  1. It looks soft modded and I suspect the Xbox was repaired by Microsoft going by the sticker on the HDD and you will probably fine there is a sticker over the top of the 2 warranty stickers. Add 2 links to the board and flash the onboard bios chip, Then fit the new 2tb HDD and use a installer disk to setup the new HDD. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  2. Once you have setup the HDD then load the installer disk and look in the live apps section, there is a program called XBpartitioner 1.3 load that and it will show all the drives, there will probably be a ER on partition 6 and or 7 Start by pressing B to distribute the space of partitions 6 and 7 evenly the highlight partition 6 and the D-Pad right to reduce the size by 2gb (925.76gb) and repeat for partition 7, Now press the start button to format the HDD. When the format is complete you need to power cycle the Xbox (power off then on) and reload the XBpartitioner 1.3 and highlight partition 6 (F drive) and increase the size using the D-Pad left to 927.76gb and repeat for partition 7 (G Drive) and press start to format. The reason for doing this way is there is a bug in the XBpartitioner program. Now you can start to copy your games to the HDD. 3. I have seen that with some old Aladdin chip's and normally a bios update fixed it. Make sure the Sata2ide adaptor is set to Master and not CS (Cable Select)you could also try a different 80way 40 pin IDE cable from a different supplier and I would also try a different brand of DVD drive as well. 4. How quick are you expecting it to boot? I tested a 1.2/3 that got a Open Xenium with the X2 5035.67 as the default boot bios and using a fully loaded 3tb HDD running XBMC4Gamers (800 plus games and Coinops with a Chinese sata2ide and the power on to ready to select a game was on average 30 seconds. Maybe it's time to hard mod it and go back to a non SSD. I disagree with this, If you can here a new HDD over the fan in a Xbox from around 3 or 4 feet you have better hearing than most and recant reports are now saying that a the life expectancy of a SSD is not any longer than a normal hard drive. https://www.ontrack.com/en-au/blog/how-long-do-ssds-really-last Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  5. A hard modded and soft modded system do not play nice with each other and when you use the fix boot problems option on the OGXbox installer disk on the soft modded drive it would have removed the soft mod and that's fixed it for the hard-modded Xbox but it's upset the drive for the soft modded Xbox. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  6. Sounds like you have trace damage from a leaking clock cap. The 4 thin traces along the front in the red rectangle are the power and LED control lines and and the thin traces in the yellow are for control port's 1 and 2 And just on the top right corner of the yellow box is the clock cap. Can you post a pic of the bottom of your main board. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  7. Now test for power at the 12 pin plug with the mains connected The blue wire marked PowOK should have around 3.3 volt and the brown should also have 3.3 volt + or - 10%. This is looking at the connector with the front panel towards you Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  8. Use one of the screws as ground and read the voltage on the pins of the PIC. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  9. When testing resistance (ohm's) the Xbox is unplugged from the wall and testing the PSU the power supply you need it connected to the AC outlet with the meter set to DC volts. Test the blue and purple pins on the IC and you should have 3.3 volt with the Xbox connected to the mains (Wall) Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  10. Sounds like not all the files have been copied over. It can be done the way you are trying but from what I have read is most use a stand alone HDD cloner like this sort of thing I use one like this to clone 2tb HDD's for hard modded Xbox's, insert the master in the front slot and the new HDD in the back slot then hold the read button for 5 seconds then let it run over night. And no PC needed. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  11. The X2-5035.137 and the EvoX.m8plus.137 bios files are for hard drives under 120gb and you should have the X2 5035.67 and the EvoxM8plus.67 as both are set for F and G drives (2tb or 3tb) Also the Evox bios you listed was made for the version 1.6 (v16)and it looks a F drive 1st then C drive. You should also have a config file on E drive (x2config.ini) for the X2 bios and a config file on C drive (ind-bios.ini) for the EvoX bios Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  12. Error 5 is the HDD is not locked The Xbox that you are putting the hard drive in needs to have a modchip fitted or maybe the modchip is not working. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  13. Error 16 is because the Xbox can not load the clock settings screen due to a possibly missing file. Fitting a mod chip will allow you to load a install disk like the OGXbox Installation 2021 and setup the hard drive to work without needing to set the clock. Also with a modchip it's easier to install and setup a large (2tb) hard drive 1 install modchip 2 fit large HDD 3 boot the Xbox with a installation disk in the DVD drive 4 format new HDD and install dash 5 now you are ready to copy your games to the HDD Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  14. The reason I say that is your 1st pic it looks like the solder from pin 2 (the pin next to the damaged trace) is shorting to that trace and in the later pic you have probably tried to resolder that pin and lifted the trace. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  15. The Password is A Y B X on the controller and in my view is a stupid idea and the OGXBox installer disk doesn't have passwords Try using the XBpartitioner 1.3 program (It can be found on the OGXbox installer disk under the live apps section) to format the hard drive. When you load that program press A to setup the partition sizes then press start to format the HDD. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  16. Yes I believe there is a soft mod remove option. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  17. On the Xbox that's had the onboard bios re-flashed have you tried to load a Install disk like the OGXbox Installer 2021 from here https://1fichier.com/dir/mX1kipIz as most of the time a HDD that's setup for a soft-mod will not work on a hard modded Xbox, This disk has a remove soft-mod option. Will it boot a game disk? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  18. In one of the pics it looks like there is a damaged trace. Under the yellow line and the red circle needs resoldering. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  19. It's not a WD green drive is it? It might also be worth trying a different 80way IDE cable from a different supplier as well. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  20. That's why you are having problems with the DVD drive that is factory set as slave and you now trying to have two slave drives. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing
  21. The bios file you have is what's shipped on the Aladdin mod chip and back in the day it was all any one needed as not many people where fitting a HDD above 250gb. With the 1.1 board that has the Aladdin modchip is a 256kb size and you can flash either the Ind5004.67, Ind5003.67 patched, EvoxM8 plus.67 (all these are 256kb) the .67 means it's setup for using F(Partition 6)and G(Partition 7) drives on a 2tb HDD. Or if you reflash the onboard bios chip it's a 1024kb so you can also use the X2 5035.67 (512kb) The bios that on the Xbox at the moment is good to use for a 1tb or smaller hard drive and if you don't plan on using a HDD bigger than 1tb you can keep the bios as is. If it was me and keeping the Aladdin chip I would use the EvoXM8+ 67 or I would reflash the on board bios with the X2 5035.67 and remove the modchip to refit to a version 1.6 board. 22. I am not going to sugar coat it that solder work is scary. With the D0 wire not connected to the mod chip will the Xbox boot with the original animation? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  23. With the EvoxM8 you can turn off the animation and I find it makes it a bit quicker to boot up Is that what you mean? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  24. Yes The bios file that is but on by the manufacturer is old and only works with a hard drive under 160gb The new bios file will work with a hard drive up to 2tb or a 3tb (2.2 usable) If you load the OGXbox installer disk and select option 2 then select option 2.2 Now 2.2.2 Followed by 2.2.2.1 Now a new screen will open and you select Evox m8+1.6b (256kb) This will reflash with the latest EvoxM8 bios. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  25. Yes it means you have the EvoxM8 logo but the version you have is old and needs to be updated so you can use a hard drive bigger than 128gb. Both disks have the latest EvoxM8 bios that will support up to a 3tb (2.2tb usable) hard drive.
