I've used the cerbios ogxbox installer and loaded emulator disks after ftping to xbox as have no dvd drive. I have dropped my top 100 snes, megadrive and pc enigine roms into the specific rom folders , they scan and play fine. I am struggling to get any neo geo emulator working as won't discover roms or thinks emulator is not installed. I have some reading and think i need to use final burn, and may need a dat file with roms specifically named in it. Had anyone got this all set up and can share the files and where need to dump them etc. As long as have a but of metal slug and andros dunos. I have full rom set just struggling to get it all working. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

This is an odd one. Various Emuxtras video collections have been causing me issues with Madmab emulators, some preview videos play, others lock up the Xbox, if I delete all the ones that lock up the emulator the Xbox is fine, it will play 90% of the videos, as soon as it hits one it doesn't like it locks up. I've been on this problem for a couple of weeks or more. I found installing the latest emulator versions has helped sometimes with some emulators, and they no longer lock playing preview videos, others still lock up such as the Colecovision emulator, NeoGensPlusGX and the PSX emulator. On some of the Madmab emulators it won't even acknowledge there are any videos in the video folder, it will just leave the video preview window blank but will still lock up if I hit a game with a known lockup video. Another thing, there was a non-calibrated controller joystick problem with aftermarket controllers causing freezing on some of the emulators, I was using an aftermarket controller so was affected by this, updating versions or just plugging in my stock controller resolved this freezing problem scrolling the menus. All that did is complicated my problem even worse before I saw in the changelogs that was a problem so I was aware of it and could establish when that was the cause of the freezing. At first, I thought perhaps corrupted videos, but today I proved that wrong by removing the HDD from my 1.6 Xbox and putting it into my 1.1 Xbox, suddenly the problem is entirely gone, all preview videos work fine on every emulator. Now I'm totally confused, it's not a software problem, unless it's a 1.6 compatibility problem I'm not aware of, it's a Pal 1.6 Crystal Limited edition Xbox, all new capacitors and no known hardware problems, without the preview videos all emulators work well as do all Xbox Games. Even if my skin isn't set to play the preview videos if the videos are in the folder and I scroll the games it will lock on the games that have the videos that seem to cause the problem. If I change the time that it starts to play the preview video from half a second to 5 seconds or more I can scroll the menu without it locking up, as long as I don't pause on one of the bad game's that I know their video locks it up. If I just disable where it has the option to play movies in the emulator it never locks up. I thought I'd reach out and see if anyone else has encountered this, it would be odd my 1.6 has a fault that only causes freezing in emulators when playing video previews and it works perfectly elsewhere. I spent about a week FTPing all the contents of the 6tb hard drive in it to another Xbox, it didn't freeze once being left on all that time doing the FTP. It gets countless days of gameplay with no freezing. It's running a mod chip with Cerbios 242 on a red Startech adapter, the hard drive in it is brand new and perfectly fine, tested with WD Daigs on a long test. I'm at the point of giving up on this one but thought I'd ask first. My next test I guess is another 1.6 XBox with the same HDD and see if it acts the same. -

Any help on how I go about adding multi disc games for the PSX emulator while still having the menu only show the single game and artwork for it as a selection? Would I just name a single folder after the game and have the various ISO's inside it? Since the only way the art will attach is if the file is named the same as the artwork. I can't seem to find a decent guide for making this work.

Hello Fellow XBOX Gamers. I am looking for the latest version of DOSXBox for XBOX and believe it might be v13 as seen in photos: DOSXBox 286/386 PC Emulator port for XBox v13. Forgive my ignorance but are we not supposed to mention GAMES or ROMS as I am looking for some place to find some GAMES 2 PLAY. Does any one know of such a place? Tanx.

Hey guys, so anyways I just got nxdk setup already on my windows laptop, but I want to write an emulator for the Xbox badly but how do I go from there? What programming languages does nxdk support? Should I write a basic emulator just to learn sdl2 or port a existing emulator over?

Hi folks, I know what you're gonna say. And you're probably right... but... I've just dropped about £50 (inc delivery) on a ZALMAN ZM-VE200 SE... This is a hard drive caddy, USB powered, with eSATA data connection, that will spoof as an optical drive, and let you mount .iso files stored on an internal SATA drive. It was probably a waste of money, and my 2TB drive is perfectly happy... BUT I wanna give it a go! Hardmodded, running EvoX m8+ (with LBA48 and F&G). eSATA to sata (HDD gender not mobo gender) cable ordered. Gonna use a SATA to IDE adapter (with a SLAVE switch). Gonna try leaving the OGXbox DVD drive in place (with a Xbox disc in the drive, just disconnect the IDE), and connecting the IDE to the Zalman (via the eSATA to SATA, SATA to IDE SLAVE adapter - yuk!) I'm gonna power the SATA to IDE adapter via a molex splitter, and power the ZALMAN via an external USB brick. It probably won't work, but... it... might???????? What's your thoughts anyone? Wish me luck - I'll report back in a couple of months when all the cables and crap arrive from China into brexit-bound UK and when I get a couple of hours away from real life to mess around with it all...

I've been trying to find any artwork pack with covers and fanart for Xbox emulators themselves (not for games) and haven't had any luck. Everytime I find something that looks promising, the link is dead, Google drive access is restricted, etc. Does anyone have a collection like this or a link to one they'd be willing to share?

So I was looking back into Xbox emulation to see how it has progressed, and Xemu claims it can play 62% of the games library now. I was reading up on how it works and you can command line load an iso, but it doesn't support compressed isos so I'm not interested in that method. It does also support Xbox hard drive images however, and custom dashes. I'm curious if anyone has used xboxhdm to create a hard drive image with one of the hard drive ready rom sets out there and a custom dash to play them in Xemu? Xemu doesn't specifically piece this all together for you on the website, but it seems that should work. Either way I'm going to try it, but just didn't know if anyone knows.

Hey y’all, I have softmodded og Xbox for 3 months ago and up untill today snes emulation was fine (nba jam, contra etc..) Today when I was playing contra iii the sound started lagging noticably -also the music and sounds scatter a bit or play twice instead of once. I tried rebooting and removing and replacing the rom. Didn’t work? Does anyone know what the cause of this problem is? is it fixable? thank you so much if you’re willing to help.

I have just FTP'd CoinOps 8 over to my newly mod chipped Xbox but there is no Emulator option in the menu so I can't load it. I can see an option to 'format' menu but it asks for a password to be entered to access it. Also I have 'HeXEN tools' and 'Ndure tools' but these too require passwords, although these require pressing buttons in the correct order. Is there any commonly used passwords I can try to use or should I contact the seller I purchased the modchip off about this? -
I've heard the RAM upgrade does boost the emulators running better. However what emulators benefit the most from this? Playstation / N64? Is there anyone who has done this and can confirm or show a performance boost for Playstation emulation?

I am curious if anyone else has run into this issue. I have created several icons for XBMC and they all work/look great (at least in my opinion), except for the one for NINJA. I have tried different image files as well as clearing the program thumbnail cache and the same thing happens. I can change the icon so I see a different one, but it is always cut in half. The file sizes, demensions, dpi, etc all match the ones that don't show this behavior. I am at my whits end on this one! Examples of the icons and then how they look within XBMC:

I've softmodded my first xbox and I upgraded the HDD and I've heard about the wonders of Emulators, Homebrew ect ect, now I'm wondering where do I download emulators lets say for the N64 or Sega Genesis? All help is appreciated.

Hello, after testing emustation and XBMC4gamers i decided to go with the latter. The only thing left to do is for me to find the artwork (poster, fanart) for all the emulators. All i'have right now is xbox emulator resources. Need to find the old atari, coleco, ect.... Hopefully a pack like Resources4XBMC v1.0. Also, how do i change the background main menu background like in the youtube videos?

I copied some emulators through ftp to the G partition of my HDD, I was using WinSCP for this. When I finished, I closed the connection and then reset my Xbox with Lt+Rt+Back+Black; I got the Bios screen, the UnleashX boot screen (I'm using a custom skin, so the skin version of the boot screen appeared) and then...nothing, just a black screen. First I thought the video was bad, but that was not the case, then I tried to boot on safe mode but nothing happened. Some people on a subreddit tell me to use Hexen to install another dashboard, I don't know if this is going to work tho. Please, if you know what's wrong with my Xbox let me know, I'm scared

Good afternoon everyone. I'm putting games and emulators on my Xbox, I downloaded coinOPS and it has a lot of cool games on it, specially arcade games for a lot of hours of fun. Now I'm looking for an emulator of PSX and N64. I tried the PCSXBOX_v.23 with Vigilante 8 and Vigilante 8 2nd offense and it goes really, really slow. I changed some parameters of the emulator and there isn't improvement in the emulation. Anyone knows a better emulator or the correct configuration to play these games?

Hey I have another newbie question. I can't seem to figure it out, when playing the emulators such as SNES or SegaCD, I apply filter options to them to make them look better, I use save states to continue progress, etc. But Everytime I reload that emulator I have to keep reapplying the filters, is there a way to save your settings or is this something I will have to do each playthrough? Thanks.

So I've been searching around for good emulator/folder icons for my Xboxes. I ran into a thread on this site with a google drive by xbmcmodsforxbox loaded with great artwork. It didn't quite have all the systems I needed so I thought I'd share with the community what I found and made for it. It's a really nice looking icon pack. Hopefully someone else here will enjoy it as well. I added a couple ones I edited for CoinOps, Ninja, and separating Xbox games alphabetically.
