somehow succeded to crack that U4 chip, and cut a few legs on the Xilinx CPLD, which looks like - they can not be repopulated. The questions are: 1, What chip is U4? 2. Will the new replacement Xilinx XC9572XL CPLD need any firmware? (did not found anything on the xblast repository) 3. Will the SVF from Aladdin Xblast Mod work in this case? (as I know, to launch XBlast bios on Aladdin Modchip, the PLCC32 must have the bios itself, then CPLD also should be written with something) This is how the SVF for Aladdin CPLD LC4032V-XXT44 starts: ! 5. Today I worked on taking apart controllers and cleaning them up. I figured while I was at it I would go ahead and take apart and clean up my remote power button and USB adapter mod too. I made this probably about 12 years ago. I took an Xbox Live communicator apart and replaced the circuit board with a simple breadboard from Radio Shack. I put a USB port where the volume knob used to be and a switch under the mute button. I modded my Xbox with the yellow wire remote power button mod so I wired up the switch as the remote power button. The nice thing about modding this communicator is that I can plug it into any controller and have a remote power button without modding the controller itself. It is also great for softmodding systems by plugging a USB drive directly into the communicator instead of making a USB adapter cable that I would have to search for whenever I work on modding a system.
  6. Softmodded Xbox running Unleash X - 160gb HD (Unsure of model but can retrieve if needed.) Using Startech IDE2SAT2 Converter for cloning process set on Slave 2TB WD Blue Drive WD20EZRZ Once this is cloned successfully I planned on using the Kingwin Model ADP-06 I have swapped IDE cables to the converted sata drive with the Startech Adapter and loaded into Chimp successfully Don't care about games but would like to get saves if possible (The drive is also failing) In Chimp I am cloning out C and E partitions and then selecting "G Occupys Space Beyond 137GB" (New to this so not sure if this is the right option to use.) It completes it's process and I power down the system. But am getting an Error 13 when I plug up the hard drive into the master IDE port with both the startech set as "Master" and the Kingpin on both dip switch settings Am I missing something in this process? Do I need to update my dashboard on my original xbox to make chimp compatible?
  7. I have 5 boxes, two 1.4 rest 1.0-1.1. and during my families quarterly big amazon order "Of Savings" I ordered a few aladdin chips at 3.99 each. At this point i have done more than a few tsop and general softmods. I have Zero fear when it comes to physical installs of components (minus ram. I dont have a hot air station yet.). So is there any benefit to installing the aladdin chip to any of my non 1.6 systems? Even if the benefit is small i am interested as my truer passion with all of this is to create the ultimate best of the best systems.
  8. I just came across PureVPN's Cyber Week Deal offering 88% OFF means $79 on 5-year plan. Deal: https://www.purevpn.com/order I have bought PureVPN's 5-year plan for $79 but I needed a dedicated IP add-on which isn't a part of their deal but it's awesome anyways at 88% OFF.
  9. I have a sofftmodded ver. 1.6 that was modded with an old flash drive I have with s.i.d. 5 on it. It works great and I don't want to format and lose all the movies, music, games etc. however i would like to null the hard drive to future proof it in case this hard drive dies so I can move to a large 2tb drive at that time .Is that possible?
  10. So I was wondering if this was possible. I remember MANY years ago when I was a kid fucking up my xbox dash and fixing it by transferring a softmodded E/C by Xplorer360. Would this work on a virgin xbox? To be clear: hotswap virgin xbox hdd to PC, open in xplorer 360, transplant softmodded C/E, boot xbox (should boot into unleashx). I swear I remember doing this to an xbox with a broken disk drive too. Does anyone know for a fact? It seems 10x easier than Ndure and shit. Also if anyone has a tutorial for modding an xbox with only IDE PC please let me know. thanks also if someone could upload their softmodded E/C from a PAL xbox or if it doesnt matter either. excluding emulators/games etc etc of course
  11. Hello everyone, I just acquired a XBox with 128Mb and 1.4GHz (thanks to N64Freak in passing for his great work and availability). I am very satisfied but being used to NDure and NKPatcher to play the game in ISO format, Having a first XBox (softmod) with 2Tb and all games / homebrews in XISO format (faster FTP transfer, take less space on the hard drive ...), I will obviously want the same thing on this new console. Apparently, the bios is "x2_4983.67.bin" but I do not have a file "x2config" on C. According to your answers, I have to flash my bios with the "ind-bios 5003.67" and then put the file configuration "ind-bios.cfg" at the root of C like this: 480P=1 ; Default=0 USEUSEALLMEMORY=1 ;Use 128mb of Ram if Available Default=0 IGRLOADSDASH=1 ;Load Dashboard on IGR Default=0 IGRMODE=1 ;IGR Mode 0=off 1=compatible 2=quick Default=2 DEFAULTXBE=\Device\CDrom0\default.xbe DASH1=\Device\CdRom0\default.xbe DASH2=\Device\Harddisk0\Partition1\Apps\Patcher\Patcher.xbe DASH3=\Device\Harddisk0\Partition1\dashboard\default.xbe That's OK? Then where to find the patch? I saw in "CDROM modchip.rar" a folder "Kernel Patcher", it is this file? Where should I create it with "make_with_listing.bat"? Thank you in advance for your answers.
  12. Another OG xbox softmod with 1.1 MoBo. Comes with one controller, composite cable, dvd dongle and remote. Has: Unleash X (main dash) XBMC Coinops Massive SNES box with all roms Surreal64 (all roms) $125 shipped anywhere in the US
  13. I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in repair, but since it happened during a TSOP mod I though I'd try here first. Picked up a 1.4 version at a Salvation Army today, green model worked great but filthy inside. Cleaned it up, removed clock capacitor and did the two TSOP points. Reassembled and before I even load into Hexen my video signal has lines going across the screen. After messing around I find that the problem is only with component output (hd output) and standard def av works fine. Thing is, component worked fine before I disassembled so I'm convinced the problem must have been caused by something I did - but all I did was pull the clock cap and do the 2 tsop points... Tried another component cable.. same result. Tried another tv, got a glitched looking display or 'mode not supported'. I'm convinced it's now outputting some garbled attempt at an hd signal that neither of my tvs can process correctly. Have 2 other xboxes and both display hd perfect with the same cables and tvs. I guess I can just sell it with some standard cables but losing the hd kinda kills the awesomeness so I'd really like to fix this if possible. This is like the second weird obscure xbox mystery for me in like a week, sheesh:)
  14. I recently received an original modded Xbox. I bought a Pelican brand arcade stick to use with the 1000+ arcade games that were included. The trouble I’m having is that the system freaks out when I plug the arcade stick in. Things either freeze or games/emulators don’t load at all. It will work for a little while with the Xbox games loaded on there before freezing and it will work perfectly fine on a non modded Xbox. My only guess is that it’s because it can’t do the same control actions like on a regular controller, so maybe the system gets confused. That’s kind of a wild guess though. Anyone have this problem or any idea on what’s causing it?
  15. Hello All I have a x3 modded v1.2 xbox that i have upgraded with a 2tb drive. I am trying to ftp games to it but after a while it will stop and give me errors like file not found using flashfxp or filezilla. I have tried with static ip and dchp also with router and direct using (crossover cable) from my pc and a laptop. The process gets to a certain point then errors, i've been trying for days with no luck. any suggestions more than welcome. Thanks

  20. I wonder if anyone can help me with this. It seems the Xbox is crashing when accessing www.crusaders.no (which no longer exists). I've managed to turn off RSS feeds but it makes no difference. It's a real pain as I can't ftp into the xbox because it crashes before I can establish a connection. It works fine when ethernet is disconnected. Thanks for any help.
  21. Hello Folks, I try to intsall a XBIT 1.5 Chip in a 1.6b console. I was having a pretty bad time, since most of the information is gone due to forums and websites are not available in 2018 anymore... But thanks to the wayback machine, I managed to get some information about the installation process of the chip. Well, it looks like that the chip is/was only compatible to v1.0 to 1.5 and the 1.6 revision was not out when this chip was released (I've read somewhere, that there is a 1.6 adaptor board). Anyway, thanks to google, I found out that it should be possible to use that chip in a 1.6 console, but I'm unsure if they used the 1.6 adaptor. After rebuilding the LPC port, I installed the chip as usual (Double checked the pinouts from thechip and the LPC port), left d0 unconnected since I've read, that this is not necessary on 1.6 consoles and performed a LFRAME cut. I flashed evolution-x m8 1.6b bios to the chip with a virutal installation of windows xp (the softwate really sucks and won't work on WIN10...) Well, all I get is the christmas light (Console turning on and off 3 times and flashes red/green) without any video signal. If I bridge the LFRAME signal with tweezeers, the console boots as usual. This either means, that either the connection between the console and the chip is wrong or the chip is broken and I don't know how to find that out. I tried multiple thing, like reconnectnig the LFRAME, soldering in D0, used the 1.5 pinout for soldering, used the 1.6 soldering (but without the adaptor). At the time, I think the chip is broken, because flashing works, but validating the files gives me an error. As said before, I read on a german forum, that you can actually use any not 1.6 compatible chip with a 1.6 console by cutting the LFRAME and not connecting the d0 point. Won't work for me Has anyone some tips, help, suggestion for me? Thanks in advanve!
  22. My brother has a few 3tb sata drives with some smart errors. I would like to use them in some xboxes. The drives work fine in the pc, but not for data centers anymore. How would a xbox react to these? As the are not running full days, will it go?
  23. Ok here is the story. My brother just gave me his old xbox. It has been hard modded a while ago. It is a version 1.4 with a windbond TSOP. It is currently running Evolution x 3921. I have installed bios checker 5.0 and it says the bios is unknown. Also the MS dashboard can not be loaded. I would love to update this. What would be the order to do this. I read somewhere to run the krayzie one click soft mod installation, which would update the soft mod. Do I then just re-flash the tsop with the 256 EvoX M8+. I do have hexen 2017 disc. Thanks
