This installer is made to run from a DVD and it will not work from a HDD - sry. But you can flash your TSOP from a HDD very easy. Download XBlastOS ( https://bitbucket.org/psyko_chewbacca/lpcmod_os/downloads/XBlast_OS_v0.56.zip ) and place the content of the "put_on_c_drive" folder on your C drive (Should look like this C:\XBlast\files....). Then copy the "XBlast OS.xbe" to your Apps folder on E:\ (Create a folder for it like "E:\Apps\XBlast\XBlast OS.xbe") (You can/should rename the XBE to default.xbe). Create a folder called BIOS on your C drive (C:\BIOS) and there you place the bios in which you like to flash. Name the bios "bios.bin" and then launch XBlastOS from your dashboard or from a file manager to flash your bios. And a word on a HDD version. I will do a HDD version of this installer but right now I don't have the time to do it. And there will be also a PC installer I'm working on using Rocky5's XBOXHDM tool which is also pretty useful to fix the evil error 16 which I found out the other day.

Some pictures of your work (before you start over) would be interesting. That all 4 chips fail is pretty uncommon IMO. Solder in a via should'nt be a problem.

In case you have a xbox 360 you could use it for a diy pogo mo thoin. And like Dave said, don't put this evil thing in your XBox. ;)

What brand / type is your new HDD? ANd why is your DVD drive going crazy? Can you load other DVD's?

HD Shadow is right. In the original config it's called "PC-Ports". I will see that I change it back to the original name or remove it entirely because most of it is "HomeBrew" anyway so no need for PC-Games / PC-Ports I guess. I have change it for my personal UX config so it's a left over from that. What you can try instead is, load the PCSX-ReloadedX Emulator (https://www.emuxtras.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=189&t=6561) and try if the Playstation version is working good enough on your XBox.

The HeXEn 2021 had this function as well when I gave my version of HeXEn to ToXicMedz but, like you know, he removed everything which was good and added these evil things like passwords and things back into it. But hey WHO cares about HeXEn? AID, Rocky5's or OGXBox. And for the memorys and becaus it can be usefull a copy of Slayer's.

Simple solution for a major problem. :D Download my installer and give the HeXEn to your kids (in case of) as frisby. After you have burned and booted the OGXBox installer select: "3. Format & Setup / Backup & Recovery." There you selcet : "3.1.6. Format Single Partition." And there you can set up your C Drive new. "3.1.6.1. Format and setup Partition C." Should you have also problems with your E partitionI recommend to use "3.1.6.2. Format and setup Partition E." That will format your E drive only and copy all needed Apps, Dashboards, ect. AND if you like to do C+E you can do both in one by selecting : "3.1.5. AiO Setup a new HDD (C+E Only)." Your F and G partitions will not be touched in any case.

Why not add a second folder "Crazy Taxi (Wide)" with a shortcut in it (default.xbe) which links to the default game folder which contains the defaultwide.xbe? Not as elegant and you would need to add cover arts your self (slightly modifyed to show it's the wide version) but, it would work.

With a dead HDD I would recommend to get a cheap mod chip like the Aladdin. It's the easyer way IMO. Reason for that is, if you can't boot anymore (to TSOP your XBox) you would need to get your HDD key first (using a RaspbarryPi with PiProm for example) to build a new HDD with Chimp to make your XBox booting again. After that you could do a TSOP no problem. So you would need to deside what you like to do, TSOP with RaspPi (PiProm and Chimp) or just geting a mod chip? And Slayers is a little bit outdated. When it boot up EvoX I would guess your XBox is softmodded. You could solder the 2 TSOP points (one on top and one on the bottom on the 1.0) and TSOP flash it, no problem.

Better check the Date code. The version is roughly right but not 100%. If it shows 1.4 for example, it can also be a 1.3. But that's not because of hexen, it's because of UnleashX.

Here I would say that the Kernel swap of the OGXBox installer causes this behavior. The MakeMHz Edition should boot on the same XBox no problem but you are still not be able to make any changes. Like I wrote in a different topic, Slayer can boot with a HDD which is locked to another XBox but the drives will show up as empty and you can't format these or even see whats on there. Looks like Slayer (EvoX) just ignore the HDD completely. As far as I'm aware, the XBox 360 HDD's have a special security sector. Maybe these can cause problems in some cases? Never tried a XBox 360 HDD on a PC. I just throw a 1TB in my 360 and she works fine (without any mod).

Things you may consider to buy are a magnifying glass (Like Kaos wrote), a set of tweezers (Amazon has some "cheap" set's of ESD ones which have there limits but they will do the trick) and a soldering iron (good and cheap one is the TS12, TS100 or the PINECEL (which is almost the same as the TS100). If you like to lvl up get a standalone hot air station. After that you are ready to do almost anything you like. It just need some practice and you will see it isn't that hard. I personaly had never belived that I can do ram upgrades or pad rebuilds but now they didn't scares me anymore. That said, don't trash your board. The time comes where you are able to fix it and you will laugh how easy that was. ;)

Also take a look at beween the header and R7D8. Looks like tarce rot and a small solder blob (Or just dust?)? Maybe you can use a q-tip and gently wipe over it before posting new pics?

It isn't to hard. Btw. don't set your Iron to hot. ~290 - 310°C should be fine.

That has many reasons (Get hands on ram, TSOP chip etc.). But in this case it would be because it's an easy fix. You could also can expose the coppper at end end where the pad was a little more and solder a tiny bridge between them. Looks like the chip is set to always on because there isn't any link attached to the front panel. But the LPC looks very dirty or burned? It would be inetresting to knkow how the Aladdin looks like rom the other side.

Before we start the guessing game, you should open her up and post some dirty nude pictures of your XBox. And yes, it could be possible that the last power cycle finaly killed a cap or maybe a trace is broken (trace rot) or something. Also possible would be that the clock cap has leaked already and causes this problem.

Nothing. The TSOP is already empty and how it looks not writable. I would guess (huge guess here) that there is something wrong with your conductive paint. So there is nothing you can do. Power down the xbox disconnect the power cord. Give her some seconds and power her back on and see what happens. If she starts to blink you are left with a blank TSOP and you would need to fit a mod chip in your XBox. You are not able to restore the original TSOP without desoldering the TSOP an using a external programmer to write a new Bios to it.

Use DVD - R inestead of RW which most drives have problems with ( I personaly didn't have any drive that can read them). You could also FTP a new dash but you may need to flash a new bios or at least make and place a new shortcut.

A wise man said "Never touch a running system". If the xecuter offers everything you need, stick with it. But in case you will try, you should have a backup plan because, if you flash a bios it can always render your xbox useless. And you could edit the X2 ini to skip the animation on boot which would speed up the boot process a bit.
