Original XBox Mod

Recommended Posts

I still have the first modded box i bought from 15 years ago that got me into soft modding. Did these require a game save exploit to install unleash?

I would say yes

It is possible to softmod a Xbox using a PC and hot swapping the hard drive

hot swapping is unplugging the IDE cable from the hard drive and connecting to a pc without powering down the Xbox.

Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.

If there's a modchip installed, the console is hard modded, not soft modded.

What's the problem with FTP?

The PC and Xbox have to have an IP address on the same subnet for them to communicate with each other.

How are the PC and Xbox networked together?

Your Xbox is properly set to static IP instead of DHCP.

As a rule you should not add any files to the C drive use E,F,G Drive for storage

The dash is not looking for add on files on C drive.

On your dash is there a emulators heading? If yes all you need to do is make a folder named emulators in your e,f and possibly g partition. If not 1st you will need to edit config.xml. There are a few YouTube videos showing how to edit unleashx config.xml. If you use xbmc you only need to set a path to emulators in programs.

I just downloaded GTA San Andreas to Xbox and ftped it over to the xbox.
When playing it the hd makes noise all the time? No problems in the game but it is usual with so much sound?
I tried Call of Duty on the Xbox and it does not make any noise when playing.
