Hi I’m new here, just signed up. I’m hoping I can get my Xbox fixed. the problem is my Xbox doesn’t turn on all the way when I have my component OR composite cables plugged in, it turns on, briefly shows orange, then shuts off but when I unplug the video and turn it on the Xbox seems fine? (But no video of course) I’ve looked at the model date and it’s a 1.6b. I have a picture of the clock capacitor and to me it seems fine though I’m kinda new to this sorta thing. Can my Xbox be fixed? Is there some other issue with it? (It IS softmodded with UnleashX installed) Thank you

So I paid to preorder an XOSVP like 7 months ago and never heard a word from Darren. I emailed him about a month later with no response. I just emailed him again like 4 days ago with no response. Has anyone dealt with this guy or does anyone have any advice on how to handle the situation?

I'm trying to forward and FTP session to my xbox using a raspberrry pi running psx-pi-smbshare. I've followed all the instructions given on the github readme. Has anyone had any success with this?

Hey. I got a question. I have a 1.4 xbox tsop flashed with the x2 5035 F&G bios file. All runs fine, but the g drive shows no files. I can copy files on this partition, delete it and so on. With the x2 49.. Bios it shows all folders (hombrew, games etc) But the x2 5035 will not show these files Exactly the same happens with the ind 5004 bios.

Hello everyone, first off all, excuse for my English as I am Brazilian I just got an Og Xbox 1.0 with Xecuter2 and I'm still learning a lot about this beauty but I have a problem and maybe someone here can help me. I was browsing the forum but found nothing on this specific matter. The Xbox works fine except for one thing: the controller keeps disconnecting. It came with some 3rd party controllers and an adapter for PS2 controllers, so no original controller for me. The funny thing is that when it disconnects I only can make it work again when I wrap the cable around the controller and make my way unpluging and pluging it back. Someone told me that it could be caused by a faulty cable on the controllers but I checked the cables with a multimeter and they appear to work fine. The PS2 adapter sometimes work and sometimes do not work, but the LED on the adapter is always on. I also disassembled the box for cleaning and to take off the clock capacitor (that was leaked btw), time when I also checked the daughterboard to see if it was faulty, and it was not. Given the situation, I can only think of two options: 1. the 3rd party controllers and adapter are really crappy and don't work fine with the console and I should get an original controller; or 2. my daughterboard is defective and should be replaced. I don't think there's a software problem here but since all things related to Og Xbox are completely new to me, I can be wrong. Anyways, the help I want/need is to try to find a way to discover the problem since Og Xbox parts or controllers are really not easy or cheap to find in Brazil... Cheers

Purchased a Xbox V 1.0 that has the Xecuter X3 mod chip, unit wouldn't even boot at time i received it ( sorry been otta this for like forever and just getting back into it ). After numerous trials and errors i finally got it to boot up, switch configuration on front. Anyways seems like its missing the backup that should be on the mod chip itself, doesn't seem to matter what i try cannot find it, other problem is it only stays on maybe 45 mins and shuts down, i think its a power supply issue, going to try another power supply this weekend since i do have a good replacement for this version. Other issues is cannot turn unit on with power button, only with the eject button, also another weird issue is when its first plugged in it comes on without touching any button on the front, lots of strange issues going on here, maybe someone may have a bit of insight to help resolve these problems. First thing i did was remove clock cap, had leaked a little but not bad at all, area around it got a very good cleaning and looks great

I was trying to transfer games through FTP using FileZilla in Linux Mint 19.3 to my Soft Modded Xbox which has a 1TB WD SATA HDD (model: WD10JPVX). I configured the Xbox Network settings to a maximmum of 5 users and FileZilla to 4. Every time I tried to tranffer a file, the user counter on the Xbox went up to 5 and FileZilla started showing errors. So I booted Windows 10 with FileZilla. Still, had the same problem. Anyway, I deleted a Game Folder (4gb) from the "G" partition. Suddenly the Message Log window started showing a list of errors. When it finish, I went to the "Games" section on the Xbox and there where no games and the "G" partition which is about 800GB (I believe), had only 4GB free. So I though the the partition was corrupted. I decided to go to the format menu on UnleashX and format the "G" partition. After formating, the "G" partition sowed its true size. So I used "WinSCP" instead of FileZilla to transfer the files. Everyhting was good. It did transfer a lot of games, till I got an error: "Copying files to remote side failed. /G/Games/filename* Directory not found. At this point I had 560 GB free in the "G" partition. Someone suggested to do a clean install and wipe the disk. So I followed a youtube tutorial by Mr. Mario. Put the stock HDD back, Hot Swap the 1TB HDD as slave, started Chimp 261812 and it said that the slave hdd (1TB softmodded) was lock. So I tried to unlock the HDD with all the options given by Chimp and it remain lock. The options were: Unlock... From Motherboard From /tmp/eeprom.bin From Master password: XBOXSCENE From Master Password: TEAMASSEMBLY From /tmp/hddkey.txt So I retrieve the Stock HDD and put the 1TB Back in and... now the xbox wont boot. It says: Service required. Call Customer Service. I don't know if the HDD is faulty... I tried to run a test by putting the HDD into my laptop but it ask for a HDD Master Password and tried XBOXSCENE and TEAMASSEMBLY but they were invalid. I don't know what elese to do. Don't know how to unlock it or if its Faulty at this point. Should I buy a 2TB at this point? I don't know which 2TB model would work...

Hi, just wondering if anyone can help me regarding connecting my Xbox one to my internet via a wired connection ( Ethernet cable ) we have recently just moved to new house and since then I’m able to use a wired connection wireless is NOT fine, there is nothing wrong with the Ethernet cable as it allows me to use it on internet. I have spoken to the house’s landlord it is service provider Bell (I am in CA) and they told me there was a few steps I could follow online and make my own server designated to my Xbox one, however they want me to purchase their router from them with password? I want to use my own router (as I have one Netgear) & settings that make my own server and at the end however it kept saying unable to connect due to no valid IP address, before I went into my router settings the Ethernet on its own works for xbox but not for my Playstation 3 with the same error msg no valid ip address found(when connected ethernet cable to PS3) ? Any help towards this would be appreciated cheers.

I bought a used Xbox. It seems to be functioning. I removed the clock capacitor. However I found these capacitors to be slightly corroded. I cleaned it lightly with Isopropyl alcohol. (Not sure if that was a good idea). What should I do? Should I replace these capacitors. I believe this is a 1.2 revision. It was made Oct 2003. So not sure. By the way let that be known in case it hasn't happened to anyone. That other capacitors may be starting to go bad.

Hi all, I’ve just noticed that the blue leds are not lighting up on my X3 control panel bios bank switch buttons. They should light up blue when pressed in (on). Anyone come across this before? Know how I can fix it?? Ill take it apart and see if theres a lose cable cable or similar but that won’t be for a few days....

Hey everyone, Iv been been dealing with my modchip LCD basicly spazzing/glitching/messing up displaying its content all wrong since always.here are some picture examples. the XBMC im using is 3.5 beta . now this doesnt happen at first, it also wont occur in the smarttXX OS,nor will it occur if im browsing through the menus of XBMC, it takes about 2-5 minutes of idle beofore it starts. then it progressivly gets worse, eventually it just blanks out completely. which for it to work again i either need to restart XBMC or turn it off and on in the settings before it just does it again.. now i've troubleshooted this issue quite a bit on multiple seperate occasions, i can confirm its not just a faulty modchip, unless by some crazy coincidence, both my chips are faulty, they are both smartXX chips one is a V2 the other is an LT OPX, Ive also ruled out it being the LCD screen,iv hooked both chips up to different LCD's, im gonna rule out a faulty Xbox motherboard aswell considering both modchips are installed on different boards, both are v1.4's not sure that really matters though, and the soldering is all good, Iv updated both Chips to the latest smarttXX OS which happens to be 3403, i came from a 33somthing this was actually my most recent attemp at fixing this issue. no luck, Now i remember reading that XBMC at some point stopped caring about the LCD support (they didnt remove it but possibly broke it, and never fixed it), obviously it was pretty niche then, making it even more niche now, but i know people out there have this mod, and hopefully at least a few of you are here.. so this set me on a journey, to modify the "lcd.xlm" file, now i played around with it, basicly just removing/duplicating code into different areas, removing lines ect,i really didnt have any luck in making it not glitch out, there doesnt seem to be a way to leave lines blank, i copied the whole "navigation" layout into all the others, it seems to make it glitch out a little less which is somewhat of an improvement but at the same time not really because if left idle for to long it just crashes and displays nothing. it seems like "unknown" and XBMC are fightting for the first 2 lines of the LCD when idle, or maybe XBMC is fighting with itself for the first 2 lines, it switchs back and fourth from what the the LCD.XLM wants it to display and what "Unknown" wants it to display. for example. XBMC wants GPU TEMP-CPU TEMP FREE RAM-HDD TEMP Unkown wants GPU TEMP-CPU TEMP- FAN SPEED FREE RAM-HDD TEMP (though this is completely unreadable its usually just "[.........]" right as XBMC boots it displays the "Unknown"(see picture below) before the screen fills up normally , then the 2 lines fight, back and fourth, being readable before they start to jumble to help rule out the modchip fighting with the XBMC over what the LCD displays, i turn off the LCD in the SmarttXX OS (which should disable it alltogether) but it still comes on after it boots into XBMC (if i have it enabled), If i turn it off in XBMC and leave it on in the smarttXX OS, after a it boots into XBMC i get GPU TEMP-CPU TEMP- FAN SPEED which is how i leave it because at least it works properly, but its nice have the whole screen full rather then just 1 line it will also do this while playing games. whether the LCD is off or on in either location. for what thats worth. I decided to dig into the source code of XBMC, but since i know nothing about C++ or python, i didnt find anything that pointed twords LCD but im not to sure what im looking at to begin with, but i did find "NoseFartXBMC" which is an app of some kind anyways has anyone had any trouble with their modchip LCD's? if so did you ever fix it? if not what are you using? (chip,Dash,Dash version) any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated,

I have used xboxhdm23 beta by Rocky5 to create an xbox hdd from scrtach using the nulled eeprom from my xbox. The program also copied over the files for the c drive which in this case are the installer files for Rockys softmod. When i put the drive in the xbox and boot it up all i get is an error 13 (dash error), i have verified that the files are indeed in the c drive on the hdd but the installer (xboxdash.xbe) does not load. Have i done something wrong somewhere? Also, as the eeprom was nulled that was used to lock this drive, in theory this hdd should be able to be installed in any xbox with a nulled eeprom, is that correct??

Hi, I upgraded my xbox to a 1TB sata drive but I can only see 123gb. I understand I need to update the bios on the modchip I have which I believe is an Xecuter 2.3 lite. I tried using Hexen to upgrade to x2.4981 but I get the message !!Flash Not Writeable!! This happens if I have the switch set to protect or unprotect, Bank 1 or Bank 2. I downloaded a copy of x2.5035 so I could go with that version outside of Hexen, but I don't know how to do that. Please could someone assist me. Thank you.

Ok guys got an issue that is getting on my wick. Slapped a 2.3b Lite into a 1.6, used a clone LPC Rebuild Kit and proceeded to boot the console. D0 was connected to the board and ground was connected to the screw hole as usual. As soon as you put power to the console it will boot up then reset 2 times before FRAGGING. Only when D0 is connected and chip is off. With chip on with M8 1.6 Bios I can get a boot with Evo shield but it hangs after that and still turns on as soon as a power cord is plugged in. Front panel doesn't work at all. Remove the chip or D0, and it'll boot fine to the original softmod it came from. I've reworked it with my iron, even given it a hot air rework. Which point is most likely the culprit? Apologies on the lead free solder. Was using a friends over my own.

Sorry for the terrible quality picture. So, I'm using a Hyperkin HDMI-AV cable, and the dash is scaling the centerpiece very oddly. It's still working properly, but icons for apps and games seem to face to the right significantly. Is it because the aspect ratio has changed to 16:9 and 1080i support is on? It's not causing any issues with usability, but it looks really weird. Anyone else have the same issues?

Hi, First time modder here having some issues with the setup after upgrading the hdd. I have a modchipped v1.6 OG XboX and set it up with a 160 GB IDE hdd using the Hexxen 2018 disc. I also switched to a 80-pin IDE cable. The install went well, and I have uploaded games via ftp and can play them from the hdd. I then created a Emulator folder on E:\ and put a N64 emulator there (Surreal64CE B6.0), and the roms in the Roms folder, but the Emulators-'tab' is not showing when starting the XboX. I installed XBMC from the Hexxen 2018 disc, but there is nothing showing under the System\Emulators tab in XBMC. Also the display in XBMC is too large for the tv-screen, and changing the options (Normal/Widescreen/Letterbox) does nothing. The bullet options for 460, 720 and so on in XBMC display settings are greyed out, and I cannot use them. This is also true for the display settings in the XboX Admin/Settings in the dash which shows up when I start the XboX, but I got a correct display after disabling Pal-60. Last, I am not able to set a static IP address when switching from DHCP to static. I can input the new IP, but when I click OK, it still says IP: 0.0.0.0. The display and ftp issues are not serious per se, but I would like it all to be in working order, and not being able to play the emulators is a bummer. I have bought a 2TB hdd, and am currently waiting for a Startech IDE to Sata adapter to arrive, and was hoping to have it all working when upgrading to the Sata disk. My option now is to try the whole procedure again and see, but don't know if it will make any difference... Can anyone please help point me in the right direction to get it all working as I would like? -Thank you.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue? I have an Xbox console v1.6 with an xecuter3 CE chip in it. I have formatted the drive using the x3 bios utility, and transfered over UnleashX v0.39 to the C drive. It does boot into UnleashX, but when I try to FTP files to it using FileZilla, the directories seem to be named weird with the date in front of them. So fileZilla tells me that the directory is not found... I have attached a screenshot. Please let me know what you think, it is much appreciated!

Hello everyone! I was hoping to get some help with my old modded Xbox. I used to have a pretty good library of backed up games, and I cannot remember if a patcher as needed to get the games ready for playing. I've been using ImgBurn to get my ISO images burnt (the same program I've been using since i first did my mod) and for some reason the Xbox recognizes the disc as data and freezes instead of allowing me to play them..I'm trying to make my friend relive the same joy on Conker: Lie and Reloaded and my original copy is too scratched up! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your time

Hey guys, New to OG Xbox modding and I'm having an issue trying to boot the Hexen CD. I have an Aladin XT Pro 2 (I think - See Pics) and in an attempt to upgrade the hard drive i have replaced the stock drive with an 80GB IDE drive. I was then hoping to boot to the Hexen CD to rebuild the drive. I know each HD is locked with a Key but should it be possible to boot to the Hexen CD and rebuild using the tools there? The problem I'm having is when booting with power button to allow it to boot the Evo X dash etc it still gives me Error 07. I have put in the Hexen CD and rebooted again in to the Evo X and it still doesn't recognise the disc. I am yet to test the DVD drive to see if its a problem with it reading discs but thought i would get some feedback from you guys first. Thanks for any input David
