  1. Try going down to the update tab and update downloader. That's worked for me.
  2. Jet Set Radio Future Jewel or or Megaman Servbot Jewel? Whichever one I choose I'll be making a slim build with the color theme.
  3. I know this is old. Another way is to get lense dye for sun glasses with the color you are looking for. The dye is usually boiled and the shell put inside. (Make sure you know what's temps the plastic can take without deforming). ↓watch his video, he does it. Watch the whole video, he makes mistakes and then finally figures out a good method.
  4. Alright let's try it this way. I am doing an Xbox slim mod. Essentially cutting off the area in the disk drive to make the Xbox slimmer because it's too big. A person on the forum told me an effective way to keep it cool is to cut a hole in the Jewel and add a fan. I've also seen videos on YouTube where another modder made holes in his case, added mesh, and a second fan to keep it cool. If anyone has done a slim mod, and hasn't had to add an extra fan, please let me know. That way I won't waste my time and any more money adding an additional fan.
  5. I'd like to add one to bring cool air in and one to pull hot air out. I just want to know if a second fan is necessary for a slim mod, and if it is, what my options are.
  6. I use an Android phone and an app called cx file explorer to FTP and it works well for me.
  7. As far as I see I don't really know any benefits to getting a larger capacity drive unless you are soft modded. People usually use the larger capacity to store games/emulator's and maybe videos/movies if you are still into using the Xbox as a media center. Otherwise a larger capacity drive is very unlikely to benefit you. As far as SSD, it can be faster but I think that all upgrades are slowed down by the IDE to SATA interface. If game saves are the issue, then I'd suggest to transfer them to memory cards or a USB thumb drive. I also believe there is a dashboard that you can install after soft modding that is essentially the OEM Microsoft dashboard. So I guess you could softmod, upgrade the hard drive, and then install the OEM dashboard and ignore the fact your console is modded. Is there something holding you back from softmodding?
  8. So... Should I add a second fan or just leave the system as is when I do the slim mod? has anyone had there system overheat/get damaged?
  9. Where on the board can I solder a 3 pin socket?
  10. I am considering building an og xbox slim through the usual method of cutting out the disk drive area. has anyone experienced heating issues with their slim models? Please let me know.

    Capacitor Issues

Do you happen to know what kinds of capacitor of Xboxes use? Any vid with info on this?

    Capacitor Issues

I bought a used Xbox. It seems to be functioning. I removed the clock capacitor. However I found these capacitors to be slightly corroded. I cleaned it lightly with Isopropyl alcohol. (Not sure if that was a good idea). What should I do? Should I replace these capacitors. I believe this is a 1.2 revision. It was made Oct 2003. So not sure. By the way let that be known in case it hasn't happened to anyone. That other capacitors may be starting to go bad.
  13. Hello Everyone I am looking to do a slim xbox mod. I noticed some people add two fans to their xbox slim systems to keep the system cool. TechnoOnTop on youtube for example put mesh over holes he had cut on the top of his case and added a second fan. Does anyone know if this is necessary. And if so, are there good splitters to connect both fans to the motherboard. I was thinking something like this. https://www.amazon.com/JBtek-Black-Sleeved-Splitter-Converter/dp/B01EF9OI0O/ref=asc_df_B01EF9OI0O/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309707619534&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10057312173843895006&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9004252&hvtargid=aud-801381245258:pla-760665316512&psc=1 Please give me feedback on temperatures and cooling on an og xbox slim. What has worked for others who have done this?
  14. Where did you get that eject button ?
